INSTALLATION GUIDE
ES-SUB-WIFI-TX-MEGA
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing Episode® Electronics. To complete
installation, follow these guidelines. Visit our website for design
recommendations and speaker calculators.
Subwoofer placement can have a large impact on the overall
sound quality of low frequencies. This Episode wireless MEGA
Subwoofer Transmitter is designed to work with the Episode
MEGA Sub family of subwoofers. This wireless transmitter allows
placement of your MEGA subwoofer virtually anywhere in a
room without running wires (other than a power cord for the
subwoofer).
All models in the Episode MEGA Subwoofer family have the
matching wireless receiver built in and ready to be paired with
this wireless transmitter.

TRANSMITTER SETUP
1. Use high-quality shielded RCA cables with low impedance
to connect the wireless transmitter to the AV receiver. Use
a dedicated subwoofer connection (LFE) or L/R preamp
output to a TV using an RCA cable.
Subwoofer Placement
Subwoofer placement has an effect on overall audio performance.
The strongest audio output will likely occur if the subwoofer is
placed in a corner of the room on the same wall as the front-
channel speakers. This is known as the “boundary effect” and
emphasizes certain bass frequencies while canceling others.
Some listeners will find this to be the best-sounding result, while
others may find it overly “boomy” or muddy.
After the wireless kit is paired, experiment with subwoofer
placement to find the location that delivers the best audio
performance.
Pairing Your Episode MEGA Subwoofer to the Transmitter
Initial pairing may be performed without the audio signals
connected. This may be preferred for easier access to the pairing
buttons and power connections.

To pair the wireless transmitter and subwoofer:
1. Apply power to the transmitter and subwoofer. Turn on
the transmitter by pressing the Pairing button, located
on the bottom of the device, for one second, then the LED
starts flashing slowly. Turn on the MEGA-Sub subwoofer
by toggling the power switch to the on position on the
back panel.
2. Press and hold the Wireless Pair button on the back of the
subwoofer until the LED starts blinking slowly (200ms
on/off for 5 to 10 seconds), then release the button. The
LED continues to blink slowly for up to one minute while
in wireless pairing mode, and it turns off if pairing is not
successful.
3. Press and hold the Wireless/Pair button on the bottom
of the transmitter until the LED flashes quickly. The
transmitter and subwoofer connect and the LEDs stay lit,
indicating that connection has been successful. After a
few moments, both LEDs turn off.
4. If you paired the devices before placing them in their final
locations, power down the units and unplug their power,
place them in their final locations, then reconnect power
and turn the units back on. Pairing is persistent and will
not be lost when unplugged.
Special Notes:
Up to three Episode MEGA subwoofers can be paired to a
single transmitter.
Transmitter-Subwoofer pairing is persistent. Once paired,
they can be moved around the room or house, and when
turned on again, they will automatically reconnect.
Wireless devices are susceptible to radio frequency (RF)
interference from other devices. To reduce potential
interference and maximize wireless performance, check
the proximity to other wireless devices and relocate them
accordingly if interference is present. Signal interference
created by microwave ovens, ceiling fans, or other
appliances will subside when those devices are not in use.
