SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Symbols in this User's Manual are interpreted as shown below:

Be sure not to do.

The feature of the appliance, not a fault.

Pay attention to such a situation.

Be sure to follow the instruction.

Grounding is necessary.

Warning: Incorrect handling could cause a serious hazard, such as death, serious injury,etc.

Do not use the power supply circuit breaker

or pull off the plug to turn the appliance off

during operation. This may cause a fire due to

spark, etc.

Keep the power supply circuit breaker or plug

from dirt. Connect the power supply cord to

it firmly and correctly, lest an electric shock or

a fire break out due to insufficient contact.

Use correct power supply according to the

rating plate. Otherwise, serious faults maybe

occur or a fire maybe break out.

Do not knit, pull or press the power supply

cord, lest the power supply cord be broken.

An electric shock or fire is probably caused by

a broken power supply cord.

Never insert a stick or similar to the unit.

Since the fan rotates at high speed, this may

cause injuries.

It is harmful to your health if the cool air

reaches you for a long time. It is advisable to

make the air flow be deflected to all the

room.

Turn off the appliance first before cutting off

power supply when malfunction occurs.

Do not repair the appliance by yourself.If this

is done incorrectly, it may cause an electric

shock, etc.

Prevent the air flow from reaching the

gasburners or stove.

Do not touch the operation buttons when

your hands are wet.

Pull off the plug to stop it when the operation

is abnormal (a peculiar odor is smelled, etc.),

or it may cause an electric shock, etc.

It is the user's responsibility to make the

appliance be grounded according to local

codes or ordinances by a licenced person.

Shut the fresh air door to achieve the best cooling

effect and open it to introduce fresh air into the

room if the air is foul inside.

For mechanical control model

MODE

The mode knob controls fan speeds and cooling

speeds. To set desired cooling temperature, simply

rotate the mode knob dial to the appropriate

setting.

AUTO AIR SWING Switch

When the Swing switch is turned to the "ON"

position, the vertical louvers automatically oscillate

sweeping the cold air for comfortable cooling. The

vertical louvers may be stopped at any position

when the Swing switch is turned to "OFF".

THERMOSTAT

The thermostat automatically controls the cooling

cycle (compressor) of the air conditioner to

maintain room temperature. However, the fan

motor will continue to operate after the

compressor (cooling cycle) is completed.

LOW FAN will circulate the air at a minimum

speed without cooling.

MED FAN will circulate the air at a medium speed

without cooling.

HIGH FAN will circulate the air at a maximum

speed without cooling.

LOW COOL provides cooling, automatically with

minimum air circulation. Recommended for night-

time use.

MED COOL provides cooling, automatically with

medium air circulation. Recommended for night-

time use.

HIGH COOL provides cooling, automatically with

quick cooling or for extremely hot days. Once

room is cooled, reduce setting to LOW COOL.

OFF will completely shut-off the unit.

NOTE: After setting the mode, allow 3 minutes

before switching to another mode.

CAUTION

When using FAN control, turn slowly allowing unit

to adjust.

When using THERMOSTAT, be sure to allow

three minutes before changing temperature.

Adjusting too quickly may cause an overload

resulting in a blown fuse.

Front panel maintenance

1. Unplug from power source.

Unplug from power source after switching off

the air conditioner.

2. Wipe with a soft and dry cloth.

Use lukewarm water (below 40 C) to clean if

the air conditioner is very dirty.

Use a dry and soft cloth to clean it.

3. Never use volatile substance such as gasoline or

polishing powder to clean the appliance.

Air filter maintenance

1. Turn off the air conditioner.

2. Open the interior air inlet grille and take out the

air filter.

3. Clean the air filter.

If the dirt is conspicuous, wash it with a solution

of detergent in lukewarm water. After cleaning,

dry it well.

4. Reinstall the filter and close theinterior air inlet

grille.

OPERATION TIPS

Operating condition

The protective device maybe trip and stop

the appliance in the cases listed below.

*For Tropical (T3) Climate condition models,

the temperature point is 52°C instead of 43°C.

If the air conditioner runs in COOLING mode

with door or window opened for a long time

when relative humidity is above 80%, dew may

drip down from the outlet.

Noise pollution

The noise level of air conditioner sounds

higher at night than in the daytime.

Please set LOW FAN SPEED or FAN ONLY

mode at night in order to decrease noise.

Features of protective device

The protective device will work at following

cases.

• Restarting the unit at once after operation stops

or changing mode during operation, you need to

wait 3 minutes.

• Connect to power supply and turn on the unit at

once, it may start 20 seconds later.

Caution

1. Use proper fuse

Do not use wire or anything else instead of fuse.

Otherwise, air conditioner will be damaged, or

cause stock, fire, etc.

2. You need to wait 3 minutes before restarting.

(Note: If you let the appliance on after power cut,

the compressor may be burned)

Note

In very humid areas, the water removal may be

excessive enough to overflow the unit or increase

the noise of the air conditioner. If this occurs, you

may wish to attach a drain hose (not included)

to the drain plug allowing condensations to run off

conveniently.

1. All wiring must comply with local and national

electrical codes and must be installed by a

qualified electrician. If you have any questions

regarding the following instructions, contact a

qualified electrician.

2. Check available power supply and resolve any

wiring problems BEFORE installing and

operating this unit.

3. For your safety and protection. This unit is

grounded through the power cord when

plugged into a matching wall outlet. If you are

not sure whether your wall outlet is

properly grounded, please consult a

qualified electrician.

4. The wall outlet must match the plug on the

service cord supplied with the unit. DO NOT

use plug adapters or extension cord.

5. The rating plate on the unit contains electrical

and other technical data. The rating plate is

located on the cabinet of the unit. Make sure to

use correct power supply according to the

rating plate of your air conditioner.

Electric Shock Hazard

The air conditioner has a serial plate rating, it must

have its own fuse or circuit breaker, and no other

device or unit should be operated on be the fuse

or circuit breaker.

To avoid the possibility of personal injury,

disconnect power to the unit before installing or

servicing.

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS

TROUBLESHOOTING

The following cases may not always be a malfunction, please check it before asking for service.

Does not run:

• If the protector trip or fuse is blown.

• Please wait for 3 minutes and start again, protector device may be preventing unit to work.

• If the plug is not properly plugged.

Not cool enough:

• Is the air filter dirty?

• Are the intakes and outlets of the air conditioner blocked?

• Is the temperature set properly?

• Is the fresh air lever shut off?

• Are doors or windows closed?

Peculiar odor:

• This odor may come from another source such as furniture, cigarette etc, which is sucked in the unit

and blows out with the air.

Sound of flowing water:

• Caused by the flow of refrigerant in the air conditioner, not a trouble.

Cracking sound:

• The sound may be generated by the expansion or contraction of the front panel due to change of

temperature.

Spray mist from the outlet:

• Mist appears when the room air becomes very cold because of cool air discharged from indoor unit

during COOLING operation mode.

Installation accessories

Note: All above accessories are prepared or purchased by user.

Installation requirements

• Leave a space more than 100 cm at the rear of the appliance and ensure that the outdoor air intake is

not blocked.

• A wooden frame as shown in fig. 1 is advisable if the appliance is installed through a window. The

installation bracket as shown in fig. 2 should not be welded with the window sash.

• The square hole should be smooth enough if the appliance is installed through a wall. A space as shown

in fig. 3 for outdoor air intake should be prepared if the wall is too thick.

• The metallic installation bracket should be constructed as fig. 4.

• All the installation structure should be strong enough.

Installation steps

• Test the appliance by plugging the power supply cord in a correct outlet of power source before

installation.

• A clearance of 20 mm is advisable between the appliance cabinet and the wall. Fix the indoor air

intakepanel with the cabinet by employing two screws which packed in the packing bag as shown in

Fig. 5.

• Put the buffers on the installation bracket as shown in Fig. 6. Adjust the appliance as shown in Fig. 4.

The leveling pads are employed to tilt the appliance in order that the indoor side is about (15〜20) mm

higher than the outdoor side for fear the condensate overflow into the room.

• The seal foam pads are employed to prevent outside air from leaking into the room (Fig. 7) and the

decorating strip is presented for aesthetical appearance as Fig. 8.

Drainage

Condensate will form during the cooling or dry operation, user can choose drainage or no drainage.

Remove the drainage tip and fix the drainage hose when drainage is chosen. On the contrary, the

condensate is splashed to cool the condenser so that the cooling capacity and energy conservation is

improved with a little high noise when no drainage is chosen.

Fuse and grounding

• A proper time-delay fuse should be employed in the power supply circuit.

• For your personal safety, this air conditioner must be grounded.

• The extension of power supply cord is inadvisable.

• Connect this air conditioner to its own individual wall receptacle to prevent itself and other appliances

or household lights from causing a overload that could cause a power outage.



N'introduisez jamais de bâtonnets ou d'objets

similaires dans l'appareil. Vous pourriez vous

blesser, car le ventilateur tourne à une vitesse

élevée.

Il est dangereux pour votre santé de vous

exposer de manière prolongée à l'air froid. Il

est conseillé de dévier le flux d'air dans toute

la pièce.

Arrêtez l'appareil avant de couper

l'alimentation lorsqu'un dysfonctionnement se

produit.

Ne réparez pas l'appareil vous-même. Si cette

opération n'est pas effectuée correctement,

cela peut entraîner un choc électrique, etc.

Évitez que le flux d'air n'atteigne les brûleurs à

gaz ou la chaudière.

Ne touchez pas les boutons de commande

avec les mains mouillées.

Ne retirez pas la fiche pour arrêter l'appareil

en cas de mauvais fonctionnement (une odeur

particulière, etc.) sous peine de causer un

choc électrique, etc.

L'utilisateur a la responsabilité de faire

raccorder l'appareil à la terre conformément

aux normes ou aux ordonnances locales par

un technicien qualifié.

Pour le modèle à commande mécanique

MODE

Le bouton de mode contrôle les vitesses du

ventilateur et les vitesses de refroidissement. Pour

régler la température de refroidissement désirée,

tournez simplement le bouton de mode sur le

réglage approprié.

Interrupteur d'oscillation automatique de l'air

Lorsque l'interrupteur Swing est en position ON,

les lames verticales oscillent automatiquement

pour varier le flux d'air froid et fournir un

refroidissement agréable. Les lames verticales

peuvent être arrêtées dans n'importe quelle

position lorsque l'interrupteur Swing est placé en

position OFF.

THERMOSTAT

Le thermostat contrôle automatiquement le cycle

de refroidissement (compresseur) du climatiseur

pour maintenir la température de la pièce.

Toutefois, le moteur du ventilateur continue de

fonctionner lorsque le compresseur (cycle de

refroidissement) s'arrête.

LOW FAN fait circuler l'air à la vitesse minimum

sans refroidissement.

MED FAN fait circuler l'air à vitesse moyenne sans

refroidissement.

HIGH FAN fait circuler l'air à la vitesse maximum

sans refroidissement.

LOW COOL fournit le refroidissement

automatiquement avec une circulation d'air

minimum. Recommandé pour l'utilisation nocturne.

MED COOL fournit le refroidissement

automatiquement avec une circulation d'air

moyenne. Recommandé pour l'utilisation nocturne.

HIGH COOL fournit le refroidissement

automatiquement avec un refroidissement rapide

ou pour les journées extrêmement chaudes.

Lorsque la pièce est refroidie, passez au réglage

LOW COOL.

OFF arrête complètement l'appareil.

NOTE :

après avoir réglé le mode, laissez s'écouler

3 minutes avant de passer à un autre mode.

ATTENTION

Lorsque vous utilisez la commande du

VENTILATEUR, tournez-la lentement pour

laisser s'ajuster l'appareil. Lorsque vous utilisez le

THERMOSTAT, veillez à laisser s'écouler 3 minutes

avant de changer de température.

Un ajustement trop rapide peut entraîner une

surcharge et griller un fusible.

Entretien de la façade

1. Débranchez de la source d'alimentation.

Débranchez de la source d'alimentation après

avoir arrêté le climatiseur.

2. Essuyez avec un chiffon doux et sec.

Utilisez de l'eau tiède (moins de 40 °C) pour le

nettoyage si le climatiseur est très sale.

Utilisez un chiffon doux et sec pour le nettoyer.

3. N'utilisez jamais de substances volatiles comme

l'essence ou les poudres à polir pour nettoyer

l'appareil.

Entretien du filtre à air

1. Arrêtez le climatiseur.

2. Ouvrez la grille d'arrivée d'air interne et retirez

le filtre à air.

Retirez le filtre à air comme indiqué

3. Nettoyez le filtre à air.

Si la saleté est visible, lavez avec une solution de

détergent et d'eau tiède. Après le nettoyage,

séchez bien à l'ombre.

4. Remontez le filtre et fermez la grille d'arrivée

d'air interne.

CONSEILS D’UTILISATION

Condition d'utilisation

Le dispositif de protection peut se déclencher et

arrêter l'appareil dans les cas indiqués ci-

dessous.

*Pour les modèles pour condition de climats

tropicaux (T3), le point de température est de 52

°C au lieu de 43 °C.

Si le climatiseur fonctionne en mode

REFROIDISSEMENT avec la porte ou la fenêtre

ouverte pendant longtemps lorsque l'humidité

relative est supérieure à 80%, de la condensation

peut s'écouler de la sortie.

Pollution sonore

Le niveau de bruit du climatiseur semble plus

élevé la nuit que de jour.

Veuillez utiliser le mode VITESSE

VENTILATEUR LENTE (LOW FAN SPEED) ou

VENTILATEUR UNIQUEMENT (FAN ONLY) la

nuit pour diminuer le bruit.

Caractéristiques du dispositif de protection

Le dispositif de protection fonctionne dans les

cas suivants.

• Redémarrage soudain de l'appareil après une

interruption de fonctionnement ou changement de

mode durant le fonctionnement (vous devez

attendre 3 minutes).

• Raccordement de l'alimentation et mise en marche

immédiate de l'appareil (il démarre 20 secondes

plus tard).

Attention

1. Utilisez le fusible correct.

N'utilisez pas de fil ou autre à la place du fusible.

Dans ce cas contraire, le climatiseur peut être

endommagé ou provoquer un choc, un incendie,

etc.

2. Vous devez attendre 3 minutes avant le

redémarrage.

(Note : si vous laissez l'appareil en marche après une

coupure de courant, le compresseur risque de griller)

Note

Dans les zones très humides, l'élimination de l'eau

peut être excessive et surcharger l'appareil ou

augmenter le bruit du climatiseur. Si cela se produit,

vous pouvez raccorder un tuyau de vidange (non

fourni) à l'orifice de vidange pour évacuer la

condensation de façon pratique.
