Instructions
1. Aim the FakeTV unit at translucent shades, curtains, or blinds, so that it
lets FakeTV light out, but you cannot see the FakeTV unit from outside. If
you are using FakeTV on an upper floor you can use it without blinds. Plug
the AC adapter into the FakeTV unit, and into an outlet.
2. If it gets dark early (say, around five pm), place the switch on the FakeTV
unit in the DUSK + 7 HRS position. If it gets dark later (say, around nine
pm) use the DUSK + 4 HRS position. FakeTV will not turn on until it is very
dark (0.5 lux)-- almost pitch black. Alternatively, you can give the
appearance of a television left on all the time by leaving the FakeTV switch
in the “ON” position. If you wish to have the FakeTV on at times other than
those provided by the light sensor, turn the FakeTV unit to “ON” and plug
the ac adapter in an external timer.
3. Avoid these mistakes: The FakeTV unit must not be directly visible from
outside the house. Do not use FakeTV with a window that is too well lit with
exterior lighting. Do not put a light on a timer or any other light source in
the same room with FakeTV.
You still need good locks! When you go away for even a few days, stop the
paper and mail, and arrange for snow removal or other maintenance if
needed. Get to know your neighbors– they are the very best burglary
deterrent. Neither FakeTV nor any other occupancy simulation system can
guarantee you will not have a break-in. FakeTV works great in combination
with a lamp on a timer in a different room. It sends the message:
“somebody is home, and they are watching television right now.”
When you use the built-in light sensor, FakeTV will turn on and off at
different times because light levels fluctuate, further giving the impression
that somebody is home. Expect the effect to be subtle, but very convincing.
Remember that burglars will usually circle a property, looking for signs of life
and the easiest point of entry.

television simulation device is free of defects in materials and workmanship under
normal use for a period of three (3) years from the date of original purchase,
whether or not actual use begins on that date. User is responsible for transportation
of product to Hydreon. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by
accident, misuse, abuse, improper voltage, service, flood, lightning or other acts of
God, or if the product was altered or repaired by anyone other than Hydreon.
Hydreon is under no circumstances liable for consequential damages for the
product, including burglaries, and including if the product should fail.
FakeTV is for indoor use only. Do not submerge in water.

Anleitung:
1. Richten Sie das FakeTV Gerät auf lichtdurchlässige

DUSK + 4 HRS Einstellung. FakeTV wird erst dann
einschalten, wenn es sehr dunkel ist (0.5 lux) – also fast
stockdunkel. Alternativ können Sie auch den Eindruck
vermitteln, dass der Fernseher permanent eingeschaltet ist,
indem Sie den FakeTV Schalter in der „ON“ Position lassen.
Falls Sie das FakeTV Gerät zu Zeiten eingeschaltet haben
möchten, die der Lichtsensor nicht vorsieht, stellen Sie das
FakeTV Gerät auf „ON“ und stecken Sie den AC Adapter in
eine externe Zeitschaltuhr.
3. Vermeiden Sie folgende Fehler: Das FakeTV Gerät darf
nicht direkt von draußen sichtbar sein. Benutzen Sie den
FakeTV nicht bei einem Fenster, dass sehr stark durch
Außenbeleuchtung beleuchtet ist. Stellen Sie keine durch
Zeitschaltuhren betriebene Beleuchtung oder irgendwelche

1. Orientez l’unité de la FakeTV vers des teintes, des stores

2. S’il fait nuit tôt (vers 17h environ), placez le commutateur
de la FakeTV sur la position DUSK + 7 HRS. S’il fait nuit
tard (vers 21H environ) mettre sur la position DUSK + 4
HRS. La FakeTV ne s’allumera pas tant qu’il ne fera pas
vraiment sombre (0.5 lux) — voire totalement nuit.
Alternativement, vous pouvez donner l’apparence d’une
télévision restée allumée en laissant la FakeTV sur la
position “ON”. Si vous souhaitez avoir la FakeTV à des
heures autres que celles fournies par le capteur optique,
mettez l’unité de la FakeTV sur “ON” et branchez
l’adaptateur AC sur une minuterie externe.
3. Evitez ces erreurs: l’unité de la FakeTV ne doit pas être
directement visible de l’extérieur de la maison. Ne pas
mettre une lumière sur un minuteur ou toute autre source
lumineuse dans la même pièce que la FakeTV.
