Introduction

Thank you for purchasing our smoke detector. The photoelectric technology makes the

smoke detector more sensitive to detecting slow smoldering fires, i.e. thick, black

smoke with a little heat, which can smolder for hours before bursting into flame. Take a

few minutes to read the owner's manual and familiarize yourself and your household

members with the operation of the smoke detector. Keep the user manual throughout

the life of the product.

Important safety information

1. Use only the test button to test the smoke alarm function.

2. Test the smoke detector weekly to ensure proper operation.

3. This smoke detector is designed for use in a single-family home only. Do not install

in non-residential buildings. This smoke detector is not a replacement for a

complete alarm system.

4. Install a smoke detector in every room and on every floor of the house. Smoke

may not reach the smoke detector for many reasons. If a fire starts in a remote

part of the house, on another floor, in a chimney, or on the other side of a closed

door, wall, or roof, the smoke may not reach the smoke detector in time to alert

household members. A smoke detector will not immediately detect a fire except

in the room or area in which it is installed.

5. If any of the roommates are hearing impaired, install special smoke detectors with

lights or vibrating devices to alert the occupants.

6. Smoke detectors can only sound an alarm when they detect smoke or combustion

particles in the air. They do not detect heat, flame or gas.

7. Smoke detectors have limitations. This Smoke Alarm is not foolproof and is not

guaranteed to protect lives or property from fire. Smoke alarms are not a

substitute for insurance. Homeowners and renters should insure their lives and

property. In addition, it is possible for the smoke detector to fail at any time.

Therefore, you should test the smoke detector weekly and replace it at the end of

its life.

Status overview

Standby state:

The red LED flashes once every 40 seconds to indicate that the smoke detector is

operating properly.

Alarm and test status:

When the test button is pressed or when the smoke detector detects combustion

particles and goes into alarm (constant pulsing sound), the red LED flashes once every

second. The flashing LED and pulsing alarm will continue until the air is cleared or the

test button is released.

Low battery voltage status:

An intermittent chirp with red LED flashing once every 40 seconds.

Malfunction Status:

16 seconds after the alarm chirps every 40 seconds, the red LED flashes once

Pause Function:

The red LED flashes once every 8 seconds after the test button is pressed in the alarm

status

Activation

Before using the smoke detector, it is important to activate it and test it for proper

operation. Press and hold the test button for about 3 seconds until the LED indicator

lights up, then immediately release the test button. The smoke detector will produce a

beep to indicate that it has been activated.

WARNING:

- Replace 10 years after activation: _ _ - _ _ - _ _ _ _

- If no sound is generated, the smoke detector is not properly activated and should

not be used! The unit must not be deactivated!

Test

Immediately after activation, testing is necessary. Test the unit to ensure proper

operation by pressing the test button for at least 5 seconds, which will cause the alarm

to sound if the electronic circuitry, horn and battery are working properly. If there is no

alarm, the battery is defective or there is some other malfunction. Refer to the

"Troubleshooting" section for a solution.

Do NOT use an open flame to test your alarm, you could damage the alarm or ignite

combustible materials and cause a fire.

WARNING: Because of the sound volume (85 decibels) of the alarm, you should always

stand at arm's length away from the unit during testing. An irregular or low sound

volume of your alarm may indicate a faulty alarm, you can refer to the Troubleshooting

section for a solution.

NOTE: WEEKLY TEST IS REQUIRED!

Pause function

The pause function allows the alarm circuit to temporarily not detect smoke for

approximately 10 minutes. The pause function should only be used to minimize

nuisance alarms when a known alarm condition, such as smoke from cooking, triggers

the alarm. Press the test button for at least 5 seconds (or until the unit sounds) to

activate the pause function and the alarm will go into pause mode for approximately 10

minutes. The smoke detector will automatically reset itself after approximately 10

minutes. If combustion particles are still present after this period, the smoke alarm will

sound again. The pause function can be repeated until the air is purified. Combustion

particles from cooking can set off the alarm if the alarm is located close to the cooking

area. Using an exhaust hood that ventilates to the outside (type without recirculation)

will help remove these combustible particles from the kitchen. Thus, the pause

function is extremely useful when the alarm is activated by cooking fumes.

WARNING: Before turning on the "Pause Function", identify the source of the smoke

and make sure the condition is safe.

DANGER: If the smoke detector continuously pulses alarms and not because of a test,

then the unit is sensing smoke, THE SOUND OF THE ALARM REQUIRES YOUR

IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AND ACTION.

Installation

The smoke alarm can be installed in any room (except the bathroom, kitchen and dusty

areas) and any other area of the home so that occupants can hear and respond to the

alarm. For minimum protection, install an alarm in the hallway between living and

sleeping areas. Place the unit as close as possible to the living quarters and make sure

the alarm is audible in the bedrooms.

Single-story home

Install a smoke detector on the ceiling of each bedroom and in the hallway/corridor

outside each separate sleeping area. If a hallway in a sleeping area is more than 9m

long, install a smoke detector at each end. If there is a basement: install a smoke

detector at the basement ceiling at the bottom of the stairwell.

Multi-story dwelling

Install a smoke detector on the ceiling of each bedroom and in the hallway/overflow

outside each separate sleeping area. If a hallway in a sleeping area is more than 9m

long, install a smoke alarm at each end. Install a smoke alarm at the top of a staircase

from the first to the second floor.

Do not install smoke alarms in the following places

• Near appliances or areas where normal combustion occurs on a regular basis think

of the kitchen, near an oven, kettle.

• In areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms or areas near dishwashers or

washing machines. Install the smoke detector at least 3 meters away from these

areas.

• Near air vents or heating and cooling vents. Install at least 3 feet away from these

areas. Air can blow smoke away from the detector and interrupt the alarm.

• In areas where the temperature may fall below 0℃ or rise above 40℃, or with

humidity higher than 93%. These conditions will shorten the battery life or cause

false alarm.

• In extremely dusty, dirty or insect-infested areas, impacted particles may interfere

with the operation of the smoke detector.

What is the best location (See page 2)

• Initially, you should install an alarm on the landing or stairwell and in the

bedroom. In the case of multiple bedrooms, you should install an alarm in each

bedroom.

• Smoke, heat and combustion particles spread horizontally after they rise to the

ceiling, so install the alarm in the center of the ceiling. If for some reasons the

alarm cannot be installed in the center of the ceiling, the distance between the

alarm and the corner of the wall should be more than 50 cm.

• If the length of the room or hall (landing/stairwell) is more than 9m, install

multiple detectors in the hall.

• Smoke detectors in rooms with a ceiling slope of more than 1m at 8m horizontally

should be installed on the high side of the room. Install a smoke detector on a

sloping, peaked or cathedral ceiling between 500mm and 1500mm from the

highest point of the ceiling

Installation steps (See page 3)

1. Remove the mounting plate and then the mounting plug, using a screwdriver if

necessary.

2. Place the mounting plate in the desired location and mark the installation holes on

the wall with a pencil.

3. Drill two holes with a diameter of 5mm.

4. Insert the two plastic plugs into the holes.

5. Insert the screws via mounting plate into the dowels and tighten firmly.

6. Place the alarm on the mounting plate and turn the alarm clockwise.

7. Insert the mounting plug into the hole between the mounting plate and the smoke

alarm to secure your alarm.

8. Test the smoke alarm.

Maintenance and cleaning

In addition to weekly testing, the alarm should be cleaned periodically to remove dust,

dirt and debris. Clean the smoke alarm at least once a month. Vacuum all sides of the

smoke alarm using a vacuum cleaner with the soft brush. Make sure all vents are free

of dirt. Use a damp cloth to clean the alarm's case.

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to remove the cover to clean the inside. This will affect

the warranty.

Practice Fire Safety

If the detector sounds an alarm and you have not pressed the test button, it warns of a

dangerous situation and your immediate response is required. Prepare for such events

by developing escape plans with all family members/household members and

practicing them regularly.

1. Expose everyone to the sound of a smoke alarm and explain what the sound

means.

2. Determine two exits in each room and an escape route to the outside from each

exit.

3. Teach all household members to touch the doors before opening them. Instruct

them not to open the door and to use an alternative exit if the door is hot.

4. Teach household members to crawl on the floor to stay under dangerous smoke,

fumes and gases.

5. Determine a safe meeting place for all members outside the building.

What to do in case of fire

1. Do not panic and remain calm.

2. Leave the building as soon as possible. Touch doors to feel if they are hot before

opening them. Use an alternate exit if necessary. Crawl on the floor and don't stop

to pick something up.

3. Meet at a pre-arranged meeting place outside the building.

4. Call the fire department from outside the building.

5. Do not go back inside a burning building. Wait for the fire department to arrive.

NOTE: These guidelines will help you in case of fire, however, to increase the rate of

safe escape, please practice fire safety rules and avoid dangerous situations.

Troubleshooting

➢ The smoke alarm does not sound during testing.

• Replace the smoke alarm with a new smoke alarm.

➢ The alarm beeps and the red LED flashes once every 40 seconds.

• Replace the smoke alarm with a new one.

➢ The smoke alarm sounds unwanted alarms intermittently or when residents are

cooking, showering, etc.

• Press the test button to pause the alarm. Clean the smoke detector. Refer to the

Maintenance and Cleaning section. Move the smoke detector to a new location

and press the test button.

➢ The alarm sounds different than normal.

• Clean the smoke detector. Refer to the Maintenance and Cleaning section. If there

are still failures during the warranty period, return the unit to your retailer. If the

unit is out of warranty, replace it with a new alarm.

Inleiding

Hartelijk dank voor uw aankoop van onze rookmelder. Door de foto-elektrische

technologie is de rookmelder gevoeliger voor het detecteren van trage smeulbranden,

d.w.z. dikke, zwarte rook met een beetje warmte, die urenlang kunnen smeulen

voordat ze in vlammen uitbarsten. Neem een paar minuten de tijd om de

gebruikershandleiding te lezen en uzelf en uw huisgenoten vertrouwd te maken met de

werking van de rookmelder. Bewaar de gebruiksaanwijzing gedurende de gehele

levensduur van het product.

Belangrijke veiligheidsinformatie

1. Gebruik enkel de testknop om de rookmelderfunctie te testen.

4. Installeer een rookmelder in elke kamer en op elke verdieping van het huis. Het is

mogelijk dat rook de rookmelder om vele redenen niet bereikt. Als een brand

ontstaat in een afgelegen deel van het huis, op een andere verdieping, in een

schoorsteen, of aan de andere kant van een gesloten deur, muur of dak, kan het

zijn dat de rook de rookmelder niet op tijd bereikt om de huisgenoten te

waarschuwen. Een rookmelder zal een brand niet onmiddellijk detecteren,

behalve in de ruimte of kamer waarin hij is geïnstalleerd.

5. Als een van de huisgenoten slechthorend is, installeer dan speciale rookmelders

met lichtjes of trillende apparaten om de bewoners te waarschuwen.

6. Rookmelders kunnen alleen alarm slaan wanneer zij rook of verbrandingsdeeltjes

in de lucht detecteren. Ze detecteren geen hitte, vlammen of gas.

7. Rookmelders hebben beperkingen. Deze rookmelder is niet onfeilbaar en is niet

gegarandeerd om levens of eigendommen tegen brand te beschermen.

Rookmelders zijn geen vervanging voor verzekeringen. Huiseigenaren en huurders

moeten hun leven en eigendommen verzekeren. Bovendien is het mogelijk dat de

rookmelder op elk moment defect raakt. Daarom moet u de rookmelder wekelijks

testen en aan het einde van zijn levensduur vervangen.

Status overzicht

Stand-by status:

De rode LED knippert eenmaal per 40 seconden om aan te geven dat de rookmelder

naar behoren werkt.

Alarm- en teststatus:

Als de testknop wordt ingedrukt of wanneer de rookmelder verbrandingsdeeltjes

detecteert en in alarm gaat (constant pulserend geluid), knippert de rode LED eenmaal

per seconde. Het knipperen van de LED en het pulserende alarm zullen doorgaan totdat

de lucht is geklaard of de testknop is losgelaten.

Lage batterijspanning status:

Een intermitterende tsjirp met rode LED knippert eens per 40 seconden.

Storing Status:

16 seconden nadat het alarm om de 40 seconden tsjirpt, knippert het rode lampje

eenmaal

Pauzefunctie:

De rode LED knippert eenmaal om de 8 seconden na het indrukken van de testknop in

de alarmstatus

Activering

Alvorens de rookmelder in gebruik te nemen, is het belangrijk deze te activeren en te

testen op een correcte werking. Druk op de testknop en houd deze ongeveer 3

seconden ingedrukt tot de LED-indicator oplicht en laat de testknop dan onmiddellijk

los. De rookmelder zal een pieptoon produceren om aan te geven dat hij geactiveerd is.

WAARSCHUWING:

- 10 jaar na activatie vervangen: _ _ - _ _ - _ _ _ _

- Als er geen geluid wordt gegenereerd, is de rookmelder niet goed geactiveerd en

mag niet worden gebruikt! Het apparaat mag niet worden gedeactiveerd!

Test

Direct na activering is testen noodzakelijk. Test de eenheid om zeker te zijn van een

goede werking door de testknop gedurende minstens 5 seconden in te drukken,

waardoor het alarm zal afgaan als het elektronische circuit, de claxon en de batterij

goed werken. Als er geen alarm is, is de batterij defect of is er een ander defect.

Raadpleeg de sectie "Problemen oplossen" voor een oplossing.

Gebruik GEEN open vuur om uw alarm te testen, u zou het alarm kunnen beschadigen

of brandbare materialen kunnen doen ontbranden en brand kunnen veroorzaken.

WAARSCHUWING: Vanwege het geluidsvolume (85 decibel) van het alarm, dient u

tijdens het testen altijd op armlengte afstand van het apparaat te staan. Een

onregelmatig of laag geluidsvolume van uw alarm kan wijzen op een defect alarm, u

kunt het hoofdstuk Problemen oplossen raadplegen voor een oplossing.

OPMERKING: WEKELIJKSE TEST IS VEREIST!

Pauzefunctie

De pauzefunctie biedt de mogelijkheid om het alarmcircuit tijdelijk geen rook te laten

detecteren gedurende ongeveer 10 minuten. De pauzefunctie dient alleen gebruikt te

worden om hinderlijke alarmen te minimaliseren wanneer een bekende alarmconditie,

zoals rook van het koken, het alarm activeert. Druk de testknop gedurende minstens 5

seconden in (of tot het apparaat klinkt) om de pauzefunctie te activeren en het alarm

zal gedurende ongeveer 10 minuten in de pauzefunctie gaan. De rookmelder zal zich na

ongeveer 10 minuten automatisch resetten. Als er na deze periode nog steeds

verbrandingsdeeltjes aanwezig zijn, zal het rookalarm opnieuw afgaan. De pauzefunctie

kan worden herhaald totdat de lucht is gezuiverd. Verbrandingsdeeltjes van het koken

kunnen het alarm doen afgaan als het alarm zich dicht bij het kookgedeelte bevindt.

Het gebruik van een afzuigkap die naar buiten ventileert (type zonder recirculatie) zal

helpen deze brandbare deeltjes uit de keuken te verwijderen. De pauzefunctie is dus

uiterst nuttig als het alarm geactiveerd wordt door kookdampen.

WAARSCHUWING: Alvorens de "Pauzefunctie" in te schakelen, dient u de bron van de

rook te identificeren en er zeker van te zijn dat de situatie veilig is.

GEVAAR: Als de rookmelder voortdurend pulserende alarmen geeft en niet vanwege

een test, dan is het apparaat rook aan het waarnemen, HET GELUID VAN HET ALARM

VERZOEKT UW ONMIDDELLIJKE AANDACHT EN ACTIE.

Installatie

Het rookalarm kan in elke kamer (behalve de badkamer, keuken en stoffige ruimtes) en

elke andere ruimte in huis worden geïnstalleerd, zodat de bewoners het alarm kunnen

horen en erop kunnen reageren. Voor een minimale bescherming moet u een alarm in

de gang tussen de woon- en slaapvertrekken installeren. Plaats het apparaat zo dicht

mogelijk bij de woonvertrekken en zorg ervoor dat het alarm in de slaapkamers

hoorbaar is.

Gelijkvloerse woning

Installeer een rookmelder aan het plafond van elke slaapkamer en in de gang/overloop

buiten elk afzonderlijk slaapgedeelte. Als een gang in een slaapgedeelte meer dan 9m

lang is, installeer dan een rookmelder aan elk uiteinde. Als er een kelder is: installeer

een rookmelder aan het kelderplafond onderaan het trappenhuis.

Woning met meerdere verdiepingen

Installeer een rookmelder aan het plafond van elke slaapkamer en in de gang/overloop

buiten elke afzonderlijke slaapruimte. Als een gang in een slaapgedeelte meer dan 9m

lang is, installeer dan een rookmelder aan elk uiteinde. Installeer een rookalarm boven

aan een trap van de eerste tot de tweede verdieping.

Installeer geen rookmelders op de volgende plaatsen

• In de buurt van apparaten of ruimtes waar regelmatig normale verbranding

plaatsvindt denk aan de keuken, in de buurt van een oven, waterkoker.

• In ruimtes met een hoge luchtvochtigheid, zoals badkamers of ruimtes in de buurt

van vaatwassers of wasmachines. Installeer de rookmelder op minstens 3 meter

afstand van deze ruimtes.

• In de buurt van luchtafvoer- of verwarmings- en koelingsopeningen. Installeer op

minstens 3 meter afstand van deze gebieden. De lucht kan rook van de melder

wegblazen en het alarm onderbreken.

• In ruimten waar de temperatuur onder 0℃ kan komen of boven 40℃ kan stijgen,

of bij een luchtvochtigheid hoger dan 93%. Deze omstandigheden zullen de

levensduur van de batterij verkorten of een vals alarm veroorzaken.

• In extreem stoffige, vuile of door insecten geteisterde ruimtes, kunnen

beïnvloedende deeltjes de werking van de rookmelder verstoren.

Wat is de beste locatie (Zie pagina 2)

• In eerste instantie dient u een alarm te installeren op de overloop of het

trappenhuis en in de slaapkamer. In het geval van meerdere slaapkamers moet u

in elke slaapkamer een alarm installeren.

• Rook, hitte en verbrandingsdeeltjes verspreiden zich horizontaal nadat ze naar het

plafond zijn gestegen, installeer het alarm in het midden van het plafond. Indien

niet mogelijk dan moet de afstand tussen het alarm en de hoek van de muur meer

dan 50 cm bedragen.

• Als de lengte van de kamer of de hal (overloop/trappenhuis) meer dan 9m is,

moet u meerdere melders in de hal installeren.

• Rookmelders in kamers met een plafondhelling van meer dan 1m op 8m

horizontaal moeten aan de hoge kant van de kamer worden geplaatst. Installeer

een rookmelder op een hellend, piek- of kathedraalplafond tussen 500 mm en

1500 mm van het hoogste punt van het plafond

Installatiestappen (Zie pagina 3)

1. Verwijder de montageplaat en vervolgens de montageplug, gebruik hiervoor

indien nodig een schroevendraaier.

2. Plaats de montageplaat op de gewenste locatie en markeer de installatiegaten op

de muur met een potlood.

3. Boor twee gaten met een diameter van 5mm.

4. Stop de twee plastic pluggen in de gaten.

5. Plaats de schroeven via montageplaat in de pluggen en draai ze stevig vast.

6. Plaats het alarm op de montageplaat en draai het alarm met de klok mee.

7. Steek de bevestigingsplug in het gat tussen de montageplaat en de rookmelder

om uw melder vast te zetten.

8. Test de rookmelder.

Onderhoud en reiniging

Naast het wekelijks testen, moet het alarm periodiek worden schoongemaakt om stof,

vuil en puin te verwijderen. Reinig de rookmelder ten minste eenmaal per maand.

Stofzuig alle zijden van de rookmelder met een stofzuiger met de zachte borstel. Zorg

ervoor dat alle ventilatieopeningen vrij zijn van vuil. Gebruik een vochtige doek om de

behuizing van het alarm schoon te maken.

BELANGRIJK: Probeer niet het deksel te verwijderen om de binnenkant schoon te

maken. Dit zal de garantie beïnvloeden.
