Before using the appliance, please read
the usage instructions carefully and keep
them for future reference.
Warning
• For hygienic reasons, do not share this
appliance with other people.
• When switched on, the appliance must
never come in contact with the hair on
your head, eyelashes, ribbons, etc. to
prevent any danger of injury as well as
to prevent blockage or damage to the
appliance.

Charging
• Using the special cord set (6) connect
the appliance to an electrical outlet
and charge it for 1 hour.
Charging light (3a)
Flashing green: charging
Green: fully charged
Yellow: 15 min charge left
Flashing yellow: 5 min charge left
• Once fully charged, use the appliance
cordless. Operation time is 30 minutes
when it is used within 24 hours after
charging. Recharge it when the yellow
charging light comes on or when the
motor has stopped completely. For
best performance, always use a fully
charged appliance.
• The best environmental temperature
for charging, using and storing the
appliance is between 59 °F and 95 °F.
In case the temperature is beyond this
range, the charging time might be
longer whereas the cordless operation
time might be reduced.
• At the end of its lifetime, the
rechargeable battery can only be
replaced at a Braun Service center.
How to use the appliance
Use the on/off button (4) to switch on
the appliance.
Push one time for a gentle epilation
(speed 1).
Push a second time for a faster and more
efficient epilation (speed 2).
Push one more time to turn the appliance
off. The SensoSmart
TM
light (3b) shines
red when you apply too much pressure.
To remove the epilation head, press the
release button (5).
Travel lock
Push and hold the on/off switch at least
3 seconds to activate the travel lock.
A beep confirms that the switch is
locked. To unlock, push and hold 3 to 5
seconds. You can also unlock the switch
by connecting the appliance to the
mains.
Epilation
Epilation tips
• If you have not used an epilator
before, or if you have not epilated for a
long period of time, it may take a short
time for your skin to adapt to epilation.
The discomfort experienced in the
beginning will decrease considerably
with repeated use as the skin adapts
to the process. We recommend to
epilate once a week during the first
month of usage.
• When epilating for the first time, it is
advisable to epilate in the evening,

so that any possible reddening can
disappear overnight. To relax the
skin we recommend applying a
moisturizing cream after epilating.
• Epilation is easier and more
comfortable when the hair is at the
optimum length of 2 to 5 mm (0.02 –
0.2 in). If hairs are longer, we
recommend that you first shave and
epilate the shorter, re-growing hairs
after 3 to 5 days.
• Fine, re-growing hairs might not grow
up to the skin surface. The regular use
of massage sponges (e.g. while
showering) or exfoliation peelings
helps preventing in-grown hair as the
gentle scrubbing action removes the
upper skin layer and fine hairs can get
through to the skin surface.
Dry/wet usage
• When using the appliance on dry skin,
your skin must be free from grease or
cream.
• The appliance can be used on wet
skin, even under running water. Make
sure that the skin is very moist. In
order to achieve optimum gliding
conditions for the appliance, you may
use a shower gel while epilating.
How to epilate (see picture section A)
Always stretch your skin while epilating.
Hold the appliance at a right angle (90°)
against your skin and guide it slowly and
without pressure against the hair growth
in the direction of the switch. The skin
contact cap (1) provides a close skin
contact and adapts to all body areas.
Whenever the SensoSmart
TM
light shines
red, this is to remind you not to press too
hard. The massage cap (7) can be used
instead of the skin contact cap (1). It
stimulates the skin to make the epilation
process more comfortable.
Beginner cap (9) for first timer users:
It combines epilation with shaving to help
getting used to hair removal from the
root. It has been designed for wet usage
on legs only. Always apply shave foam or
gel on your wet skin when using the
beginner cap.
During the first 4 weeks, use the epilator
with the beginner cap to epilate and
shave once a week. Take special care on
bony, uneven skin areas in order to avoid
injuries caused by the blades. In case of
foam building up in front of the beginner
cap, rinse it off.
After 4 weeks, you will be used to
epilation and you can switch over to the
skin contact (1) or massage cap (7).
If you want to continue using the
beginner cap, make sure to replace it
after 12 usages (or in case the blade
shows signs of wear, kinks or damage).

available from the retailer where this
appliance was purchased, from Braun
Service Centers or via www.service.

Leg epilation
Epilate your legs in an upward direction.
When epilating behind the knee, keep
the leg stretched out straight.
Underarm and bikini line epilation
Especially at the beginning these areas
are particularly sensitive to pain.
We recommend starting with speed I.
With repeated usage the pain sensation
will diminish.
Before epilating, thoroughly clean the
respective area to remove residue (like
deodorant).
When epilating the underarm, keep your
arm raised up and guide the appliance
in different directions in order to catch
all hairs that might grow in various
directions.
Cleaning
Regularly cleaning the epilation head
ensures good hygienic conditions and a
reliable epilation performance. Remove
the cap (1 or 7) before cleaning.

Cleaning with the brush
Thoroughly clean the tweezers element
using the cleaning brush.
Cleaning under running water
After each wet usage (especially with
gel), clean the epilation head under
running water. During cleaning, turn on
the epilator for a few seconds. Then
remove the epilation head and let it dry.
Re-attach the epilation head after it has
dried completely.
General information on epilation
All methods of hair removal from the root
can lead to in-grown hairs and irritation
(e.g. itching, discomfort or reddening
of the skin), depending on the condition
of the skin and hair. This is a normal
reaction and should quickly disappear,
but may be stronger when you are
removing hair from the root for the first
few times or if you have sensitive skin.
If after 36 hours the skin still shows
irritation, we recommend that you contact
your physician.
In general, the skin reaction and the
sensation of pain tend to diminish
considerably with repeated use of
Silk·épil. In some cases inflammation of
the skin could occur when bacteria
penetrate the skin (e.g. when sliding the
appliance over the skin). Thorough
cleaning of the epilation head before
each use will minimize the risk of
infection.
If you have any doubts about using this
appliance, please consult your
physician. In the following cases, this
appliance should only be used after prior
consultation with a physician: eczema,
wounds, inflamed skin reactions such as
folliculitis (purulent hair follicles),
varicose veins, around moles, reduced
immunity of the skin, e.g. diabetes
mellitus, during pregnancy, Raynaud’s
disease, haemophilia, immune
deficiency or Candida.
Shaving (see picture section B)
The shaver head (8) is designed for a
fast and close shave of legs, underarms
and bikini line, contour trimming and
cutting hair to 5 mm length. Use the
shaver head only on dry skin and with
speed II.

Tap the shaver foil (II) on a flat
surface. Do not clean it with the brush

Battery removal at the end of the product’s useful life
Disassemble the rechargeable battery for disposal/recycling reasons as shown below.
Remove the rechargeable battery and recycle or dispose of it properly, according to
local guidelines.
Caution: Disassembling the appliance will destroy it and invalidate the warranty.

Battery
This appliance operates with one AAA
1.5 V battery. For best performance,
use an alkaline manganese battery
(type LR03, AM4, AAA).
Batteries may explode or leak and cause
burn injury if recharged, disposed of in
fire, mixed with a different battery type,
inserted backwards or disassembled.
If battery leaks, wipe device with damp
cloth and wash hands. If any material
gets in eyes, contact a physician
immediately.
Remove batteries before storing your
device in extended periods.
Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be
recharged. The supply terminals are not
to be short-circuited.
Rechargeable batteries are to be
removed from the appliance before
being charged. Do not dispose of
batteries in fire. Keep batteries away
from children and pets. If swallowed,
consult a physician at once.
Replacing the battery
Make sure the appliance is turned off.
Remove the battery compartment cover
(3) by pulling downwards (a).
Insert the battery with correct polarity
and close the battery compartment.
Using the bikini trimmer
The bikini trimmer is uniquely contoured
to remove unwanted hairs on every curve
of your body. It is perfectly suited for
cutting precise lines or contours like the
bikini line.
Slide the on/off switch (2) up to turn on
the appliance. Slowly guide it against the
direction of hair growth. For optimum
results, pull the skin taut with one hand
while using.
Cleaning and maintenance
After use, turn off the appliance (c).
To remove the trimmer head (1), rotate
it counter-clockwise 90°, then lift it off.
The detached trimmer head can be
rinsed under warm running water.
Please ensure that the trimmer head is
completely dry before reattaching it.
We recommend lubricating the cutting
element with a drop of light machine oil
after having cleaned it with water.

of purchase, because of defects in material or workmanship, and the
consumer returns the unit to an authorized service center, Braun Canada,
will, at its option, either repair or replace the unit without additional

This guarantee does not cover any product, which has been damaged by
dropping, tampering, wrong current, servicing performed or attempted by
unauthorized service agencies, misuse or abuse.

Mises en charge
• À l’aide du câble spécial (6), brancher
l’appareil à une prise électrique et le
charger pendant 1 heure.

• Une fois chargé, utiliser l’appareil sans
cordon. La durée de fonctionnement
de l’appareil est de 30 minutes pour
une utilisation 24 heures après le
chargement. Le recharger lorsque le
témoin de chargement devient jaune
ou lorsque le moteur s’est arrêté. Pour
obtenir de meilleurs résultats, nous
vous recommandons de toujours utiliser
un appareil complètement chargé.
• La température environnante idéale
pour la mise en charge et le rangement
de l’appareil doit être comprise entre
15 °C et 35 °C (59 °F et 95 °F). Si la
température est plus élevée, le temps
de recharge peut être plus long et le
temps d’utilisation sans cordon risque
d’être réduit.
• À la fin de sa durée de vie, la pile
rechargeable peut uniquement être
remplacée à un centre de services
Braun.
Comment utiliser l’appareil
Utiliser l’interrupteur marche/arrêt (4)
pour mettre en marche l’appareil.
Appuyer une fois pour une épilation
douce (vitesse 1).
Appuyer une deuxième fois pour une
épilation plus rapide et plus efficace
(vitesse 2).
Appuyer une autre fois pour éteindre
l’appareil. Le témoin SensoSmart
TM
(3b)
devient rouge lorsque vous exercez une
pression excessive.
Pour enlever la tête d’épilation, appuyer
sur le bouton d’éjection (5).
Verrou de sécurité pour le voyage
Appuyer sur le bouton marche/arrêt
pendant au moins 3 secondes pour
activer la fonction de verrouillage pour le
voyage. Un bip sonore vous indique que
le verrouillage est activé. Pour
déverrouiller, appuyer sur le bouton
pendant 3 à 5 secondes. Vous pouvez
également déverrouiller le bouton en
branchant l’appareil sur secteur.

Épilation
Conseils d’épilation
• Si vous n’avez jamais utilisé un épilateur
ou que vous ne vous êtes pas épilée
depuis longtemps, une courte période
d’adaptation peut être nécessaire pour
que votre peau s’adapte à l’épilation.
L’inconfort ressenti au début de
l’épilation diminuera considérablement
avec l’utilisation répétée de l’appareil,
à mesure que la peau s’adaptera à
l’épilation. Il est recommandé de
s’épiler une fois par semaine au cours
du premier mois d’utilisation.
• Il est préférable de s’épiler pour la
première fois le soir afin que les
rougeurs qui risquent d’apparaître
puissent disparaître durant la nuit.
Nous vous recommandons d’appliquer
une crème hydratante après l’épilation
pour détendre votre peau.
• L’épilation est plus facile et plus
confortable lorsque les poils ont une
longueur de 2 à 5 mm (0,02 à 0,2 po).
Si les poils sont plus longs, nous vous
recommandons tout d’abord de les
raser et d’épiler les repousses 3 à
5 jours plus tard.
• Des poils fins peuvent parfois
repousser sous la surface de la peau.
Pour éviter ces poils incarnés, il est
conseillé d’utiliser régulièrement un
gant de crin (sous la douche) ou de
procéder à des exfoliations. En effet,
l’action exfoliante permettra de retirer
les cellules mortes afin que les poils
fins puissent pousser à la surface de
la peau.
Utilisation sur la peau sèche ou
mouillée
• Lorsque vous utilisez l’appareil sur la
peau sèche, celle-ci doit être exempte
de toute crème ou de tout autre corps
gras.
• Vous pouvez utiliser l’appareil sur la
peau mouillée, et même sous l’eau
courante. Votre peau doit être bien
mouillée. Pour que l’appareil glisse de
façon optimale, vous pouvez utiliser un
gel douche lorsque vous vous épilez.
Pour vous épiler (voir l’image de la
section A)
Toujours tendre la peau pendant l’épi-
lation. Maintenir l’appareil contre la peau
à angle droit (90°) et le déplacer sans
exercer de pression, dans le sens
opposé à la repousse et vers l’interrupteur.
L’embout protecteur (1) permet un
contact rapproché avec la peau et
s’adapte à toutes les parties du corps.
Le témoin SensoSmart
TM
devient rouge
chaque fois que vous exercez une
pression excessive. L’embout de
massage (7) peut remplacer l’embout
protecteur (1). Il stimule la peau pour
rendre l’épilation plus confortable.
Capot pour débutantes (8) pour les
premières utilisations : combine
épilation et rasage pour s’habituer plus
facilement à une épilation dès la racine.
Il a été concu pour une utilisation sur.
peau humide, sur les jambes
uniquement. Appliquez toujours de la
mousse et du gel à raser sur votre peau
humide lorsque vous utilisez le capot
pour débutantes.
Pendant les 4 premières semaines,
utilisez l’épilateur avec le capot pour
débutantes, une fois par semaine, pour
vous épiler et vous raser. Soyez
particulièrement prudente lorsque vous
utilisez l’appareil sur des zones
irrégulières ou osseuses afin d’éviter les
risques de coupure. Rincez la mousse
qui peut s’accumuler au niveau du capot
pour débutantes. Après 4 semaines,
vous serez habituée à l’épilation et
pourrez passer à utiliser l’accessoire de
contact (1) ou de massage (7).
Si vous voulez continuer à utiliser le
capot pour débutantes, remplacez-le
après 12 utilisations (ou si la lame est
endomagée ou montre des signes

Épilation des jambes
Épiler les jambes du bas vers le haut.
Étirer la jambe pour mieux épiler l’arrière
du genou.
Épilation des aisselles et de la zone du
bikini
Ces zones sont particulièrement sensibles
à la douleur, surtout lors des premières
épilations. C’est pourquoi nous vous
recommandons de commencer par la
vitesse I. La sensation de douleur
diminuera avec l’utilisation répétée de
l’appareil.
Avant l’épilation, nettoyer à fond la zone à
épiler afin d’éliminer les résidus (comme
le désodorisant).
Pour épiler les aisselles, garder le bras
levé et déplacer l’appareil dans tous les
sens afin de bien saisir tous les poils qui
poussent dans différentes directions.
Nettoyage
Nettoyer régulièrement la tête d’épilation
pour qu’elle demeure propre et offre un
rendement optimal. Retirer l’embout (1
ou 7) avant de la nettoyer.
Nettoyage à l’aide de la brosse
Nettoyer les pincettes à fond à l’aide de
la brosse.
Nettoyage sous l’eau courante
Après chaque utilisation sur la peau
mouillée (en particulier si l’épilation s’est
déroulée à l’aide d’un gel), nettoyer la
tête d’épilation sous l’eau courante.
Pendant le nettoyage, mettre en marche
l’épilateur pendant quelques secondes.
Retirer ensuite la tête d’épilation, puis la
laisser sécher. Fixer la tête d’épilation
lorsqu’elle est complètement sèche.
Renseignements généraux
concernant l’épilation
Selon l’état de la peau et le type de poil,
toutes les méthodes d’épilation des poils
à la racine peuvent causer des poils
incarnés et de l’irritation (p. ex. des
démangeaisons, de l’inconfort ou des
rougeurs sur la peau). Il s’agit d’une
réaction normale qui devrait disparaître
rapidement, mais elle peut s’avérer plus
forte lors des premières épilations ou si
vous avez la peau sensible.
Si, après 36 heures, la peau est toujours
irritée, nous vous recommandons de
communiquer avec votre médecin.
En général, la réaction cutanée et la
sensation de douleur tendent à diminuer
considérablement avec l’utilisation
répétée de l’épilateur Silk·épil. Dans
certains cas, l’inflammation de la peau
peut se produire lorsque des bactéries
pénètrent dans la peau (p. ex. au
passage de l’appareil). Un nettoyage
complet de la tête d’épilation avant
chaque utilisation aidera à réduire les
risques d’infection.
En cas de doute sur l’utilisation de
l’appareil, veuillez consulter votre
médecin. Dans les cas suivants,
l’appareil ne devrait être utilisé qu’après
avoir consulté un médecin : eczéma,
lésions, inflammations de la peau telles
qu’une folliculite (follicules purulents),
varices, autour des grains de beauté,
faible immunité de la peau (p. ex.
diabète sucré, durant la grossesse,
maladie de Raynaud), hémophilie,
immunodéficience ou Candida.
Rasage (voir l’image de la section B)
La tête de rasage (8) est conçue pour
raser de près et rapidement les jambes,
les aisselles et la zone du bikini, ainsi
que pour tailler des lignes précises et
tailler les poils à une longueur de 5 mm.
Utiliser la tête de rasage sur la peau
sèche seulement en choisissant la
vitesse II.
