Instructions for Play
Getting Started
To turn on the FRIDGE TALK magnetic wordplay recorder, slide the switch to one of three modes.
To turn it off, slide the switch to Off.
Note: FRIDGE TALK magnetic wordplay recorder will automatically turn off after one minute of
inactivity. You can start playing again by pressing any button or sliding the switch.
Play and Learn!
When you slide the switch to any of the three modes, the fi rst activity will launch right away. Press
the Next button to go to the next activity.
When you’re ready to record your voice, press the Talk button. Recording begins after the beep. The red
light will be on during recording. It will blink rapidly when you have two seconds remaining. A second beep
will tell you that the recording time has ended. Recordings are set to different lengths for different activities.
Press the Play button or open the curtain to play back the recording. You can record and play back in
each activity as many times as you want.

The Word Show
The Word Show presents a variety of playful games to help your child’s vocabulary grow. These
activities introduce new words and encourage your child to use familiar words in new ways.
The Song Show
It’s time for a sing-along! The Song Show provides activities that encourage children to sing and
perform while reinforcing important preschool skills such as letter sounds and rhyming.
Your Show
Creative expression takes center stage in Your Show mode. It’s fun and easy for your child to record
and play back his or her own songs, stories and other verbal creations. Press the Next button to hear
open-ended suggestions for recordings.

Instructions For Care
Keep food and beverages away from product. Never spill liquid of any kind on this product as it may cause damage
or render the device inoperative. Clean with a slightly damp cloth (cold water). Do not use soap or detergent. Never
submerge the unit in water. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Avoid dropping
the unit. Never try to dismantle it.
Battery Information
Batteries included are for in-store demonstration and should be replaced for home use. Requires 3 AAA (called LR03
in some countries) alkaline batteries.
Battery Removal and Installation Instructions
1. Open the battery door with a screwdriver.
2. If used or spent batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of
each battery.
3. Install new batteries as shown in the polarity (+/-) diagram inside the battery compartment.
4. Replace battery door securely.
Battery Safety
Batteries are small objects. Batteries must be replaced by an adult. Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery
compartment. Promptly remove dead batteries from the toy. Dispose of used batteries properly. Remove batteries for
prolonged storage. Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
DO NOT dispose of batteries in fi re, as batteries may explode or leak.
DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (i.e., alkaline/standard).
DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.
DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.

Iron fi lings and other ferrous-metal shavings/particles
Pointed objects of ferrous materials, such as nails, screws, carpet tacks, etc.

Troubleshooting

• Make sure the OFF/mode switch is not in the OFF position
• Make sure batteries are correctly installed
• Make sure battery cover is securely attached
• Remove batteries and put them back in
• Clean battery contacts by rubbing lightly with a soft eraser and then wiping
with a clean and dry cloth
• Install new batteries
Toy does not turn on
or does not respond
Toy makes improper responses • Follow the above instructions to clean battery contacts
• Install new batteries
