ONE-TIME QUICK-MOUNT
ATTACHMENT INSTALLATION
You only have to install the Quick-Mount node once as
it can be left in the security slot hole permanently.
1. Locate the security slot hole on the side or back
of your computer indicated by symbols:
2. Loosen the Quick-Mount node screw enough to be
able to insert the hook into the security slot hole.

3. Insert the hook of the node into security slot
(Diagram 2) and rest the node flat against the
notebook wall.
Note: If the hook doesn’t fit in the security slot hole
very well, try inserting it in the opposite direction.
4. Tighten the node screw all the way until the node is
snug against computer wall. (Diagram 3)

HOW TO USE YOUR NOTEBOOK
COMPUTER COMBINATION LOCK
A. Resetting the 4-Digit Combination
1. Be sure the Quick-Mount Node is attached to the
lock head and the number dials set to the factory
preset combination 1-1-1-1.
Note: You can not reset the combination without the
Quick-Mount Node inserted in the lock head.
2. Push the Reset Buttons towards the number dials,
and hold them there.
3. While holding the Reset Buttons, set the number
dials to your new combination.
4. Release the Reset Buttons so they slide back.
IMPORTANT: Write down your new combination in the
spaces provided, cut it out, and keep in a safe place.
B. Proper Lock Up
1. Decide what stationary object you wish to secure
your computer to, i.e., desk leg, table leg, or any
immovable object.
2. Take the cinch loop end of the cable and wrap it
around the stationary object. Be sure the object
cannot be lifted up to allow slipping the cable out
from underneath.
3. Pass the combination lock head through
the cinch loop.
4. Slide the Release Lever (Diagram 4) to the
unlocked position.
5. Snap the combination lock head onto the
Quick-Mount node so that it is flush against
computer wall. (Diagram 5) The Release Lever will
automatically slide back to the locked position.
NOTE: The Combination Lock Head must be set to your
current combination in order to snap the Combination
Lock Head onto the Quick-Mount Node.
6. Scramble the number dials.
IMPORTANT: You must scramble the number dials after
you secure the combination cable to your computer.
7. Be sure the combination lock head is secure on the
Quick-Mount node by trying to slide the Release
Lever to the unlocked position.
8. To unlock, set the number dials to your combination,
slide the Release Lever to the unlocked position and
pull the Combination Lock Head off the Quick-Mount
Node.

(a) Notebook Computer Combination Locks. American
Power Conversion warrants only to the initial user of
Notebook Computer Combination Lock Products or
Parts that such Products or Parts will be free from
defects in material and workmanship for the lifetime
of such Products or Parts.
(b) American Power Conversion’s sole obligation under
this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at its
option, the defective Products or Parts.

6. Brouillez les molettes numérotées.
IMPORTANT : Vous devez brouiller les molettes
numérotées après avoir rattaché le verrou à combinaison
à votre ordinateur.
7. Assurez-vous que le verrou est bloqué sur l’embout
Quick-Mount en essayant de glisser le levier de dégage-

2. EXCLUSIONS
(a) Les dispositions de cette garantie limitée ne s’ap-
pliquent pas aux produits et pièces qui sont : (i) utilisés
à des fins pour lesquelles ils n’ont pas été conçus; (ii)
réparés ou modifiés sans le consentement écrit préal-
la tête de verrou et que les molettes numérotées sont
réglées sur la combinaison préréglée en usine de 1-1-1-1.
Remarque: Il est impossible de modifier la combinaison
sans avoir installé l’embout Quick-Mount dans la tête
de verrou.
2. Poussez les boutons de réarmement vers les
molettes numérotées et tenez-les en place.
3. Tout en immobilisant les boutons de réarmement,
réglez les molettes numérotées sur votre nouvelle
combinaison.
4. Lâchez les boutons de réarmement pour qu’ils se
remettent en place.
IMPORTANT : Notez votre nouvelle combinaison dans
les espaces fournis, découpez cette partie et gardez-la
en lieu sûr.
B. Verrouillage
1. Choisissez l’objet stationnaire auquel attacher votre
ordinateur, par exemple le pied d’un bureau, le pied
d’une table ou tout objet fixe.
2. Prenez l’extrémité à boucle-sangle du câble et
entourez-la autour de l’objet stationnaire. Assurez-vous
que l’objet ne peut pas être soulevé pour laisser passer
le câble par en dessous.
3. Passez la tête de verrou dans la boucle-sangle.
4. Mettez le levier de dégagement (Diagramme 4) en
position déverrouillée.
5. Emboîtez le verrou sur l’embout Quick-Mount en
alignant les rainures pour qu’il glisse à fond et vienne
contre la paroi de l’ordinateur (Diagramme 5). Le levier
de dégagement retourne automatiquement à la position
verrouillée.
Remarque : La tête de verrou à combinaison doit
être réglée à votre combinaison actuelle pour que
vous puissiez insérer la tête de verrou dans l’embout
Quick-Mount.

INSTALLATION UNIQUE DU SYSTÈME
DE FIXATION QUICK-MOUNT
Il suffit d’installer l’embout Quick-Mount une fois
car il peut rester en permanence dans le logement
de sécurité.
1. Repérez le logement de sécurité, identifié par des
symboles sur le côté ou au dos de l’ordinateur :
2. Desserrez suffisamment la vis du Quick-Mount
pour pouvoir insérer le crochet dans le logement de
sécurité (Diagramme 1).
3. Insérez le crochet dans le logement de sécurité
(Diagramme 2) et positionnez l’embout à plat contre la
paroi de l’ordinateur.
REMARQUE: Si le crochet ne tient pas très bien dans
le logement de sécurité, essayez de l’insérer dans le
sens opposé.
4. Serrez à fond la vis de l’embout jusqu’à ce que
l’embout soit contre la paroi de l’ordinateur
(Diagramme 3).
UTILISATION DU VERROU
À COMBINAISON
A. Réarmement de la combinaison à 4 chiffres
1. Assurez-vous que l’embout Quick-Mount est fixé à
quede contra el lado de la computadora (Diagrama 5). La
palanca de soltar se deslizará automáticamente hacia la

adas, mantenidas u operadas; (v) se han usado violan-
do las instrucciones escritas de American Power
Conversion al distribuidor y/o usuario inicial; (vi) han
estado sometidas a temperaturas, humedad u otras
condiciones ambientales inapropiadas; (vii) se han visto
afectadas por el uso y gasto normal; o (viii) con base
en el examen realizado por American Power
Conversion o un Distribuidor, no evidencien violación
convincente de la garantía.
(b) Los siguientes costos y gastos no están cubiertos

tos de mano de obra para quitar y reinstalar los produc-
tos o piezas; (ii) embarque y gastos de flete necesarios

3. RECURSOS DEL USUARIO
EL ÚNICO Y EXCLUSIVO RECURSO DEL USUARIO EN
LO RELATIVO, O CON RESPECTO, A RECIBIR PRODUC-
TOS O PIEZAS QUE NO CUMPLAN CON ESTE ACUER-
DO SERÁ REQUERIR LA REPARACIÓN O SUBSTITU-
CIÓN DE LOS PRODUCTOS O PIEZAS POR PARTE DE
AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION. EN NINGÚN CASO,
LA RESPONSABILIDAD MÁXIMA DE AMERICAN
POWER CONVERSION EXCEDERÁ EL PRECIO DE
VENTA DE LOS PRODUCTOS O PIEZAS QUE NO CUM-
PLAN CON DICHA GARANTÍA.
4. LIMITACIÓN DE RESPONSABILIDAD

INSTALACIÓN UNA SOLA VEZ DEL
ACCESORIO “QUICK MOUNT”
Sólo tiene que instalar el “Quick-Mount” una vez, ya
que se puede dejar permanentemente en el agujero
ranurado de seguridad.
1. Encuentre el agujero ranurado de seguridad a un
lado o en la parte posterior de su computadora. Viene
indicado por los símbolos:
2. Suelte el tornillo del nudo “Quick Mount” lo
suficiente para insertar el gancho dentro del agujero
ranurado de seguridad (Diagrama 1).
3. Introduzca el gancho del nudo dentro de la ranura
de seguridad (Diagrama 2) y deje el nudo de plano
contra el lado de la computadora.
NOTA: Si el gancho no se ajusta muy bien en el
agujero ranurado de seguridad, intente introducirlo
en sentido opuesto.
4. Apriete el tornillo del nudo hasta el final, deténgase
cuando el nudo esté bien ajustado en contra del lado
de la computadora (Diagrama 3).
EMPLEO DEL CANDADO DE COMBI-
NACIÓN PARA COMPUTADORA PORTÁTIL
A. Cómo volver a poner la combinación de 4 dígitos
1. Asegúrese que el nudo “Quick-Mount” esté fijado
a la cabeza del candado y que los diales numéricos
estén puestos de acuerdo con la combinación de
fábrica 1-1-1-1.
Nota: Usted no puede volver a poner la combinación
si el nudo “Quick-Mount” no está introducido en la
cabeza del candado.
2. Empuje los botones para reajustar la combinación
hacia los números de los diales y manténgalos allí.
3. Mientras los mantiene, coloque los números de los
diales de acuerdo con su nueva combinación.
4. Suelte los botones usados para reajustar la combi-
nación de forma que se deslicen hacia atrás.
IMPORTANTE: Escriba su nueva combinación en
los espacios provistos, córtelo y manténgalo en un
lugar seguro.
B. Cierre apropiado
1. Seleccione el objeto estacionario contra el cual
desea asegurar su computadora, por ejemplo la pata de
la mesa del despacho, o cualquier objeto inmóvil.
2. Coja el extremo del nudo en bucle del cable y
páselo alrededor del objeto estacionario. Asegúrese de
que el objeto no se pueda levantar para sacar el cable
por debajo.
3. Pase la cabeza del candado de combinación a través
del aro de ajuste.
4. Deslice la Palanca de Soltar (Diagrama 4) hasta la
posición de abierto.
5. Inserte con presión la cabeza del candado de
combinación en el nudo “Quick-Mount”, de manera que

2. EXCLUSIONS TO WARRANTY
(a) The provisions of this limited warranty do not apply
to Products or Parts: (i) used for the purposes for which
they are not designed or intended; (ii) which have been
repaired or altered without American Power Conversion’s
prior written consent; (iii) which have been subjected to
misuse, abuse, negligence, or accident; (iv) which have
been improperly stored, installed, maintained, or operat-
ed; (v) which have been used in violation of written
instructions provided by American Power Conversion
to Distributor and/or initial user; (vi) which have been
subjected to improper temperature, humidity, or other
environmental conditions; (vii) which have been effected
by normal wear and tear; or (viii) which, based on
American Power Conversion’s or Distributor’s examina-
tion, do not disclose to American Power Conversion’s or
Distributor’s satisfaction nonconformance to the warranty.
(b) The following costs and expenses are not covered
by the provisions of this limited warranty: (i) labor costs
for the removal and reinstallation of Products or Parts;
(ii) shipping and freight expenses required to return
Products or Parts to American Power Conversion or
Distributor; (iii) normal maintenance; and (iv) economic
losses.
(c) THE PROVISIONS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY
ARE NOT APPLICABLE TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN
DEFECTS IN AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION’S
MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP.
3. USER’S REMEDIES
USER’S EXCLUSIVE AND SOLE REMEDY ON
ACCOUNT OF, OR IN RESPECT OF, THE FURNISHING
OF PRODUCTS OR PARTS THAT DO NOT CONFORM
TO THIS AGREEMENT WILL BE TO SECURE REPAIR
OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCTS OR PARTS,
AT AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION’S OPTION. IN
NO EVENT WILL AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION’S
MAXIMUM LIABILITY EXCEED THE SELLING PRICE
FOR THE NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS OR PARTS.
4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
IN NO EVENT WILL AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION
BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDI-
RECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES INCLUDING,
BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF USE OF THE PROD-
UCTS OR PARTS, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REV-
ENUE, INTEREST, LOST GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE,
IMPAIRMENT OF OTHER GOODS, LOSS BY REASON
OF SHUTDOWN OR NON-OPERATION, INCREASED
EXPENSES OF OPERATION, OR CLAIMS OF USERS,
WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT
(INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, STRICT LIABILITY
OR NEGLIGENCE), PATENT INFRINGEMENT, OR OTH-
ERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
SUCH DAMAGES.
5. STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS
NO ACTION ARISING OUT OF ANY CLAIMED BREACH
OF THIS AGREEMENT BY AMERICAN POWER
CONVERSION MAY BE BROUGHT BY USER MORE
THAN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION
HAS ARISEN.
