closely supervised at all times.
Any modifications to this product will void the warranty.

Make sure the battery is removed before opening the unit or performing any other
maintenance.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: Do not use a battery powered or electric drill for installation. Only a
manual Phillips-head screwdriver should be used for the installation of the EZ Light.

Step 1: Preparing the Light
1) Remove the (2) screws that secure the control to the return fitting (Figure 1).
IMPORTANT:
Keep these screws and control switch readily available for use in the following steps.
2) Remove the large nut, along with the washer and one gasket (Figure 2 and 3).
IMPORTANT:
Ensure to leave one gasket on the light to seal on the inside of the pool.

Step 2 Guidelines
• If lowering the water level below the return: Use Step 2A.
• If the water level of the pool is above the return fitting and you are in an area with water
restrictions, please start at Step 2B.
• If water is already below the return, please start at Step 3, Instruction 4.
Step 2A: Preparing the Pool (Lowering the Water Level)
1) Turn OFF the pool filtration system by either using a switch or unplugging the system.
2) Turn the valve of the filter to the CLOSED position or plug the outlet of the pool (skimmer).
3) Plug the existing return fitting.
4) Disconnect the return line from the pool filter to the wall fitting.
NOTE: Residual water may drain out of the return line.
5) Connect a drain hose to the return and run the line to an area for draining.
6) Remove the return plug and lower the water level below the height of the return fitting.
Step 2B: Preparing the Pool (Keeping Water Level Above the Return)
1) Turn OFF the pool filtration system by either using a switch or unplugging the system.
2) Turn the valve of the filter to the CLOSED position or plug the outlet of the pool (skimmer).
3) Plug the existing return fitting.
4) Disconnect the return line from the pool filter to the wall fitting.
NOTE: Residual water may drain out of the return line.
Step 3 Installation Guidelines
• If Step 2A was followed, start at instruction 4
• If Step 2B was followed, start at instruction 1.

Step 3: Installing the EZ Light/Fitting
CAUTION: Be careful not to rest tools or light on the top ledge of the pool as objects may fall
into the pool.
IMPORTANT:
Have the EZ light prepared as instructed in Step R1, ensuring one gasket is on the return.
1) Apply slight pressure on the return fitting, toward the pool wall (from the inside of the pool)
and loosen the large nut that secures the return fitting to the pool.
2) Remove the nut and any gaskets or washers from the return fitting.
3) Using a folded towel to block the water, push the existing return into the pool, making sure to
hold the return so it doesn’t fall to the bottom of the pool.
4) Fit the EZ Light and return into the center of the wall cut-out; ensure that one gasket is left on
the light to create a seal on the inside of the pool (see Step 1).
IMPORTANT: Apply pressure to the front of the light until the large nut is secured to the fitting,
creating a water tight seal to the pool.
5) Install the second gasket, followed by the washer and nut on the return fitting of the light (Figure 4).
6) Tighten the nut to ensure a tight seal; do not over tighten (Figure 5).
IMPORTANT: Make sure the fitting/light is level. If the light is not level, the battery may not rest
properly on the battery contacts.
NOTE: The wall is now sealed. Pressure being applied to the light from the inside of the pool can now
be stopped.
7) Wrap the fitting with an adequate amount of Teflon tape (not supplied) and thread the fitting
into the back of the EZ light, do not over tighten (Figure 6 and 7).

Connect the filter hose to the slip fitting or soft sided fitting and tighten (Figure 8-shows slip fitting).
9) Remove any plugs and turn the valve position to FILTER.
10) Ensure water level of the pool is at or above the minimum height requirement.

Step 4: Installing the Battery
1) Remove the (4) screws from the battery casing (Figure 9).
2) Align the battery (not included) with the contacts of the battery housing (Figure 10).
3) Install the battery casing and secure using the (4) screws (Figure 11).
NOTE: The curved portion of the casing should face the pool wall.
4) Guide the battery housing into the light socket and press the housing toward the pool wall
(Figure 12).
5) Secure the battery housing by reinstalling the 2 screws removed in Step 1: Preparing the Light
(Figure 13).

OPERATION
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that all plugs are removed from the inlet and outlet of the pool, the valve
of the filter is placed in the FILTER position and the water level of the pool is at or above the
minimum height requirement prior to restarting your filtration system.
Light Function (See Figure 14)
1) To turn the light ON, press and release the switch once.
2) To turn the light OFF, press and hold the switch.
NOTE:
The light will automatically shut off after 2 hours. Repeat Step 1 in this section if more
time is required.
Return Function and Fittings
3 fittings are supplied that thread into the front of the light
for different functions.
• Fitting A is used for pressure driving automatic cleaners
• Fitting B is an angled return to direct the water to the left
or right, against the wall of the pool.
• Fitting C is a straight return to direct the water toward the
center of the pool.

WINTERIZATION
IMPORTANT:
Winterization of the EZ Light does not cover the winterization of your filter
system. Please follow the filter manufacturer’s recommendations for winterizing your system.
Leaving Water Level Above the Return
NOTE: Some water will drain from the pool during this process.
1) Remove the 2 screws securing the battery housing to the return fitting (Figure 15). Store the
battery housing in a dry area that is above freezing temperature.
2) Remove the seal ring of the light (Figure 16) and gently pull on the light or place a screwdriver
between the pins and gently push the light toward the center of the pool to remove (Figure 17).
Store the light in a dry area that is above freezing temperature.
NOTE: Water will be flowing out of the top port.
3) Reinstall the light port plug and secure with the 2 screws from Step 1 (Figures 18 and 19).
4) Install the winterizing plug in the bottom portion of the return (Figure 20).
Draining the Water Below the Return
1) Remove the filter hose from the return slip fitting and connect a drain hose to the return and
run the line to an area for draining.
2) Remove the 2 screws securing the battery housing to the return fitting (Figure 15). Store the
battery housing and screws in a dry area that is above freezing temperatures.
NOTE: Proceed to Step 3 once the water level is below the top of the light.
3) Remove the seal ring of the light (Figure 16) and gently pull on the light or place a screwdriver
between the pins and gently push the light toward the center of the pool to remove (Figure 17).
Store the light in a dry area that is above freezing temperature.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Light Not Turning ON or is Flashing
1) Ensure the battery still has power (try a new battery).
2) Ensure the battery is securely installed/resting on the contacts (Figure 10).
3) Make sure the return fitting is level as this could cause the battery to tilt (Figure 5).
4) Ensure the battery housing is installed correctly (Figures 12 and 13).
Light Not Turning ON or is Flashing
1) Ensure there is a gasket on the inside and outside of the pool wall (Figure 4).
2) Wrap the threaded fitting with an adequate amount of Teflon tape (Figure 6).
3) Ensure the light or plug is firmly pressed into place (Figures 18).
4) Check that the seal ring is secure.
5) Make sure the nut is tightened properly (Figure 5).

1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
One year limited warranty from date of original purchase for manufacturing defects under normal and reasonable use, and subject to
the maintenance requirements and installation guidelines set forth in the product instruction manual.
This warranty applies only while using this product in the United States and Canada. Customers outside the continental United States will
be responsible for inbound and outbound freight on all claims. Those within the continental US will be responsible for shipping charges
to a repair center, if there is not one within driving distance. SmartPool will cover freight back to the customers within the continental
US for approved warranty claims.
THIS WARRANTY IS SUBJECT TO THE TERMS, LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS DESCRIBED BELOW, AND THERE ARE NO OTHER
WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHETHER OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, OR OTHER, MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER, OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY
What is Covered: SmartPool LLC warrants its electronic product to be free from defects in material and workmanship when leaving the factory.
What is not Covered: Any type of damage to the product due to improper installation, maintenance, or failure to provide necessary and
reasonable maintenance; any damage or injury caused by misuse and/or unreasonable use of the product; batteries (if applicable);
damage due to or related to improper draining, winterizing, storage or Acts of God; SmartPool LLC will not honor any claims for damage
to any products in transit unless damage to the shipping container is noted at the time of delivery on the transfer company’s delivery bill.
THE WARRANTY OBLIGATIONS OF SMARTPOOL LLC ARE LIMITED TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT OR OF ANY DEFECTIVE
COMPONENT, AT THE OPTION OF SMARTPOOL. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL SMARTPOOL LLC BE LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY
CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, AND/OR CHARGES FOR LABOR. SMARTPOOL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE
UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OR ANY AMOUNT FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY INJURIES OR
DAMAGES TO PERSON OR PROPERTY USING OR USED IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRODUCT, OR FOR ANY OTHER LOSS OF PROFITS OR
OTHER COSTS OR EXPENSES OF ANY KIND OR CHARACTER. IF SMARTPOOL LLC DETERMINES THAT EITHER REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF
THE PRODUCT IS NECESSARY, SMARTPOOL MAY EITHER REPAIR THE PRODUCT AT A NOMINAL CHARGE TO THE OWNER OR REPLACE THE
PRODUCT. THE OWNER BEARS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PRE-PAID RETURN OF THE PRODUCT TO SMARTPOOL, AND ALL REPAIRED
OR REPLACED PRODUCTS WILL BE RETURNED AT THE OWNER’S EXPENSE ON NON-WARRANTY RELATED RETURNS.
NO PERSON, FIRM, OR CORPORATION IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE REPRESENTATIONS OR INCUR ANY OBLIGATIONS IN THE NAME OF OR
ON BEHALF OF SMARTPOOL LLC, EXCEPT AS STATED HEREIN. THE REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY ARE EXPRESSLY
UNDERSTOOD TO BE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO THE OWNER, AND THIS WARRANTY CONTAINS THE FULL AND COMPLETE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN SMARTPOOL LLC AND THE OWNER. THIS WARRANTY SETS FORTH THE ONLY OBLIGATIONS OF SMARTPOOL LLC,
WITH REGARD TO THIS PRODUCT, AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF.
The representations set forth herein are the only representations made by SmartPool LLC, with respect to the product, and this warranty
does not constitute either a performance or satisfaction guarantee. It is the responsibility of the product owner to regularly test and
check the product for proper function and safety.
This warranty gives the original owner specific legal rights. You may have other rights depending on where you live.

DÉPANNAGE
La lumière ne s’allume pas ou clignote
1) Assurez-vous que la batterie a encore de la puissance (essayez une nouvelle batterie).
2) Assurez-vous que la batterie est correctement installé/revoir les contacts de connections
(figure 10)
3) Assurez-vous que le refoulement est de niveau car ceci pourrait faire incliner la batterie et
causer un mauvais contact (figure 5).
4) Assurez-vous que le boîtier de la batterie est installé correctement (figure 12 et 13).
Fuite d’eau au refoulement / à la lumière ou fuite bouchon
1)
Assurez-vous d’avoir un joint d’étanchéité du côté intérieur et extérieur du mur piscine (figure 4).
2) Enroulez le raccord fileté avec une quantité suffisante de ruban de téflon (figure 6).
3) Assurez-vous que la lumière ou le bouchon sont correctement enfoncé (figure 18)
4) Vérifiez que le joint d’étanchéité soit correctement en place.
5) Assurez-vous que l’écrou du refoulement est correctement serré (figure 5)

HIVERNAGE
IMPORTANT:
L’hivernage du EZ Light exclu l’hivernage du système de filtration. Veuillez suivre
les instructions d’hivernage du manufacturier pour votre système de filtration.
Pour un niveau de l’eau au-dessus du refoulement (retour d’eau)
NOTE: Une légère perte d’eau est à prévoir lors des procedures suivantes.
1) Retirer les vis (2) sécurisant le boîtier de la batterie au retour d’eau (figure 15). Rangez la
batterie dans un endroit sec au-dessus de la température de congélation.
2) Retirer le joint d’étanchéité de la lumière (figure 16) et tirez doucement sur la lumière ou
placer un tournevis entre les tiges de connection et exercer une pression vers l’intérieur de la
piscine pour dégager la lumière. (figure 17). Rangez la lumière dans un endroit sec au-dessus
de la température de congélation.
NOTE: De l’eau s’écoulera du port supérieur.
3) Ré-installer le bouchon et sécuriser avec les vis (2) de l’étape 1 (figure 18 et 19).

Installer le bouchon d’hivernage dans la partie inférieure du refoulement (retour d’eau) (figure 20).
Pour baisser le niveau de l’eau sous le refoulement (retour d’eau)
1) Débranchez le tuyau qui relie le filtre à la buse de refoulement (retour d'eau) et branchez un
tuyau de drainage sur la buse (retour d'eau) et placer l'autre bout du tuyau dans une zone de
déversement.
2) Retirer les vis (2) sécurisant le boîtier de la batterie au retour d’eau (figure 15). Rangez la
batterie dans un endroit sec au-dessus de la température de congélation.
NOTE: Passez à l’étape 3 une fois que le niveau de l’eau est passé sous la lumière.
3) Retirez le joint d’étanchéité de la lumière (figure 16) et tirez doucement sur la lumière ou
placer un tournevis entre les tiges de connection et exercer une pression vers l’intérieur de la
piscine pour dégager la lumière. (figure 17). Rangez la lumière dans un endroit sec au-dessus
de la température de congélation.

Etape 4 : Installation de la batterie
1) Retirez les vis (4) du couvert du boîtier de la batterie (figure 9)
2) Alignez la batterie (non incluse) avec les points de contacts du boîtier (figure 10).
3) Réinstallez le couvert de la batterie avec les vis (4) (figure 11).
NOTE: La partie courbé du boîtier doit être face au mur de la piscine.
4) Insérez le boîtier de la batterie dans la prise de lumière et appuyez sur le boîtier vers la paroi
de la piscine (figure 12).
5) Sécurisez le boîtier de la batterie en réinstallant les 2 vis que vous aviez retiré à l’étape 1 :
Préparation de la lumière (figure 13).

MODE D’OPERATION
IMPORTANT :
Assurez-vous que tous les bouchons ont été retiré des entrées et sorties de la
piscine, que la valve du système de filtration est en position “FILTRE” et que le niveau de l’eau
est à la hauteur requis avant de redémarrer votre système de filtration.
Fonctionnement de la lumière (voir figure 14
1) Pour ouvrir la lumière, appuyez et relâchez le bouton une fois.
2) Pour fermer la lumière, appuyer et maintenez le bouton enfoncé.
NOTE: La lumière s'éteint automatiquement au bout de 2 heures. Répétez l'étape 1 de cette
section si vous désirez augmenter le temps d’ouverture.
Fonctions des accessoires refoulements et raccords
3 raccords sont fournis se vissant à l'avant de la lumière pour
différentes fonctions.
•
Raccord A est utilisé pour les nettoyeurs automatiques à pression
• Raccord B à angle est utilisé pour diriger l’eau vers la droite
ou la gauche contre le mur de la piscine.
• Raccord C droit est utilisé pour diriger l’eau vers le centre de
la piscine.

Etape 3 : Installation de la lumière EZ Light/ Raccord
ATTENTION : Soyez prudent pour ne pas laisser des outils ou la lumière sur le rebord de la piscine
afin que ceux-ci ne tombent dans l’eau.
IMPORTANT : Ayez la lumière EZ Light prête tel que décrit à l’étape 1.
1) Appliquez une légère pression sur le raccord du refoulement (retour d’eau), vers la paroi de
la piscine (à partir de l'intérieur de la piscine) et desserrer le gros écrou qui fixe le
refoulement (retour d’eau) à la piscine.
2) Retirez l'écrou et tous les joints ou rondelles du refoulement (retour d’eau).
3) En utilisant une serviette pliée pour bloquer l'eau, poussez le refoulement (retour d’eau)
existant vers l’intérieur de la piscine, en veillant à le maintenir de l'autre côté. Retirez -le et
garder votre main avec la serviette à l'extérieur de la piscine afin de boucher l’ouverture.
4) Fixez la lumière EZ dans le centre de la découpe de la paroi; veiller à ce qu’un joint soit en
place sur la lumière pour créer l’étanchéité à l'intérieur de la piscine (voir l'étape 1).
IMPORTANT : Appliquez une pression sur la lumière jusqu’à ce que le gros écrou soit sécurisé
en place, créant un joint étanche sur la piscine.
5) Installez le deuxième joint, suivi de la rondelle et de l’écrou sur le refoulement (retour) de la
lumière (figure 4).
6) Serrez l'écrou pour assurer un joint étanche; ne pas trop serrer (figure 5).
IMPORTANT : Assurez-vous que le raccord/lumière soit de niveau. Si la lumière n’est pas de
niveau la batterie ne peut pas reposer correctement sur les contacts de la batterie.
NOTE: Le mur est maintenant étanche. La pression étant appliquée à la lumière de l'intérieur de la
piscine peut être arrêté.
7)
Enveloppez le raccord de glissement avec une quantité suffisante de ruban téflon (non fourni)
et enfilez le raccord à l’endos de la lumière EZ, ne pas trop serrer (figure 6 et 7).
NOTE: Pour les piscines souples (non rigides) utilisez l’adaptateur flexible “I” mentionné dans la
liste de composants.
8) Connectez le tuyau de filtration au raccord de glissement ou à l’adaptateur flexible et serrer
(figure 8 démontré avec raccord de glissement).
9) Retirer tous les bouchons et metre la valve de filtration en position “FILTRE”.
10) Assurez-vous que le niveau de l’eau de la piscine est à la hauteur requis ou plus.

Etape 1 : Préparation de la lumière
1) Retirez les vis (2) qui sécurise l’interrupteur au refoulement (retour d’eau) (figure 1).
IMPORTANT : Gardez ces vis et l’interrupteur pour une étape ultérieure.
2) Retirer l’écrou, la rondelle ainsi qu’un joint (figure 2 et 3).
IMPORTANT : Assurez-vous de garder un joint en place pour assurer l’étanchéité du côté
intérieur de la piscine..

Etape 2 Directives
• Si vous baissez le niveau de l’eau sous le refoulement (retour d’eau : Suivre l’étape 2A.
• Si le niveau de l’eau est au-dessus du refoulement (retour d’eau) et que vous êtes situé dans
une zone de restriction de l’eau, suivre l’étape 2B.
• Si le niveau de l’eau est déjà sous le refoulement (retour d’eau), commencez à l’étape 3,
instruction 4.
Etape 2A : Préparation de la piscine (niveau de l’eau abaissé)
1) Fermez le système de filtration de la piscine soit en fermant l’interrupteur ou en débranchant
le système.
2)
Mettre la valve du système en position CLOSED/FERME ou bouchez la sortie de l’écumoire (skimmer).
3) Bouchez le refoulement (retour d’eau) existant.
4) Débranchez le tuyau qui relie le filtre à la buse de refoulement (retour d'eau)
NOTE : Attention il y a de l'eau dans le tuyau donc risque de déversement.
5) Branchez un tuyau de drainage sur la buse (retour d'eau) et placer l'autre bout du tuyau dans
une zone de déversement.
6) Enlevez le bouchon sur la buse de refoulement (retour d'eau) et vidanger la piscine jusqu'à ce
que le niveau d'eau soit en dessous de la buse (retour d'eau).
Etape 2B : Préparation de la piscine (Niveau de l’eau au-dessous du refoulement (retour d’eau)
1) FERMEZ le système de filtration de la piscine soit en fermant l’interrupteur ou en débranchant
le système.
2) Mettre la valve du système en position CLOSED/FERME ou bouchez la sortie de l’écumoire
(skimmer).
3) Bouchez le refoulement (retour d’eau) existant.
4)Débranchez le tuyau qui relie le filtre à la buse de refoulement (retour d'eau)
NOTE : Attention il y a de l'eau dans le tuyau donc risque de déversement.
Etape 3 Directives d’installation
• Si vous avez procédé par l’étape 2A, commencez aux instructions 4.
• Si vous avez procédé par l’étape 2B, commencez aux instructions 1.
