Fsafe3 2013-10
Before working on compressed air system, turn off and lock-
out/tagout unit, release pressure, and be sure air pressure
cannot be accidentally applied. Relieve pressure before dis-
connecting or connecting air lines. Check compressed air
system components and all connections and hoses for dam-
age, leaks, and wear before operating unit. Do not direct air
stream toward self or others. Wear protective equipment
such as safety glasses, hearing protection, leather gloves,
heavy shirt and trousers, high shoes, and a cap when work-
ing on compressed air system. Use soapy water or an ultra-
sonic detector to search for leaks−−never use bare hands.
Do not use equipment if leaks are found. Reinstall doors,
panels, covers, or guards when servicing is finished and
before starting unit. If ANY air is injected into the skin or
body seek medical help immediately.

Beware of electric shock from wiring. Disconnect input
power before installing this kit. Reinstall all panels and
covers.
Attention aux décharges électriques au contact des
câbles. Couper l’alimentation électrique avant d’installer
ce kit. Réinstaller tous les panneaux et couvercles.
Fsafe7 2013-10
Breathing compressed air can injure or kill.
Do not use compressed air for breathing. Use only for
cutting, gouging, and tools.
tillage pneumatique.

3. Mounting The Air Dryer
! Stop engine, and let cool.
! Disconnect battery negative
() cable.
! Pressure may remain in air
dryer system even though
gauge reads 0 psi. Release
pressure in air dryer system
by connecting hose to outlet
and waiting for pressure to
bleed off.
! Release air pressure and wait
ten minutes before beginning
installation.
1 Mounting Holes (2 On Each
Side) 5/1618 Threaded Insert
Air dryer should be mounted as
close as possible to the air com-
pressor. Air dryer must be mounted
with connection side facing down.
Use mounting holes to install air dry-
er. Ensure clearance of 6 in. on both
front and back for proper air flow.
Installing Outlet Assembly
2 Outlet Assembly
3 Fitting Nut
Spin on outlet assembly until nut
contacts air dryer body.
Back out the outlet assembly to
achieve desired orientation.
Tighten fitting nut to 40 ft lb to seat
o-ring.

5 Outlet Location 1/2 in. NPT
Ensure that air compressor hoses
are long enough to reach from com-
pressor outlet to air dryer mounting
location. Use the shortest hoses
possible to reduce condensation.

Replace air dryer filter (separator)
element annually or when air dryer
output is too low. See Section 9.
For best results, maintain air pres-
sure in air dryer when using com-
pressed air. Air dryer pressure
helps “squeeze” the water from the
compressor air. Pressure in the air
dryer may drop if there is no equip-
ment connected to the dryer, or if
the connected equipment provides
little restriction (load) in the down-
stream air line (open air line).
Plasma cutting and CAC-A torches
provide enough restriction (load) for
proper dryer performance.
Cold Weather Operation
Water condensate in the cooler or
separator can freeze in tempera-
tures below 32°F (0°C), causing re-
duced or blocked airflow.
To improve cold weather operation,
remove water from separator bowl
after each use of the compressor.
Additionally
, the separator filter ele-
ment can be removed to prevent
the filter element from clogging with
ice.
If freezing occurs in the cooler, dis-
connect air dryer from the air sys-
tem.
