7 Installation
!
!
7.1 Frame assembly (only flat pack version)
A
Proceed as follows:
1. Slide grommet away from coupling and loosen the coupling from the shaft
of the head rail (fig. 2, page 3).
2. Unscrew locking ring on two part spline coupling (fig. 2, page 3).
3. Slide male part away from female part to disengage shaft (fig. 2, page 3).
4. Push belt through housing sprocket (fig. 3, page 4 and fig. 5, page 5).
5. Assemble the head rail to the side track noting the correct belt channels to
use (fig. 3, page 4 to fig. 6, page 5).
6. Ensure the gliders are at the same distance from the frame (fig. 7, page 6).
7. Re-assemble the couplings on the shaft (fig. 8, page 6).
NOTE
The motors have a built-in, self resetting thermal cut-out for safety reasons.
Prolonged use or over loading the blind could trigger the cut-out. If this
happens allow the motor to cool for up to half an hour.
WARNING! Risk of injury
Disconnect the power supply before you begin and ensure that it can not
be reconnected until installation has been completed.
Assemble and fit the frame the with two people if the blind is large or the
mounting location is difficult to reach alone.
CAUTION! Risk of injury
Important safety instructions. Follow all instructions since incorrect installation
can lead to severe injury.
NOTICE! Damage hazard
When unpacking, leave the blue tape on the side tracks to aid assembly.
The end of belt must be kept packaged until it is assembled to the moving
rail to prevent crushing.
Ensure that the frame is not twisted during installation, as distortion will
damage the blind and affect the operation of the blind.

7.2 Frame fitting
A
Proceed as shown:
1. Align the blind with the window cut-out and mark where the holes are to be
drilled for the frame.
2. Ensure the frame is square within the recess by using a measuring device.
Measure the outside corner of the frame to the opposite outside corner and
repeat for the other two corners. These measurement should be within
3 mm of each other (fig. 9, page 7).
3. Fix the frame with the screws to the ceiling (fig. 0, page 7).
If packing of tracks is required do not fully tighten the screws before packers
are in place as this can cause damage to the tracks.
It might be easier to loosely fit the four corner screws (1.) first to position and
hold the blind while the main fixings (2.) are fitted.
7.3 Fitting the moving rails and fabric cassette panels
Before fitting the fabric panel observe the following:
Check whether the moving rail is square and moves freely before fitting any
of the other panels. If the moving rail is not square it can be adjusted as shown
(fig. 8, page 6).
Ensure that the gliders are inserted into moving rail correctly and are free to
move (fig. a, page 8).
For fitting the blind panels proceed as follows:
1. Fit the moving rail (fig. a, page 8, 1 and 2). Dependent on the version the
blind is equipped with one or two moving rails.
Connect the power (see chapter “Electrical installation” on page 19) and
drive the moving rail away from the head rail before fitting the panels. There
is not enough space to fit the panels with the shoes in the shipped position.
2. Clip the fabric cassette panel to the shoes (fig. a, page 8, 3 and 4).
NOTICE! Damage hazard
Use packing material where required (fig. 9, page 7).
Use suitable screws and plugs for the wall construction to fix the frame to
the recess. Pre-drill at the marked points. The heads of screws may be no
larger than 6.0 mm in diameter.
Ensure not to drill through the wall.
Ensure not to damage the channel in the side tracks.
Take care not to leave screws or other debris inside the side tracks as this
can jam the shoes in the tracks.

Skyscreen Powered Installation
7.4 Fitting the cover (optional)
Proceed as shown (fig. b, page 9).
7.5 Electrical installation
The powered blinds are available for a connection to a 12/24 Vg power supply.
The data plate on the head rail provides important information on the specifica-
tions of the motor.
The following notes must be observed when connecting the blinds:
Ensure cables are not damaged during installation. Routings of cables
through walls or bulkheads must be protected and insulated by appropriate
bushing, grommets or cable conduits.
Ensure that a 12 V or 24 V stabilized power supply line is available for the
drive at the point of installation. The power supply line is suitably arranged
and protected.
The product must be connected to the correct power supply as specified on
the product label. The motor in the product is designed to cut out when a set
current is exceeded but the supply should be fused to protect the wiring to
the product.
Secure all cables to prevent any contact with moving parts.
Only use power supply units and control elements recommended by the
manufacturer to prevent damage or faults during operation caused by incom-
patible electrical components.
Control devices (e.g. switches) must be installed in visible locations.
One regulated power supply of the required specification is required per
motor as failure to do so may cause the motor to function improperly.
Any adjustment of set stop positions should only be made using the method
specified for the motor type to avoid damage to the motor.
Connect the motor as shown in the wiring diagrams:
Dometic radio controlled blind internal receiver (fig. c, page 10)
Dometic radio controlled blind external receiver (fig. d, page 10)
Manually switched blind (fig. e, page 11)
Somfy radio controlled blind external receiver (fig. f, page 11)
Somfy radio controlled blind internal receiver (fig. g, page 11)
The electrical power supply must be connected by a qualified electrician who
has demonstrated skill and knowledge related to the construction and opera-
tion of electrical equipment and installations and has received safety training to
identify and avoid the hazards involved.

I
Only if operated by switches: When operating the blind with switches
each switch operates each blind independently.
Only if operated with AP Remote control: When operating the blind
with an AP Remote control each fabric end is independently operated via
separate channels on the remote control. More than one blind can be added
to the same channel.
Each blind can be stopped in any position.

NOTE
Accessories are available using the separate order form.
Observe the applicable documents for the controls and the operating
elements.
NOTICE! Damage hazard while driving
Only for boats and yachts: If the blind is fitted beneath an open sunroof,
then the blind should be stowed when driving at more than 10 knots or with a
sea state of more than moderate, because this can damage the blind. Parts that
come loose may injure people in the vicinity.
NOTE
When operating the blind using switches or an automation
system: If the movement direction is reversed too quickly, the motor might
not detect the polarity change and will just stop. To prevent this, the power
must be off for at least 0.5 seconds before the movement direction is
reversed.
When the motor is stopped the power consumption falls. After approxi-
mately 4 minutes the motor automatically switches off.
