! Keep this instruction manual in a safe place for future

reference. Should the appliance be sold, transferred

or moved, make sure the instruction manual

accompanies the washing machine to inform the new

owner as to its operation and features.

! Please read this instruction manual carefully: it

contains important information regarding installation,

operation and safety.

Unpacking

1. Unpack the machine.

2. Check whether the machine has been damaged

during transportation. If this is the case, do not install

it and contact your retailer.

Removing the transit fixings

IMPORTANT: Follow these instructions to remove the

TWO transit fixings.

Situated on either side of the rear panel, BOTH transit

bolts MUST be removed before use.

! Failure to do so may cause

damage to your machine.

1. Unscrew the bolt using a

13mm spanner.

2. STOP when 3 threads can be

seen.

3. Hold, slide sideways and pull

to remove.

4. For safety, insert one of the

! Repeat steps 1 to 4 to remove

the second transit bolt.

! Packaging materials are not

children’s toys.

Levelling

Your machine will be noisy if the two front feet are not

adjusted so that the machine stands firm and level.

! The machine should be levelled from side to side

and from front to back.

1. Move your machine into its final location.

- Take care not to trap or kink the hoses.

2. Turn one or both front feet anti-

clockwise by hand until the feet

cannot be turned any more.

When adjusting the feet, use a

spirit level to check the machine

stands level, from side to side

and from front to back.

- The spring on each foot will stop

them coming loose.

! If it is placed on a fitted or loose carpet, adjust the

feet in such a way as to allow enough room for

ventilation beneath the machine.

Water connection

Connecting the water inlet hose.

Remember that this is a cold-fill machine.

! Check that seal is in place

inside the hose end cap.

Before making the water connections to gas ¾ thread,

allow the water to run freely from the supply tap until it

is perfectly clear.

Screw the inlet end with the blue

cap onto the cold water supply

tap.

Turn the tap on and check for leaks: tighten if

necessary.

! Make sure that there are no kinks or bends in the

hose.

! The water pressure at the tap must be within the

values indicated in the Technical details table (next

page).

! If the water inlet hose is not long enough, contact a

specialist store or an authorised serviceman.

! Always use new hoses.

! Check the water hose at least once a year, replace

any that are cracked as worn hoses could split under

water pressure.

Installation

Drainage connections

A. Connect the drain

hose, without kinking it,

to a draining duct or a wall

drain fixed at a height

between 65 and 100cm

from the floor.

B. Alternatively, place it

over the edge of a basin,

sink or tub, fastening the

hose supplied to the tap.

The free end of the hose

should not be under water.

! We advise against the use of hose extensions. In

case of absolute need, the extension must have the

same diameter as the original hose and must not

exceed 150 cm in length.

Electrical connection

Before plugging the appliance into the mains socket,

make sure that:

• the socket is earthed and in compliance with the

applicable law.

• the socket is able to sustain the appliance’s

maximum power load indicated in the Technical

Details table (on the right).

• the supply voltage is included within the values

indicated in the Technical Details table (on the right).

• the socket is compatible with the machines plug. If

this is not the case, replace the socket or the plug.

! The machine should not be installed in an outdoor

environment, not even when the area is sheltered,

because it may be very dangerous to leave it exposed

to rain and thunderstorms.

! When the machine is installed, the mains socket must

be within easy reach and should be connected to a

suitable electrical supply.

! Do not use extensions or multiple sockets.

! The power supply cable should never be bent or

dangerously compressed.

! The power supply cable must only be replaced by

an authorised serviceman.

! The company denies all liability if and when these

norms are not respected.

The first wash cycle

Once the appliance has been installed and before you

use it for the first time, run a wash cycle without

detergent and no laundry, setting the 90°C programme

without a pre-wash cycle.

PROGRESS INDICATOR LEDS:

These light up to indicate the progress of the selected

programme. When the programme is started, the light

corresponding to the first cycle is lit and as the

programme progresses, successive lights will come

on until the programme finishes.

FUNCTION buttons / LEDs:

When a function is selected, the corresponding LED

is illuminated.

• If the function selected is incompatible with the

programme set, the button will flash and the function

will not be enabled.

• If you set a function that is incompatible with another

function you selected previously, only the last one

selected will be enabled.

DOOR LOCKED LED:

If this LED is on, the appliance door is locked to

prevent it from being opened accidentally; to avoid

any damage. Wait for the LED to go out before

attempting to open the door.

! If the

LED flashes rapidly, together with at least

one of the other LEDs, there has been an error in the

operation of the appliance. If this occurs, call

Briefly: how to start a programme

1. Switch the washing machine on by pressing the

ON/OFF button for at least 2 seconds. All the LEDs

will light up for a few seconds, after which the ON/OFF

LED will remain lit.

2. Load your laundry into the washing machine and

shut the appliance door.

3. Turn the PROGRAMME knob to the programme

required.

4. Set the wash temperature (

Special programmes

Daily 30' (programme 11 for Synthetics) is designed to wash lightly soiled garments in a short amount of time: it

only lasts 30 minutes and allows you to save on both time and energy. By setting this programme (11 at 30°C), you

can wash different fabrics together (except for woollens and silk items), with a maximum load of 3 kg.

2. The function is enabled when the corresponding LED

is illuminated.

Detergent dispenser drawer

! Do not put any items into the draw, other than

detergents designed to be released from the drawer,

as they may cause damage or blockage.

into the compartment. Do not exceed the maximum fill

line.

the pre-wash and the main wash compartment.

! Do not use in drum dosing devices with pre-wash

programme 1.

Preparing your laundry

• Divide your laundry according to:

- the type of fabric/the symbol on the label.

- the colours: separate coloured garments from

whites.

• Empty all pockets and check for loose buttons.

• Do not exceed the weight limits stated below which

refer to the weight when dry:

Sturdy fabrics : max. 7 kg

! DO NOT overload the machine as this could result in

reduced performance.

Look for the Woolmark Platinum Care logo on the

washing machine to ensure you can safely and

effectively wash wool garments labelled as “hand

wash” (M.00221).

Set programme 12 for all “Hand Wash” garments using

the appropriate detergent.

Wool: For best results, use a specific detergent, taking

care not to exceed a load of 1 kg.

Precautions and advice

! The machine was designed and built in compliance

with the applicable international safety regulations.

The following information is provided for your safety

and should consequently be read carefully.

General safety

• The washing machine should only be used by

adults and in accordance with the instructions

provided in this manual.

• Never touch the machine when barefoot or with

wet or damp hands or feet.

• Do not pull on the power cable to unplug the

appliance from the electricity socket. Pull the plug

out.

• Do not open the detergent dispenser while the

appliance is in operation.

• Do not touch the drain water as it could reach very

high temperatures.

• Never force the washing machine door: this could

damage the safety lock mechanism designed to

prevent any accidental opening.

• In the event of a malfunction, do not under any

circumstances touch internal parts in order to

attempt repairs.

• Always keep children well away from the appliance

while in operation.

• The appliance door tends to get quite hot during

the wash cycle.

• Should it have to be moved, proceed with the help

of two or three people and handle it with the utmost

care. Never try to do this alone, because the

appliance is very heavy.

• Before loading your laundry into the washing

machine, make sure the drum is empty.

Saving energy and respecting the

environment

Environmentally-friendly technology

If you only see a little water through your appliance

door, this is because thanks to the latest Ariston

technology, your washing machine only needs less

than half the amount of water to get the best results:

an objective reached to respect the environment.

Saving on detergent, water, energy and time

• To avoid wasting resources, the washing machine

should always be used with a full load. A full load

instead of two half loads allows you to save up to

50% on energy.

• The pre-wash stage is only necessary on extremely

soiled garments. Avoiding it will save on detergent,

time, water and between 5 to 15% less energy.

• Treating stains with a stain remover or leaving them

to soak before washing will cut down the need to

wash them at high temperatures.

A programme at 60°C instead of 90°C, or one at

40°C instead of 60°C will save up to 50% on energy.

• Use the correct quantity of detergent, depending

on the water hardness, how soiled the garments are

and the amount of laundry you have, to avoid

wastage and to protect the environment: despite

being biodegradable, detergents do contain

ingredients that alter the natural balance of the

environment. In addition, avoid using fabric softener

as much as possible.

• If you use your washing machine between late in

the afternoon and in the early hours of the morning,

you will help reduce the electricity board’s peak load.

• If your laundry has to be dried in a tumble dryer,

select a high spin speed. Having the least water

possible in your laundry will save you time and

energy in the drying process.

Disposal

• Disposing of the packaging material:

observe local legislations, so the packaging can be

re-used.

• Disposing of an old machine:

before scrapping your appliance, cut the power

supply cable and remove the appliance door.

Disposal of old electrical appliances

The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical

and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that that

old household electrical appliances must not be

disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste

stream. Old appliances must be collected separately

in order to optimise the recovery and recycling of the

materials they contain and reduce the impact on human

health and the environment.

The crossed-out “wheeled bin” symbol on

the product reminds you of your obligation,

that when you dispose of the appliance in

must be separately collected.

Consumers should contact their local

authority or retailer for information

concerning the correct disposal of their old

appliance.

Switching off the water or electricity

supply

• Turn off the water tap after every wash. This will

limit the wear of the appliance’s water system and

also prevent leaks.

• Unplug your appliance when cleaning it and during

all maintenance operations.

Cleaning your appliance

Cleaning the exterior

Use a damp cloth or silicon polish to clean the exterior

surfaces of the appliance.

Cleaning the door bowl

Clean the internal surface of the door bowl regularly

with a soft cloth. A build-up of soap powder and water

hardness residue may result in water leaking from the

door.

Cleaning the dispenser drawer and compartments

It is advisable to clean the dispenser drawer regularly.

! Do not try to clean any part of the dispenser drawer

while the machine is running.

1. Pull out the drawer until it

reaches its stop.

2. Press the drawer release

button to remove the dispenser

drawer (see figure).

3. Clean and dry the dispenser

drawer, syphons, grate and

fabric conditioner exit channel

(A). Also regularly clean the

outlet pipe area (B).

4. Relocate the dispenser drawer and push it firmly

back into place.

! Do not clean any part of the machine with abrasive

cleaners, scouring agents, acids, any bleach or metal

polish as they may cause damage.

Caring for your appliance door and drum

• Always leave the door ajar to prevent unpleasant

odours from forming.

Cleaning the pump

The washing machine is fitted with a self-cleaning pump

which does not require regular maintenance. However,

it may be that small objects (coins, buttons, etc.) fall

into the pre-chamber that protects the pump (the pump

is located in the lower part of this pre-chamber).

! Make sure that the wash cycle has finished and

remove the plug from the socket.

To access the pre-chamber:

1. remove the covering panel

on the front of the washing

machine using a screwdriver

(see figure).

2. unscrew the cover, turning it

in an anticlockwise direction

(see figure). a little water may

trickle out. This is perfectly

normal.

3. Clean the inside thoroughly.

4. Screw the cover back on.

5. Replace the cover panel, making sure that the hooks

are positioned in the right slots before pushing the

panel towards the machine.

Checking the water inlet hose

Check the water inlet hose at least once a year. If you

see any cracks, replace it immediately. During the

wash cycles, high water pressure could cause a

cracked hose to split open.

! Never use hoses that have already been used.

Care and maintenance

Troubleshooting

One day your machine seems not to be working. Before you call your Service Centre (

see Servicesee Service

), go through

the following troubleshooting suggestions:

• The appliance is not fully plugged into the socket.

• There has been a power failure.

• The appliance door is not shut properly.

• The ON/OFF button

has not been pressed, for at least 2 seconds.

• The START/RESET button

has not been pressed, for at least 2 seconds.

• The water tap is not turned on.

• The water inlet hose is not connected to the tap.

• The hose is kinked.

• The water tap is not turned on.

• There is a water shortage.

• The water pressure is insufficient.

• The START/RESET button has not been pressed, for at least 2 seconds.

• The drain hose is not fitted between 65 and 100cm from the floor (

• The free end of the hose is underwater (

• The wall drainage system doesn’t have a breather pipe.

If the problem persists even after these checks, turn off the water tap, switch

the appliance off and call for assistance. If the dwelling is on one of the upper

floors of a building, there may be drain tap problems causing the washing

machine to load and unload water continuously. In order to avoid such an

inconvenience, special anti-drain trap valves are available in shops.

• If the machine was unable to balance the load it will use a slow spin rather than

risk machine damage; the clothes might appear wetter than expected.

• The Rinse Hold function is enabled: to complete the programme, press the

Rinse Hold button (

it could cause harm to one or more persons, could

damage the machine and could invalidate the spare

Déballage

1. Déballez le lave-linge.

2. Vérifiez que le lave-linge n’a pas été endommagé

pendant le transport. S’il est abîmé, ne le raccordez pas et

contactez votre revendeur.

4. Pour des raisons de sécurité,

bouchez le trou à l’aide d’un des

bouchons plastique (

! Refaites les mêmes opérations (1

– 4) pour enlever le deuxième

boulon de fixation utilisé pour le

transport.

! Les matériaux d’emballage ne

sont pas des jouets pour enfants.

Mise à niveau

Réglez les deux pieds avant pour parfaire la stabilité et

l’horizontalité de l’appareil. Le fonctionnement de l’appareil

risque autrement d’être bruyant.

! Réglez tout d’abord l’inclinaison latérale et ensuite

l’inclinaison de l’avant vers l’arrière.

1. Installez l’appareil à l’emplacement voulu.

- Attention à ne pas coincer ou enchevêtrer les flexibles.

2. Tournez à fond et à la main un

des pieds avant ou les deux dans

le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une

montre.

Lors du réglage des pieds, utilisez

un niveau à bulle pour contrôler

l’horizontalité de l’appareil, tant

latéralement que de l’avant vers

l’arrière.

- Le ressort présent sur chaque pied empêche le

desserrement de ce dernier.

! Si l’appareil est installé sur un tapis ou de la moquette,

réglez les pieds de manière à laisser un espace suffisant

pour permettre le passage de l’air sous le lave-linge.

Raccordement à la prise d’eau

Raccord du tuyau d’arrivée d’eau.

Rappelez-vous que cet appareil dispose d’un remplissage

à froid.

! Veillez à ce que l’embout du tuyau

soit muni d’un joint.

Avant de raccorder l’arrivée d’eau

à l’entrée filetée ¾ gaz, laissez

couler l’eau du robinet jusqu’à ce

qu’elle soit parfaitement limpide.

Branchez l’embout bleu du tuyau

au robinet de l’eau froide.

Ouvrez le robinet et assurez-vous

qu’il n’y a aucune fuite. Au besoin,

resserrez.

! Vérifiez que le tuyau n’est ni plié ni trop écrasé.

! La pression de l’eau au robinet doit être comprise entre

les valeurs indiquées au tableau des Caractéristiques

techniques (page suivante).

! Si la longueur du tuyau d’alimentation ne suffit pas,

adressez-vous à un magasin spécialisé ou à un technicien

agréé.

! N’utilisez que des tuyaux neufs.

! Contrôlez le tuyau d’alimentation au moins une fois par

an et changez-le si vous remarquez des craquelures ou

des fissures car les tuyaux usés peuvent casser lorsqu’ils

sont soumis à la pression de l’eau.

Branchement électrique

Avant de brancher l’appareil à la prise de courant,

contrôlez que :

• la prise de courant dispose d’un raccordement

efficace à la terre conformément aux réglementations

en vigueur.

• la prise est bien apte à supporter la puissance

maximale de la machine indiquée dans le tableau

des Caractéristiques techniques (voir ci-contre) ;

• la tension d’alimentation est bien comprise entre les

! Après installation de l’appareil, la prise de courant doit

LED PROGRAMME EN COURS

Ces diodes indiquent le stade d’avancement du

programme de lavage. Une fois le programme lancé, la

diode correspondant au premier cycle s’allume et au fur

et à mesure que le programme avance, les autres diodes

se succèdent jusqu’à la fin du programme.

Touches / LED FONCTIONS :

La sélection d’une fonction entraîne l’allumage du voyant

correspondant.

• Si la fonction sélectionnée est incompatible avec le

programme sélectionné, la touche se met à clignoter et

la fonction n’est pas activée.

• En cas de sélection d’une fonction incompatible avec

une autre précédemment sélectionnée, la seule à être

activée sera celle choisie en dernier.

LED VERROUILLAGE PORTE :

L’allumage de ce voyant indique que le hublot est

verrouillé pour empêcher toute ouverture accidentelle et

éviter ainsi tout dommage. Pour pouvoir rouvrir le hublot,

attendez que la LED s'éteigne.

! Le clignotement rapide de la LED

en même temps

qu'une autre LED signale qu'une erreur s'est produite.

En bref : démarrage d’un programme

1. Mettez la machine sous tension en maintenant la touche

ON/OFF

enfoncée pendant au moins deux secondes.

Toutes les LEDS s'allument pendant quelques secondes

et la LED ALLUME-ETEINT reste allumée.

2. Chargez le linge et fermez le hublot.

3. Sélectionnez à l’aide du bouton PROGRAMMES le

programme désiré.

4. Sélectionnez la température de lavage (voir page

Personnalisation).

5. Sélectionnez la vitesse d’essorage (voir page

Personnalisation).

Démarrage et programmes

Remarque

Pour la fonction antifroissement : voir Repassage facile (

page suivante

). Les données dans le tableau sont reprises à titre

indicatif. Les durées indiquées pour les cycles sont approximatives.

Programmes spéciaux

Le lavage Quotidien 30' (programme 11 pour Synthétiques) est spécialement conçu pour laver du linge peu sale en un rien de

temps : il ne dure que 30 minutes et permet ainsi de faire des économies d’énergie et de temps. En optant pour ce programme (11

à 30°C), vous pourrez laver ensemble des textiles différents (sauf laine et soie) en ne dépassant pas 3 kg de charge.

•

Nous vous conseillons d’utiliser des lessives liquides.

6. Pour verser la lessive et éventuellement l’adoucissant

(voir Produits lessiviels et linge).

7. Lancez le programme en maintenant la touche

DÉMARRER/RESET

enfoncée pendant au moins deux

secondes.

8. A la fin du programme, la LED VERROUILLAGE PORTE

s'éteigne pour indiquer que le hublot peut être ouvert.

Sortez le linge et laissez le hublot entrouvert pour que le

tambour puisse sécher complètement. Mettez le lave-linge

hors tension en appuyant sur la touche ALLUMÉ/ÉTEINT

. Le voyant ALLUMÉ/ÉTEINT s’éteindra.

Versez la quantité d’assouplissant conseillée dans le bac

Lorsque vous sélectionnez le programme 1, versez le

produit de lessive dans le bac de prélavage et dans le bac

de lavage principal.

! N’utilisez pas de doseurs à introduire directement dans

le tambour avec le programme de prélavage n°1.

Préparation du linge

• Triez le linge en fonction des critères suivants :

- type de textile / symbole sur l’étiquette.

- couleurs : séparez le linge coloré du blanc.

• Videz les poches et vérifiez que les boutons sont bien

attachés.

• Ne dépassez pas les poids indiqués se référant à la

capacité maximale de linge sec :

! Pour éviter que la machine ne perde de son efficacité, ne

la surchagez pas.
