Safety Symbols and Meanings

The safety alert symbol indicates a potential personal

injury hazard. A signal word (DANGER, WARNING, or

CAUTION) is used with the alert symbol to designate a

degree or level of hazard seriousness. A safety symbol

may be used to represent the type of hazard. The signal

word NOTICE is used to address practices not related to

personal injury.

Equipment Description

This product is intended only for use as an optional

generator-system wireless control source for the owner.

It allows one to set priorities of assigned loads such as

heating, refrigeration systems, and communication systems

that are controlled by the generator. It also provides

generator status information to the InfoHub™ Cloud.

Before Installation

Only current licensed electrical professionals should

attempt wireless module installations. Installations must

strictly comply with all applicable codes, industry standards,

laws, and regulations.

In some areas you may need electrical permits for installing

wireless modules. The installer should check local codes

and obtain the necessary permits before installing the

module.

The gateway wireless module warranty is VOID unless the

module is installed by licensed electrical professionals.

Installer Responsibilities

• Read and observe the safety instructions.

• Read and follow the instructions in this installation

and operation manual.

• Installation must strictly comply with all applicable

codes, industry standards, laws, and regulations.

• Allow sufficient room on all sides of the wireless

The wireless module can be installed wherever it is convenient and a good wireless signal is present, either an indoor or outdoor

location. The

wireless gateway module

must be accessible for service. Discuss layout suggestions / changes with the owner before

beginning the system installation process.

Installation

It is recommended to use an 18AWG double-twisted shielded pair

wire to connect the

wireless gateway module

to the generator.

This wire is available from Briggs and Stratton™. For more

information please visit our website at

Mounting Guidelines

The power management modules are contained in a NEMA Type

4 enclosure. The wireless gateway module components are

contained in a NEMA Type 3R enclosure that is suitable for indoor/

outdoor use. The guidelines for mounting the enclosure include:

• Install enclosure on a firm, sturdy supporting structure.

• The enclosure must be accessible for service.

• NEVER install the device where any corrosive substance

might drip onto the enclosure.

• Protect the device at all times against excessive moisture,

dust, dirt, lint, construction grit and corrosive vapors.

• Install an enclosure to maximize wireless performance. Avoid

mounting the enclosure inside confined metal spaces. When

possible, mount enclosure in open area.

• The enclosure must be mounted vertically so that the grommet

(A, Figure 4 ) is on the bottom to prevent water from entering

the enclosure.

Disconnect the Power

Before performing any installation, maintenance, or service

on the generator, ALWAYS perform the following steps:

1. Set generator system switch to OFF

2. Set generator circuit breaker to OFF.

3. Remove the fuse from the main generator.

4. Utility voltage is present at generator control

panel. Remove the fuses from the transfer switch to

disconnect power before servicing the control panel.

5. Disconnect negative battery cable from negative

battery terminal, indicated by NEGATIVE, NEG, or (-).

Connect the Wires

Remove the cover (A, Figure 5) from the

wireless gateway

module

by loosening the screws (B) DO NOT remove the rubber

grommet (C) from the hole in the bottom of the box.

Wire the wireless gateway module inputs (A, Figure 6) to

the “WiFi” field wiring terminal blocks

of the generator (B). The

wireless gateway module

terminal block connections and the

generator terminal block connections must be torqued to 0.5 Nm

(4.4 in-lb).

1. Connect the red wire (C, Figure 6) to the “WiFi +12V”

terminal on the generator and the “VIN(+)” terminal on

the wireless gateway module.

2. Connect the black wire (F, Figure 6) to the

“WiFi GND” terminal on the generator and the “GND”

terminal on the wireless gateway module.

3. Connect the white wire (D, Figure 6) to the “WiFi A”

terminal on the generator and the “D+” terminal on the

wireless gateway module.

4. Connect the orange wire (E, Figure 6) to the “WiFi B”

terminal on the generator and the “D-” terminal on the

wireless gateway module.

5. Connect the shield wire (if present) from the cable

to either the GND terminal on the wireless gateway

module or the “WiFi GND” on the generator, NOT both.

Close Generator and Install Fuses

After performing any installation, maintenance, or service on

the generator, ALWAYS perform the following steps:

1. Use wire ties to organize the wires and to secure

excess wire lengths.

2. Install all the components that were removed.

3. Connect negative battery cable to negative battery

terminal, indicated by NEGATIVE, NEG, or (-).

4. Install the fuses into the transfer switch.

5. Install the generator fuse.

6. Set generator circuit breaker to ON.

7. Set generator system switch to AUTO/Standby.

The wireless gateway module should turn on automatically.

Verify that the POWER LED (A, Figure 1) is on.

Set up

Pairing is the process required to create a link between the

wireless gateway module

with the Amplify™ Power Management

System to allow wireless connection.

You must pair the devices to be able to make a wireless connection

for the first time.

Before you start the pairing operation, make sure that:

• The

wireless gateway module

is placed within range of

the Power Management System (see Mounting Guidelines

section).

• The

wireless gateway module

is plugged in and powered

on. The green power light (A, figure 1) is on and the MODE

LED (D, Figure 1) flashes light blue.

• Your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi

network that the wireless gateway module will be

connected to.

1. Download the Amplify

™

Power Management App

from the Google Play Store (Android) or the Apple

Play Store (iOS) to your phone, tablet or other mobile

device.

2. Install the Amplify

™

Power Management App and

launch it to get to the “GET STARTED” screen. Select

“Amplify™ Power Management” and push ENTER.

3. Select the menu in the upper-right hand corner.

4. Select “Wi-Fi.” The icon to the left of WiFi will change

if the wireless gateway module is already connected

to a WiFi network.

5. Put the wireless gateway module in “Wi-Fi Direct

Mode” by pushing and holding the WiFi Configuration

button (B, Figure 1) on the wireless gateway module

board for 5 seconds. The MODE LED (D, Figure 1)

will flash light blue. If the MODE LED does not flash

light blue, cycle power to the device then push and

hold the WiFi Configuration button (B, Figure 1) again

for 5 seconds.

6. Enter the mobile device’s Wi-Fi settings page and

search for available WiFi networks. The WiFi settings

page will differ depending on your mobile device’s

brand, type and network service provider.

Connect to the following network name:

BASCOGATEWAY-XXXXX. After selecting the

BASCOGATEWAY-XXXXX network from the mobile

device’s network list, return to the app and push the

“Yes” button on the initial WiFi screen.

7. You will prompted to enter the network SSID and

Password (both are case sensitive).The mobile

device will start pairing to the wireless gateway

module.

After the SSID and password are entered, the user

can then send the WiFi settings to the wireless

gateway module. If successful, the MODE LED (D,

Figure 1) will be dark blue. If it failed, the MODE LED

(D, Figure 1) will be red. Please try again.

NOTICE: The user can wait approximately 2 minutes

before the connection is established. The MODE

LED (D, Figure 1) will flash dark blue momentarily

and then green when a connection is made to the

InfoHub™ Cloud.

8. Your power management device shows up as

available. In this example it is showing that a 12kW

generator is available.

9. Select “Module Set-Up.” Add your

Power Management

Device.

Add loads by pressing the “Add New” button.”

10. Press the “Join” button on all of the power

management devices (G, Figure 2 / B, Figure 3).

Follow the on-screen prompts.

11. To identify a specific module select “Identify Device.”

The network LED (L, Figure 2 / F, Figure 3) will flash

green.

12. You can name the device to specifically what it is and

select an icon to represent it on the screen by tapping

the existing icon.

13. Select a value for nominal voltage of the appliance.

14. Push the save button to save your changes.

15. After pairing multiple modules the app screen will be

similar to the image below.

16. To arrange priorities push the “rearrange button.”

Then, in the “Rearrange Priorities” screen tap and

drag the line item to the desired priority location and

save your changes.

17. On the home screen you will see a list of active loads.

18. Tap the info button and it will give you a list of color

codes and what they mean.

subscription. You must register and activate the InfoHub system

on-line at www.infohubsp.com. User guides and instructional

videos are available at this site.

Subscription Service Agreement prior to activation of the monthly

subscription, and the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy prior to

accessing the InfoHub™ portal.

La instalación del módulo inalámbrico solo puede ser llevada

a cabo por electricistas con licencia vigente. Las instalaciones

deben cumplir estrictamente todos los reglamentos, las leyes,

los estándares industriales y los códigos pertinentes.

En algunas áreas es posible que necesite permisos eléctricos

para instalar módulos inalámbricos. El instalador debe revisar

los códigos locales y obtener los permisos antes de instalar el

módulo.

La garantía del módulo inalámbrico de puerta de enlace se

ANULARÁ salvo que electricistas profesionales con licencia

instalen el módulo.

Responsabilidades del instalador

El módulo inalámbrico puede instalarse donde resulte práctico y haya una buena señal inalámbrica, tanto en una ubicación en interiores

como en exteriores. Se debe poder acceder al

módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico

para realizar mantenimiento. Analice las

sugerencias o los cambios de disposición con el propietario antes de comenzar el proceso de instalación del sistema.

Instalación

Se recomienda utilizar un cable de par blindado de doble trenzado

de 18 AWG para conectar el

módulo de puerta de enlace

inalámbrico

al generador. Este cable está disponible de Briggs

and Stratton™. Para obtener más información, visite nuestro sitio

Pautas de montaje

Los módulos de administración de potencia están contenidos

en una caja NEMA de tipo 4. Los componentes del módulo de

puerta de enlace inalámbrico están alojados en un gabinete

NEMA tipo 3R, adecuado para uso en exteriores e interiores. Las

pautas para montar el gabinete comprenden lo siguiente:

• Instale el gabinete en una estructura de soporte firme y sólida.

• Se debe poder acceder a la caja para realizar mantenimiento.

• NUNCA instale el dispositivo donde haya riesgo de goteo de

sustancias corrosivas en la caja.

• Proteja el dispositivo en todo momento contra el exceso

de humedad, polvo, suciedad, pelusas, arenilla y vapores

corrosivos.

• Instale un gabinete para maximizar el rendimiento inalámbrico.

Evite colocar el gabinete dentro de espacios metálicos

cerrados, y cuando sea posible, colóquelo en un área abierta.

• El gabinete debe montarse verticalmente para que la arandela

(A, Figura 4) esté en la parte inferior para evitar que el agua

entre en el gabinete.

Desconecte la energía eléctrica

Antes de realizar cualquier labor de instalación o

mantenimiento en el generador, siga SIEMPRE los pasos

siguientes:

1. Coloque el interruptor del sistema generador en la

posición de apagado

2. Coloque el disyuntor de circuito del generador en la

posición de apagado.

3. Retire el fusible del generador principal.

4. El panel de control del generador recibe tensión

del suministro eléctrico de la red pública.

Desconecte la energía eléctrica antes de realizar

mantenimiento en el panel de control; para esto, retire

los fusibles de la llave de transferencia.

5. Desconecte el cable negativo de la batería del terminal

negativo de la batería (con la indicación NEGATIVO,

NEG o [-]).

Conecte los cables

Retire la cubierta (A, Figura 5) del

módulo de puerta de enlace

inalámbrico

aflojando los tornillos (B) NO retire la arandela de

goma (C) del orificio en la parte inferior de la caja.

Conecte las entradas del módulo de puerta de enlace

inalámbrico (A, Figura 6) a los bloques de terminales de

cableado de campo “WiFi”

del generador (B). Las conexiones

del bloque de terminales del

módulo de puerta de enlace

inalámbrico

y las conexiones del bloque de terminales del

generador deben apretarse a 0,5 Nm (4,4 in-lb).

1. Conecte el cable rojo (C, Figura 6) al terminal “WiFi

+12V” en el generador y el terminal “VIN(+)” en el

módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico.

2. Conecte el cable negro (F, Figura 6) al terminal

“WiFi GND” en el generador y el terminal “GND” en el

módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico.

3. Conecte el cable blanco (D, Figura 6) al terminal “WiFi

A” en el generador y el terminal “D+” en el módulo de

puerta de enlace inalámbrico.

4. Conecte el cable naranja (E, Figura 6) al terminal “WiFi

B” en el generador y el terminal “D-” en el módulo de

puerta de enlace inalámbrico.

5. Conecte el cable blindado (si está presente) del cable

al terminal GND en el módulo de puerta de enlace

inalámbrico o el “GND WiFi” en el generador, NO

ambos.

Cerrar el generador e instalar los fusibles

Después de realizar cualquier labor de instalación o

mantenimiento en el generador, siga SIEMPRE los pasos

siguientes:

1. Use los fijadores de cable para organizar los cables y

fijar el exceso de largo de cable.

2.Instale todos los componentes que se retiraron.

3.Conecte el cable de batería negro al terminal negativo

de la batería (indicado comoNEGATIVO, NEG, o [-]).

4.Instale los fusibles en la llave de transferencia.

5.Instale el fusible del generador.

6. Coloque el disyuntor de circuito del generador en la

posición de encendido.

7.Ponga el interruptor del sistema generador en

AUTOMÁTICO/Standby.

El módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico debe encenderse

automáticamente. Verifique que la LUZ LED DE POTENCIA

(A, Figura 1) esté encendida.

Configuración general

El emparejamiento es el proceso necesario para crear un vínculo

entre el

módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico

y el sistema

de administración de potencia Amplify™ para permitir una conexión

inalámbrica.

Debe emparejar los dispositivos para poder realizar una conexión

inalámbrica por primera vez.

Antes de iniciar la operación de emparejamiento, asegúrese de lo

1. Descargue la aplicación de administración de potencia

en la Google Play Store (Android) o la Apple

Play Store (iOS) a su teléfono, tableta u otro dispositivo

móvil.

2. Instale la aplicación de administración de potencia

Amplify

™

e iníciela para ir a la pantalla “PARA

COMENZAR”. Seleccione “Administración de potencia

Amplify™” y presione INTRO.

3. Seleccione el menú en la esquina superior derecha.

4. Seleccione “WiFi”. El icono a la izquierda de

WiFi cambiará si el módulo de puerta de enlace

inalámbrico ya está conectado a una red wifi.

5. Coloque el módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico

en “Modo directo de wifi” presionando y sosteniendo

el botón de configuración de wifi (B, Figura 1) en el

tablero del módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico

durante 5 segundos. La LUZ LED DE MODO (D,

Figura 1) parpadeará en azul claro. Si la LUZ LED

DE MODO no parpadea en azul claro, apague y

encienda el dispositivo y mantenga pulsado el botón

de configuración de wifi (B, Figura 1) de nuevo

durante 5 segundos.

6. Ingresa la página de configuración de wifi del

dispositivo móvil y busca las redes wifi disponibles.

La página de configuración de wifi variará en función

de la marca, el tipo y el proveedor de servicios de red

de su dispositivo móvil.

Conéctese al siguiente nombre de red:

BASCOGATEWAY-XXXXX. Después de seleccionar

la red BASCOGATEWAY-XXXXX de la lista de

redes del dispositivo móvil, regrese a la aplicación y

presione el botón “Sí” en la pantalla de wifi inicial.

7. Se le solicitará que ingrese el identificador de

conjunto de servicio (Service Set Identifier, SSID)

y la contraseña de la red (ambos distinguen entre

mayúsculas y minúsculas). El dispositivo móvil

iniciará el emparejamiento con el módulo de puerta

de enlace inalámbrico.

Después de ingresar el SSID y la contraseña, el

usuario puede enviar la configuración de wifi al

módulo de puerta de enlace inalámbrico. Si se

realiza correctamente, la LUZ LED DE MODO (D,

Figura 1) será de color azul oscuro. Si no se realiza

correctamente, la LUZ LED DE MODO (D, Figura 1)

será de color rojo. Intente nuevamente.

AVISO: El usuario puede esperar aproximadamente

2 minutos antes de que se establezca la conexión.

La LUZ LED DE MODO (D, Figura 1) parpadeará

en azul oscuro momentáneamente y luego verde

cuando se realiza una conexión a la nube InfoHub™.

8. Su dispositivo de administración de potencia aparece

como disponible. En este ejemplo se muestra que un

generador de 12 kW está disponible.

9. Seleccione “Configuración del módulo”. Agregue

dispositivo de administración de potencia.

Agregue

cargas presionando el botón “Agregar uno nuevo”.

10. Presione el botón “Unirse” en todos los dispositivos

de administración de potencia (G, Figura 2 / B, Figura

3). Siga las indicaciones que aparecen en pantalla.
