HYDRAULIC PRECAUTIONS
DANGER! Seek immediate medical attention if hydraulic fluid
under pressure penetrates your skin. See Injection Injury
precautions for instructions before using a pressurized
hydraulic system.
1. Do not touch or handle hydraulic hoses or components
while under pressure. Hydraulic fluid escaping under
pressure has sufficient force to penetrate your clothing and
skin. A pinpoint hole may inject hydraulic fluid into your
body. Seek immediate medical attention if this occurs (see
Injection Injury).
2. Never exceed the hydraulic system’s load capacity
(see Specifications).
3. Do not adjust the hydraulic system’s relief setting. The
settings are preset by the factory.
8667784 1,000 LB HYDRAULIC/PNEUMATIC MOTORCYCLE LIFT V1.2
6 For technical questions call 1-800-665-8685
4. Hydraulic oil under pressure is hot and can cause a burn
injury if touched, sprayed or spilled. Allow the hydraulic
system to cool before conducting maintenance.
5. Hydraulic components require regular inspection. Release
all pressure from the system before you inspect it. Replace
damaged hydraulic parts with identical manufacturer's
components.
6. Do not attempt makeshift repairs to a hydraulic system. Such
repairs can fail suddenly and create a hazardous condition.
7. Hydraulic fluid has a combustible flash point of 200°F
(93°F). Do not expose the fluid to an ignition source.
8. Change your clothing immediately if sprayed with hydraulic
fluid. Store clothing or rags contaminated with hydraulic
fluid in an approved metal safety can with a spring-closing
lid and venting designed to contain a fire.
9. Only use hydraulic fluid in the pump. Do not substitute or
mix brake fluid, or any other fluid, with the hydraulic fluid.
This can result in a pump failure and injure the user or
bystander. It may also damage the pump.
INJECTION INJURY
DANGER! Seek immediate, professional medical treatment if
fluid penetrates your skin. It may feel like a pricking or sting.
Do not wait for the appearance of symptoms. A toxic reaction
can occur from the exposure. Delay in treatment can lead to
amputation or death.
Inform the medical staff that you have a fluid penetration injury
as soon as you arrive at the medical facility. The severity of the
symptoms will depend on the type of fluid injected. Bring the
Safety Data Sheet for the fluid with you to the medical facility
if possible.

INJECTION PRECAUTIONS
Fluid can penetrate the skin at 100 PSI pressure. Fluid escaping
under pressure from the tool has sufficient force to penetrate
your clothing and skin. Follow the precautions below to avoid
an injection injury.
1. Always check for leaks wearing a face shield, safety
goggles, rubberized gloves and protective clothes.
2. Release all pressure from the system before you inspect it.
3. Do not use your hands to detect a fluid leak. Use a large piece
of wood, cardboard or paper and watch for discolouration.
4. Replace damaged parts with identical manufacturer's
components to ensure it is rated to handle the pressure.

OPERATION
Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included
Identification Key.
Bleed the hydraulic system before first use and after a long
time in storage (see Care & Maintenance).
1. Lower the platform (C) to the lowest position and check all
nuts and bolts for tightness.
V1.2 1,000 LB HYDRAULIC/PNEUMATIC MOTORCYCLE LIFT 8667784
Visit www.princessauto.com for more information 9
2. Open the release valve on the hydraulic pump (N) and
quickly pump the foot pedal (K) several times to purge air
from the hydraulic system. Close the release valve.
3. Turn the lock bolts (H) until the casters (I) are slightly off the
ground to prevent the lift from rolling. Ensure the lift is level.
4. Tilt the wheel chock (B) so the wheel can easily roll into it.
Push the motorcycle or dirt bike up the ramp (E) onto the
platform (C), then into the wheel chock. Push the wheel
forward until the chock flips forward and the wheel is snug
against the wheel rest.
5. Secure the motorcycle/dirt bike with tie down straps (sold
separately).
6. Repeatedly depress the foot pedal (K) to slowly to raise the
platform. Stop once the table is at the maximum height.
Continuing to increase the pressure can damage the
mechanism or cause a failure in the hydraulic system.
Pressurized air can be used to raise the lift instead of the
foot pedal.
6.1 Ensure the air source pressure does not exceed the
pump’s maximum capacity (see Specifications).
6.2 Attach the valve of the air hose (M) to an air source.
6.3 Press the valve trigger to allow a steady airflow into
the pump. Do not apply air in bursts as this will jolt the
pump and load. This may damage to the lift or cause
the load to shift and fall.
7. Slide the safety bar (G) completely through the holes on
both sides of the front arm support (F). This will prevent
the lift from accidentally descending.
8. When work is complete, remove the safety bar and press the
pressure release pedal (J) and pump the foot pedal (K) to
gently lower the load. Never allow the load to come down
quickly as it can damage the pump or lift’s mechanism.
Ensure the ramp extends correctly.
8667784 1,000 LB HYDRAULIC/PNEUMATIC MOTORCYCLE LIFT V1.2
10 For technical questions call 1-800-665-8685
8.1 Tighten the speed control valve on the hydraulic pump
(N) clockwise to slow the descent speed. Turn the valve
counterclockwise to increase the descent speed.
9. Remove the tie down straps and pull the motorcycle/dirt
bike free of the wheel chock. Walk the vehicle off the
platform and ramp.
10. To store the lift, turn the lock bolts (H) until the casters
touch the ground.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is
efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace
damaged or worn components. Only use identical
replacement parts when servicing.
3. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
4. Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil/grease at
all times.
5. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry
important information. If unreadable or missing, contact
Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the
tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the
user and/or others.
LUBRICATION
Inspect and lubricate the tool when required. Lubricate
mechanical parts of the lift like the foot or release pedal with
heavy oil or grease.
AIR TOOL LUBRICATION
NOTICE! Only use air tool oil to lubricate the pump. Other
lubricants are not suitable and will damage the pump or
cause a malfunction during use.
V1.2 1,000 LB HYDRAULIC/PNEUMATIC MOTORCYCLE LIFT 8667784
Visit www.princessauto.com for more information 11
NOTICE! Never use a penetrating oil to lubricate the pump.
Penetrating oil acts as a solvent that will dissolve the pump’s
grease packing and may damage the o-rings, causing the
pump to seize or malfunction.
1. Manually add a drop or two of air tool oil into the tool’s
male connector before each use and after every hour of
continuous use. Attach the air source and operate for three
seconds to distribute the oil. The tool will not work
properly without lubrication and parts will wear
prematurely.
2. Avoid adding too much air tool oil as this can cause
premature power loss and eventual tool failure. A qualified
technician will need to take the tool apart and clean out the
excess oil.
BLEEDING THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Bleed excess air from the hydraulic system as follows:
1. Open the release valve by depressing the pressure release
pedal (J).
2. Remove the oil filler plug and fill the pump with hydraulic
fluid.
3. Wait 5 minutes for trapped air to rise to the surface.
4. Pump the foot pedal (K) quickly for several full strokes to
eliminate any air in the system. Keep the release valve open.
5. Check the oil filler hole and if necessary, top off with more
hydraulic oil.
6. Restore the oil filler plug. Close the release valve by
restoring the pressure release pedal (J) to its original
position.
7. Test the ram several times for proper operation before
putting it into use. Do not use the ram if it still does not
appear to be working properly. Have a qualified service
technician service or repair the hydraulic system.

12 For technical questions call 1-800-665-8685
STORAGE
When not in use for an extended period, apply a thin coat of
lubricant to the steel parts to avoid rust. Remove the lubricant
before using the tool again.
Lower the lift before storing. Retract the pump’s ram fully to
protect it from corrosion. Extend the lock bolts (H) to raise the
wheels from the ground to prevent it from moving.
DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.
Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or
by-laws for electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT pollute the environment by allowing
uncontrolled discharge of waste oil.
DISPOSAL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID
Do not drain hydraulic oil into the sewer system or dispose in
an uncontrolled location. Hydraulic fluid may take up to a year
to break down in the environment and the ingredients may still
be toxic. Contact your local municipality for proper disposal
instructions or locations.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does
not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so,
have a qualified technician service the tool.
