 Read all the instructions before using

the product.

 To reduce the risk of injury, close su-

pervision is necessary when a prod-

uct is used near children.

 Know how to stop the product and

bleed pressures quickly. Be thor-

oughly familiar with the controls.

 Stay alert – watch what you are do-

 Do not operate the product when fa-

tigued or under the influence of alco-

hol or drugs.

 Keep operating area clear of all per-

 Follow the maintenance instructions

 This product is provided with a

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter built

into the power cord plug. If replace-

ment of the plug or cord is needed,

use only identical replacement parts.

 IF CONNECTION IS MADE TO A PO-

TABLE WATER SYSTEM, THE SYS-

TEM SHALL BE PROTECTED

AGAINST BACKFLOW.

In a double-insulated product, two sys-

tems of insulation are provided instead

of grounding. No grounding means is

provided on a double-insulated product,

nor should a means for grounding be

added to the product. Servicing a dou-

ble-insulated product requires extreme

care and knowledge of the system, and

should be done only by qualified service

personnel. Replacement parts for a dou-

ble-insulated product must be identical

to the parts they replace. A doubleinsu-

lated product is marked with the words

“DOUBLE INSULATION” or “DOUBLE

INSULATED”. The symbol “ ” may also

be marked on the product.

This pressure washer is provided with a

ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI)

built into the plug of the power-supply

cord. This device provides additional

protection from the risk of electric shock.

Should replacement of the plug or cord

become necessary, use only identical

replacement parts that include GFCI

protection.

 CAUTION

When connecting the water inlet to the

water supply mains, local regulations of

your water company must be observed.

In some areas the unit must not be con-

nected directly to the public drinking wa-

ter supply. This is to ensure that there is

no feedback of chemicals into the water

supply. Direct connection via a receiver

tank or backflow preventer, for example,

is permitted.

Dirt in the feed water will damage the

unit. To avoid this risk, we recommend

fitting a water filter.

 Garden hose must be at least 1/2

inch or 5/8 inch in diameter.

 Flow rate of water supply must not

fall below 2 GPM (gallons per min-

ute).

 Flow rate can be determined by run-

ning the water for one minute into an

empty 5-gallon container.

 The water supply temperature must

not exceed 104°F/40°C.

 Never use the pressure washer to

draw in water contaminated with sol-

vents, e.g. paint thinners, gasoline,

oil, etc.

 Always prevent debris from being

drawn into the unit by using a clean

water source.

STEP 1:

Insert wheels into the body of the unit.

Î STEP 2:

Slide the transport handle into place.

Î STEP 3:

Install the supplied connector to the

unit’s water inlet.

Note: Never attach the garden hose

connector to the unit’s water inlet!

Î STEP 4:

Fasten the quick connect to the high

pressure outlet.

Î STEP 5:

Insert one end of the high pressure

hose into the trigger gun until it locks

audibly.

Note: Make sure the connection nip-

ple is aligned correctly. Check the

connection by pulling on the high

pressure hose.

Check the secure connection by pull-

ing on the high pressure hose.

Disconnect:

Î Press the disconnect key on the trig-

ger gun and remove the high pres-

sure hose from the trigger gun.

Î STEP 1:

Insert one end of the high pressure

hose tightly into the quick connect on

the unit, it will lock in audibly.

Note: Make sure the connection nip-

ple is aligned correctly. Check the

connection by pulling on the high

pressure hose.

Check the secure connection by pull-

ing on the high pressure hose.

STEP 2:

Insert the spray wand of your choice

into the trigger gun. Press in against

the spring tension and twist into

locked position.

Î STEP 3:

1 Screw the supplied garden hose con-

nector on to the end of your garden

hose.

2 Push the garden hose connector on

to the water inlet connector and

make sure you hear it click into place

before proceeding.

Î STEP 4:

Connect garden hose to the cold wa-

ter source and turn water on com-

pletely.

Î STEP 5:

Plug the Ground Fault Circuit Inter-

rupter (GFCI) into a working outlet.

We recommend that you test the GFCI as

part of your startup procedure each time

you use your pressure washer. To learn

how to peform this test on your unit, visit

http://www.karcherresidential.com/

gfci_test.php for detailed instructions for

your type of GFCI.

 WARNING

Do not use if above test fails.

Note: The actual appearance of the GFCI

may be different from this illustration.

STEP 6:

Unlock the trigger gun safety lock.

Trigger the gun to eliminate trapped

air, wait for a steady flow of water to

emerge from the spray nozzle.

Î STEP 7:

Turn on the high pressure washer (I/

ON).

The motor starts only if the trigger

of the gun is pulled and shuts off

when the trigger is released.

 WARNING

To avoid serious injury never point

spray nozzle at yourself, other per-

sons or animals.

Always test an inconspicuous area

before cleaning with high pressure.

 This nozzle features a 0º pencil jet

which rotates 360º for maximum dirt

cutting action, effectively increasing

cleaning performance up to 50%.

This nozzle combines the cleaning

performance of a 0º pencil jet with

the surface coverage of a wide angle

nozzle.

Not recommended for soft materi-

als, siding, painted surfaces,

decks or autos.

 Before cleaning any surface an in-

conspicuous area should be cleaned

to test spray pattern and distance for

maximum cleaning results.

 The Vario Power Spray Wand allows

you to adjust the cleaning pressure.

To clean at maximum pressure, the

wand must be positioned to the high

pressure setting (Max).

For reduced pressure turn the wand

collar in the „Min“ direction.

To apply detergent, the wand must

be positioned to the low pressure

setting (Mix).

Detergents can only be applied at low

pressure (Min).

Î STEP 1:

Install the Vario Power Spray Wand.

Set the spray wand to the low pres-

sure setting (Mix).

Î STEP 2:

Fill the Detergent Tank with the se-

lected detergent.

Î STEP 3:

Turn on the pressure washer (I). Pull

trigger to operate unit. Liquid detergent

is drawn into the unit and mixed with

water. Apply detergent to work area. Do

not allow detergent to dry on surface.

Î STEP 4:

To rinse, move the VPS out of „Mix“

position and pull trigger to operate unit.

Î STEP 5:

Cleaning up: Always draw fresh wa-

ter through the detergent tank or si-

phon tube when done to flush any

Push the housing of the quick con-

nect toward the rear and disconnect

the high pressure hose from the unit.

1 Disconnect all water connections.

2 Turn on the machine for a few sec-

onds, until the water which had re-

mained in the pump exits, turn off

immediately.

3 Do not allow high pressure hose to

become kinked.

4 Store the machine and accessories

in a room which does not reach

freezing temperatures. DO NOT

store near furnace or other sources

of heat as it may dry out the pump

seals.

Failure to follow the above directions will

result in damage to the pump assembly

and accessories and will void the war-

practice of using a pump protector like

Pump Guard” to prevent cold

weather damage during storage in the

pliers.

Rinse out water inlet filter in warm

loose paint from the surface.

 When using on surfaces which might

come in contact with food, flush sur-

faces with plenty of drinking water.

(with or without detergent). Pre-rinse

deck and surrounding area with fresh

water. If using detergent, apply to sur-

face at low pressure. For best results,

limit your work area to smaller sections

of approximately 25 square feet. Allow

detergent to remain on surface 1-3 min-

utes. Do not allow detergent to dry on

surface. Rinse at high pressure in a long

sweeping motion keeping the spray noz-

zle approximately 3-6 inches from the

cleaning surface. Always clean from top

to bottom and from left to right. When

moving on to a new section of the clean-

ing surface, be sure to overlap the previ-

ous section to eliminate stop marks and

ensure a more even cleaning result.

cleaning surface with fresh water. If us-

ing detergent, apply to surface at low

pressure (for best results, limit your

work area to sections of approximately

6 feet and always apply detergent from

bottom to top). Allow detergent to re-

main on surface 1-3 minutes. Do not al-

surface appears to be drying, simply wet

down surface with fresh water. If need-

ed, use special wash brush attachment

(not included) to remove stubborn dirt.

Rinse at high pressure from top to bot-

tom in an even sweeping motion keep-

ing the spray nozzle approximately

6 inches from the cleaning surface.

(with or without detergent). Pre-rinse

cleaning surface with fresh water. If us-

ing detergent or Degreaser, apply to

surface at low pressure. For best re-

sults, limit your work area to smaller sec-

tions of approximately 25 square feet.

Allow detergent or Degreaser to remain

on surface 1-3 minutes. Do not allow de-

tergent to dry on surface. Rinse at high

pressure in a sweeping motion keeping

the spray nozzle approximately 3-6

inches from the cleaning surface. Al-

ways clean from top to bottom and from

left to right. For removing extremely

stubborn stains, use the Dirtblaster

Nozzle.

vehicle with fresh water. If using deter-

gent, apply to surface at low pressure.

For best results, clean one side of vehi-

cle at a time and always apply detergent

from bottom to top, do not allow deter-

gent to dry on surface. If needed, use

special wash brush attachment (not in-

cluded) to remove stubborn dirt. Rinse

at high pressure in a sweeping motion

keeping the spray nozzle approximately

6-8 inches from the cleaning surface

(distance should increase when rinsing

pin-striping or other sensitive surfaces).

Un aparato dotado de doble aislamiento

incorpora dos sistemas de aislamiento

en lugar de la puesta a tierra. Es decir,

los equipos dotados de doble aislamien-

to no incorporan ningún conductor ni

dispositivo des puesta a tierra ni hay

que acoplar adicionalmente a los mis-

mos una puesta a tierra. Los trabajos de

mantenimiento de un equipo dotado de

un sistema de doble aislamiento requie-

ren unos conocimientos particularmente

amplios y completos de dicho dispositi-

vo y del aparato en cuestión, debiendo

ser ejecutados exclusivamente por per-

sonal especializado del Servicio Técni-

co Postventa Oficial. En caso de tener

que sustituir piezas o componentes de-

fectuosos del sistema de doble aisla-

miento, las piezas de repuesto deberán

ser idénticas a las piezas defectuosas

que deben sustituir. Los artefactos con

doble aislamiento están marcados "DO-

UBLE INSULATION" o "DOUBLE INSU-

LATED". También podría tener el

símbolo “ ”.

Este producto se suministra con un inte-

rruptor de circuito de avería por puesta

a tierra montado en el enchufe del cable

de potencia. Este aparato proporciona

una protección adicional contra el riesgo

de electrochoque. Si es necesario re-

emplazar el enchufe o el cable, utilice

piezas idénticas.

 ATENCIÓN

Al conectar la toma de agua a la red de

suministro del agua, es obligatorio res-

petar la normativa local establecida por

la compañía del agua. En algunas zo-

nas, está prohibido conectar la unidad

directamente a la red pública de sumi-

nistro de agua potable. Esto es así para

garantizar que no penetren sustancias

químicas en la red de suministro del

agua. Sí se permite efectuar la conexión

directamente por ejemplo a través de un

depósito receptor o un dispositivo anti-

rretorno.

Si el agua de alimentación está sucia, la

unidad sufrirá daños. Para evitar este

riesgo, le recomendamos que monte un

filtro de agua.

 La manguera de agua tiene que te-

ner al menos 1/2“ (13 mm) pulgadas

de diámetro.

 El caudal de agua no debe ser infe-

rior a 450 l/h (litros por hora).

 El caudal de agua se puede determi-

nar llenando de agua un recipiente

vacío de 8 litros durante un minuto.

 La temperatura de la toma de agua

no debe sobrepasar los 104°F/40°C.

 No utilice nunca el limpiador a pre-

sión para aspirar agua contaminada

con disolventes como, p. ej., diluyen-

tes de pintura, gasolina, aceite, etc.

 Evite siempre que la unidad aspire

residuos utilizando una fuente de

abastecimiento cuya agua esté lim-

pia.

PASO 1:

Colocar y encajar las ruedas en el

Nota: Procurar que el racor de co-

nexión esté alineado correctamente.
