This appliance is intended to be used in household

and similar applications such as:

• Staff kitchen areas in shops, ofﬁ ces and other

working environments;

• Farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and

other residential type environments;

• Bed and breakfast type environments;

• Catering and similar non-retail applications.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance must be grounded. Grounding

reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an

escape wire for the electrical current.

This appliance has a cord that has a grounding

wire with a 3-prong plug. The power cord must be

plugged into an outlet that is properly grounded.

If the outlet is a 2-prong wall outlet, it must be

replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall

outlet. The serial rating plate indicates the voltage

and frequency the appliance is designed for.

WARNING - Improper use of the grounding

plug can result in a risk of electric shock.

Consult a qualiﬁ ed electrician or service agent

if the grounding instructions are not completely

understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the

appliance is properly grounded.

Do not connect your appliance to extension

cords or together with another appliance in the

same wall outlet. Do not splice the power cord.

Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the

third ground prong from the power cord. Do not

use extension cords or ungrounded (two prongs)

adapters.

If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be

replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or

similar qualiﬁ ed person in order to avoid hazard.

LOCATION

• Two people should be used when moving the

appliance. Place the appliance on a ﬂ oor that

is strong enough to support it when it is fully

loaded.

• Remove interior and exterior packaging prior to

installation. Wipe the outside of the appliance

with a soft, dry cloth and the inside with a

lukewarm wet cloth.

• Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or

near sources of heat, such as a stove or heater,

as this can increase electrical consumption.

Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also

cause the appliance to perform improperly.

• Do not use the appliance near water, for

example, in a wet basement or near a sink.

• This appliance is intended for indoor household

and garage use only. Freezers are tested to

perform in temperatures ranging from -17 -

43°C (0 - 110°F). It is not designed for outside

installation, including anywhere that is not

temperature controlled.

• Before connecting the appliance to a power

source, let it stand upright for approximately

6 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a

malfunction in the cooling system from handling

during transportation.

• This appliance is 82.7 cm (32.6 inches) wide by

84.6 cm (33.3 inches) high by 55.6 cm (21.9

inches) deep.

• Allow 12.7 cm (5 inches) of space between the

back and sides of the appliance and all adjacent

walls for proper air ventilation.

• This appliance is intended for free-standing

installation only and is not intended to be

built into a cabinet or counter. Building in this

appliance can cause it to malfunction.

CONTROL PANEL

1. Power indicator light: Illuminates when the

appliance is connected to a working power

source.

2. Freezer indicator light: Illuminates when the

appliance is set to run as a freezer.

LEVELING INSTRUCTIONS

There are two adjustable legs on the bottom of the

appliance that can be turned up or down to ensure

that the appliance is level. It is important that the

appliance is level to minimize noise and vibration.

Move the appliance to its ﬁ nal location. Turn the

leveling leg counter-clockwise as far as it will go,

until the top of the foot is touching the bottom of the

cabinet. Slowly turn the leveling leg clockwise until

the appliance is level.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

TEMPERATURE SETTING

This appliance can be used as a refrigerator or

a freezer. The temperature can be controlled

by setting the thermostat dial on the front of the

cabinet.

Refrigerator Use

To use the appliance as a refrigerator, set the

thermostat dial in the “REFRIGERATOR” range.

Using this setting allows the appliance to store fresh

food and beverages. The internal temperature will

be between 0 - 8°C (32 - 46.4°F).

There are refrigerant lines in the cabinet walls that

will get very cold. When using the appliance as a

refrigerator, keep food items away from the cabinet

walls to avoid freezing food.

Freezer Use

To use the appliance as a freezer, set the thermostat

dial in the “FREEZER” range. Using this setting

allows the appliance to store frozen foods and ice.

The internal temperature will be between -12 -

-24°C (10.4 - -11.2°F).

Do not place liquid items in sealed bottles or

containers into the appliance when it is being used

as a freezer to avoid damage cause by expansion

and cracking of the container.

IMPORTANT

This appliance is considered “Garage Ready” if it

is being used as a freezer. If the thermostat dial is

set in the “REFRIGERATOR” range, the appliance

should only be used in climate controlled spaces.

Conversion Notes

When using the appliance as a refrigerator,

condensation may form on the walls and bottom

of the cabinet. This is normal and does not impact

the operation of the appliance. This condensed

water can be removed from the cabinet using the

defrosting instructions.

If the appliance has been used as a freezer and

will be converted to use as a refrigerator, a large

amount of condensation may form on the cabinet

walls. Please check that all food items have been

removed to avoid unwanted food defrosting. Defrost

and clean the appliance before resuming use to

avoid water accumulation inside the cabinet.

Other Important Notes

• MIN indicates the warmest setting.

• MAX indicates the coldest setting.

• Setting the thermostat dial in the middle of the

MIN-MAX range should be sufﬁ cient for regular

home use.

• Setting the thermostat to MAX in the “FREEZER”

range will cause the compressor to run

continuously and will make the interior very

cold. It is not recommended to run the appliance

at this setting for long periods of time.

• The temperature inside the appliance can

vary based on ambient room temperature, the

frequency that the lid is opened and the amount

of fresh food that has recently been added.

• Do not overload the appliance as this can affect

performance. Do not freeze large quantities of

fresh food at the same time.

• The lid may be difﬁ cult to open immediately

after closing it. This is normal and is due to the

pressure difference between the cold interior

of the appliance and the warm air that has just

entered the appliance when the lid was opened.

The pressure will equalize within a few minutes.

If the lid is especially difﬁ cult to open, wait 5

minutes to allow the pressure to equalize and

then try again.

IMPORTANT

Never use electrical appliances during

defrosting. Do not use pointed or sharp

objects to remove frost as this can damage the

refrigerant lines. If these lines are accidentally

pierced it will render the freezer inoperable and

void the manufacturer’s warranty.

DEFROSTING OR REMOVING CONDENSED WATER

This appliance should be defrosted approximately twice a year or

when the layer of frost inside the cabinet is 6 mm (1/4 inch) thick.

If the appliance is being used as a refrigerator, this process should

be used to remove the condensed water that will accumulate inside

the cabinet. Condensed water should be removed regularly to

prevent water from soaking and damaging food items.

1. To prepare, unplug the appliance and either move it to an area

that has a ﬂ oor drain or place the provided drain pan in front

of the drain on the front of the cabinet.

2. The interior drain is located on the inside ﬂ oor of the cabinet.

Remove the cover from the drain. Defrosted or condensed water

will ﬂ ow into the hole and out through the exterior defrost drain

cap.

3. The exterior defrost drain cap is located on the front of the

cabinet. Gently pull out approximately 20 - 25 mm, until the

water hole is visible.

4. Twist the exterior drain cap so that the arrow points downward.

Make sure that the drain or pan is under the hole to collect

the water. Allow the appliance to stand with the lid open as it

defrosts or drains. Check the appliance regularly to ensure that

the water is not overﬂ owing.

5. When all water has been drained, twist the drain cap until the

arrow is pointing upwards and then push inward until it is ﬂ ush

with the cabinet.

6. Replace the cover in the interior defrost drain. Set the thermostat

to MAX for approximately 2 hours before returning to the

desired temperature setting.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CLEANING

• Ensure the appliance is unplugged before

cleaning.

• Clean the inside and outside of the appliance

with a soft, damp cloth and some mild

detergent.

• It is important to keep the area where the lid

seals against the cabinet clean to ensure a tight

seal. Clean this area with a soapy cloth. Rinse

with a damp cloth and dry.

• Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or

alcohol as these can damage the appearance

of the appliance. Never use any commercial or

abrasive cleaners or sharp objects on any part

of the appliance.

• Allow the interior of the appliance to completely

dry before plugging it back in and returning

food items.

POWER FAILURE

Most power failures are corrected within a few

hours and should not affect the temperature of your

appliance if you minimize the number of times the

lid is opened. If the power is going to be off for

a longer period of time, take the proper steps to

protect your contents. Wait 3 to 5 minutes before

attempting to restart the refrigerator if operation

has been interrupted.

ENERGY SAVING TIP

The appliance should be located in the coolest area

of the room, away from heat producing appliances,

and out of direct sunlight. Do not overload the unit

or block any ventilation openings.

VACATION

You may leave the appliance operating during

vacations of less than three weeks. If the appliance

will not be used for several months, remove all items

and unplug the appliance. Defrost, clean and dry

the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold

growth, leave the lid open slightly, blocking it open

if necessary.

MOVING

• Remove all items and ensure the interior of the

appliance is clean and dry.

• Tape the lid shut.

• Be sure the appliance stays secure in the upright

position during transportation.

• Protect the outside of the appliance with a

blanket or similar item.

• If the appliance is placed on its back or side

during transportation, upon reaching the

destination, allow it to remain in its operating

position for 6 hours to reduce the possibility of a

malfunction in the cooling system.

DISPOSAL

This appliance may not be treated as regular

household waste, it should be taken to the

appropriate waste collection point for recycling

of electrical components. For information on local

waste collection points, contact your local waste

removal agency or government ofﬁ ce. Disposal of

this appliance should be in accordance with federal

and local regulations.

The appliance is making a

gurgling noise; why? This noise is completely normal. The refrigerant inside the appliance will

make a gurgling noise as it changes from a liquid to a gas and back again.

What is the electrical

rating? This information can be found on the rating place located on the back or

side of the cabinet.

Can I use an extension

cord? No, an extension cord may not be used

Can I use this appliance in

a garage? Yes, this appliance is considered “Garage Ready” when it is being used as

a freezer. If the appliance is being used as a refrigerator, it should only be

used in climate controlled spaces.

I am having trouble

opening the lid; why? The appliance lid may be difﬁ cult to open immediately after closing it. This

is normal and is due to the pressure difference between the cold interior of

the freezer and the warm air that has just entered the appliance when it was

opened. The pressure will equalize within a few minutes.

depot. Any appliance requiring service outside the limited boundaries of “In Home Service”, will be the consumer’s

responsibility to transport at their own expense to the original point of purchase or a service depot for repair. If the

appliance is installed in a location that is 100 kilometers (62 miles) or more from the nearest service center, it must

be delivered to the nearest authorized Danby Service Depot by the purchaser.

Transportation charges to and from the service location are not protected by this warranty and are the

responsibility of the purchaser.

During the ﬁrst ﬁve (5) years, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or

INSTRUCTIONS DE MISE À LA TERRE

Cet appareil doit être mis à la terre. La mise à

la terre réduit le risque de choc électrique en

fournissant un ﬁ l d’échappement pour le courant

électrique.

Cet appareil possède un cordon doté d’un ﬁ l de

mise à la terre avec une ﬁ che à 3 broches. Le

cordon d’alimentation doit être branché sur une

prise correctement mise à la terre. Si la sortie

est une prise murale à 2 broches, elle doit être

remplacée par une prise murale à 3 broches

EMPLACEMENT

• Deux personnes doivent être utilisées pour

déplacer l’appareil. Placez l’appareil sur un sol

l’installation. Essuyez l’extérieur de l’appareil

INSTRUCTIONS DE MISE À NIVEAU

Il y a deux pieds réglables au bas de l’appareil

qui peuvent être tournés vers le haut ou vers le

bas pour s’assurer que l’appareil est de niveau.

Il est important que l’appareil soit de niveau pour

minimiser le bruit et les vibrations.

Déplacez l’appareil à son emplacement déﬁ nitif.

Tournez le pied de nivellement dans le sens inverse

des aiguilles d’une montre aussi loin que possible,

jusqu’à ce que le haut du pied touche le bas de

l’armoire. Tournez lentement le pied de nivellement

dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce

que l’appareil soit de niveau.

RÉGLAGE DE LA TEMPÉRATURE

Cet appareil peut être utilisé comme réfrigérateur

ou congélateur. La température peut être contrôlée

en réglant le cadran du thermostat sur le devant de

l’armoire.

Utilisation du réfrigérateur

Pour utiliser l’appareil comme réfrigérateur,

réglez le cadran du thermostat sur la plage

«Réfrigérateur». L’utilisation de ce réglage permet

à l’appareil de stocker des aliments frais et des

boissons. La température interne sera comprise

entre 0 et 8 °C (32 et 46,4 °F).

Il y a des conduites de réfrigérant dans les parois

de l’armoire qui deviendront très froides. Lorsque

vous utilisez l’appareil comme réfrigérateur, gardez

les aliments éloignés des parois de l’armoire pour

éviter qu’ils ne congèlent.

Utilisation du congélateur

Pour utiliser l’appareil comme congélateur, réglez le

cadran du thermostat sur la plage «Congélateur».

L’utilisation de ce réglage permet à l’appareil de

stocker des aliments surgelés et de la glace. La

température interne sera comprise entre -12 et -24

°C (10,4 et -11,2 °F).

Ne placez pas d’articles liquides dans des bouteilles

ou des récipients scellés dans l’appareil lorsqu’il est

utilisé comme congélateur pour éviter les dommages

causés par l’expansion et la ﬁ ssuration du récipient.

IMPORTANT

Cet appareil est considéré comme « prêt pour

le garage » s’il est utilisé comme congélateur. Si

le cadran du thermostat est réglé sur la plage «

RÉFRIGÉRATEUR », l’appareil ne doit être utilisé que

dans des espaces climatisés.

Remarques sur les conversions

Lors de l’utilisation de l’appareil comme réfrigérateur,

de la condensation peut se former sur les parois

et le fond du meuble. Ceci est normal et n’affecte

pas le fonctionnement de l’appareil. Cette eau

condensée peut être retirée de l’armoire en suivant les

instructions de dégivrage.

Si l’appareil a été utilisé comme congélateur et sera

converti pour être utilisé comme réfrigérateur, une

grande quantité de condensation peut se former

sur les parois de l’armoire. Veuillez vériﬁ er que

tous les aliments ont été retirés pour éviter une

décongélation indésirable des aliments. Dégivrez et

nettoyez l’appareil avant de le réutiliser pour éviter

l’accumulation d’eau à l’intérieur du meuble.

Autres remarques importantes

• MIN indique le réglage le plus chaud.

• MAX indique le réglage le plus froid.

• Le réglage du cadran du thermostat au milieu de

la plage MIN-MAX devrait être sufﬁ sant pour une

utilisation domestique régulière.

• Régler le thermostat sur MAX dans la plage «

CONGÉLATEUR » fera fonctionner le compresseur

en continu et rendra l’intérieur très froid. Il n’est

pas recommandé de faire fonctionner l’appareil à

ce réglage pendant de longues périodes.

• La température à l’intérieur de l’appareil peut

varier en fonction de la température ambiante de

la pièce, de la fréquence d’ouverture du couvercle

et de la quantité d’aliments frais récemment

ajoutés.

• Ne surchargez pas l’appareil car cela peut

affecter les performances. Ne congelez pas de

grandes quantités d’aliments frais en même temps.

• Le couvercle peut être difﬁ cile à ouvrir

immédiatement après l’avoir fermé. Ceci est

normal et est dû à la différence de pression entre

l’intérieur froid de l’appareil et l’air chaud qui

vient d’entrer dans l’appareil lorsque le couvercle

a été ouvert. La pression s’égalisera en quelques

minutes. Si le couvercle est particulièrement

difﬁ cile à ouvrir, attendez 5 minutes pour

permettre à la pression de s’équilibrer, puis

réessayez.

IMPORTANT

N’utilisez jamais d’appareils électriques pendant le

dégivrage. N’utilisez pas d’objets pointus ou tranchants

pour enlever le givre car cela pourrait endommager les

conduites de réfrigérant. Si ces lignes sont accidentellement

percées, cela rendra le congélateur inutilisable et annulera

la garantie du fabricant.

DÉGIVRAGE OU ÉLIMINATION DE L’EAU CONDENSÉE

Cet appareil doit être dégivré environ deux fois par an ou lorsque la

couche de givre à l’intérieur de l’armoire est de 6 mm (1/4 de pouce)

d’épaisseur.

Si l’appareil est utilisé comme réfrigérateur, ce processus doit être utilisé

pour éliminer l’eau condensée qui s’accumule à l’intérieur de l’armoire.

L’eau condensée doit être retirée régulièrement pour empêcher l’eau de

tremper et d’endommager les aliments.

1. Pour vous préparer, débranchez l’appareil et déplacez-le dans une

zone dotée d’un siphon de sol ou placez le bac de récupération fourni

devant le siphon à l’avant de l’armoire.

2. Le drain intérieur est situé sur le plancher intérieur de l’armoire. Retirez

le couvercle du drain. L’eau dégivrée ou condensée s’écoulera dans le

trou et sortira par le bouchon de vidange de dégivrage extérieur.

3. Le bouchon de vidange de dégivrage extérieur est situé à l’avant de

l’armoire. Tirez doucement sur environ 20 - 25 mm, jusqu’à ce que le

trou d’eau soit visible.

4. Tournez le bouchon de vidange extérieur de sorte que la ﬂ èche pointe

vers le bas. Assurez-vous que le drain ou le bac se trouve sous le trou

pour recueillir l’eau. Laissez l’appareil reposer sans être dérangé

avec le couvercle ouvert pendant le dégivrage ou la vidange. Vériﬁ ez

régulièrement l’appareil pour vous assurer que l’eau ne déborde pas.

5. Lorsque toute l’eau a été vidangée, tournez le bouchon de vidange

jusqu’à ce que la ﬂ èche pointe vers le haut, puis poussez vers l’intérieur

jusqu’à ce qu’il soit au même niveau que l’armoire.

6. Replacez le couvercle dans le drain de dégivrage intérieur. Réglez le

thermostat sur MAX pendant environ 2 heures avant de revenir au

réglage de température souhaité.

NETTOYAGE

• Assurez-vous que l’appareil est débranché

avant de le nettoyer.

• Nettoyez l’intérieur et l’extérieur de l’appareil

avec un chiffon doux et humide et un peu de

détergent doux.

• Il est important de garder propre la zone où le

couvercle scelle contre l’armoire pour assurer

une étanchéité parfaite. Nettoyez cette zone

avec un chiffon savonneux. Rincez avec un chif-

fon humide et séchez.

• N’utilisez pas de nettoyants contenant de l’am-

moniac ou de l’alcool car ils peuvent endom-

mager l’apparence de l’appareil. N’utilisez

jamais de nettoyants commerciaux ou abrasifs

ou d’objets pointus sur aucune partie de l’appa-

reil.

• Laissez l’intérieur de l’appareil sécher complète-

ment avant de le rebrancher et de retourner les

aliments.

PANNE ÉLECTRIQUE

La plupart des pannes de courant sont corrigées

en quelques heures et ne devraient pas affecter la

température de votre appareil si vous minimisez le

nombre d’ouvertures du couvercle. Si l’alimentation

doit être coupée pendant une longue période,

prenez les mesures appropriées pour protéger votre

contenu. Attendez 3 à 5 minutes avant de tenter de

redémarrer le réfrigérateur si le fonctionnement a

été interrompu.

CONSEIL D’ÉCONOMIE D’ÉNERGIE

L’appareil doit être situé dans la zone la plus fraîche

de la pièce, loin des appareils produisant de la

chaleur et à l’abri de la lumière directe du soleil.

Ne surchargez pas l’appareil et ne bloquez pas les

ouvertures de ventilation.

VACANCES

Vous pouvez laisser l’appareil fonctionner pendant

des vacances de moins de trois semaines. Si

l’appareil n’est pas utilisé pendant plusieurs mois,

retirez tous les éléments et débranchez l’appareil.

Dégivrez, nettoyez et séchez soigneusement

l’intérieur. Pour éviter la formation d’odeurs et de

moisissures, laissez le couvercle légèrement ouvert,

en le bloquant si nécessaire.

DÉMÉNAGER

• Retirez tous les éléments et assurez-vous que

l’intérieur de l’appareil est propre et sec.

• Fermez le couvercle avec du ruban adhésif.

• Assurez-vous que l’appareil reste bien en place

en position verticale pendant le transport.

• Protégez l’extérieur de l’appareil avec une

couverture ou un objet similaire.

• Si l’appareil est placé sur le dos ou sur le

côté pendant le transport, une fois arrivé à

destination, laissez-le rester dans sa position de

fonctionnement pendant 6 heures pour réduire

la possibilité d’un dysfonctionnement du système

de refroidissement.

DISPOSITION

Cet appareil ne doit pas être traité comme un

déchet ménager ordinaire, il doit être apporté au

point de collecte des déchets approprié pour le

Este dispositivo está destinado a ser utilizado en

INSTRUCCIONES DE CONEXION A TIERRA

Este aparato debe estar conectado a tierra. La

puesta a tierra reduce el riesgo de descarga

eléctrica proporcionando un cable de escape para

la corriente eléctrica.

Este aparato tiene un cable que tiene un cable de

conexión a tierra con un enchufe de 3 clavijas. El

cable de alimentación debe estar enchufado en un

tomacorriente que esté debidamente conectado a

tierra. Si el tomacorriente es un enchufe de pared

de 2 terminales, debe ser reemplazado por un

ADVERTENCIA - El uso incorrecto del enchufe

de descarga eléctrica. Consulte a un electricista

No conecte el aparato a los cables de extensión ni

con otro aparato en la misma toma de corriente.

UBICACIÓN

• Se deben utilizar dos personas para mover el

aparato. Coloque el electrodoméstico en un piso

que sea lo suﬁ cientemente fuerte para soportarlo

cuando esté completamente cargado.

• Retire el embalaje interior y exterior antes de la

instalación. Limpie el exterior del aparato con

un paño suave y seco y el interior con un paño

húmedo y tibio.

• No coloque el aparato bajo la luz solar directa

o cerca de fuentes de calor, como una estufa

o calentador, ya que esto puede aumentar el

consumo eléctrico. Las temperaturas ambientales

extremadamente frías también pueden hacer

que el aparato funcione incorrectamente.

• No utilice el aparato cerca del agua, por

ejemplo, en un sótano húmedo o cerca de un

fregadero.

• Este electrodoméstico está diseñado para

uso doméstico y en garajes en interiores

únicamente. Los congeladores se prueban para

funcionar a temperaturas que oscilan entre -17

y 43 °C (0 y 110 °F). No está diseñado para

instalación en el exterior, incluso en cualquier

INSTRUCCIONES DE NIVELACIÓN

Hay dos patas ajustables en la parte inferior

del electrodoméstico que se pueden girar hacia

arriba o hacia abajo para garantizar que el

electrodoméstico esté nivelado. Es importante que el

aparato esté nivelado para minimizar el ruido y la

vibración.

Mueva el aparato a su ubicación ﬁ nal. Gire la
