Before Use
Features
MotionDV STUDIO is a software allowing to
connect a Personal Computer to a digital video
device (like a digital movie camera) and to edit
images.
Image editing includes non linear editing and tape
(linear) editing. With MotionDV STUDIO, you can
carry out both. You can also carry out hybrid
editing, combining the benefits of both methods.
Non linear editing
The images of the digital video device are
downloaded to the PC and edited. This method
allows to apply several special effects.
1 Image capture (Capture)
2 Arranging the captured images (videoclip)
3 Editing/Processing
Video effects, transition effects and audiomix
can be applied to the videoclips.
Otherwise, you can use the titler to apply the
effects.
4 Recording on tape or other media
You can record edited contents in a digital video
device equipped with DV input function.
Tape (linear) editing (To perform this
editing, the PC must be equipped with 2
i.LINK/IEEE1394a standard terminals)
Editing is performed by connecting 2 digital video
devices to the PC. When applying this editing
method, images are not downloaded to the PC,
and the PC just controls the 2 devices. (Images
are sent directly from the first to the second
device)
1 The PC controls the digital video devices
2 Flow of data, including image information
Hybrid editing
It allows to exploit the benefits of non linear editing
and of tape editing.
Non linear editing allows to insert several special
effects, but you need a great capacity hard-disk to
download long-playing images. (1GB every 4
minutes of images.) On the other hand, with tape
(linear) editing you can easily edit long-playing
images, but you can't add special effects and
audio. MotionDV STUDIO allows to effectively use
tape editing for long-playing images and non linear
editing for the scenes to which you wish to add
special effects.
