INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Remove old jamb bracket and replace with new
one. Straight side of bracket should be 2-1/8"
away from storm door. Fasten with long screws
provided.
1. Slip the hold open washer over the rod. Extend
the rod from the closer and position the hold open
washer behind the lugs. Groove mark should be
visual from the end of the cylinder (Fig.6)
2. With door completely closed, slip end of rod
into jamb bracket and insert short pin. With closer
in level position, connect door closer to front hole
in door bracket with long pin provided. (Fig.4)
Hold against storm door and mark for screw
holes. Do not adjust the hold open washer from
step 1. This will give proper tension for setting of
door closer. (Fig.5)
SEASONAL ADJUSTMENT:
The previous setting is suited for glass storm
door panel. For screen panel use, hold the
door open with the hold-open washer 8" and
relocate the long pin to the rear hole of the
closer at the door bracket.(Fig.4)
3. Fasten with short screws provided.
4. After installation is completed, move hold-open
washer behind lugs on rod. (Fig.6)
If rod does not return, it may be necessary
to adjust regulating screw.(Fig.4)
DOOR CHAIN INSTALLATION
The storm chain will help protect the storm door & closer against wind damage.
1. At slight angle as shown, attach bracket with spring to head jamb 18" from side jamb. Set back so doors
cannot strike it.
2. Assemble door bracket on end of chain by inserting pin. Open door to 90° and extend chain with bracket in
place to meet door. Mark location of screws through bracket (1-1/4" down from top of door).
3. Remove pin from chain and mount bracket on location marked. After bracket has been mounted, place
desired link of chain into bracket slot and insert pin.
4. Hook one end of hold-up spring in chain link hanging lowest when door is closed by spreading last coil of
spring and winding around proper link. Push double headed nail through other end of spring.
5. Locate nail, with spring attached, in head jamb towards hinge side 1" away from door or closer so hold-up
spring is not stretched over 1/4" when door is closed.
