In the following we would like to familiarise

you with the appliance and provide some

useful information about epilation. Please

read the use instructions carefully and

thoroughly before using the appliance.

Braun Silk·épil SoftPerfection Body

Epilation has been designed to make the

removal of unwanted hair as efficient,

gentle and easy as possible. Its proven

epilation system removes hair at the root,

leaving your skin smooth for weeks.

With the innovative SoftLift

tips and

the unique arrangement of tweezers it

provides an extra close epilation for

perfectly smooth skin, allowing to remove

hairs as short as 0.5 mm as well as flat

lying hairs. As the hair that re-grows is

fine and soft, there will be no more

stubble.

The high-precision epilation head for

leg hair removal comes with two different

attachments:

The massaging rollers clip makes

the epilation ultra gentle. Its pulsating

movement stimulates and relaxes

the skin to offset the pulling sensation.

The EfficiencyPro clip provides a

thorough epilation that is now even

faster. Ensuring maximum skin

contact and the optimum usage

position, it allows removal of even

more hairs per stroke.

If you have not used an epilator before, or

if you have not epilated for a longer period

of time, it may take a short while for your

skin to adapt to epilation. The discomfort

experienced at first is considerably

reduced with repeated use as the number

of hair to be removed decreases over time

and as the skin adjusts to the process.

The Cool & Soothe set helps reducing

possible skin irritations after epilation and

will also leave the skin feeling cool and fresh.

The narrow epilation head is perfectly

suited to follow the contours of delicate

body parts such as under the arms and

the bikini lines. A reduced number of

tweezers and the narrow design, speci-

fically adapted to these body areas, improve

the handling and ensure a particularly

gentle epilation in these areas.

Warning

• For hygienic reasons, do not share this

appliance with other persons.

• Keep the appliance dry.

• Keep the appliance out of the reach of

children.

• When switched on, the appliance must

never come in contact with the hair on

your head, eyelashes, ribbons, etc. to

prevent any danger of injury as well as

to prevent blockage or damage to the

appliance.

• Before use, check whether your voltage

corresponds to the voltage printed on

the transformer. Always use the country-

specific 12 V transformer plug supplied

with this product.

General information on epilation

Silk·épil is designed to epilate hair on legs,

but use tests monitored by dermatologists

have revealed that you can also epilate the

underarm and the bikini line.

All methods of hair removal at the root can

lead to in-growing hair and irritation (e.g.

itching, discomfort and reddening of the

skin) depending on the condition of the

skin and hair.

This is a normal reaction and should

quickly disappear, but may be stronger

when you are removing hair at the root for

the first few times or if you have sensitive

skin.

If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows

irritation, we recommend that you contact

your physician. In general, the skin

reaction and the sensation of pain tend to

diminish considerably with the repeated

use of Silk·épil.

In some cases inflammation of the skin

could occur when bacteria penetrate the

skin (e.g. when sliding the appliance over

the skin). Thorough cleaning of the epila-

tion head before each use will minimise

the risk of infection.

If you have any doubts about using this

appliance, please consult your physician.

In the following cases, this appliance

should only be used after prior consulta-

tion with a physician:

– eczema, wounds, inflamed skin reac-

tions such as folliculitis (purulent hair

follicles) and varicose veins

– around moles

– reduced immunity of the skin, e.g.

diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy,

Raynaud’s disease

– haemophilia or immune deficiency.

Some useful tips

Epilation is easier and more comfortable

when the hair is at the optimum length of

2–5 mm (0.08–0.2 in). If hairs are longer,

we recommend that you either shave first

and epilate the shorter re-growing hairs

after 1 or 2 weeks.

When epilating for the first time, it is

advisable to epilate in the evening, so that

any possible reddening can disappear

overnight. To relax the skin we recom-

mend applying a moisture cream after

epilation.

Fine hair which re-grows might not grow

up to the skin surface. The regular use

of massage sponges (e.g. after showering)

or exfoliation peelings helps to prevent

in-growing hair as the gentle scrubbing

action removes the upper skin layer and

fine hair can get through to the skin

surface.

How to epilate

Preparing your skin

Your skin must be dry and free from

grease or cream.

Optional skin cooling: For the first few

epilations or if you have sensitive skin, you

can use the cooling application, recom-

mended by dermatologists to help reduce

possible skin irritation.

• Ensure that the gel pack has been in

the deep freezer (***) for at least 2 hours

(for convenience you can store the gel

packs in the freezer).

• Insert the

gel pack underneath the

glove’s transparent foil. Use only with

glove .

• Put transparent (cool) side of the glove

on your leg.

• Start cooling for approx. 1/2 minute,

longer if needed.

• Epilate the cooled skin area immedia-

tely as described.

• Repeat cooling and epilating until

completion.

• While epilating, please ensure your skin

is dry.

same area for no longer than 2 minutes.

Keep away from sunlight. Do not use

gel pack when damaged. Dispose of in

household waste. Do not use if you are

hypersensitive, allergic to the cold, or if

your skin suffers from sensory disturb-

ances, when suffering from cardiac dis-

eases or arterial circulatory disorders.

Preparing the appliance

• Before starting, thoroughly clean the

epilation heads ( and ).

• For leg epilation, choose epilation head

, put it on and make sure that the

massaging rollers clip is in place.

• For underarm and bikini line epilation,

we recommend that you use the narrow

epilation head .

• To change epilation heads, press the

release buttons on the left and the

right and pull off the epilation head.

• Plug the cord connector into the

socket and plug the transformer plug

into an electrical outlet.

1 To turn on the appliance, slide switch

to setting «2»

(«2» = normal speed,

«1» = reduced speed).

2 Rub your skin to lift short hairs.

For optimum performance hold the

appliance at a right angle (90°) against

your skin. Guide it in a slow, continuous

movement without pressure against the

hair growth, in the direction of the

switch. The SoftLift

tips will make sure

that even flat lying hair is lifted and

removed thoroughly at the root.

As hair can grow in different directions,

it may also be helpful to guide the

appliance in different directions to

achieve optimum results.

Both rollers of the massaging rollers

clip should always be kept in contact

with the skin, allowing the pulsating

movements to stimulate and relax the

skin for a gentler epilation.

If you are used to epilation and look for

a faster way to efficiently remove hair,

please use the EfficiencyPro clip .

It allows maximum skin contact and

ensures optimum usage so that more

hairs are removed in one stroke.

3 Leg epilation

(epilation head with massaging

rollers clip or EfficiencyPro clip ):

Epilate your legs from the lower leg in

an upward direction. When epilating

behind the knee, keep the leg stretched

out straight.

4 Underarm and bikini line epilation

(narrow epilation head without

attachment):

For this specific application, the narrow

epilation head has been developed.

Thanks to its specific design adapted

to the contours of these areas, it pro-

vides a gentle and thorough epilation.

Please be aware that especially at the

beginning these areas are particularly

sensitive to pain. With repeated usage

the pain sensation will diminish. For

more comfort, ensure that the hair is

at the optimum length of 2–5 mm.

Before epilating, thoroughly clean the

respective area to remove residue (like

deodorant). Then carefully dab dry with

a towel. When epilating the underarm,

keep your arm raised up so that the skin

is stretched and guide the appliance in

different directions.

As skin may be more sensitive directly

after epilation, avoid using irritating

substances such as deodorants with

alcohol.

Cleaning the epilation heads

If you have used attachments or ,

first remove it and clean it with the

brush.

6 To clean the tweezer element, use the

cleaning brush dipped into alcohol.

Turn the product around and clean the

tweezers with the brush while turning

the barrel manually.

7 Remove the epilation head by pressing

the release buttons on the left and

right and pull it off.

Give the top of the housing a quick

clean with the brush. Place the epila-

tion head and the clip or back on

the housing.

Silk·épil SoftPerfection Body Epilation de

Braun a été conçu pour retirer les poils

indésirables d’une manière aussi efficace,

douce et facile que possible. Il a été

prouvé que son système d’épilation retire

les poils à la racine laissant votre peau

lisse pendant plusieurs semaines. Les

nouvelles extrémités SoftLift

et l’arrange-

ment unique des pincettes offrent la plus

précise des épilations pour une peau

parfaitement douce, en permettant de

retirer les poils de moins de 0,5 mm et les

poils couchés contre la peau. Le poil qui

repousse est fin et doux, il n’y aura donc

plus d’imperfections.

La tête d’épilation standard haute

précision pour l’épilation des jambes

possède deux accessoires :

L’accessoire de rouleaux massant

rend l’épilation ultra douce. Ces

mouvements pulsatifs stimulent et

relaxent la peau pour atténuer la

sensation de l’épilation.

L’accessoire EfficiencyPro permet une

épilation minutieuse et encore plus

rapide. En assurant un contact au plus

près de la peau et l’angle optimal

d’utilisation, il permet de retirer davan-

tage de poils à chaque passage.

Si vous n’avez jamais utilisé l’épilateur,

ou si vous ne vous êtes pas épilé depuis

longtemps, il faudra un peu de temps pour

que votre peau s’adapte au procédé de

l’épilation. L’inconfort ressenti lors de la

première épilation se réduit considérable-

ment lors des utilisations suivantes : en

effet le nombre de poils à épiler diminue

avec le temps et la peau s’adapte au

procédé de l’épilation.

Le set rafraîchissant Cool & Soothe

aide à réduire les irritations possibles de la

peau qui peuvent apparaître après l’épila-

tion. De plus, il laisse votre peau apaisée

avec une agréable sensation de fraîcheur.

La tête d’épilation des aisselles

convient parfaitement pour suivre les

contours des zones sensibles du corps

comme les aisselles et le maillot. Un

nombre réduit de pincettes et la forme

étroite, spécialement adaptée à ces zones

du corps, améliorent la manipulation et

assurent une épilation particulièrement

douce de ces zones.

Précautions

• Pour des raisons d’hygiène, ne prêtez

pas votre appareil à d’autres person-

nes.

• Ne jamais laisser l’appareil se mouiller.

• Cet appareil doit être tenu hors de

portée des enfants.

• Lorsque l’appareil est en marche, il

ne doit jamais entrer en contact avec

les cheveux ou les sourcils, ceci afin

d’éviter les risques d’accidents et pour

ne pas endommager l’appareil.

• Avant utilisation, vérifier que le voltage

correspond bien au voltage indiqué sur

le transformateur.

contrôlés par des dermatologues ont

révélé que vous pouvez également

l’utiliser pour l’épilation des aisselles et

du maillot.

Les méthodes d’épilation à la racine

peuvent parfois entraîner la repousse de

certains poils sous la peau et des irri-

tations (comme des démangeaisons, de

l’inconfort ou des rougeurs corporelles),

dépendant de l’état de la peau et des

poils. Ces réactions sont normales et

devraient rapidement disparaître, mais

peuvent être accentuées si vous vous

épilez pour les premières fois ou si vous

avez la peau sensible.

Si, après 36 heures, la peau est toujours

irritée, nous vous conseillons de contacter

votre médecin. En général, les réactions

de la peau et les sensations de douleur

s’atténuent considérablement au fur et à

mesure des épilations avec Silk·épil.

Certains cas d’inflammation de la peau

peuvent être dû à l’intrusion de bactérie

dans la peau (lors du passage de l’ap-

pareil sur la peau, par exemple).

Le fait de nettoyer minutieusement la tête

d’épilation avant chaque épilation réduit

ce risque d’infection.

Si vous avez le moindre doute quant à

l’utilisation de cet appareil, n’hésitez pas à

consulter votre médecin traitant. Il est

important de consulter son médecin avant

une épilation dans les cas suivants :

– eczéma, blessures, inflammations

cutanées (follicules purulents) et

varices,

– grains de beauté,

– immunité affaiblie de la peau, comme

diabètes, grossesse, maladie de

Raynaud,

– hémophilie ou déficience immunitaire.

Quelques conseils utiles

L’épilation est plus facile et plus conforta-

ble lorsque les poils sont à leur longueur

optimale de 2 à 5 mm. Si les poils sont

plus longs, nous vous recommandons

d’abord de les raser et de les épiler ensuite

lorsqu’ils auront repoussés au bout de

1 ou 2 semaines.

Au début, nous vous conseillons de vous

épiler le soir : les rougeurs éventuelles

disparaîtront au cours de la nuit. Pour

assouplir la peau, nous vous re-comman-

dons d’appliquer une crème hydratante

après l’épilation.

Des poils très fins peuvent parfois

repousser sous la peau.

Pour éviter ces poils incarnés, nous vous

conseillons d’utiliser régulièrement un

gant de crin ou de procéder à des exfolia-

tions. En effet, grâce à l’action exfoliante,

les cellules mortes sont retirées permettant

ainsi aux poils fins de ne pas rester blo-

qués sous la peau.

Votre peau doit être sèche et sans aucun

résidu d’huile ou de crème.

Utilisation du gant rafraichissant : Pour les

toutes premières épilations ou si vous

avez la peau sensible, vous pouvez utiliser

l’accessoire rafraîchissant, recommandé

par des dermatologues pour favoriser la

diminution d’irritation de la peau.

• Mettez la poche de gel au congélateur

(***) pendant au moins 2 heures

(pour plus de commodité, vous pouvez

constamment laisser les poches de gel

au congélateur).

• Insérer la

poche de gel sous la partie

transparente du gant. Utiliser la poche

de gel uniquement avec le gant .

• Posez le côté transparent (frais) du gant

sur votre jambe.

• Appliquez 1/2 minute, plus longtemps si

besoin.

• Epilez immédiatement la zone de peau

fraîche comme décrit.

• Répétez l’opération jusqu’à la fin de

l’épilation.

• Pendant votre épilation, assurez-vous

que votre peau soit bien séche.

Préparation de l’appareil

• Avant de commencer, nettoyez minu-

tieusement les têtes d’épilation et .

• Pour épiler les jambes, choisissez la

tête d’épilation , mettez-la en place

et assurez-vous que l’accessoire

douceur 4 directions est bien en

place.

• Pour l’épilation des aisselles et du mail-

lot, nous vous recommandons d’utiliser

la tête d’épilation des aisselles .

• Pour changer de tête d’épilation,

appuyez sur les boutons de libération

à gauche et à droite et tirez la tête

d’épilation.

• Branchez le connecteur dans la prise

de l’appareil et branchez la fiche du

transformateur dans une prise de

courant.

1 Pour mettre en marche l’appareil, faites

glisser l’interrupteur en position « 2 »

(« 2 » = vitesse normale,

« 1 » = vitesse réduite).

2 Frottez votre peau pour redresser les

poils courts. Pour obtenir un résultat

optimal, maintenez l’appareil avec un

angle de 90° contre votre peau.

Guidez-le avec un mouvement lent et

continu sans pression

dans le sens

opposé à la repousse des poils, l’inter-

rupteur vers l’avant. Les embouts

SoftLift

feront en sorte que les poils

couchés contre la peau soient relevés

et complètement enlevés à la racine.

Etant donné que les poils peuvent

pousser dans des directions différen-

tes, il peut s’avérer utile de guider l’ap-

pareil dans des directions différentes

pour obtenir des résultats optimaux.

Les deux rouleaux de l’accessoire

de rouleaux massant devraient

toujours être en contact avec la peau,

permettant aux mouvements pulsatifs

de stimuler et de relaxer la peau pour

une épilation plus douce.

Si vous êtes habituée à l’épilation et

que vous recherchez une méthode plus

rapide pour un retrait efficace du poil,

utilisez alors l’accessoire EfficiencyPro

. Il permet un contact maximum avec

la peau et assure l’angle optimal d’utili-

sation, de façon à retirer davantage de

poils à chaque passage.

Epilez vos jambes en commençant par

le bas de la jambe et en remontant le

long de celle-ci. Pour épiler derrière le

genou, maintenir la jambe bien tendue.

4 Epilation des aisselles et du maillot

(tête d’épilation des aisselles sans

accessoire équipé de rouleaux

massant):

La tête d’épilation étroite a été con-

çue pour cette utilisation spécifique.

Grâce à sa conception spécifique,

adaptée aux contours de ces zones,

elle permet une épilation douce et

complète.

Sachez que ces zones sont, au début,

particulièrement sensibles à la douleur.

La sensation de douleur diminuera au fil

des épilations.

Pour un plus grand confort, assurez-

vous que les poils sont à leur longueur

optimale de 2–5 mm.

Avant de procéder à l’épilation, netto-

yez à fond les zones respectives pour

éliminer tous les résidus éventuels (de

déodorant par exemple). Puis, séchez

en tamponnant avec une serviette.

Pour épiler les aisselles, maintenez

votre bras relevé de sorte que la peau

soit tendue et guidez l’appareil dans les

différentes directions.

Comme la peau peut être plus sensible

immédiatement après l’épilation, évitez

d’utiliser des substances irritantes

comme les déodorants à l’alcool.

Nettoyage des têtes d’épilation

5 Une fois l’épilation terminée, débran-

chez l’appareil et nettoyez la tête d’épi-

lation utilisée :

Si vous avez utilisé l’un des accessoires

ou , commencez par le retirer et

nettoyez le avec la brosse.

6 Pour nettoyer les pincettes, utilisez la

brossette de nettoyage trempée dans

de l’alcool. Retournez l’appareil et

nettoyez les pincettes avec la brossette

en tournant le cylindre à la main.

7 Enlevez la tête d’épilation en appuyant

sur les boutons de libération à

gauche et à droite et tirez la tête.

Nettoyez rapidement le haut du corps

de l’appareil avec la brossette.

Replacez la tête d’épilation et l’acces-

soire ou sur le corps de l’appareil.

Sujet à modifications sans préavis.

les Directives 89/336/EEC et la

directive Basse Tension 73/23/EEC.

Une fois le produit en fin de vie,

Câteva idei utile

4 Epilarea axilarå (sub-braø) µi

Pentru aceastå aplicaøie specificå,

a fost dezvoltat un cap de epilare

îngust. Datoritå design-ului såu adaptat

specific conturului acestor zone, el

conferå o epilare profundå µi blândå.

Va rugam sa luati in considerare faptul

ca in mod special, la inceputul epilarii,

aceste zone sunt deosebit de sensibile

la durere. Odata cu utilizarea repetata,

senzatia de durere se va diminua.

Pentru a avea un comfort mai mare, fiti

siguri ca lungimea parului este optima si

se afla intre 2–5 mm.

Inainte de a va epila, curatati profund

zona respectiva pentru a indeparta

reziduurile (precum deodorantii).

Ulterior uscati regiunea prin atingerea

atenta cu un prosop. Cand va epilati

subbrat, mentineti bratul dumnea-

voastra ridicat astfel incat pielea este

intinsa si indreptati aparatul in directii

diferite.

Deoarece pielea pate fi mai sensibila,

direct dupa epilare evitati utilizarea

substantelor iritante, cum ar fi deodo-

rantele cu alcool.

Curåøirea capurilor de epilare

5 Dupå epilare, scoateøi din prizå aparatul

6 Pentru a curåøa penseta, utilizaøi peria

timp ce întoarceøi rolele manual.

7 Pentru a îndepårta capul de epilare,

apåsaøi butoanele de desprindere din

stânga µi dreapta µi scoateøi capul de

epilare.

Curåøaøi cu peria partea superioarå a

niµei. Montaøi capul de epilare µi

dispozitivul 1a sau 1b înapoi pe niµå.

Pot fi modificate fårå înµtiinøare.

Conform Hotãrârii nr. 672 din 19 iulie 2001

privind stabilirea conditiilor de introducere

pe piatã a aparatelor electrocasnice în

functie de nivelul zgomotului transmis prin

aer, valoarea de zgomot dB(A) pentru

acest aparat este de 76 dB(A).
