Thiscylinderisintendedtostore,regulate,anddeliversupplemental
oxygentopatientswhomayhavedifficultyextractingoxygenfrom
theairtheybreathe.Itisforpatientswhowouldnormallyreceivethe
oxygenviaanasalcannula.ThedevicedeliversUSP93±3%oxygenat
anumberofdifferentflowsettings.Itisintendedtobeusedasan
oxygendeliverydeviceandmayincreasethedryingoutofairways.

Anyothersignsofdamagethatmightcauseacylindertobe
unacceptableorunsafeforuse.
2.Examinethecylinderforevidenceoffireorthermaldamage.
evidenceincludescharringorblisteringofthepaint,orother
protectivecoatingorheatsensitiveindicator.Iffireorthermal
damageisfound,replacethecylinder.
3.Inspectthecylinderfillportforthefollowing:
Debris,oilorgrease
Noticeablesignsofdamage
Signsofcorrosioninsidethevalve
Signsofexcessiveheatorfiredamage
Signsofpressureleaks

least500psig(3447kPa).Ifbelow500psig(3447kPa),thenrefill
thecylinderusingtheHomeFillsystem.
WARNING!
Whenpointeroncontentspressuregaugeenters
redzone,itisrecommendedtorefillthecylinder
ontheInvacareHomeFillCompressor.
3.Positionthecylindersotheoxygencylindervalveoutletis
pointingawayfromtheuserandanyotherperson(s).
WARNING!
DONOTdirectflowofoxygenatanyperson,or
flammablematerialwhenadjustingtheflowdial.
4.Besuretheflowdialisinthe“O”position.Align“O”withthe
indicatorwindow.
5.Attachaduallumenadultoxygennasalcannulawithamaximum
lengthof2.1m(7feet)totheproduct’stwooutletconnections
accordingtothecannulamanufacturer’sinstructions.
Itdoesnotmatterwhichtubeisinstalledonwhich
outletconnection.
DONOTusepediatric,lowflownasalcannulasor
oxygenmaskswiththisproduct.
6.Placethecannulaoveryourearsandpositiontheprongsinyour
noseasinstructedbyyourHealthCareproviderorcannula
manufacturer.

10.Turnflowdialuntiltheindicatorwindowisalignedwiththe
prescribedsetting.
Whentherearetwonumbersdisplayedintheindicator
window,thelargernumberisthePULSEflowsettingand
thesmallernumberistheCONTINUOUSflowsetting.

NOOXYGENisdeliveredbetweensettings.
Toavoidinjurytopatient,ALWAYSconfirm
prescribedsettingbeforeadministeringtopatient
andmonitorflowonafrequentbasis.
OnlyusetheInvacareCorporationcarryingbag.
11.Breathethroughthenoseandfeelapulseofoxygenasyouinhale.
Whenonapulsesetting,thereisflow,orapulse,onlyat
thebeginningofeachbreath.Ifyoudonotfeelthepulse
atthebeginningofeachbreath,checkthesetting.
Becauseeachpatient’sbreathingpatternisdifferentand
theenvironmentvaries,itmaybedifficulttofeelsome
lowsettingpulses.
Ifoperatingthecylinderbelow1.7ºC(35ºF)usethe2
L/Mincontinuoussettingonly.
Whentheunitisfirstswitchedfrompulsetocontinuous
flow,asingleinhalationisrequiredtoinitiatethe
continuousflow.
12.Whenfinishedusingthecylinder,performthefollowingsteps:
a.Turntheflowdialtothe“O”position.
b.Turntheshutoffvalveclockwisetoturnofftheregulator.
