One parents’ guide
WARNING: All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets,
packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties and
packaging screws are not part of this toy, and
should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please keep this parent’s guide as it contains
important information.

Unlock the packaging locks:
Rotate the packaging locks 90 degrees
counterclockwise.
Pull out the packaging locks and discard.

GETTING STARTED
Battery Removal and Installation
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the
bottom of the unit, use a screwdriver
to loosen the screw and open the
battery box.
3. Remove old batteries by pulling up
on one end of each battery.

Install 2 new AA (LR6/AM-3)
batteries following the diagram inside
the battery box. (The use of new
alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance).
5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
Note:
If there is no response when the unit is switched on, please
insert new batteries and try switching it on again.
BATTERY NOTICE
Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable, or new and used batteries.
Do not use damaged batteries.
Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging
(if removable).
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision.

MISE EN GARDE
Les piles fournies avec le produit permettent de tester le jouet en
magasin mais ne sont pas des piles longue durée.
Seules des piles du type recommandé doivent être utilisées.
Ne pas mélanger différents types de piles ou d’accumulateurs,
ne pas mélanger des piles ou des accumulateurs neufs avec des
usagés.
Ne pas utiliser des piles ou des accumulateurs endommagés.
Mettre en place les piles ou les accumulateurs en respectant les
polarités + et –.
Ne pas mettre les bornes d’une pile ou d’un accumulateur en
court-circuit (en reliant directement le + et le –).
Enlever les piles ou les accumulateurs usagés du jouet.
Retirer les piles ou les accumulateurs en cas de non-utilisation
prolongée.
Ne les jeter ni au feu ni dans la nature.
Ne pas tenter de recharger des piles non rechargeables.
Enlever les accumulateurs du jouet pour les recharger.
Les accumulateurs ne doivent être chargés que sous la
surveillance d’un adulte.

PRODUCT FEATURES
1. Mode Switch
Slide the Mode Switch up or down
to turn the unit ON and select a
mode. To turn the unit OFF, slide
the Mode Switch over the On/Off
icon.
2. Light-Up Paw Button
Press the Light-Up Paw Button
to activate a fun quiz game or hear
character sound effects.
3. 10 Book Pages
Open to any of the Book Pages
and touch the left side of the book to
hear Chase and Ryder read a story
to you. Touch a word on the right
side of the book to learn more.
4. VOLUME SWITCH
Slide the Volume Switch to adjust
to low or high volume.

5. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Touch
& Teach Word Book will automatically turn off after one minute
without input. The unit can be turned on again by moving the Mode
Selector or by pressing the Light-Up Paw Button.
Note: If the unit repeatedly powers down or the light flashes then
fades out, we suggest changing the batteries.
ACTIVITIES
1. Word Explorer Mode
Touch the left side of the book to
listen to Chase or Ryder read you a
story or touch the right side of the
book to learn new vocabulary and
word facts.
2. Phonics Fun Mode
Touch the left side of the book to
activate storytelling mode, just like
in Word Explorer mode. Touch the
right side of the book to learn how to
sound out new words.

3. Music Mode
Listen to music and add your own
sound effects! Open to any page
and touch the left side of the book
to hear a melody, then touch any
word on the right side of the book to
add fun sound effects on top of the
melody. Press the Light-Up Paw
Button in this mode to hear more
fun character sound effects.
4. Challenge Mode
When in Word Explorer or Phonics
Fun mode, press the Light-Up
Paw Button at the top of the unit
to activate a fun quiz. Answer the
questions by touching a word on the
right side of the book.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2.
Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended
period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on a hard surface and do not expose the unit
to excess moisture.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow
these steps:
1. Turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit back ON. The unit will now be ready to play again.
5. If the unit still does not work, replace with an entire set of new batteries.
