This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualifi ed
service agency in accordance with the manufac-
turer's instructions and all applicable codes and
requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. If
the information in these instructions is not followed
exactly, a fi re, explosion or production of carbon
monoxide may result causing property damage,
personal injury or loss of life. The qualifi ed service
agency performing this installation is responsible
for the proper installation of this kit and assumes
responsibility for this conversion. The installation
is not proper and complete until the operation of the
converted appliance is checked as specifi ed in the
manufacturers instructions supplied with the kit.

TURN OFF THE GAS SUPPLY TO THE APPLIANCE. DISCONNECT
ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY.
READ ALL THE STEPS BEFORE STARTING THE CONVERSION. IN-
STALLER NOTICE: THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE LEFT WITH THE
APPLIANCE.
When installing gas components use pipe joint compound or
Te on tape on all pipe fi ttings before installing (Do not use pipe
joint compounds on fl are fi ttings).
THE APPLIANCE MUST BE OFF AND COLD BEFORE PERFORMING
THE GAS CONVERSION.
ALL WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE INSTAL-
LATION AND OPERATION MANUAL PROVIDED WITH THE APPLIANCE
APPLY TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Gas conversion kits are available to adapt the appliance from the
use of one type of gas to the use of another. These kits contain all
the necessary components needed to complete the task including
labeling that must be affi xed to ensure safe operation.

ACCESSING FIREPLACE
The gas control valve is located under fi rebox fl oor of appliance. Main
burner orifi ce is located under log/grate assembly and pilot orifi ce is
located in pilot burner to right of chassis assembly.
IMPORTANT
The burner orifi ce provided in this kit are only for use at
elevations of 0 to 2,000 feet (610 M) in the USA and 0 to
4,500 feet (0-1372 M) in Canada. At higher elevations
the BTU input must be de-rated by 4% for every 1,000
feet (305 M) to maintain the proper ratio of gas to air. If
the installer must convert the unit to adjust for varying
altitudes, a deration information sticker must be fi lled
out by the installer and adhered to the appliance at the
time of the conversion. Contact your local gas supplier
for deration requirements for your area.
CAUTION
The gas supply shall be shut OFF prior to discon-
necting the electrical power, before proceeding with
the conversion.
ATTENTION

2. Using 2 adjustable wrenches, loosen compression nut from orifi ce
by turning wrenches in opposite directions. Remove compression
nut from orifi ce.
3. Loosen orifi ce from air shutter using wrench. Remove orifi ce from
air shutter.
4. Apply a light amount of propane/LP resistant sealant to threaded
end of LP orifi ce supplied with kit. Thread LP orifi ce into air shutter
and tighten with wrench.
5. Apply a light amount of propane/LP resistant sealant to other end
of LP orifi ce. Thread compression nut/sleeve onto LP orifi ce and
tighten holding both compression nut and orifi ce with adjustable
wrenches.
6. Adjust air shutter to fully open (maximum) position.
7. Lower log/chassis assembly and reposition in fi replace.
FULLY OPEN
PILOT ORIFICE CONVERSION
The pilot is located to the right of log/grate assembly (see Figure 2).
1. For better access, rotate assembly clockwise to pull right side closer
to opening in fi replace.
2. Remove pilot hood by pulling up until it disengages from barrel. Do
not remove retainer clip (see Figure 3).
3. Remove pilot orifi ce from inside barrel using a 5/32" allen wrench
to unscrew orifi ce.
4. Replace pilot orifi ce with LP orifi ce supplied with this kit. The number
30 is stamped on sleeve for identifi cation. Insert small end of new
pilot orifi ce into barrel and thread until tight with allen wrench.
5. Line up notch on pilot hood to positioning tab on barrel and snap
back into position.
IMPORTANT: Be careful not to bend or kink aluminum tubing during
conversion. Make sure pilot hood and orifi ce are properly mated and
aligned after fi nishing this conversion.
6. Reposition log/grate assembly in fi replace.
CONVERSION INSTRUCTIONS
Burner Orifi ce Conversion
The burner orifi ce is located under grate/log assembly.
1. Carefully lift front of grate/log assembly. Place object about 6" in
height under front portion of grate to hold assembly up for access
to air shutter.

Gas Control Valve Conversion
Convert gas control valve by changing valve regulator portion of the
gas valve. Valve is located under fi rebox fl oor.
1. Grasp ring on top of access panel and pull up to remove (see Figure
4). Valve is tilted up toward fi rebox fl oor.
2. Using a Torx T20 or slotted screwdriver, remove and discard three
mounting screws, pressure regulator tower and diaphragm/spring
components (see Figure 5).

3. Ensure that rubber gasket is properly positioned on new pressure
regulator assembly. Install LP pressure regulator assembly to valve
using new mounting screws supplied with kit. Tighten screws securely
(approximately 25 in-lbs.) (see Figure 6).
4. Install identifi cation label enclosed with gas valve regulator to valve
body where it can be easily seen (see Figure 6).
5. Replace access panel in fi rebox fl oor.
Conversion Labeling and Placement
1. With permanent ink, print previous model number on the label in
space provided (see Figure 7). Apply conversion label over existing
certifi cation label (see Figure 8). Existing certifi cation label is located
on the lighting instruction plate inside gas valve compartment area.
2. After fi lling in data required on conversion information label (see
Figure 9 on Page 4), affi x it to fl oor of appliance where it is easily
seen when access panel is removed.

2. Close screen before operating fi replace.
3. Using a manometer, test the inlet and manifold gas pressures.
Inspect for proper burner fl ame appearance (see Figure 11).
The conversion is now complete. To operate your fi replace, refer to
Operating Fireplace in your appliance owner’s manual.

installation or servicing. Correct leaks at once.
Never use an open fl ame to check for a leak. Apply
noncorrosive leak detection fl uid to all joints. Bubbles
forming show a leak. Correct all leaks at once.
