4) DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR ELECTROCUTION
WARNING! Danger of electric shock or electrocution.
Electricity is potentially dangerous and, if not used correctly
may cause electric shock or electrocution, resulting in serious
injury or death, fire, or faults in electrical equipment.
Connect the machine to an earth spike.
WARNING! Danger of electric shock or electrocution. Keep
children, unskilled people, and animals away from this genera-
tor.
WARNING! Danger of electric shock or electrocution. Only
connect electrical equipment (including plugs and extension
cables) that is working properly to the generator.
Always check that the voltage indicated on the equipment cor-
responds to that put out by the generator. Where an extension
cable is used, use a rubber insulated cable (that conforms to
IEC245-4).
WARNING! Danger of electric shock or electrocution.
Connecting this machine to and supplying electricity to a fixed
electrical system in a building, already connected to a mains
supply, is dangerous and is prohibited. This type of connection
must only be formed by a qualified electrician, in compliance with
the electrical standards and laws in force. Incorrect connection
may cause a flow-back of the electrical current produced by the
generator into the mains supply, causing electric charges that
may be discharged through people working on the supply. This
type of connection may lead to a serious danger of electrocution
and death, and may also cause the machine to catch fire or
explode, or the electrical system in the building to catch fire.
WARNING! Danger of electric shock or electrocution. This
generator constitutes a potential danger, if used incorrectly. Do
not touch it with wet hands, do not use in wet places or in the
rain, snow, or mist.
Connect the generator to an earth spike.
WARNING! Danger of electric shock or electrocution. Keep
extension and feed cables, and all utilities away from the hot
parts of the machine, as there is a danger of them being dama-
ged.
WARNING! Check the feed cable and extension cable used
with the equipment you are operating. The feed cable and exten-
sion cable (where used) must be checked from time to time and
each time before use, to identify any signs of damage or ageing. If
these cables are not in good condition, disconnect them immediately
and do not use the equipment before you have had it repaired.
WARNING! Keep the feed cable for your equipment in a
safe position. Keep the feed cable and extension cable (where
applicable) away from the generator, from wet, damp oily surfaces
with sharp edges, from heat sources, combustible materials, and
areas subjected to vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
5) GENERAL DANGERS
WARNING! Danger of suffocation. The plastic bags used
for packing the machine may cause suffocation if placed over
the head, and must be kept out of reach of children. If they are
not to be used again, they are to be cut up and disposed of with
other garbage.
WARNING! Children or people that are not fully conversant
with the operating instructions contained in this manual are
forbidden to use this machine. Local laws and regulations may
indicate a minimum age for use of this machine.
WARNING! The operator is responsible for any accidents or
damage caused by using this machine. The operator is respon-
sible for the safety of people and property, near the machine,
and the plant in which the electricity produced is used.
WARNING! Do not get distracted and always check what
you are doing – use common sense. Never use this machine
when you are tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs,
or medicines that reduce your alertness.
WARNING! Install the generator in such a way that it does
not pose a danger to property, people, or animals.
Position it on a stable, safe surface. Position the generator at
least two metres from any building structures or equipment. Do
not install it near inflammable products or fuels. Install it in a
well-ventilated place.
Positioning the unit on roofs, scaffolding, stairs, sloping surfa-
ces, or within 2 metres of swimming pools, walls or vehicles,
is forbidden. Due to the vibrations produced, this machine may
move slightly while operating.
WARNING! The generator must not be covered by any type
of material while operating.
WARNING! Wait for the generator to stop completely before
working on it. The engine and alternator continue rotating for a
short while after the machine is switched off.
WARNING! When running this machine generates noise
and emits poisonous gas into the air, and some external surfaces
on the machine reach high temperatures. Always use personal
protective equipment and clothing in compliance with standards,
to prevent injury to the body, eyes, hearing, and respiratory
tracts. Do not inhale exhaust gasses.
6) EFFICIENCY OF THE MACHINE
WARNING! If the generator is run when in bad condition it
may pose a danger to people, animals, or property, and cause
damage to the machine itself. Always check that the machine
is complete and whole. Do not remove any of the machine’s
components unless expressly indicated in these instructions,
and do not modify the original configuration in any way. do not
disassemble this machine for any reason. Do not tamper with
the machine’s components for any reason. Check that all the
screws are tight from time to time.
WARNING! Always check that the intake grille for the engine
and the alternator, the air filter, and the engine’s exhaust are free
of any foreign matter such as paper, rags, leaves, etc.
WARNING! Do not run the machine or leave it exposed to
the elements, such as rain, snow, mist, direct sunlight, and high
or low temperatures.
WARNING! Do not attempt to repair the machine, or to gain
access to its internal parts. Always contact an authorised service
centre. Any work done by unauthorised personnel shall result
in the guarantee lapsing and may pose a danger. Ask for only
genuine parts to be used and contact your local dealer. The use
of pirate parts shall cause the guarantee to lapse and may pose
a danger.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
MACHINE NOT IN USE
Switch off the machine. Disconnect the electrical connections to
the equipment drawing power from the machine by removing all the
plugs from the sockets on the machine when – not in use, being
left unattended, moving it from one place to another, cleaning it,
carrying out maintenance, under adverse weather conditions, and
where there is any potential danger.
MOVING THE MACHINE
Lift and move the machine using suitable equipment. Do not lift
and carry the machine using only the strength of your arms.
STORE IN A SAFE PLACE
When the machine is not in use, store it in a dry place, out of reach
of children.
