provided several important safety messages in this manual. Read all safety
messages and always obey them when operating this appliance. Serious
injury or even death can result if you do not follow these instructions.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury when
using this appliance, follow these basic precautions:
Use two or more people to move and install this appliance.
Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong, nor use a 3/2 adapter.
This appliance is designed for free-standing installation only. It should not
be recessed or built in.
Use care not to plug into outlets controlled by wall switches.
Disconnect power before servicing.
After service, replace all parts and panels before operating.
Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable items in the area of this or
any appliance, as the fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.
Use nonflammable cleaners.
Never unplug your appliance by pulling on the power cord. Always grip the
plug firmly and pull straight out from the socket.
Be careful not to roll over or damage the cord when moving the appliance.
Do not pinch, knot or bend the power cord in any manner.
3
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Unplug the appliance before making repairs or cleaning.
To prevent injury or damage, any repairs or adjustments should be done
only by a qualified technician. In particular, do not attempt to remove the

.
- SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS -
4
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: After unpacking you MUST allow this appliance to stand upright
for at least 2 hours to allow the lubricant and refrigerant to drain back into
the compressor and stabilize. Failure to do so may adversely affect
performance and the lifetime of this unit.
Before Using This Appliance
Remove all exterior and interior packing.
Check to be sure shelves are installed and that the strips of tape
holding them in place have been removed.
Level the appliance with the adjustable legs provided.
All controls should be in the OFF position.
Clean the interior surfaces with lukewarm water using a soft cloth. Any
plastic odor that you notice when you first open the doors will dissipate
once the appliance is operating.
This appliance is designed to be free-standing only, and should not be
recessed or built-in.
Installing Your Appliance
Install the anti-tip bracket included with the unit by following the
enclosed instructions.
Place your appliance on a floor that is strong enough to support it when
it is fully loaded. Be sure the appliance is level. (Level the unit cabinet
by adjusting the legs at the front.)
For proper air circulation, leave at least 2 inches of space between the
back of the unit and the wall behind, and 4 inches at the sides and top.
Plug the unit into a 120V AC 60Hz electrical source. The fuse or circuit
breaker should be rated for 15 amperes.
The unit is designed to be used in a stable environment where the ideal
ambient temperature is 72°F or less. Extremely warm or cold ambient
temperatures may cause the appliance to perform improperly.
Avoid locating the unit in moist areas.
5
This appliance is equipped with a three-prong plug and is grounded to
eliminate electrical hazards. In order to make it effective, the unit must
be plugged into a grounded electrical outlet.
A short power-supply cord (either permanently attached or detachable)
is provided to reduce risk resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
6
OPERATION
The lower cabinet may be an all-refrigerator or an all-freezer. It may have a
solid door, a glass door or two separate drawers. See page 2 for a brief
description of your model.
The Lower Refrigeration Cabinet
Control Panel
Here are typical control panels that can be found on the lower refrigeration
cabinet. (Note that only freezers have the SuperFreeze feature.)
ON/OFF Power
To turn the lower cabinet ON or OFF, press and hold the POWER key
for 5 seconds.
Note: Pressing the POWER key once can switch off the audible alarm
when the alarm is on.
SuperFreeze
(for models FRBW51 and FRBW52D only)
SuperFreeze is used to freeze items quickly. The function overrides the
thermostat control and will make the compressor operate continuously.
It is not necessary to adjust the thermostat setting when using this
function. When the function is selected, the SuperFreeze indicator will
be ON. The function can be exited by pressing the key again and the
indicator will turn OFF. SuperFreeze turns off automatically after 8 hours.
UP
Used to increase (warm) the set temperature by 1°C/1ºF.
DOWN
Used to decrease (cool) the set temperature by 1°C/1ºF.
ºF/ºC Selector
You can choose the temperature display to be in either Fahrenheit or
Celsius degrees. To change the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius
or from Celsius to Fahrenheit:
For refrigerator models For freezer models
7
On freezer models FRBW51 and FRBW52D, press and hold the
SuperFreeze key for 5 seconds.
On refrigerator models
RFBW61G, RFBW64 and RFBW62D, press and
hold the Light key for 5 seconds.
Setting the Temperature Control
You can set the temperature by pressing the UP and DOWN keys.
When you press either of the two keys for the first time, the LED
readout will show the original temperature set previously. (For freezer
models, the temperature has been preset to F or -18°C. For
refrigerator models, the preset temperature is 38°F or 3°C.)
The temperature you are setting will increase by one degree each
time you press the UP key, and will decrease by one degree each
time you press the DOWN key.
The range of the temperature control for freezer models is -11°F to
11°F; for refrigerators, the range is 36°F to 43°F.
To view the set temperature at any time, press the UP or DOWN key.
The set temperature will flash in the display window for 5 seconds.
After 5 seconds, the temperature inside the unit will reappear in the
display window.
Interior Light
If the lower cabinet control panel has a Light key , the interior light
can be turned on and off by pushing this key. If there is no Light key, an
interior LED light will turn ON automatically when the door is opened.
NOTE:
If the unit is unplugged, or power is lost or turned off, you must wait 3
to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before
this time delay, the unit will not start.
When you use the unit for the first time or restart the unit after it has
been shut off for a long time, there could be a few degrees variance
between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the
LED readout. This is normal and is due to the length of the activation
time. There should not be a problem once the unit has been running
for a few hours.
8
NOTE: This section of the appliance is designed to heat towels and
blankets to a temperature no higher than 140°F. When loading items
into the cabinet for heating, be sure there is a minimum of 1 inch of
space between the items and the walls and fan to allow for proper
circulation of air.
The Upper Warming Cabinet
Turning off the warming cabinet does not affect the operation of the
lower cooling cabinet, but turning off the cooling cabinet can activate
the supplemental heating element in the warming cabinet unless this
cabinet is also turned off.
Loading the Warming Cabinet
Place the articles to be warmed into the cabinet and close the door. Items
may be stacked, but be sure adequate space is left for air circulation, as
noted above. Be sure the door is closed securely.
Turning On the Warming Cabinet
Switch the circuit breaker on the control panel to the ON position. The
following will happen:
The temperature controller will light up and display the warming
cabinet temperature.
The fan motor will start.
The heating element will turn on as indicated by the red indicator light
on the controller. It will cycle on and off with the heating element.
The temperature will start to rise.
The temperature will gradually rise to the factory setting of 140°F from
an ambient room temperature of 72°F.
9
The LED display on the control panel normally shows the warming cabinet
temperature.
When the cabinet reaches 140°F, the heating element will turn off (the red
light goes out), then turns on again when the cabinet temperature drops to
135°F. This condition will continue until the equipment is turned off
intentionally or:
The fan motor fails, in which case the safety switch shuts down the
heating element and the red light turns off. An electrician should be
called for service.
Some internal or external factor is causing the current to exceed 15
amperes, in which case the circuit breaker will trip off.
Turning Off the Warming Cabinet
To turn off the appliance, switch the circuit breaker on the control panel to
OFF.
Reducing the Set Point Temperature
The operating temperature is factory-set to 140°F, but you can reduce this
"Set Point" by following this procedure:
1. Turn on the power by switching the circuit breaker on the control panel
to ON.
2. Press and release the SET button.
3. Press either the UP or DOWN arrow on the control panel to reach the
desired temperature (Set Point).
4. Press SET again to complete the process.
10
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the appliance and remove all contents. Wash the interior liners with
a solution of warm water and baking soda (two tablespoonfuls per quart),
then rinse and wipe. Do not use soaps, detergents, scouring powder, spray
cleaners or the like on the liner, as these may cause odors in the cabinet.
Cleaning
Wash shelves in a mild detergent solution and dry with a soft cloth.
Wipe the exterior surface with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water and
then dry with a soft cloth. A spray appliance cleaner may be used for the
exterior only.
Use only lukewarm soapy water to clean the door gaskets.
Never use acids, chemical thinner, gasoline, benzene or the like to clean
any part of the appliance. Boiling water and benzene may deform or
damage plastic parts.
To ensure that your appliance keeps working properly, clean the lint filter
regularly. Simply remove the lint filter from the upper cabinet and wash it
with soapy water. Rinse completely with clean water. Allow the filter to dry
before placing it back in the unit.
Lint Filter
11
If the appliance will not be used for several months, empty it and unplug
the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor
and mold growth, leave the doors open slightly, blocking them open if
necessary.
Extended Downtime
1. Remove or securely tape down all loose items inside the two cabinets.
Moving Your Appliance
2. Tape the doors shut.
3. Be sure the appliance is kept in the upright position during
transportation. Also protect the outside of the appliance with a
blanket or similar item.
To allow proper air circulation, keep a space around the walls and fan
when loading the cabinets.
Energy-Saving Tips
Add or remove as many items as needed at one time and close the
doors as soon as possible.
Twice a year, place a thermometer near the fan inlet of the cabinet in order to
check the accuracy of the temperature setting. The actual temperature should
be within ±3 Fahrenheit degrees of the set temperature.
