ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT! The trailer harness wire
colours are not a reliable indication of
function. There are different wire
colour standards and the trailer may
not have the original wiring. When in
doubt, test the wiring functions.
Only rewire the 7-way trailer-end connector if
there is an error found during testing.
1. Remove the housing screw (F) securing
the 7-way terminal (A) to the plug
housing (B).
2. Loosen the set screw (C) enough to free
the wiring harness.
3. Pull the terminal out of the housing far
enough to work on the wiring.
4. Consult your notes and the wiring chart,
then unscrew the terminal bolts for the
problem lights. Pull the wires free.
5. Wrap each wire around the correct
terminal bolt and tighten.
6. Insert the 7-way terminal into the
housing. Gently pull the trailer harness
out through the wire boot if you need to
make room in the housing to fit the 7-
way terminal.
7. Tighten the housing screw, then the set
screw to secure the wiring.
8. Repeat the testing to confirm the
changes resolved the issues.
OPERATION
1. Plug the 5-way adapter into the trailer’s
wire harness socket.
2. Plug the 7-way adapter into the vehicle’s
wire harness socket.
3. Have an assistant in the vehicle cycle
through each vehicle signal and then
apply the brakes.
4. A signal at the wrong signal light
indicates the wiring receiver on the
vehicle or trailer is incorrect. Make a
note of which signal was being tested
and which signal was active.
5. Once all signals are tested, rewire the
connections in the wiring receiver.
