Installation
Removing the packaging
After removing your Smart Box out of its box, check if the following items are included:
- 01 SB-8700 (HR);
- 01 Power Supply and AC Power Cord;
- 01 Quick Start Guide.
You will nd information for each part of the SB-8700 (HR) throughout this manual.
Keep the package for an eventual transportation.

Ports I/O
Place of installation
The place of installation should meet the following conditions:
- Have an electrical network with a ground connection, with a three pin plug (2 poles and the ground) in order
to be compatible with the cable of the equipment.
- Have enough space for its operation and preventive and corrective maintenance;
- The feeding line should be exclusive for the equipment, unless it is used for other compatible equipment and
it should not overpass the maximum consumption of the line. Photocopy machines, electrical motors and any
other high consumption equipment should be installed isolated from this equipment;
- Advisably, the oor should not be wooden, in order to avoid electrostatic shocks on the equipment;
- Install the equipment in a stable place, with no vibrations, since some of its components are movement
sensitive;
- It is not advisable to install the equipment on a mobile table (with wheels) and/or that the operator has chair
with wheels, since this may cause electrostatic shocks on the equipment;

- The video monitor should be place strategically so that the lights of the room do not reect the operator,
disturbing the correct visibility of the screen;
- As a safety measure, it is advised the use of a voltage stabilizer or UPS between the equipment and the line
socket;
- Install the equipment away from sun rays, vapor, gases, smoke, humidity and suspended particles;
- Read the limitations of the warranty manual before installing the equipment.
Connecting to the electrical network
Check that the Smart Box is unplugged, if it is, connect it to the line power. Watch that the socket should have
three holes for its correct ground connection.
It is important to check that the voltage selector is in the position corresponding to the electrical provision.
Special care
Check carefully the electrical tension before connecting the Smart Box equipment.
You should take special care with the tension and the maximum voltage the equipment supports. In case of
doubt and/or adjustment of the socket, ask a professional. You should take the same care if you have to install
an extension wire, a voltage stabilizer or UPS. The user is exclusively responsible for taking these precaution
measures, being them essential for the effect of the warranty coverage.
The Smart Box purchased has been manufactured under international safety standards that protect the user
against electrical shocks in case electrical network failure or accident. For this protection to work properly, it
is essential that equipment be connected to a three-hole socket connected to the ground.
Only connect a peripheral or accessory to your system when it is disconnected.
Store all the material used in the Smart Box equipment package; these are the most appropriate to transport
the equipment in case of moving its location.
Before cleaning the equipment, make sure it is disconnected from the electrical network. Use just a wet cloth
to clean it. Do not use detergents, abrasive or solvent products.
Do not try to repair the equipment by yourself, nor allow any unauthorized person to do it. There is risk of
electrical shock, even with the wire disconnected from the electrical network. Contact the Bematech S.A.
Service centers whenever necessary.

Connecting peripheral devices to Smart Box
SB-8700 (HR) is equipped with a touch-screen which, under regular use, eliminates the need for external
keyboard, mouse and monitor. You may however need an external device in case the SB-8700 (HR) needs
servicing. Please refer to the information below for connection instructions:
Note: Observe that the connectors are identical for each one but in its color, watch the equipment
indicator in order not to get confused. (Green = Mouse / Purple = Keyboard)

ATTENTION
This certificate is an additional benefit offered to consumers by Bematech S.A. For the warranty
conditions herein to be valid, the consumer invoice of sale must be presented, and every
recommendations contained in this Quick Reference Guide must be addressed. Reading this guide
is recommended.
Bematech S.A. guarantees this product against defects in parts and labor, under normal use and
service for a period of 36 months.
Bematech S.A. shall repair the product at no cost to the User, provided it is delivered to one of
the technical service units of the Technical Assistance Network Bematech S.A. (TAN), with any
transportation costs belonging to the responsibility of User, in accordance with the terms of this
warranty, together with the respective invoice. Repair, at the discretion of Bematech S.A., may
include the replacement of parts or boards, with new or refurbished equivalents. This product
returned and any parts replaced will be guaranteed for the remainder of the original term. All parts
replaced are the property of Bematech S.A.
Only TAN units can evaluate and repair Bematech S.A. products. All contacts with the TAN should
be made directly by consumers. Authorized dealers are not allowed to perform these actions in their
stead. All eventual damages or delays arising from non-compliance with these recommendations
waive Bematech S.A. liability.

Instalación
Retirando el producto del embalaje
Al retirar su Smart Box de la caja, verique que estén incluidos los siguientes artículos:
- 01 SB-8700 (HR);
- 01 fuente de energía y Cable de Alimentación CA;
- 01 Guía de Inicio Rápido.

Puertos I/O
Lugar de instalación
El lugar para la instalación, debe contar con las siguientes condiciones:
- Red de energía con conexión a tierra, con tomacorriente de tres pines (2 polos y tierra) para que sea
compatible con los cables del equipo.
- Espacio suciente para operar el equipo y realizar las operaciones de mantenimiento preventivo y correctivo;
- La línea de energía debe ser exclusivamente destinada al equipo, excepto cuando sea utilizado junto a otro
equipo compatible y cuyo consumos sumados no superen el consumo máximo de la línea. El equipo debe
instalarse aislado de máquinas fotocopiadoras, motores eléctricos y otros equipos de altos consumos;
- El piso no debe ser de madera para evitar descargas electrostáticas en el equipo;
- Instalar el equipo en un lugar estable, libre de vibraciones, ya que algunos de sus componentes son sensibles
al movimiento;
- No aconsejamos la instalación del equipo sobre mesa móvil (con ruedas) como tampoco que la silla del
operador tenga ruedas, ya que esto puede generar descargas electrostáticas en el equipo;

- El video monitor debe posicionarse de forma estratégica para evitar que el reejo de las luces de la sala
diculte la correcta visibilidad de la pantalla por parte del operador ;
- Como medida de seguridad, aconsejamos el uso de un estabilizador de tensión o UPS entre el equipo y el
tomacorriente de energía ;
- Instalar el equipo protegido de la luz solar, vapores, gases, humo, humedad y partículas en suspensión;
- Lea las limitaciones de garantías de su manual antes de instalar el equipo.
Conexión a la red eléctrica
Asegúrese que el SMART BOX 8700 (HR) esté desconectado, si lo está, conéctelo al tomacorriente. Aségurese
que el tomacorriente sea de tres pines y que cuente con puesta a tierra.
Es importante vericar que la posición del selector de tensión, corresponda al valor de la red local.
Cuidado especial
Verique cuidadosamente la tensión eléctrica antes de encender el equipo Smart Box.
Usted debe tener especial cuidado con la tensión como también con la máxima tensión soportada por el
equipo. En caso de duda y/o adaptación del tomacorriente, consulte a un profesional.El mismo cuidado debe
tomarse en casos de necesidad de instalar extensiones, estabilizador de tensión o sistema de alimentación
ininterrumpida. El usuario es el único responsable por tomar éstas medidas de precaución, esenciales a los
efectos de la cobertura de la garantía.
El SMART BOX 8700 (HR) adquirido ha sido fabricado bajo normas internacionales de seguridad que
protegen al usuario contra choques eléctricos en caso de fallas en la red eléctrica o de accidentes. Para que
dicha protección funcione correctamente, es esencial que el equipo sea conectado a un tomacorriente de tres
pines, con puesta a tierra.
Únicamente conecte periféricos o accesorios a su sistema cuando el mismo esté apagado.
Mantenga todo el material utilizado en el paquete de equipos SMART BOX 8700 (HR), ya que estos son los
más adecuados para el transporte del equipo en el caso que sea necesario trasladarlo.
Antes de limpiar el equipo, verique si el mismo se encuentra desconectado de la red eléctrica. Use solamente
un paño húmedo para limpiarlo. No utilice detergentes, productos, abrasivos o solventes.
No intente reparar el equipo usted mismo, ni permita que personas no autorizadas lo hagan. Existe riesgo de
choque eléctrico, aun cuando se encuentre desconectado el enchufe de la red eléctrica. Contacte la asistencia
técnica Bematech, siempre que sea necesario.

Conectando periféricos al Smart Box
El SB-8700 (HR) está equipado con pantalla Tactil que, en su uso normal, elimina la necesidad de teclado,
mouse y monitor externo. No obstante, en caso de ciertas operaciones de mantenimiento puede surgir
la necesidad de conectar aparatos externos.Verique la siguiente información sobre las conexiones
necesarias:
Obs: Observe que los conectores son idénticos y se diferencian solamente por el color, observe los
indicadores en el equipo para evitar equivocaciones. (Verde = Mouse / Morado = Teclado)
