a Box (PIB). Please follow these instructions carefully to
help ensure the most positive experience with your system.
WARNING –
1. As with all computer equipment, the PIB components can be damaged by
Electro Static Discharge (ESD). Take proper ESD precautions when handling
PIB components.
2. To ensure full compliance with the AMD Limited Warranty for PIB
products, a thermal solution must be used. For those PIB products that
include a thermal solution, the thermal solution included must be used.
If a thermal solution must be purchased, it must meet or exceed the
thermal solution requirements provided at www.amd.com/support.
3. Do not apply voltage until the thermal solution is fully installed. If voltage
is applied before the thermal solutionis fully installed, the processor may
overheat and failure may result. Read through and understand the

4. The PIB is intended to be operated only within the associated AMD
published specifications and factory settings (AMD Specifications) and

The AMD Socket FM2+, AMD3+, AM4, SocketTR4, SP3, sTRX4, and sWRX8 platforms are designed to be fully featured, scalable solutions with support for multiple
processors. To see if your motherboard supports your processor, please refer to the CPU Support List document available on your motherboard manufacturer’s website.
Since the manufacture of your motherboard, there may have been several BIOS updates made available through our motherboard partners. These updates not only
provide improved system performance but may be required to support newer processors as they become available. If your processor is supported by your motherboard
but requires an updated BIOS, you may experience an issue where the system does not boot up during initial setup. If this happens, please get assistance from the

Sie oben auf der Prozessor-Verpackung. Sie benötigen die
Seriennummer im Falle einer Garantieabwicklung.
2. Verwenden Sie nur den mit diesem AMD Prozessor
mitgelieferten bzw. empfohlenen Kühlkörper/Lüfter (auf
der AMD Webseite finden Sie eine Liste von anerkannten
Kühllösungen von Drittanbietern für Ihren speziellen AMD
Prozessor); bzw. folgen Sie der maßgeblichen Dokumentation zur
thermischen Konstruktion (technische Dokumente finden Sie auf
der AMD Webseite - Einzelheiten sind www.amd.com/support
zu entnehmen)). Bei Verwendung eines anderen Kühlkörpers/
Lüfters verfällt die Garantie.
3. Verwenden Sie den Prozessor in keinem Fall, wenn keine
angemessene Kühllösung installiert ist.
4. Fassen Sie den Prozessor nie an den Kontaktpins an.
5. Lesen und befolgen Sie die lnstallationsanweisungen sorgfältig.
Eine falsche Installation kann Überhitzungen oder andere
Schäden am Prozessor verursachen, die zum Verlust ihres
Garantieanspruchs führen.
6. Für alle AMD Prozessoren ist hochwertige Wärmeleitpaste
erforderlich. Bei einigen AMD Prozessoren für den Einzelhandel
enthält die Kühllösung bereits eine Vorbeschichtung mit
Wärmeleitpaste.
a. Falls Sie den Kühlkörper/Lüfter nach der ersten Installation
abnehmen, müssen Sie vor der erneuten Installation des
Kühlkörpers/Lüfters erst die Oberflache des Kühlkörpers/
Lüfters reinigen und die Wärmeleitpaste an der
entsprechenden Stelle erneut auftragen.
Sofern hierin nicht anderweitig angegeben, gewährleistet AMD den
in dieser Box enthaltenen und mit einer geltenden und von AMD
verifizierten Seriennummer versehenen AMD Prozessor (der „AMD
Prozessor“) bei korrekter Installation und Nutzung mit dem damit
gelieferten Kühlkörper/Lüfter (bzw., wenn kein Kühlkörper/Lüfter
mitgeliefert wird, dann mit einer Kühllösung eines Drittanbieters, die der
maßgeblichen Dokumentation zur thermischen Konstruktion des AMD
Prozessors entspricht, oder mit von AMD anerkannten Kühllösungen -
Einzelheiten sind www.amd.com/support zu entnehmen) unter normalen
Nutzungsbedingungen frei von Material- und Verarbeitungsmängeln und
im Wesentlichen entsprechend den öentlich verfügbaren Spezifikationen
von AMD. Die Garantie gilt ab dem Kaufdatum des Kunden für einen
Zeitraum von 3 Jahren (die „Garantiezeit“).
Falls der AMD Prozessor die oben genannten Voraussetzungen innerhalb
des Garantiezeitraums nicht erfüllt, übernimmt AMD nach alleinigem
Ermessen: 1. die Reparatur des AMD Prozessor mithilfe von Hardware
und/oder Software, 2. den Austausch des AMD Prozessors durch
einen anderen AMD Prozessor mit gleicher oder besserer Leistung
ODER 3. die Erstattung des zu diesem Zeitpunkt aktuellen Werts des
AMD Prozessors, sofern eine Reparatur oder ein Austausch des AMD
Prozessors durch AMD nicht möglich sind.
Diese Garantie gilt nur für den Erstkäufer des AMD Prozessors.

Diese Garantie gilt nicht für AMD Prozessoren, bei denen AMD
feststellt, dass der Defekt oder die Nichtkonformität durch einen
unsachgemäßen Gebrauch oder einen nicht den Spezifikationen des
Datenblatts entsprechenden Betrieb des AMD Prozessors verursacht
wurden. Ausschlussfaktoren sind zum Beispiel: eine missbräuchliche
Verwendung, Fahrlässigkeit, ungeeignete Installation oder Tests, Unfälle,
Verlust oder Schäden beim Transport, Übertaktung des Produkts (auch
wenn durch AMD hierfür freigegeben), eine fehlerhafte Baugruppe (z.B.
Mainboard) in die der Prozessor eingesetzt wurde wodurch wiederum
Schäden beim Prozessor verursacht wurden, außerhalb der Kontrolle
von AMD liegende, externe Faktoren oder nicht autorisierte Reparaturen
bzw. Einflussnahmen auf den Prozessor durch andere Personen als durch
AMD Mitarbeiter.
AMD gewährleistet nicht, dass lhr AMD Prozessor frei von Designmängeln
oder -fehlern ist, auch als ,,Errata” bekannt.
Diese beschränkte Garantie wird hinfällig, wenn (i) der AMD Prozessor
mit einem anderen als dem mitgelieferten Kühlkörper/Lüfter

IMPORTANT — Prior to installing: To help ensure a positive
experience, continued warranty coverage during the warranty term,
and reliable operation, please consider the following points before
installing the Processor:
1. Record the serial number in the front page of this poster. You
can find the serial number on the top of the retail box. The
serial number is required for any warranty claims.
2. Use only with a thermal solution sold with or recommended for
this AMD Processor (see AMD’s website for a list of third party
approved cooling solutions for the specific AMD Processor you
are using); or in accordance with the applicable thermal design
documentation (see AMD’s website for technical documents:
see www.amd.com/support for details). Use of any other
thermal solution will void the warranty.
3. Never use the processor without an appropriate thermal
solution installed.
4. Never handle the processor by the pins.
5. Read and follow installation instructions carefully. Incorrect
installation may result in overheating or other damage to the
processor that will void the limited warranty.
6. High-quality thermal interface material is required for all AMD
Processors. The thermal solution included with some retail
AMD Processors has pre-applied thermal interface material.
a. If you remove the thermal solution after initial installation,
you must first clean the thermal solution surface and apply
new thermal interface material before reinstalling the
thermal solution on your processor.
Three (3) Year Limited Warranty for Processor in a Box
Except as otherwise provided herein, and only for the three (3) year
period (the “Warranty Term”) beginning after the date the AMD
processor contained in this box and that has a valid, AMD verified
serial number (the “AMD Processor”) was first purchased by the
original customer, AMD warrants that the AMD Processor, when
properly installed and used with the thermal solution provided
herewith (or if a thermal solution is not provided, then with a third
party cooling solution that conforms to the applicable AMD thermal
design documentation or with AMD approved cooling solutions —
see www.amd.com/support for details), under normal use conditions,
will be free from defects in material and workmanship and will
substantially conform to the AMD publicly available specifications.
If the AMD Processor fails to meet the above warranties during the
Warranty Term, AMD, at its sole option, will: (1) Repair the AMD
Processor by means of hardware and/or software; (2) Replace the
AMD Processor with another AMD Processor of equal or greater
performance, OR (3) if AMD is unable to repair or replace the AMD
Processor, refund the then-current value of the AMD Processor.
This warranty does not extend beyond the first purchaser of the
AMD Processor.
Warranty Limitations and Exclusions
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXPRESSED IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY
AGAINST INFRINGEMENT, AND OF ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS OR
LIABILITIES ON AMD’S PART, AND AMD NEITHER ASSUMES NOR
AUTHORIZES ANY OTHER PERSON TO ASSUME FOR AMD ANY
OTHER LIABILITIES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE
EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT
APPLY TO YOU.
ALL WARRANTIES HEREUNDER ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE

determines that the defect or non-conformance was caused by
improper use or operation outside of the data sheet specifications
for the AMD Processor, abuse, negligence, improper installation or
testing, accident, loss or damage in transit, overclocking the Product
(even when enabled by AMD), errors in the design of the product into
which the Product was incorporated, external factors beyond the
control of AMD or unauthorized repair or alteration by a person other
than AMD.
AMD does not warrant that your AMD Processor will be free from
design defects or errors known as “errata”.
This Limited Warranty shall be null and void if (i) the AMD Processor
is used with any heatsink/fan other than the one provided herewith,
or (ii) if used with a cooling solution that does not conform to AMD
approved specifications for third party cooling solutions for this AMD
Processor (see www.amd.com/support for details).
This Limited Warranty does not cover any costs relating to removal or
replacement of any AMD Processor or any other cost associated with
replacement for the AMD Processor.
Limitations of Liability
AMD’s RESPONSIBILITY UNDER THIS, OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY,
IMPLIED OR EXPRESS, IS LIMITED TO REPAIR, REPLACEMENT
OR REFUND, AS SET FORTH ABOVE. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY
FAILURE OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY LIMITED REMEDY, THESE
REMEDIES ARE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES FOR ANY

ANY PROGRAM OR DATA STORED IN OR USED WITH A SYSTEM
CONTAINING YOUR AMD PROCESSOR. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT
ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF DIRECT, INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR
EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU
MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM JURISDICTION

How to Obtain Warranty Service
To obtain warranty service for the AMD Processor, first contact the
company from which you bought your boxed Processor. After their
warranty expires or if you are unable to otherwise obtain warranty
service you should contact AMD online at: in the U.S., Canada,
Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Russian Federation, http://
support.amd.com/consumer for Consumers, and http://support.
amd.com/partner for Resellers; in Asia, [email protected].
Please be prepared to provide 1) your name, address, and telephone
numbers; (2) proof of purchase; (3) a description of the type of boxed
processor; (4) the serial number found on your boxed processor and
(5) a detailed description of the problem. The Technical Service Center
Representative may need additional information from you depending
on the nature of the problem.
Upon receipt of a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from
the Technical Service Center Representative, you will be required to
send in your processor and heatsink/fan that were packaged together
in the retail container. The packaging materials themselves will not be
required to process your RMA.
Any replacement AMD processor is warranted under this written
warranty and is subject to the same limitations and exclusions for
the remainder of the original Warranty Term or one (1) year, whichever
is longer.
