TheMASTERVOLUMEcontrolontheheadsetraisesandlowersvolumeofallincomingaudiofeeds
together.Itwillnotraiseorlowerthevolumeofyour
outgoingvoicecommunication.(Thedistance
betweenyourmicrophoneandyourmouthisthebestwaytoadjustthis).
TheBALANCEcontrolontheheadsetenablesyoutodialintheperfectmixofgametovoice
communication.
Important:ItispossibletobringeithertheGAMEortheVOICEvolume
downto0%volume,ateither
endoftheBALANCEcontroldialspectrum.
TheEQ3switchontheHeadsetswitchesbetweenthethreeEQmodes:BassMode(bestformoviesand
gameswithalotofaction),SupremeMode(neutraltuningfornoenhancementsandgoodformusic),
andPrecisionMode(foraccuratesoundinFPSgames).
Micmutecanbeachievedbyflippingthemictotheupposition,andunmutedbybringingittothe

Important:Whentheheadsetisidle(nosignaldetectedfor5minutes),theHeadsetwillautomatically

Next,clickonthePlaybacktab,andconfirmthatyour‘DefaultDevice’iseithersettoyoursoundcardor

bethedefaultdeviceforvoicein/outandyoursoundcardforgameaudioandgiveyoufullhardware

Uponinstallation,rightclickontheVolumeiconinyoursystemtrayandopentheAudioDevices(for
Vista)orPlaybackDevices(forWin7)submenu.
UnderthePlaybackTab,setyoursoundcardoronboardaudiosolutionasthedefaultplaybackdeviceby
rightclickingon
theiconandselecting‘UsethisasmyDefaultPlaybackDevice’inthepopupmenu
Ifthereisagreencheckmarknexttothecurrentlyselecteddefaultdevice,youwillnotbeabletoselect
it,sinceitisalreadyselected.
Important:WindowsVistawillsettheSKULLCANDYGMXDolbyTransmitterasthedefaultplayback
devicewhenthePLYR1isfirstinstalled,whichwillcombinevoiceandgamesoundatyourPC.Follow
theaboveinstructionstoresetyourdefaultplaybackdevicetoasoundcardoronboardaudiooutput.
Alternatively,youmayleavethedefaultplaybackdevicesettotheSKULLCANDYGMXDolbyTransmitter
ifyouDON’TwanttoconnectanextraaudiocableandDON’Twanttousethemixingfeatureofthe
MixAmp™.AsingleUSBcableisallyou’llneedforthistypeofconfiguration.Simplymixgameandvoice
volumesusingthelevelsinthesoftwareforyouraudioandvoiceprograms.
Next,clickontheRecordingTabandconfirmthattheSKULLCANDYGMXDolbyTransmitterissetasthe
defaultdevice(shoulddisplayagreencheckmark)thisshouldbeautomaticuponinstallation.Ifnot,
rightclickonthemicrophoneiconthatisassociatedwiththeSKULLCANDYGMXDolbyTransmitterand
select‘SetasDefaultDevice’inthepopupmenu.Youcanalsosetyourmicrophonerecordinglevel
throughthismenu.Besuretoclick‘Apply’tochangethesettingsbeforeyouexit.

Rememberthatinordertomixbetweentwodifferentsignals,you’llneedtohaveTWOseparateaudio
connectionsconnectedtotheMixAmp™.Ifonlythe
USBcableisconnected,attachanaudiocable
fromyourPC’ssoundcardormotherboardaudiooutputintothe3.5mmconnector.Followthesetup

Iftwocablesarealreadyconnected,makesurethattheVoiceRecording/Playbackaudiodeviceisset
totheSKULLCANDYGMXDolbyTransmitter,andtheAudiodefaultdeviceissettoyoursoundcardor
motherboardaudiohardware.Checktheaforementionedsetupsectionforspecificinformationabout
youroperatingsystem.

Thereareafewpossibilitiesastowhythismaybeoccurring.Themostlikelyculpritisthe2.5mmcable
connectedtoyourcontroller.Pleasemakesuretheconnectorsarewipedcleanofanydustorresidue
manyoftheseconnectorsmighthaveresidueleftonthemfromthemoldingprocessandthiswill
createapoorconnection.

•Thisglitchisn’tduetothePLYR1itself,butananomalyrelatedtothewiredcontrollerfortheXbox
360(thiscanoccurusingthestandardXboxCommunicatoraswell).Anovervoltageoccurswhenthe
micisblownintoorgetsa*very*loudsignalfromanotherplayeronXboxLive(suchasthesoundsthat
occurduringarhinocerosattack),thatmaycausetheplayeraimtoadjustslightlywithoutinput.
Sometimesgunsfireandgrenadesarethrownontheirownusuallyatinopportunemoments,causing
teammatestoshunandridiculeyou.
•Thereareacoupleofworkaroundstothis.Thefirstistoswitchtoawirelesscontroller,orawireless
controllerwithaPlayandChargecableattachedifyouwish.Thevoicecommisnowwireless(evenwith
thePlayandChargekit)alleviatingtheproblem.
•Ifyou’dliketocontinuetouseawiredcontroller,you’llhavetoloweryourincomingvoicelevelthis
preventsovervoltagefromreachingthecontrollerthroughtheXbox360softwarelayer.Todothis,hit
theGuideButton>PersonalSettings>Voice,andlowertheincomingvoice“Volume”from10(default)
