If you find that the lid
of the chest freezer is
difficult to open just
after you have closed
it, don’t worry. This is
due to the pressure
difference which will
equalize and allow the
lid to be opened
normally after a few
minutes.
Do not connect the
appliance to the
electricity supply until
all packing and transit
protectors have been
removed.
Leave to stand for at
least 4 hours before
switching on to allow
compressor oil to settle
if transported
horizontally.

SCRAPPING OLD APPLIANCES
This appliance is marked according to the European
directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE).
WEEE contains both polluting substances (which can
cause negative consequences for the environment) and
basic components (which can be re-used). It is
important to have WEEE subjected to specific
treatments, in order to remove and dispose properly all
pollutants, and recover and recycle all materials.
Individuals can play an important role in ensuring that
WEEE does not become an environmental issue; it is
essential to follow some basic rules:

therefore causing continuos functionaliting of the
compressor.
Do not excessively stuff foods so as to ensure
proper air circulation.
Defrost the appliance in case there is ice to
facilitate the transfer of cold.
In case of absence of electrical energy, it is
advisable to keep the refrigerator door closed.
Open or keep the doors of the appliance open as
little as possible
Avoid adjusting the setting to temperatures too
cold.

advance.
The storage me for purchased deep-frozen
products varies and depends on the type of
product and its packaging. Therefore, strictly
observe the producer/manufactures instr ons
on the packaging.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always ensure tha e power supply is switched o
prior to conduc ng any maintenance or cleaning of
the appliance.
If you leave your appliance out of use for an extended
period,leave it open to prevent odour and
unpleasant
smells building up inside.
DEFROSTING
The appliance should be defrosted once the
thickness o e on the walls reaches 5-6 mm.
Do not use any electrical, sharp or mechanical objects
to assistan n defros ng the ice removal process,
unless supplied or approved by manufacturer or
approved service centre.
To remove ice from the inner walls, use a plas c or
wood scraper without sharp edges. Never use a metal
scraper.
Proceed as follows:
1. Make sure to unplug the appliance.
2. Dry your hands thoroughly to prevent skin
damage by contact with ice (i s advised to use
gloves).
3. Remove all frozen food from the appliance, pu
into a container, cool box, pu he frozen cool
blocks on top o he frozen food to help keep it
very cold, and place the container or cool box in
a cool, dry room.
4. Pull ou e water drain plug (if available) located
a e bo om o he appliance. Otherwise you
must wipe up the melt water a he bo om of
the appliance compartment with a sponge or
towel.
5. Scrape the ice carefully from the inner of
appliance and put it in to your kitchen sink, for
defros ng.
6. Thoroughly clean the inside o he appliance
compartment, rinse it with warm water and
remove any spil od or liquids.
7. Wipe the appliance with an absorbent cloth or
sponge thoroughly dry and allow to air for about
3 to 4 minutes.
8. Replace the drain-plug (if available).
9. Close the appliance door, replace the plug in the
socket and turn the appliance on.
10. Now re- the frozen food.
To preven en food from defros ng, carry out
the defros ng procedure within a maximum of
two hours to reduce signi cant rise in temperature
o he frozen food that would shorten the storage
life.
