1/10th of a second monopusher chronograph.
Platinum.
Patek Philippe has taken on a new mechanical
challenge with the unveiling of its rst wrist-
chronograph capable of measuring and displaying
1/10th of a second. The Manufacture has developed
a new high-performance manually wound
movement (7 patents pending) incorporating a
high-tech Oscillomax® regulating organ. The two
concentric hands of the monopusher chronograph
display the seconds and 1/10th of a second in a very
precise and highly legible manner. This new Grand
Complication model intended for connoisseurs
and passionate devotees of technical timepieces
is housed in a platinum case with a blue dial and
calfskin strap embossed with a fabric pattern.
Instructions
WINDING CROWN
The winding crown is used to wind the watch
(position 1) and to set the time (position 2).
WINDING
Your watch has a manually wound movement.
When fully wound and with the chronograph
disengaged, it has a power reserve of at least 48
hours. We recommend that you wind your watch
each day at about the same time, preferably in the
morning (about 25 clockwise turns of the crown).
Caution: Please wind the watch before you put it on. In
this way, you can avoid lateral pressure on the winding
stem which, if repeated, may damage the stem tube.
DYNAMOMETRIC WINDING CROWN
Your watch is equipped with a dynamometric
winding crown that eliminates any risk of damage
to or failure of the winding mechanism when the
watch is fully wound. When you turn the crown,
you will notice a series of delicate clicks as soon
as the mainspring is fully wound. These clicks
are normal; they simply indicate that no further
winding is required.
SETTING THE TIME
To set the time, gently pull the crown all the way
out and move the hands in either direction. Once
you have set the correct time, push the crown
home again.
Your watch has a stop-seconds mechanism that
halts the seconds hand as soon as you pull the
crown out to position 2. This allows you to
synchronize your watch with an acoustic time
signal to the exact second. As soon as you push
the crown home (position 1), the seconds hand
will start running again.

1/10TH SECOND CHRONOGRAPH
The Patek Philippe 1/10th second chronograph is
a monopusher chronograph that measures and
displays time intervals with one-tenth of a second
accuracy. It has two large sweep hands – the
chronograph hand – and the tenth of a second
hand (red lacquered) – as well as a minutes hand
on a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a small
seconds hand at 9 o’clock.
Actuating the pusher at 2 o’clock sequentially
activates the three following commands:
1. Simultaneously start the chronograph and
1/10th of a second chronograph hands.
2. Simultaneously stop the chronograph and
1/10th of a second chronograph hands.
3. Reset the chronograph and 1/10th of a
second chronograph hands.
When performing a timing operation, the central
hand of the chronograph enables you to read
off the number of seconds elapsed in the usual
way. To do this, simply look at the corresponding
number of seconds on the beaded minute-track
(on which each bead corresponds to one second).
The central tenth of a second hand shows the
number of tenths that have elapsed since the last
red subdivision. Each large red segment on the
outer railway scale corresponds to one second,
while the small white segments correspond to
one-tenths of a second. Finally, don’t forget
to read the number of minutes elapsed in the
instantaneous 30-minute counter positioned at
3 o’clock. The tenth of a second hand makes
one full turn of the dial in 12 seconds, which is
ve times faster than a sweep seconds hand. It
is this technical feature that makes it possible
to read tenths of a second easily and accurately.
Note : the difference in the speed of rotation of the two
central hands means that during a timekeeping session,
these two hands are superimposed every 15 seconds.
We advise against running the chronograph permanently;
this could cause premature wear of the mechanism.
Care and Maintenance
WATER RESISTANCE
Your watch is fitted with different types of seals
to protect the movement against the ingress of
dust and moisture and to prevent damage if it
is immersed in water. However, if your watch
receives a blow to the crown or the crystal, its
water resistance may be impaired.
SERVICE
We recommend that you have your watch
serviced every five years. The best way to do this
is to bring your watch to an Authorized Patek
Philippe Retailer who will be happy to forward
it to our workshops for you. You can then be
assured that your watch will be inspected and
overhauled by a qualified master watchmaker
at Patek Philippe headquarters in Geneva.
The watchmaker will completely disassemble the
movement and then inspect, clean, and lubricate
all the individual parts prior to reassembly.
All functions of the watch will also be tested in
detail and the escapement regulated if necessary.
Finally, its rate accuracy will be monitored and
precision-adjusted for a further period of two
weeks. The entire process may take several weeks
because each watch must undergo a complete
series of tests to fulfill the strict quality criteria
of Patek Philippe. If you have any questions

CHANGING THE CASE BACK
Your watch comes with a sapphire-crystal case
back as well as with an interchangeable solid-
metal back. Only our watchmakers at the Patek
Philippe workshops in Geneva are authorized to
replace this case back.

reflects the maker’s know-how and all other
assets needed for the development, production,

Patek Philippe relève un nouveau dé mécanique
en dévoilant son tout premier chronographe
permettant de mesurer et d’afcher le dixième de
seconde. La manufacture a développé pour cela
un nouveau mouvement hautes performances
à remontage manuel assorti de sept demandes
de brevets, avec organe réglant high-tech
Oscillomax®. Les deux mécanismes et deux aiguilles
concentriques du chronographe monopoussoir
afchent de manière très lisible la seconde et
le dixième de seconde. Cette nouvelle Grande
Complication, produite pour les connaisseurs et
passionnés de montres techniques, est abritée dans
un boîtier en platine avec cadran bleu et bracelet
en cuir de veau avec motif textile embossé.
Mode d’emploi
COURONNE DE REMONTOIR
Le remontage (position 1) et la mise à l’heure
(position 2) s’effectuent à l’aide de la couronne
de remontoir.
REMONTAGE
Votre montre est dotée d’un mouvement à
remontage manuel. Complètement remontée et
sans la fonction chronographe enclenchée, elle
bénéficie d’une réserve de marche de minimum
48 heures. Nous vous recommandons de la
remonter tous les jours plus ou moins à la même
heure, de préférence le matin (environ 25 tours de
couronne, dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre).
Attention: il est préférable d’effectuer ce remontage
hors du poignet pour éviter les pressions latérales qui, au l
des ans, risqueraient d’endommager le tube de la couronne
de remontoir.
COURONNE DYNAMOMÉTRIQUE
Votre montre est équipée d’une couronne
dynamométrique qui permet d’éviter, en fin de
remontage, tout risque d’endommagement ou de
rupture du système de remontage. Ainsi, lorsque
le remontage de votre montre sera terminé, vous
entendrez une succession de petits « clics ».
Ce bruit est normal et vous indique clairement
à quel moment votre montre est complètement
remontée.
MISE À L’HEURE
L’heure se règle en tirant doucement la couronne
et en déplaçant les aiguilles vers l’avant ou vers
l’arrière. Une fois l’heure ajustée, n’oubliez
pas de repousser la couronne contre le boîtier.
Votre montre comporte un système de « stop
seconde » vous permettant de faire une mise à
l’heure à la seconde près, en vous basant sur un
signal acoustique. Lorsque vous tirez la couronne
(position 2), l’aiguille des secondes s’arrête
instantanément. Elle redémarre immédiatement
lorsque vous repoussez la couronne contre le
boîtier (position 1).

CHRONOGRAPHE 1/10èME DE SECONDE
Le chronographe monopoussoir 1/10ème Patek
Philippe permet de mesurer et d’afcher des
intervalles de temps avec une précision au dixième
de seconde. Il possède pour cela deux grandes
aiguilles centrales – l’aiguille de chronographe et
l’aiguille du dixième de seconde (laquée rouge)
– ainsi qu’une aiguille des minutes sur un petit
compteur 30 minutes à 3h et une petite seconde
positionnée à 9h.
En appuyant sur le poussoir situé à 2h, on active
successivement les trois fonctions suivantes :
1. démarrage simultané des aiguilles de chro-
nographe et du dixième de seconde.
2. arrêt simultané des aiguilles de
chrongraphe et du dixième de seconde.
3. remise à zéro simultanée des aiguilles de
chronographe et du dixième de seconde.
Lors d’un chronométrage, l’aiguille centrale
du chronographe, permet de lire de manière
habituelle le nombre de secondes écoulées.
Il suft pour cela de regarder le nombre de
secondes correspondant sur la minuterie perlée
(chaque perle correspondant à une seconde).
L’aiguille centrale du dixième de seconde permet
quant à elle de connaître le nombre de dixièmes
écoulés depuis la dernière subdivision en rouge.
Chaque grand segment rouge sur l’échelle
« chemin de fer » extérieure correspond à
une seconde, alors que les petits segments
blancs correspondent à un dixième de seconde.
Enn, n’oubliez pas de lire le nombre de minutes
écoulées dans le compteur 30 minutes instantané
positionné à 3h. L’aiguille du dixième de seconde
effectue un tour de cadran en 12 secondes, soit
cinq fois plus vite qu’une trotteuse ordinaire.
C’est cette particularité technique qui rend possible
une lecture aisée et précise du dixième de seconde.
Important : la différence dans la vitesse de rotation des
deux aiguilles centrales fait que lors d’un chronométrage ces
deux aiguilles se superposent toutes les 15 secondes. Veillez à
ne pas laisser le chronographe enclenché en permanence an
d’éviter une usure prématurée du mécanisme.
Entretien
ÉTANCHÉITÉ
Votre montre est dotée de joints et fermetures
conçus pour protéger le mouvement de la
poussière, de l’humidité et de tout risque de
détérioration en cas d’immersion. Un choc sur la
couronne ou sur la glace de votre montre risque
toutefois d’en affecter l’étanchéité.
RÉVISION
Nous vous recommandons de faire réviser votre
montre au moins une fois tous les cinq ans.
Il vous suft pour cela de la remettre à un détaillant
ou un centre de service agréé Patek Philippe,
lequel se chargera de l’envoyer à la manufacture.
Vous aurez ainsi l’assurance qu’elle sera conée
à un maître horloger qualié chez Patek Philippe,
à Genève. L’horloger démontera complètement
le mouvement, nettoiera tous ses composants,
le vériera et le lubriera lors du remontage.
Après avoir testé son bon fonctionnement
et procédé, si nécessaire, au réglage de
l’échappement, il gardera encore la montre au
moins deux semaines supplémentaires an de
régler la marche. L’ensemble du service peut
prendre plusieurs semaines – le temps nécessaire
pour réaliser tous les tests et contrôles permettant
de répondre aux normes de qualité Patek Philippe.

CHANGEMENT DE FOND
Votre montre a été livrée avec un fond en verre
saphir et un fond plein interchangeables. Seul un
maître horloger qualifié chez Patek Philippe, à
Genève, peut procéder au changement de fond.
