FEATURES AND OPERATION OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
Legrand’s DMX-SPLITTER is a repeater that divides and regenerates the DMX/RDM input signal
into four output channels. It is used with DMX controlled lighting systems when the maximum of
32 devices per bus run is exceeded. In this way, more devices can be added to a DMX network
without adding a new DMX-DALI controller. In addition to DMX, the DMX-SPLITTER also
distributes RDM messages for devices that use RDM.

• Up to four DMX-SPLITTERS per DMX bus
• A single bus can have up to 32 unit loads. A splitter allows for more than 32 devices to exist as part of the same universe
• Passes both DMX and RDM signals
• Inputs and outputs are electronically isolated for clear communication pathways
• 5 x Bus DMX512/RDM

- Functional insulation between input and output channels

SPECIFICATIONS
INSTALLATION NOTES
• Installation of Legrand products should be performed or supervised by a certied Legrand installer in compliance with current
and local regulations
• The DMX-SPLITTER must be installed inside an electrical panel protected against over voltages
• It is preferable to use an ACPDXXSM2 power supply. In the case of using class I power supply, ALL points of the protective earth
(PE = Protection Earth) must be connected to a valid protection earth
• Keep high-voltage cables separate from circuits to low-voltage and from any connection with this product
• The length of the connection cables between the product and the LED module must be less than 10m; the cables must be
dimensioned correctly and they should be isolated from every wiring or parts at voltage not SELV. Is preferable to use shielded
and twisted cables
• The length and type of the connection cables of the BUS (DMX, Ethernet, or other) use cables as per specication of the
respective protocols and regulations and they should be isolated from high-voltage. It is preferable to use shielded and twisted
cables
• To connect the DMX512+RDM, Modbus and DALI bus use cables as per specication of the respective protocols and regulations
• It’s absolutely forbidden to connect, for any reason whatsoever, directly or indirectly, high-voltage to the bus or to other parts of
the circuit
• The presence of opto-isolation in a DMX512 network does not guarantee protection from damage or injury, including fatal
electrocution, caused by severe faults
