SRCABLELADDER18 provides roof-mounted cable routing for Tripp Lite’s SmartRack Enclosures, allowing cable bundles to span aisles and/or

spaces between enclosures in the same row.

Note: Standard installation of SRCABLELADDER18 requires Tripp Lite’s SRCABLETRAY accessory, sold separately.

This manual contains instructions and warnings that must be followed during the installation and operation of the product

described in this manual. Read all instructions and warnings thoroughly before attempting installation. Failure to comply may

• When using tools to cut or drill metal, use eye protection and follow all other safety precautions recommended by the tool manufacturer

• Use of this equipment in life support applications where failure of this equipment can reasonably be expected to cause the failure of the

life support equipment or to signiﬁcantly affect its safety or effectiveness is not recommended.

3. Installation

Use a tape measure to determine the distance that SRCABLELADDER18 will bridge. (Preassembling the ladder sections will allow you to

observe their attachment points in place for a more accurate measurement.)

The standard length of SRCABLELADDER18 is 10 feet. If the standard length and the distance between attachment points differ, adjusting

the position of the SRCABLETRAY accessories will allow you to change the distance between attachment points. If necessary, you can use a

single ladder section instead of two sections, reducing the overall ladder length to approximately 5 feet. In addition, the assembly brackets

at the ends of the ladder sections will allow minor adjustments if you install them without pins, and you can add a few inches to the length

of the ladder by using the alternate pin holes for assembly. If the available adjustments will not accommodate the SRCABLELADDER18

accessory, you must cut one of the ladder sections. See Section 3.2 Ladder Modiﬁcation for instructions. If the SRCABLELADDER18

accessory will ﬁt without modiﬁcation, proceed to Section 3.3 Ladder Assembly.

Note: Prior to installation, you must install the SRCABLETRAY accessory (sold separately) on each enclosure that will be linked by the SRCABLELADDER18

3.1 Planning

SRCABLELADDER18 can provide enclosure-to-enclosure cable routing across an aisle or within a single row. You can combine multiple

SRCABLELADDER18 and SRCABLETRAY accessories to meet the cable routing needs of almost any conﬁguration of SmartRack Enclosures,

but planning and measurement are required to ensure a secure ﬁt. Tripp Lite recommends that you read the entire manual in advance to

gain a clear understanding of the installation process and accessory positioning.

3. Installation

3.2 Ladder Modiﬁcation (Optional)

Warning: When using tools to cut or drill metal, use eye protection and follow all other safety precautions recommended by the

tool manufacturer and required by applicable safety regulations. Use caution and wear safety gloves when handling metal parts

that have been cut to length. Sharp edges can cause personal injury and property damage.

Note: Do not modify the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory unless you have followed the instructions in Section 3.1 Planning and determined that modiﬁcation

is required. If modiﬁcation is not required, proceed to Section 3.3 Ladder Assembly.

Measure and mark the cable ladder section that will be cut.

Use a hacksaw or other metal-cutting tool to cut through the ladder section. Make sure your cut is perpendicular to the length of the

ladder and use a metal-cutting tool that will not bend or crush the ladder section.

(Optional) After cutting, use a drill with a 3/8-inch bit to drill new pin holes in end of the ladder section. Compare the modiﬁed end of

the ladder section with the unmodiﬁed end to determine where holes should be drilled. Make sure that the hole location matches your

planning and measurements. You may omit this step, but drilling the pin holes and installing the pins will make the SRCABLELADDER18

accessory more stable.

3.3 Ladder Assembly

Assemble the two ladder clamps

with the M10 carriage bolts

, washers

and hex nuts

as seen in the diagram.

For now, only tighten the nuts far enough to keep the clamps

assembled together.

Join the ladder sections

by inserting each side into the

ladder clamps

until they are stopped by the bolts

. When

the sections are joined, you can now secure the clamp by fully

tightening the nuts.

3. Installation

3.4 Installation Across Aisle

Note: Follow the instructions in this section only if the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory will be installed across an aisle. If the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory

will be installed within a row of enclosures, follow the instructions in Section 3.5 Installation Within Row instead.

Insert four assembly brackets

into the ends of the ladder.

The hooked ends of the brackets should be exposed. When

the ladder is oriented so that the ladder’s rungs are above the

ladder’s side rails, the hooked ends of the brackets should point

down, as shown in the drawing.

Align the pin holes in the ladder sections with the pin holes in

the assembly brackets and insert clevis pins

into the pin

holes (4 total). This step may be omitted to provide additional

installation ﬂexibility, but installing the pins will make the

SRCABLELADDER18 accessory more stable.

Warning: If you choose not to install the clevis pins, make

sure at least 25% of the length of each assembly bracket is

inside the ladder.

After inserting the clevis pins, insert a cotter pin

through the

hole at the end of each clevis pin. (The straight section of the

cotter pin goes through the hole.)

Using an assistant, lift the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory (rungs

upward) and insert the exposed hook ends of the assembly

brackets

into the corresponding slots

in the SRCABLETRAY

accessories installed at the top of each enclosure. The hooks

should ﬁt the slots securely by sliding down to engage the edge

of the slot.

Note: There are two levels of slots. Use the slots that match your

application best.

3. Installation

3.5 Installation Within Row

Note: Follow the instructions in this section only if the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory will be installed within a row of enclosures. If the SRCABLELADDER18

accessory will be installed across an aisle, follow the instructions in Section 3.4 Installation Across Aisle instead.

Insert four assembly brackets

in the open ends of the ladder,

hooked end ﬁrst. When the ladder is oriented so that the ladder’s

rungs are above the ladder’s side rails, the hooked ends of the

brackets should point down, as shown in the drawing.

Align the pin holes in the ladder sections with the pin holes in

the assembly brackets and insert clevis pins

into the pin

holes (4 total). This step may be omitted to provide additional

installation ﬂexibility, but installing the pins will make the

SRCABLELADDER18 accessory more stable.

Warning: If you choose not to install the clevis pins, make

sure at least 25% of the length of each assembly bracket is

inside the ladder.

Using an assistant, lift the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory (rungs

upward) and align the holes at the ends of the assembly brackets

with the corresponding holes

in the SRCABLETRAY

accessories installed at the top of each enclosure.

Align the pin holes and insert clevis pins

into each of the pin

holes (4 total).

3. Installation

After inserting the clevis pins, insert a cotter pin

through the

hole at the end of each clevis pin. (The straight section of the

3.6 Ground Connection

After installing the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory, determine

where to place ground brackets by noting the distance between

one end of the ladder and the grounding post

at the corner of

the nearest SRCABLETRAY accessory.

Place a ground bracket

near the end of the

SRCABLELADDER18 accessory’s leg and use a hex-head bolt

to secure it.

Use the included hex nuts and lock washers

to connect one

end of the included ground cable

to a grounding post

the corner of the nearest SRCABLETRAY accessory and connect

the other end to the grounding post

of the ground bracket

attached to the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory. Repeat steps

1 to 3 for the other end of the SRCABLELADDER18 accessory.

Storage

The unit must be stored in a clean, secure environment with a temperature less than 40° C (104° F) and a relative humidity less than 90%

(non-condensing). Store the unit in its original shipping container if possible.

Service

Your Tripp Lite product is covered by the warranty described in this manual. A variety of Extended Warranty and On-Site Service Programs

are also available from Tripp Lite. For more information on service, visit www.tripplite.com/support. Before returning your product for service,

follow these steps:

1. Review the installation and operation procedures in this manual to ensure that the service problem does not originate from a misreading

of the instructions.

2. If the problem continues, do not contact or return the product to the dealer. Instead, visit www.tripplite.com/support.

3. If the problem requires service, visit www.tripplite.com/support and click the Product Returns link. From here you can request a Returned

Material Authorization (RMA) number, which is required for service. This simple on-line form will ask for your unit’s model and serial

numbers, along with other general purchaser information. The RMA number, along with shipping instructions will be emailed to you. Any

damages (direct, indirect, special or consequential) to the product incurred during shipment to Tripp Lite or an authorized Tripp Lite

service center is not covered under warranty. Products shipped to Tripp Lite or an authorized Tripp Lite service center must have

transportation charges prepaid. Mark the RMA number on the outside of the package. If the product is within its warranty period, enclose

a copy of your sales receipt. Return the product for service using an insured carrier to the address given to you when you request the

RMA.

Limited Warranty

Seller warrants this product, if used in accordance with all applicable instructions, to be free from original defects in material and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date

of initial purchase. If the product should prove defective in material or workmanship within that period, Seller will repair or replace the product, in its sole discretion.

3. Instalación

Utilice una cinta de medir para determinar la distancia que el SRCABLELADDER18 tenderá. (El ensamble previo de las secciones de la

escalerilla le permitirá observar los puntos de instalación para lograr una medida más precisa).

La longitud estándar de SRCABLELADDER18 es de 3.05 m [10 pies]. Si existe diferencia entre la longitud estándar y la distancia entre

los puntos de instalación, el ajuste de la posición de los accesorios de SRCABLETRAY le permitirá cambiar la distancia entre los puntos de

instalación. Si es necesario, puede utilizar una sola sección de escalerilla en lugar de dos, reduciendo así la longitud total de la escalerilla

3.1 Planeación

3. Instalación

3.2 Modiﬁcación de la Escalerilla (Opcional)

Advertencia: Al usar herramientas para cortar o barrenar metal, use protectores para los ojos y siga todas las precauciones

recomendadas por el fabricante de la herramienta y las requeridas por los reglamentos de seguridad aplicables. Tenga

(Opcional) Después de cortar, utilice un taladro con una broca de 3/8" para taladrar nuevos oriﬁcios de pasadores en el extremo de la

sección de escalerilla. Compare el extremo modiﬁcado de la sección de escalerilla con el extremo sin modiﬁcar para determinar dónde

pero si taladra los oriﬁcios de los pasadores e instala los pasadores logrará que la SRCABLELADDER18 sea más estable.

3.3 Ensamble de la Escalerilla

3. Instalación

3.4 Instalación A Través de un Pasillo

Nota: siga las instrucciones de esta sección solo la SRCABLELADDER18 se instalará a través de un pasillo. Si la SRCABLELADDER18 se instalará dentro de

una hilera de gabinetes, siga las instrucciones de la Sección 3.5 Instalación dentro de una ﬁla en su lugar.

Inserte cuatro soportes de ensamble

en los extremos de

la escalerilla. Los extremos en gancho de los soportes deben

quedar expuestos. Cuando la escalerilla esté orientada de forma

que los escalones queden por encima de los rieles laterales de

la escalerilla, los extremos en gancho de los soportes deben

apuntar hacia abajo, como se muestra en el dibujo.

Alinee los oriﬁcios del pasador en las secciones de escalerilla

con los oriﬁcios del pasador en los soportes de ensamble e

inserte los pasadores de horquilla

en los oriﬁcios del pasador

(4 en total). Este paso puede omitirse para proporcionar

ﬂexibilidad en la instalación, pero si instala los pasadores logrará

que el accesorio la sección sea más estable.

Advertencia: Si elige no instalar los pasadores de horquilla,

superior de cada gabinete. Los ganchos deben encajar en las

ranuras en forma segura deslizando hacia abajo para ajustar con

el borde de la ranura.

Nota: Hay dos niveles de ranuras. Utilice las ranuras que coincidan con

su aplicación.

3.5 Instalación Dentro de la Hilera

Nota: siga las instrucciones de esta sección sólo si la SRCABLELADDER18 se instalará dentro de una ﬁla de gabinetes. Si el accesorio SRCABLELADDER18

se instalará atravesando un pasillo, siga las instrucciones de la Sección 3.4 Instalación en un Pasillo en su lugar.

Inserte cuatro soportes de ensamble

en los extremos abiertos

de la escalerilla, con el extremo en gancho en primer lugar.

Cuando la escalerilla esté orientada de forma que los escalones

queden por encima de los rieles laterales de la escalerilla, los

extremos en gancho de los soportes deben apuntar hacia abajo,

3. Instalación

Luego de insertar los pasadores de horquilla, inserte una chaveta

en el oriﬁcio del extremo de cada pasador de horquilla. (La

sección recta de la chaveta debe atravesar el oriﬁcio).

3.6 Conexión a Tierra

Después de instalar la SRCABLELADDER18, determine dónde

colocar los soportes para el suelo tomando nota de la distancia

entre un extremo de la escalerilla y el puesto de conexión a tierra

en la esquina más cercana al SRCABLETRAY.

3. Installation

Utiliser un ruban à mesurer pour déterminer la distance que SRCABLELADDER18 couvrira. (Les sections d'échelles préassemblées vous

permettront d'observer leurs points de ﬁxation en place pour une mesure plus exacte.)

La longueur standard de SRCABLELADDER18 est 3 m (10 pi). Si la longueur standard et la distance entre les points de ﬁxations diffèrent, le

fait d'ajuster la position des accessoires SRCABLETRAY permettra de modiﬁer la distance entre les points de ﬁxation. Au besoin, utiliser une

seule section de l'échelle plutôt que deux sections, réduisant la longueur totale à environ 1,5 m (5 pi). De plus, les supports d'assemblage

aux extrémités des sections de l'échelle permettront des ajustements mineurs s'ils sont installés sans goupilles, et quelques centimètres

peuvent être ajoutés à la longueur de l'échelle en utilisant les trous de goupille alternatifs pour l'assemblage. Si les ajustements disponibles

ne permettent pas d'accueillir l'accessoire SRCABLELADDER18, une des sections de l'échelle doit être coupée. Consulter la Section 3.2

Modiﬁcation de l'échelle pour des instructions. Si l'accessoire SRCABLELADDER18 ne s'adapte pas sans modiﬁcation, passer à la Section

3.3 Assemblage de l'échelle.

Remarque : Avant l'installation, installer l'accessoire SRCABLETRAY (vendu séparément) sur chaque boîtier qui sera relié par l'accessoire SRCABLELADDER18.

3.1 Planiﬁcation

SRCABLELADDER18 peut permettre l'acheminement de câbles de boîtier à boîtier à travers une allée ou dans une rangée. Plusieurs

accessoires SRCABLELADDER18 et SRCABLETRAY peuvent être combinés pour répondre aux besoins en matière d'acheminement des

câbles pour presque toutes les conﬁgurations de boîtiers SmartRack, mais cela exige de la planiﬁcation et des mesures pour assurer

un ajustement sûr. Tripp Lite recommande de lire à l'avance le manuel dans son intégralité pour comprendre clairement le processus

d'installation et le positionnement des accessoires.

3. Installation

3.2 Modiﬁcation de l'échelle (optionnel)

de sécurité. Faire preuve de prudence et porter des gants de sécurité lors de la manutention de pièces de métal qui ont été

coupées sur la longueur. Les bords tranchants peuvent causer des blessures et des dommages à la propriété.

Remarque : Ne pas modiﬁer l'accessoire SRCABLELADDER18 à moins d'avoir suivi les instructions dans la Section 3.1 Planiﬁcation et d'avoir déterminé

que cette modiﬁcation est requise. Si la modiﬁcation n'est pas requise, passer à la Section 3.3 Assemblage de l'échelle.

Mesurer et marquer la section de l'échelle à câbles qui sera coupée.

Utiliser une scie à métaux ou un autre outil à couper le métal pour couper la section de l'échelle. S'assurer que la coupe est

perpendiculaire à la longueur de l'échelle et utiliser un outil à couper le métal qui ne pliera pas et n'écrasera pas la section de l'échelle.

(optionnel) Après la coupe, utiliser une perceuse avec un foret de 3/8 po pour percer de nouveaux trous à goupille à l'extrémité de la

section de l'échelle. Comparer l'extrémité modiﬁée de la section de l'échelle avec l'extrémité non modiﬁée pour déterminer où les trous

devraient être percés. S'assurer que l'emplacement des trous correspond à la planiﬁcation et aux mesures. Cette étape peut être omise,

mais le fait de percer des trous de goupille et d'installer des goupilles permettra de rendre l'accessoire SRCABLELADDER18 plus stable.

3.3 Assemblage de l'échelle

Assembler les deux brides de l'échelle

avec les boulons de

carrosserie M10

, les rondelles

et les écrous hexagonaux

comme le montre le diagramme. Pour l'instant, serrer les

écrous juste assez pour garder les brides assemblées ensemble.

Joindre les sections de l'échelle

en insérant chaque côté

dans les brides de l'échelle

jusqu'à ce qu'ils s'arrêtent sur les

boulons

. Une fois que les sections sont jointes, la bride peut

être ﬁxée en place en serrant complètement les écrous.
