Lifetime lubrication is done at the facto-
ry, so the dryer never needsto be oiled
or greased.

Do not place intoyour dryeritemsthathavebeen spottedorsoaked with vegetable
oil or cooking oil. Even after being washed, these itemsmay contain significant
amountsof these oils. The remaining oil can ignite spontaneously. The potential
for spontaneous ignition increases when the items containing vegetable oil or
cooking oil are exposedto heat. Heat sources, such as your clothes dryer, can
warm these items,allowingan oxidationreaction inthe oilto occur. Oxidationcre-
ates heat. If this heat cannotescape, the items can become hot enough to catch
fire. Piling,stacking or storingthese kinds of itemsmay preventheat from escap-
ing and can create a fire hazard.
All washed and unwashedfabrics that contain vegetableoil or cookingoil can be
dangerous. Washingthese itemsin hotwater with extra detergentwill reduce,but
will not eliminate,the hazard. Always use the"cool down"cyclefor these itemsto
reduce the items' temperature. Never remove these items from the clothesdryer
hot or interrupt the drying cycleuntil the items haverun through the"cool down"
cycle. Never pileor stack these itemswhen they are hot.
Do notallow thestorage of anymaterialto obstruct the ventilationair openingsof
the dryer.
The exhaust system should be periodically examined for damage to the exhaust
duct and for free operation of the exhaust deflector. Keep the area around the
exhaust opening and surrounding areas free from the accumulation of lint, dust
and dirt.

Toselect a cycle, rotate the control dial to the desired setting.
When using an InteIIiDry cycle, the control dial should point
between "More Dry"and "LessDry"for most loads.
Loadsof larger or bulkiersize may require the "More Dry"set-
ting to completely dry the load. The "Less Dry" setting is best
suitedfor lightweightfabrics or for leavingsome moistureinthe

Control Panel - clean with a soft, damp
cloth.Do not use abrasivesubstances.
Tumbler- removeany stainssuch as cray-
on, ink pen or fabric dye (from new items
such astowelsor jeans) with an all-purpose
cleaner.Then tumble old towels or rags to
remove any excess stain or cleaning sub-
stance. Once these steps are done, stains
maystill bevisible,butshould nottransferto
subsequentloads.
Cabinet - wipe offany markswith soapand
water.
Dryer Exhaust System - should be
inspectedand cleanedonce a yearto main-
tain optimum performance. The outside
exhaust hood should be cleaned more fre-
quently to ensure proper operation. (Refer
tothe Installation Instructionsfor moreinfor-
mation.)
Instructionsfor replacingthe bulb:
1) Unplugor disconnect the dryer from the
power supply.
2) Lifttop of dryer by insertinga putty knife
under top, 4" in from eachside.
3) Rotate bulb holder to vertical position
before removing bulb.
4) Push bulb down and rotate counter-
clockwiseto remove.
5) Replace with a 25 watt, 115/125 volt
twist lock utilitylight Part No.53-0570 or
equivalent. Place bulb in socket, push
down and rotate clockwise.
6) Rotatebulbholder to horizontalposition.
7) Placetop of dryer back in original posi-
tion. Make sure metal tabs hold top in
place.
8) Reconnectdryer to powersupply.
For boots, sneakers, fragile sweaters,
afghans, nylon stockings - any items that
might be damaged by tumbling - use the
removabledrying rack.
Touse the rack:
1) Position L-shaped legs against round
insetat back ofdryer.
2) Restthe two front legs on either side of
the lint screen.

Place items to be dried on top of the
rack. Allow space for air to circulate.
Items should not hang over the edge,
between the supports, or touch any
other partof dryer.NOTE:Therack does
not move, but the drum rotates around

CONTROL KNOB ADVANCES
SLOWLY
• This isnormal operationfor an IntelIiDry
cycle, especiallyat the beginning of the
cycle. Once the load begins to dry, the
control knob will start to advance. The
rate of advancement will be stow at the
beginning of the cycle because there is
more moisture in the load. As the load
becomes more dry,the control knobwill
advance morequickly.
DRIES UNEVENLY
• Seams, pocketsand other similar heavy
areas may not be completely dry when
the rest of the load has reached the
selected dryness level. This is normal.
Select the "More Dry"setting if desired.
If one heavy item is dried with a light-
weight load, such as one towel with
sheets, it is possible that the heavy item
will notbe completely dry when the rest
of the load has reached the selected
dryness level. Sort heavy items from
lightweight itemsfor best drying results.
HAS AN ODOR
• Householdodors such as from painting,
varnishing, strong cleaners, etc. may
enter the dryer with the surrounding
room air. This is normal as the dryer
draws the air from the room, heats it,
pulls itthroughthe tumblerand exhausts
it to the outside.When these odors are
present in the air, ventilate the room
completely beforeusing the dryer.
