You and your child now own a Sonicare connected toothbrush.
The Bluetooth connected toothbrush interacts with a fun brushing
mobile device application to keep your child engaged while learning
proper brushing techniques.

DANGERS
To reduce the risk of electrocution:
1 Do not place or store the product where it can fall or be pulled into
a tub or sink.
2 Do not place the product in or drop it into water or any other liquid.
3 Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water.
Unplug immediately.

WARNINGS
To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, re or injury to persons:
1 Discontinue use if this product appears damaged in any way
(brush head, handle, charger). This product contains no serviceable
parts. Refer to chapter ‚Warranty and support‘ if your Sonicare no
longer works properly or needs repair.
2 Never use the charger if it has a damaged cord or plug.
3 Do not plug the charger into an outlet with voltage other than
specied on the bottom of the charger. This product is designed to
operate within a range of 100 to 240 volts. Voltage converters do not
warrant voltage compatibility.

6 Do not use the charger if dropped into water.
7 This product is designed to clean your teeth, gums and tongue
only. Use this product only for its intended use as described in this
booklet. Discontinue use of this product and contact a physician/
dentist if discomfort or pain is experienced.
8 This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
9 Young children learning to brush should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
10 Do not use attachments other than those recommended by the
manufacturer.
11 If your toothpaste contains peroxide, baking soda or other
bicarbonate (common in whitening toothpastes), thoroughly clean
the brush head and the handle with soap and water after each use.
Otherwise the plastic may crack.
12 Follow carefully all the safety and warning instructions provided
by the manufacturer when you use other devices near water and
wet locations. Use the instructions provided by the manufacturer to
address any food or liquid spills.
13 Do not charge your phone or tablet in the bathroom.

1 Consult your dental professional before you use this product if you
have had oral or gum surgery in the previous 2 months.
2 Contact your dental professional if excessive bleeding occurs after
using this product or bleeding continues to occur after 1 week of use.

Getting started
Applying the replaceable panel
The Sonicare For Kids comes with 1 replaceable panel.
1 Remove the adhesive backing from the panel.

Apply the panel to the white section on the front of the handle (Fig. 2).
Note: Make sure you line up the cut-out areas on the panel with the
buttons on the front of the handle.
3 Apply your favorite sticker to the panel as shown on the sticker
sheet (Fig. 3).
Reapplying a panel that has been removed
1 Rinse the panel in warm water; you may also use a mild detergent to
clean it.
2 Let the panel air dry.
3 Reapply the panel to the white section on the front of the handle.
Attaching the brush head
1 Align the brush head so the bristles point in the same direction as
the front of the handle (Fig. 4).
2 Firmly press the brush head down onto the metal shaft until it stops.
Note: There is a small gap between the brush head and the handle.
Charging your Sonicare
1 Plug the charger into an electrical outlet.
2 Place the handle on the charger (Fig. 5).
The battery charge indicator in the power on/o button ashes and the
handle beeps twice to indicate that the toothbrush is charging.
Battery low
If the battery charge of your Sonicare is low, you hear three beeps
and the battery charge indicator ashes rapidly for 1 minute after the
brushing cycle.
Battery fully charged
When the Sonicare is fully charged, the battery charge indicator stops
ashing and remains on for 10 seconds before it turns o.
To keep the battery fully charged at all times, you may keep your
Sonicare on the charger when not in use. It takes at least 24 hours to
fully charge the battery.
Note: When the battery charge is depleted, the handle will emit 2 sets of 5
beeps at the end of a brushing session or when a new brushing session is
attempted. The new brushing session does not begin.
The green LED will also ash fast until the handle goes to sleep.
Bluetooth connectivity
Before you start the connectivity procedure, make sure your mobile
device runs on Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.
Note: For the latest information on device compatibility, please visit the
App Store or Google Play.
Connecting your toothbrush
1 Download the Philips Sonicare For Kids app from the App Store or
Google Play.
2 Conrm Bluetooth is switched on on your mobile device before you
open the app. Check the settings on your mobile device to turn on
Bluetooth.
3 To connect the toothbrush to the app, turn on the toothbrush by
pressing either the power on/o button or the brushing mode
button. Make sure the toothbrush is not on the charger when you
turn it on.
4 Open the Philips Sonicare For Kids app.
5 Follow the app instructions displayed on your mobile device.
The app automatically connects with the toothbrush. If the
toothbrush does not connect, follow the troubleshooting steps
provided in the app.
6 Keep your mobile device close to your toothbrush when you use
your toothbrush. Make sure your mobile device is safe in a dry place.
Using your Sonicare
Brushing instructions
1 Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste.
2 Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle
(45 degrees), where the teeth and the gumline meet.
This is to ensure that the whole tooth surface is brushed (Fig. 6).
3 Press the power on/o button to turn on the Sonicare.
4 Apply light pressure to maximize Sonicare’s eectiveness and let
the Sonicare toothbrush do the brushing for you. Do not scrub
(Fig. 7).
5 Maintain light pressure and gently brush the outer and inner
surfaces of all top and bottom teeth while you keep the toothbrush
at an angle such that the toothbrush bristles touch the area where
the teeth and the gumline meet.
6 The inner and outer surfaces of the upper and lower back teeth are
hard to reach. Spend time brushing these areas, apply light pressure
and maintain the angle of the toothbrush bristles to the gumline
(Fig. 8).
7 Brush the chewing surfaces of all the upper and lower teeth.
8 While you maintain the angle of the bristles to the gumline,
gently move the brush head slowly across the teeth in a small back
and forth motion so the longer bristles reach between the teeth.
Continue this motion throughout the brushing cycle (Fig. 9).
Note: To make sure your child brushes evenly throughout the mouth,
divide the mouth into 4 sections using the KidPacer feature (see
chapter „Features“).

Begin brushing in section 1 (outside top teeth). A short series of
tunes indicate it is time to move to section 2 (inside top teeth).
At the next series of tunes, move to section 3 (outside bottom teeth).
The next series of tunes indicate it is time to move to section 4
(inside bottom teeth). The toothbrush will automatically turn o at
end of the brushing cycle (Fig. 10).
Your Sonicare is safe to use on:
- Braces (brush heads wear out sooner when used on braces)
- Dental restorations (llings, crowns, veneers)
Brushing modes
The Sonicare automatically starts in the default Gentle mode.
1 Press the brushing mode button to toggle between modes (Fig. 11).
The green mode light indicates the selected mode.
- Gentle mode: Full power mode designed for older/independent
brushers. When in Gentle mode, the brushing cycle is set at
2 minutes.
- Extra Gentle mode: Reduced power mode used for training and
introducing younger children to the sonic experience. When in Extra
Gentle mode, the brushing cycle is initially set at 1 minute and slowly
progresses to 2 minutes over time to help young children reach the
dentist recommended 2 minutes of brushing cycle.
To manually set the brushing cycle to 2 minutes in Extra Gentle mode,
place the handle on the charger and hold down the mode button for
2 seconds. You hear a single beep to indicate the brushing cycle is set
to 2 minutes.
To manually re-set the brushing cycle to 1 minute in Extra Gentle
mode, place the handle on the charger and hold down the mode
button for 2 seconds. You hear a double beep to indicate the brushing
cycle is set to 1 minute.
Features
KidPacer
The Sonicare For Kids uses a short series of tunes to alert the brusher
to move to the next brushing quadrant of the mouth and concludes the
brushing cycle with a congratulatory tune before it automatically turns
o. This ensures that the child’s teeth get a thorough, overall clean
(see “Brushing instructions”).
Note: Instruct your child to brush until they hear the congratulatory
tune and the toothbrush turns o.
Easy-start
The Easy-start feature gently increases the power over the rst
14 brushings to help you get used to the brushing with the Philips
Sonicare. The Sonicare For Kids comes with the Easy-start feature
activated.
Note: Each of the rst 14 brushings must be at least 1 minute in length
to properly advance through the Easy-start ramp-up cycle.
Activating or deactivating the Easy-start feature
1 Place the handle on the charger.
To activate Easy-start:Press and hold the power on/o button for
2 seconds. You hear 2 beeps to indicate that the Easy-start feature
has been activated.To deactivate Easy-start:Press and hold the
power on/o button for 2 seconds. You hear 1 beep to indicate that
the Easy-start feature has been deactivated.
Note: Using the Easy-start feature beyond the initial ramp-up period
is not recommended and reduces Philips Sonicare eectiveness in
removing plaque.
Cleaning
Warning: Do not clean brush heads, handle, charger, charger
cover or replaceable panel in the dishwasher.
Toothbrush handle
1 Remove the brush head and rinse the metal shaft area with warm
water. Make sure you remove any residual toothpaste (Fig. 12).
Caution: Do not push on the rubber seal on the metal shaft
with sharp objects, as this may cause damage.
2 Wipe the entire surface of the handle with a damp cloth.
Brush head
1 Rinse the brush head and bristles after each use (Fig. 13).
2 Remove the brush head from the handle and rinse the brush head
connection with warm water at least once a week.
Charger
1 Unplug the charger before you clean it.
2 Wipe the surface of the charger with a damp cloth. Make sure you
remove any toothpaste or other residue from the charger surfaces.
Storage
If you are not going to use the Sonicare for an extended period of time,
unplug the charger from the electrical outlet, clean it and store it in a
cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
Replacement
Brush head
- Replace Sonicare brush heads every 3 months to achieve optimal
results.
- Use only Sonicare For Kids replacement brush heads.
Disposal
- This appliance contains a rechargeable battery which must be
disposed of properly (Fig. 14).
- Contact your local town or city ocials for battery disposal
information. You can also call 1-800-8-BATTERY or visit
www.rbrc.com for battery drop-o locations.

Removing the rechargeable battery
Warning: Only remove the rechargeable battery when you
discard the appliance. Make sure the battery is completely
empty when you remove it.
To remove the rechargeable battery, you need a at-head (standard)
screwdriver.Observe basic safety precautions when you follow the
procedure outlined below. Be sure to protect your eyes, hands, ngers,
and the surface on which you work.
1 To deplete the rechargeable battery of any charge, remove the
handle from the charger, turn on the Philips Sonicare and let it run
until it stops. Repeat this step until you can no longer turn on the
Philips Sonicare.
2 Insert a screwdriver into the slot located in the bottom of the handle
and turn counterclockwise until you see a gap between the bottom
cap and the handle (Fig. 15).
3 Insert the screwdriver into the gap and pry the bottom cap out of
the handle (Fig. 16).
4 Hold the handle upside down and push down on the shaft to
release the internal components of the handle (Fig. 17).
5 Insert the screwdriver under the circuit board, next to the battery
connections, and twist to break the connections. Remove the circuit
board and pry the battery from the plastic carrier (Fig. 18).
The rechargeable battery can now be recycled or disposed of and the
rest of the product discarded appropriately.
WARRANTY AND SUPPORT
Philips warrants its products for two years after the date of purchase.
Defects due to faulty materials and workmanship will be repaired
or replaced at Philips’ expense provided that convincing proof of
purchase in the qualifying period is provided. Philips recommends use
of genuine Sonicare brush heads for optimal performance. Use of other
brush heads may damage your Sonicare toothbrush and limit your
warranty protection. Contact our Consumer Care Center at

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
What is not covered under warranty:
- Brush heads.
- Damage caused by use of unauthorized replacement parts or
unauthorized brush heads.
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, alterations or
unauthorized repair.
- Normal wear and tear, including chips, scratches, abrasions,
discoloration or fading.

OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR

Préparation
Positionnement du panneau interchangeable
La brosse à dents Sonicare For Kids est livrée avec 1 panneau
amovible.
1 Retirez la pellicule auto-adhésive du panneau.

Appliquez le panneau à la section blanche à l’avant du manche (g. 2).
Remarque : Prenez soin de bien aligner le découpage du panneau sur
les boutons à l’avant du manche.
3 Collez l’autocollant de votre choix sur le panneau en suivant les
indications (g. 3) fournies.
Remettre un panneau qui a été retiré
1 Rincer le panneau à l’eau tiède; vous pouvez utiliser un détergent
doux pour le nettoyer.
2 Laissez le panneau sécher à l’air.
3 Remettez le panneau sur la section blanche à l’avant du manche.
Fixation de la tête de brosse
1 Alignez la tête de brosse an que les soies soient dans le même axe
que l’avant du manche (g. 4).
2 Pressez fermement la tête de brosse sur la tige de métal jusqu‘à ce
qu‘elle s‘arrête.
Remarque : Il y a un léger écart entre la tête de brosse et le manche.
Charge de la brosse à dents Sonicare
1 Branchez le chargeur sur une prise électrique.
2 Placez le manche dans le chargeur (g. 5).
L’indicateur de charge du bouton marche-arrêt clignote pour indiquer
que la brosse à dents est en cours de charge.
Pile faible
Lorsque le niveau de charge de la batterie est faible, la brosse
Sonicare émet trois signaux sonores et l’indicateur de charge clignote
rapidement pendant 1 minute après le cycle de brossage.
Pile complètement chargée
Quand la brosse à dents Sonicare est complètement chargée,
l’indicateur lumineux de charge cesse de clignoter et reste allumé
pendant 10 secondes avant de s’éteindre.
Pour vous assurer de toujours disposer d’une charge complète, vous
pouvez placer votre Sonicare sur le chargeur lorsque vous ne l’utilisez
pas. Il faut au moins 24 heures pour charger entièrement la batterie.
Remarque : Lorsque la batterie est déchargée, le manche émet 2 séries
de 5 signaux sonores à la n de la séance de brossage ou lorsque l’on
tente d’entamer une nouvelle séance. La nouvelle séance de brossage
ne démarre pas. Le témoin à DEL vert clignotera rapidement jusqu’à ce
que le manche passe en mode veille.
Connectivité Bluetooth
Avant de commencer la procédure de connectivité, assurez-vous que
votre appareil mobile fonctionne avec Bluetooth 4.0 ou une version
supérieure.
Remarque : Pour obtenir l’information la plus récente sur la
compatibilité des appareils, visitez l’App store d’Apple ou Google Play.
Connexion de votre brosse à dents
1 Téléchargez l’application Philips Sonicare For Kids à partir de l’App
store d’Apple ou Google Play.
2 Vériez que la fonctionnalité Bluetooth est activée sur votre
appareil mobile avant d’ouvrir l’application. Vériez les paramètres
de votre appareil mobile pour activer Bluetooth.
3 Pour connecter la brosse à dents à l’application, mettez la brosse à
dents en marche en appuyant sur le bouton marche/arrêt ou sur le
bouton de mode brossage. Assurez-vous que la brosse à dents ne
se trouve pas sur le chargeur lorsque vous la mettez en marche.
4 Ouvrez l’application Philips Sonicare for Kids.
5 Suivez les instructions de l’application qui s’achent sur votre
appareil mobile. L’application se connecte automatiquement à la
brosse à dents. Si la brosse à dents ne se connecte pas, suivez les
étapes de dépannage fournies dans l’application.
6 Gardez votre appareil mobile près de votre brosse à dents lorsque
vous utilisez votre brosse à dents. Prenez soin de placer votre
appareil mobile dans un endroit sécuritaire et sec.
Utilisation de la brosse à dents Sonicare
Directives de brossage
1 Mouillez les soies de la brosse et appliquez-y une petite quantité de
dentifrice.
2 Placez les soies de la tête de brosse sur les dents, légèrement en
angle (à 45 degrés), là où les dents rencontrent la gencive. Il s’agit de
vous assurer que toute la surface des dents est brossée (g. 6).
3 Appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt pour mettre l’appareil Sonicare
en marche.
4 Appliquez une légère pression pour maximiser l’ecacité de la

Ne frottez (g. 7) pas.
5 Maintenez une légère pression et brossez légèrement les surfaces

zones; appliquez une légère pression et conservez l’angle des soies
de la tête de brosse jusqu’à la gencive (g. 9).
7 Brosser la surface de mastication des dents de toutes les parties
supérieure et inférieure.
8 Tout en conservant l’angle des soies vers la gencive, déplacez
doucement la tête de la brosse sur les dents en lui imprimant de
lents mouvements de va-et-vient de sorte que les soies les plus
longues passent entre vos dents. Continuez ce mouvement pendant
tout le cycle (g. 10) de brossage.
Remarque : Pour vous assurer que votre enfant brosse uniformément
toutes les dents, divisez la bouche en quatre sections à l’aide de la
fonction KidPacer (voir la section « Caractéristiques »).
9 Commencez le brossage par la section 1 (partie externe des dents du
haut). Une série de brefs signaux sonores indique qu’il est temps de
passer à la section 2 (partie interne des dents du haut).
À la prochaine série de signaux sonores, passez à la section 3
(partie externe des dents du bas). La prochaine série de brefs
signaux sonores indique qu’il est temps de passer à la section 4
(partie interne des dents du bas). La brosse à dents s’éteint
automatiquement à la n du cycle (g. 8) de brossage.
La brosse à dents Sonicare est sans danger pour :
- les appareils orthodontiques (les têtes de brosse s’useront plus
rapidement dans ce cas),
- les restaurations dentaires (obturations, couronnes, facettes).
Modes de brossage
La brosse à dents Sonicare est paramétrée pour démarrer
automatiquement en mode (g. 11) doux.
1 Appuyez sur le bouton de mode brossage pour alterner entre les
modes.
Le témoin vert de mode indique le mode sélectionné.
- Mode doux : Mode pleine puissance conçu pour les enfants plus
vieux qui brossent leurs dents seuls. En mode doux, le cycle de
brossage est de 2 minutes.
- Mode très doux : Mode à puissance réduite utilisé pour initier
les enfants plus jeunes à l’expérience sonique et les entraîner.
En mode très doux, le cycle de brossage est réglé à 1 minute et
augmente progressivement avec le temps jusqu’à 2 minutes pour
aider les enfants à atteindre la durée de brossage de 2 minutes
recommandée par les dentistes.
Pour régler manuellement le cycle de brossage à 2 minutes en mode
très doux, placez le manche sur le chargeur et enfoncez le bouton
de sélection du mode pendant 2 secondes. Vous entendrez un signal
sonore unique qui indique que le cycle de brossage est réglé pour
2 minutes.
Pour remettre manuellement le cycle de brossage à 1 minute en mode
très doux, placez le manche sur le chargeur et enfoncez le bouton de
sélection du mode pendant 2 secondes. Vous entendrez deux signaux
sonores qui indiquent que le cycle de brossage est réglé pour 1 minute.
Caractéristiques
KidPacer
La brosse Sonicare for Kids émet une série de brefs signaux sonores
pour indiquer qu’il est temps de passer à la section suivante de la
bouche et termine le cycle de brossage en émettant une mélodie de
félicitations avant de s’éteindre. Elle favorise ainsi un brossage complet
(voir la section « Conseils de brossage »).
Remarque : Dites à votre enfant de brosser ses dents jusqu’à ce qu’il
entende la mélodie le félicitant et que la brosse s’éteigne.
Fonction Easy-start
La fonction Easy-start augmente progressivement la puissance lors
des 14 premiers brossages pour vous permettre de vous habituer à la
Philips Sonicare. La fonction Easy-start est activée par défaut sur la
brosse à dents Sonicare For Kids.
Remarque : Chacun des 14 premiers cycles de brossage doit durer
au moins 1 minute pour que la fonction Easy-start se déroule
correctement.
Activation ou désactivation de la fonction Easy-start
1 Placez le manche dans le chargeur.
Pour activer la fonction Easy-start :Appuyez sur le bouton marche/
arrêt et maintenez-le enfoncé pendant 2 secondes. Lorsque vous
entendez 2 signaux sonores, cela signie que la fonction Easy-start est
activée.Pour désactiver la fonction Easy-start :Appuyez sur le bouton
marche/arrêt et maintenez-le enfoncé pendant 2 secondes. Lorsque
la fonction Easy-start est désactivée, vous entendez 1 signal sonore.
Remarque : Il est recommandé de ne pas dépasser la période initiale
d‘utilisation de la fonction Easy-start, sous peine de réduire l‘ecacité
de la brosse à dents Philips Sonicare dans l‘élimination de la plaque
dentaire.
Nettoyage
Avertissement : Les têtes, le manche, le chargeur ou l’étui de
chargeur ne doivent pas être placés au lave-vaisselle.
Manche de la brosse à dents
1 Retirez la tête de brosse et rincez la zone de la tige en métal avec
de l’eau tiède. Veillez à éliminer tous les résidus de dentifrice
(g. 12).
Attention : Ne poussez pas sur le joint d‘étanchéité en
caoutchouc de la tige en métal avec un objet pointu, car vous
pourriez l‘endommager.
2 Nettoyez tout le manche à l‘aide d‘un chion humide.
Tête de brosse
1 Rincez la tête de brosse et les poils après chaque utilisation (g. 13).
2 Retirez la tête de brosse du manche et rincez la base de la tête de
brosse à l’eau chaude au moins une fois par semaine.
Chargeur
1 Débranchez le chargeur avant de le nettoyer.
2 Nettoyez la surface du chargeur à l’aide d’un chion humide. Veillez
à éliminer toute trace de dentifrice ou autres résidus des surfaces du
chargeur.
Rangement
Si vous prévoyez ne pas utiliser la brosse Sonicare pour une période de
temps prolongée, le chargeur devrait être débranché, nettoyé et rangé
dans un endroit frais et sec, à l’abri des rayons du soleil.
