ThismodelisratedIP67andinstallationbyWallMounting.Eachunitofthisindustrialgigabit
unmanagedEthernetswitchhas8*10/100/1000TxwithIEEE802.3atcompliantports(30W/port),
suitableforapplicationsthatrequirehighbandwidthandlongdistancecommunication.
Inordertopreventunregulatedvoltage,thismodelprovideshighEFTandESDprotection.This
alsoallowsittofunctioninharshenvironments,aswellassupportpowerredundancywithadual
powerinputdesignwithreversepolarityprotection.Therelaywarningfunctionalertsusersabout
occurringfaultstatus.

Grounding
Groundingandwireroutinghelplimittheeffectsofnoiseduetoelectromagneticinterference
(EMI).Runthegroundconnectionfromthegroundscrewtothegroundingsurfacepriorto
connectingdevices.ThegroundingscrewsymbolisshownblowinFigure6.

PrioritizationofPoEports
TheprioritizationofPoEisthepriorityclassofpower.Therehasadecreasingruleinprioritization
fromportG1toG8,whichmeanstheEthernetswitchassignsalowernumberedporttoahigher
priority.Therefore,portG1usesthehighestpriorityandportG8usesthelowesttodetermine
whichportswillprovidetheconnectedpowereddevice(PD)power.
OnalleightEthernetportofthisswitch,eachportcanprovideupto30Wandthemaximumtotal
PoEoutputis200Watts.IftheswitchcanprovidepowerforallconnectedPD,itdoesn'tusethe
prioritizationruletoallocatepower.OnlyifthecurrentPoEprovisioningonallconnectedPD
oversubscribestheavailablepower(above200W),oneormorelowerpriorityportswillbe
removedpowerfrominorderofpriorityuntiltheswitchcanmeetthetotalpowerconsumptionfor
other,higherpriorityports.

BypassFunction
ThisEthernetswitchsupportsbypassfunctionbytwoEthernetports(G7andG8).Whenoneofthe
Ethernetswitcheslosespower,Ethernetports(G7andG8)willbypassthepowerlostEthernet
switchtopreventthenetworkfromdisconnecting.
TakeFigure7forexample,ifSwitchBhaspowerfailure,thebypassfunctionwillbeactivated
automatically,anditwillbypassSwitchBandbridgeG7toG8ofSwitchB,sothatthedata
transmissionpath(fromSwitchAtoC)canremainconnectedandunaffected.

PrioritizationofPackets
ThisEthernetswitchprovidesQoSbasedIEEE802.1pclassofservice(CoS)valuestosupports0to7
CoSvalues,whichmappedto4priorityqueues,sothatTrafficisforwardedsequentiallyaccording
tothepriority,thehighestprioritypackettransmitfirstbytheswitch.QualityofService(QoS)is
usedtoensurethepriorityofnetworktrafficreceivingcorrecttreatments,soiteliminatesthe
unpredictabilityissueofnetworktraffic.
Apriorityqueueisadatatypewhichidentifiesanitemwiththehighestpriorityinasystem.To
mapeachCoSvaluetoaQoSpriorityqueueistoprioritizethetypeoftrafficatcongestionpoints

environmentalconditionshouldbemaximumrelativehumidity80%fortemperaturesupto
31°Cdecreasinglinearlyto50%relativehumidityat40°C.
2. Thedeviceisintendedtobeinstalledinanindustrialcontrolenclosureandpanel.
