Operation, maintenance and product installation: for your safety, please refer
to the different sections of this manual or the corresponding icons. When using
electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
1. Read all instructions before using.

Short Cord instructions
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use.
If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance;
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a groundingtype 3-wire
cord;
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table top

This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.
If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
When using for the first time, wash the plate(s), pour a little cooking oil on the plate then wipe
it with an absorbent kitchen towel.
To avoid damaging the non-stick coating of the cooking plate, always use plastic or wooden
utensils.
Dot not use aluminum foil or other objects between the plates and the food being cooked.
Do not place cooking utensils on the cooking surfaces of the appliance.
Do not cook food in aluminium foil.
Do not remove the grease collection tray while cooking, If the grease collection tray becomes
full when cooking: let the appliance cool down before emptying.
On first use, there may be a slight odor and a little smoke during the first few minutes.
In these cases open the window and wait until there is no more smoke or odor.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by an adult
responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appliance is operating.
Never touch the hot surfaces of the appliance, always use the handles.
Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive

Preparing
1 Remove all packaging materials,
stickers and accessories from the inside
and the outside of the appliance.
The colour sticker on the cooking level
indicator can be changed, according to
the language. You can replace it with
the one on the inside of the packaging.
2 Before using for the first time,
thoroughly clean the plates with warm
water and a little dishwashing liquid,
rinse and dry thoroughly.
3-4 Position the removable drip tray at
the front of the appliance.

5 For the best results you may wipe
the cooking plates using a paper
towel dipped in a little cooking oil, to
improve the non-stick release.

1 Download the OptiGrill app from the App Store or Play Store for Android

via your tablet or
smartphone. Activate the Bluetooth

function on your tablet or smartphone. Plug in your
OptiGrill Smart and turn it on by pressing the on/off button.
2 Select your OptiGrill Smart and follow the instructions on the application to pair your OptiGrill.
NB: To pair your OptiGrill Smart, keep pressing a few seconds the button «OK». The Bluetooth
LED blinks during the pairing phase and then becomes fixed once paired.

should not cook foods with a thickness

the cooking cycle (time and temperature)
according to the food thickness and
quantity.
Close the appliance to start the cooking

Note for very thin pieces of food: close
the appliance, the button «O will flash
and the indicator will stay «fixed purple»,
press «OK» to ensure the appliance
recognizes the food and that the cooking
cycle starts.
The cooking level indicator turns blue
and then becomes green to indicate the
cooking is in progress (for the best results
do not open or move your food during the
cooking process).
While cooking is in progress, a beep alerts
the user each time a certain level of cooking
is attained (e.g. rare/yellow).

11 According to the degree of cooking, the
indicator light changes color. When the
indicator light is yellow with a beep, your
food is rare, when the indicator light is
orange with a beep, your food is medium
and when the indicator light is red, your
food is well done.
N.B.: if you like your meat very rare, remove
the meat when the cooking level indicator
turns green.
Please note, especially on meat, it is normal
that cooking result vary depending on type,
quality and origin of food.

your choice of cooking level appears and
that the beep sounds, open the appliance
and remove your food.

different personal tastes, open the grill
and remove the food when it has reached
the desired level and then close the grill

program will continue its cooking cycle
until it reaches the ‘well done’ level.

17 Keep warm function
When the cooking process has ended the
appliance will automatically go on the
keep warm setting and the cooking level
indicator will automatically go red and an
audible tone will sound every 20 seconds.
If food is left on the grill it will continue to
cook, while the cooking plates are cooling.
You can stop the audible tone by pressing
the «OK» button.
Comment: the safety system will turn the
appliance off automatically after a certain
amount of time.

If you want to cook more food, please refer
to section 18.

Successive cooking
If you wish to cook larger quantities, set in temperature the appliance again (see section 2.
«Preheating», starting from point 4), even if cooking the same type of food or same programme
.
Cooking larger quantities of food:
Once your first batch of food has finished cooking:
1. Make sure that the appliance is closed and no remnants of food remain inside.
2. Select the correct cooking mode or programme (this step is necessary even if the
cooking mode is the same as for the foods you have just finished cooking).
3. Press the button «OK» to begin preheating. While preheating, the
light indicating the level of cooking will blink purple.
4. Once preheating is complete, the appliance will beep and
the indicator light will stop blinking purple.
5. The appliance is ready to be used once preheating is complete.
Open the grill lid and place the food inside the appliance.
Important:
- Please note that preheating is required for each new cooking of food.
Reminder: before activating preheating, make sure that the appliance is closed and no
remnants of food remain inside.
- Then wait for preheating to finish before opening the grill and placing food inside.
Note : if the new preheating cycle is activated immediately after the end of the preceding cycle,
the preheating time will be reduced.

Cleaning and maintenance
4 Before cleaning, unlock and remove the
plates to prevent damage to the cooking
surface. The drip tray and the cooking
plates are dishwasher safe.
5 The appliance and its cord cannot be
placed in the dishwasher. The heating
elements, visible and accessible parts,
should not be cleaned after removing the
plates. If they are very dirty, wait until the
appliance has completely cooled down
and clean them with a dry cloth.

If you do not want to clean the cooking
plates in the dishwasher, you can use
warm water and a little dishwashing
liquid to clean the cooking plates, then
rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.
Dry thoroughly using a paper towel.
Do not use metallic scouring pads, steel
wool or any abrasive cleaners to clean any
part of your grill, only use nylon or non-
metallic cleaning pads.
Empty the drip tray and wash in warm
water and a little dishwashing liquid, dry
thoroughly using a paper towel.
8 To clean the grill cover, wipe with a warm,
wet sponge and dry with a soft, dry cloth.
9 Do not immerse the body of grill in water
or any other liquid.
10 Always make sure grill is clean and dry
before storing.
Any other servicing should be performed by an
authorized service representative.

The Guarantee**
TEFAL/T-FAL guarantees this product against any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship during the guarantee period within those
countries*** as stated in the attached country list, starting from the initial date of purchase or delivery date. The international manufacturer’s
guarantee covers all costs related to restoring the proven defective product so that it conforms to its original specifications, through the repair or
replacement of any defective part and the necessary labour. At TEFAL/T-FAL’s choice, a replacement product may be provided instead of repairing
a defective product. TEFAL/T-FAL’s sole obligation and your exclusive resolution under this guarantee are limited to such repair or replacement.
Conditions & Exclusions
TEFAL/T-FAL shall not be obliged to repair or replace any product which is not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase. The product can be taken
directly in person or must be adequately packaged and returned, by recorded delivery (or equivalent method of postage), to a TEFAL/T-FAL authorised
service centre. Full address details for each country’s authorised service centers are listed on TEFAL/T-FAL website (www.tefal.com) or by calling the
appropriate consumer Service centre set out in the attached country list. In order to offer the best possible after-sales service and constantly improve
customer satisfaction, TEFAL/T-FAL may send a satisfaction survey to all customers who have had their product repaired or exchanged in a TEFAL/T-FAL
authorised service centre.
This guarantee applies only for products purchased and used for domestic purposes and will not cover any damage which occurs as a result of misuse,
negligence, failure to follow TEFAL/T-FAL instructions, or a modification or unauthorised repair of the product, faulty packaging by the owner or
mishandling by any carrier. It also does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance or replacement of consumable parts, or the following:
using the wrong type of water or consumable

This international TEFAL/T-FAL guarantee does not affect the Statutory Rights a consumer may have or those rights that cannot be excluded
or limited, nor rights against the retailer from which the consumer purchased the product. This guarantee gives a consumer specific legal rights,
and the consumer may also have other legal rights which vary from State to State or Country to Country. The consumer may assert any such
rights at his sole discretion.
***Where a product purchased in a listed country and then used in another listed country, the international TEFAL/T-FAL guarantee duration is the
one in the country of usage, even if the product was purchased in a listed country with different guarantee duration. The repair process may require
a longer time if the product is not locally sold by TEFAL/T-FAL. If the product is not repairable in the new country, the international TEFAL/T-FAL
guarantee is limited to a replacement by a similar or alternative product at similar cost, where possible.

Your TEFAL product is guaranteed for 2 years. The guarantee covers exclusively the repair of a defective product, but at

product repaired, has to log a service request on the dedicated Smartphone application TEFAL SERVICE APP or by calling TEFAL Consumer Care
Center at 1860-200-1232, Opening hours Mon-Sat 09 AM to 06 PM. Products returned by Post will not be covered by the guarantee. As a proof
of purchase consumer needs to provide both this stamped guarantee card and cash memo.

10. Ne posez pas cet appareil sur une cuisinière à gaz ou électrique ou près de celle-ci ni
dans un four chauffé.
11. N’utilisez cet appareil que pour l’usage pour lequel il a été conçu.
