About the Iomega
®
DVR Expander
• Connects to the eSATA connector on compatible Scientific Atlanta Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) to provide
additional storage capacity for your recordings
• Stores up to 300 hours of standard-definition TV or 60 hours of high-definition TV
• No setup required – recording location is automatically managed by the DVR
• Works with Scientific Atlanta DVRs with a compatible eSATA connector*
*NOTE: The Iomega DVR Expander might not be compatible in all cable TV systems.
Quick Install Instructions
CAUTION! Before connecting the Iomega DVR Expander, make sure both it and the DVR box are unplugged from
power.
1. Turn off power to your DVR and disconnect its power cord. Wait at least 10 seconds.
2. Connect the included eSATA cable to the back of the Iomega DVR Expander and to the SATA connector
on the DVR box.
3. Connect the power supply to the back of the Iomega DVR Expander and to an AC outlet.
NOTE: The Iomega DVR Expander requires continuous power to operate correctly. Do not connect the power
supply to a switched outlet or to the back of the DVR box.
CAUTION! Do not move the Iomega DVR Expander when it is powered on.
4. Plug in the power cord for the DVR box, then turn the DVR on.
5. If the DVR asks to format the drive, press the yellow-A button on your DVR remote control. When the drive is
ready to use, the DVR will show a banner indicating that the drive is working correctly.
NOTE: If you use the Iomega DVR Expander with another device and then reconnect it to the DVR, the DVR
will display the format banner. Press the yellow-A button on the DVR remote control to format the drive. Any
recordings on the Iomega DVR Expander will be erased.
Using the Iomega DVR Expander
Your DVR will automatically use the available storage capacity on the Iomega DVR Expander. When the Iomega
DVR Expander is first connected, the recording space reported by your DVR will show a higher percentage of
available space and a lower percentage of used space. When recording TV programs, the DVR will automatically
store them on either its internal hard drive or the Iomega DVR Expander depending on which location has the
most available space.
CAUTION! Do not disconnect the Iomega DVR Expander or unplug it from power. This could cause the DVR to stop
recording or not provide enough space for future recordings.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• You cannot specify the location for recordings or move recordings from the DVR to the Iomega DVR
Expander. The location for recordings is automatically controlled by the DVR.
• You cannot move the Iomega DVR Expander from one DVR to another. If you connect the Iomega DVR
Expander to another DVR, the DVR box will display the format banner. Formatting the DVR Expander will
erase any recordings.
• The Iomega DVR Expander is compatible only with Scientific Atlanta DVRs that have an eSATA connector in
cable TV systems supporting eSATA.
• You cannot use the Iomega DVR Expander on a computer without reformatting it. This will erase any
recordings from the drive. If the Iomega DVR Expander is formatted for use on a computer, you will need to
format it again when you reconnect to the DVR box.

Disconnecting the Iomega DVR Expander
CAUTION! Never unplug or disconnect the Iomega DVR Expander while the DVR box is turned on or plugged into
power.
1. Make sure the DVR is powered off.
2. Unplug the power cord from the DVR box and wait for at least 10 seconds.
3. Unplug the power supply from the Iomega DVR Expander, then disconnect the eSATA cable from the Iomega
DVR Expander and the DVR.
Troubleshooting
The DVR does not recognize the Iomega DVR Expander
1. Follow the instructions above to safely disconnect the Iomega DVR Expander from the DVR box, then
carefully repeat the steps under “Quick Install Instructions” to reconnect it.
2. Make sure all data and power connections are secure.
3. Make sure the Iomega DVR Expander is receiving power (indicator light will glow) before turning on power to
the DVR box.
The Iomega DVR Expander is accidentally disconnected
1. Turn off power to the DVR box and disconnect its power cord. Wait at least 10 seconds.
2. Disconnect the power supply from the Iomega DVR Expander.
3. Reconnect the eSATA cable to the Iomega DVR Expander and the DVR box.
4. Reconnect the power supply to the Iomega DVR Expander.
5. Plug in the power cord for the DVR box and turn the DVR on.
NOTE: The DVR box might require that you reformat the Iomega DVR Expander, which will erase any
recordings previously stored on the drive. This happens rarely if the DVR Expander is disconnected or
accidentally unplugged while a recording is in process.
Limited Warranty
Iomega warrants this hardware product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year (90 days for
reconditioned products) from the date of purchase. This non-transferable, limited warranty is only to you, the first end-user purchaser.
This warranty does not apply to: (a) Iomega software products; (b) expendable components such as fuses or bulbs; or (c) third party
products, hardware or software, supplied with the warranted product. Iomega makes no warranty of any kind on such products which, if
included, are provided “AS IS.” This warranty also excludes damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, use of non-Iomega approved media,
exposure of media to excessive magnetic fields, or external environmental causes.
Your sole and exclusive remedy for a covered defect is repair or replacement of the defective product, at Iomega’s sole option and expense
(shipping may be charged), and Iomega may use new or refurbished parts or products to do so. If Iomega is unable to repair or replace a
defective product, your alternate exclusive remedy shall be a refund of the original purchase price.
The above is Iomega’s entire obligation to you under this warranty. IN NO EVENT SHALL IOMEGA BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,
CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR PROFITS EVEN IF IOMEGA HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. In no event shall Iomega’s liability exceed the original purchase price of the drive or the media disk. Some
jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not
apply to you.
Obtaining Warranty Service
You must notify Iomega within the warranty period to receive warranty service. Just as technology and market conditions vary, Iomega’s
specific customer support policies (including fees for services) and procedures change over time. To obtain information about Iomega’s
current policies or warranty service, please visit our website at www.iomega.com/supportpolicy.html or write to: Iomega Customer Service,
4059 South 1900 West, Roy, UT 84067. If your product is eligible for warranty service, you will be required to return it to Iomega, along with
proper identification, a return authorization number obtained from the Iomega website or provided by the Iomega representative, and proof
of purchase. Iomega will not protect, recover, or return data during warranty service so you should duplicate your data before shipment.
Limitations
THE ABOVE WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the extent permitted by applicable
law, IOMEGA SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR
A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Any implied warranty required by applicable law shall be limited in duration to the express warranty term. Some
jurisdictions do not allow disclaimers of implied warranties or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may
not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Any suit for breach
of any warranty on your Product must be filed within one (1) year of the first date the suit could have been brought.

Instructions d’installation rapide
ATTENTION ! Avant de connecter l’Iomega DVR Expander, assurez-vous que ni l’Iomega DVR Expander ni le boîtier
DVR ne sont branchés.
1. Mettez votre DVR hors tension et déconnectez son câble d’alimentation. Attendez au moins 10 secondes.
2. Connectez le câble eSATA (fourni) au dos de l’Iomega DVR Expander et au connecteur SATA sur le boîtier
DVR.
3. Connectez le câble d’alimentation au dos de l’Iomega DVR Expander et à une prise secteur.
REMARQUE : l’Iomega DVR Expander nécessite une alimentation continue pour fonctionner correctement. Ne
connectez pas le câble d’alimentation à une prise commandée par interrupteur ou au dos du boîtier DVR.
ATTENTION ! Ne déplacez pas l’Iomega DVR Expander lorsqu’il est sous tension.
4. Branchez le câble d’alimentation du boîtier DVR puis mettez le DVR sous tension.
5. Si le DVR vous invite à formater le disque, appuyez sur le bouton A jaune de la télécommande de votre DVR.
Lorsque le disque est prêt à être utilisé, le DVR affiche une bannière indiquant que le disque fonctionne
correctement.
REMARQUE : si vous utilisez l’Iomega DVR Expander avec un autre dispositif puis que vous le reconnectez au
DVR, le DVR affichera la bannière de formatage. Appuyez sur le bouton A jaune de la télécommande du DVR
pour formater le disque. Tous les enregistrements présents sur l’Iomega DVR Expander seront effacés.
Utilisation de l’Iomega DVR Expander
Votre DVR utilisera automatiquement la capacité de stockage disponible sur l’Iomega DVR Expander. Lors de la
première connexion de l’Iomega DVR Expander, l’espace d’enregistrement indiqué par votre DVR affichera un
pourcentage d’espace disponible supérieur et un pourcentage d’espace utilisé inférieur. Lors de l’enregistrement
de programmes télévisés, le DVR les stockera automatiquement soit sur son disque dur interne, soit sur l’Iomega
DVR Expander en fonction du dispositif ayant le plus d’espace disponible.
ATTENTION ! Ne débranchez ou ne déconnectez jamais l’Iomega DVR Expander lorsque le boîtier DVR est sous
tension ou branché. Ceci pourrait causer l’interruption de l’enregistrement par le DVR ou un espace insuffisant
pour les enregistrements futurs.
REMARQUES IMPORTANTES :
• Vous ne pouvez pas spécifier l’emplacement des enregistrements ni déplacer les enregistrements du DVR
vers l’Iomega DVR Expander. L’emplacement des enregistrements est contrôlé automatiquement par le DVR.
• Vous ne pouvez pas déplacer l’Iomega DVR Expander d’un DVR à un autre. Si vous connectez l’Iomega DVR
Expander à un autre DVR, le boîtier DVR affichera la bannière de formatage. Le formatage du DVR Expander
effacera tous les enregistrements.
• L’Iomega DVR Expander est compatible uniquement avec les DVR Scientific Atlanta qui disposent d’un
connecteur eSATA dans les systèmes TV par câble prenant en charge eSATA.
• Vous ne pouvez pas utiliser l’Iomega DVR Expander sur un ordinateur sans le reformater. Ceci effacera tous
les enregistrements présents sur le disque. Si l’Iomega DVR Expander est formaté pour être utilisé sur un
ordinateur, vous devrez le formater de nouveau lors de la reconnexion au boîtier DVR.

Déconnexion de l’Iomega DVR Expander
ATTENTION ! Ne débranchez ni ne déconnectez jamais l’Iomega DVR Expander lorsque le boîtier DVR est sous
tension ou branché.
1. Assurez-vous que le DVR est hors tension.
2. Débranchez le cordon d’alimentation du boîtier DVR et attendez au moins 10 secondes.
3. Débranchez le câble d’alimentation de l’Iomega DVR Expander, puis déconnectez le câble eSATA de l’Iomega
DVR Expander et du DVR.
Dépannage
Le DVR ne reconnaît pas l’Iomega DVR Expander
1. Suivez les instructions ci-dessus pour déconnecter l’Iomega DVR Expander du boîtier DVR en toute sécurité,
puis répétez les étapes de la section « Instructions d’installation rapide » pour le reconnecter.
2. Assurez-vous que les connexions des câbles de données et de l’alimentation sont bien insérées.
3. Assurez-vous que l’Iomega DVR Expander est alimenté (l’indicateur lumineux s’allume) avant de mettre le
boîtier DVR sous tension.
L’Iomega DVR Expander est accidentellement déconnecté
1. Mettez le boîtier DVR hors tension et déconnectez son câble d’alimentation. Attendez au moins 10 secondes.
2. Déconnectez le câble d’alimentation de l’Iomega DVR Expander.
3. Reconnectez le câble eSATA à l’Iomega DVR Expander et au boîtier DVR.
4. Reconnectez le câble d’alimentation à l’Iomega DVR Expander.
5. Branchez le câble d’alimentation pour le boîtier DVR puis mettez le DVR sous tension.
REMARQUE : le boîtier DVR peut nécessiter un reformatage de l’Iomega DVR Expander. Dans ce cas, tous les
enregistrements précédemment stockés sur le périphérique seront supprimés. Cela se produit rarement,
lorsque le DVR Expander est déconnecté ou débranché accidentellement lors d’un enregistrement en cours.
Garantie Limitée

prix d’achat d’origine.
