Use and Operation
The Bullard TrakLite is the first integrated helmet light available for American-
style fire helmets. The TrakLite illuminates dark, low visibility areas via eight
bright LED lights mounted to the front of the helmet and includes a blue
LED indicator light mounted on the rear of the helmet for crew tracking and
accountability. The integration of the TrakLite into Bullard fire helmets enables
straightforward operation and maintenance. The TrakLite is compatible with
Bullard UST6, FX, PX and LT Series structural fire fighting helmets.
Use and Operation
Powering the TrakLite
THIS EQUIPMENT IS SUITABLE FOR USE IN CLASS I, DIVISION 2, GROUPS A,
B, C, D OR NON-HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS ONLY.
The oversized power switch on the TrakLite is designed for easy operation
with a large gloved hand (Figure 1). The rotary switch operates simply with a
quarter turn and stops at the ON and OFF positions, enabling easy operation
while wearing the helmet. To power on the TrakLite, turn the switch clockwise
until the indicator is pointed to the ON position. To power off the unit, turn the
switch counterclockwise so that the indicator is pointed to the OFF position.
When powered on, both the front and rear lights will illuminate and will
continue to illuminate until powered off.
Battery Installation and Replacement
The Bullard TrakLite is operated by four (4) replaceable AAA alkaline batteries
(included). The battery housing is located under the helmet brim at the
rear of the helmet. Prior to opening the battery housing lid, wipe down the
helmet and battery housing to make sure no debris falls into the battery
compartment.
To install or replace the batteries, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove
the two screws securing the battery housing lid to the battery housing (Figure
2) and remove the battery housing lid. Install the batteries according to the
polarity (+ and – indicators) in the battery housing. When finished, replace
the battery housing lid and securely fasten using the screw.
Care Instructions
After each use or as needed, clean the light housing, glass windows, and
battery housing with mild soap and detergent ensuring that the battery
compartment remains dry and clean.

Only install the batteries as directed in this manual and in accordance with the
polarity indications in the battery housing (Figure 2). Failure to observe this
warning may result in battery damage, product damage and/or serious injury.
WARNING
Do not open in a potentially explosive area or zone.
Do not use solvents or paint thinners to clean the TrakLite, as they could
permanently mar the surface or degrade the protective properties of the
casing. Clean only with a damp cloth in a non-hazardous area. Do not
submerge the helmet or any part of the TrakLite in water or other liquids
and do not expose the TrakLite to high pressure water.
CAUTION
EXPLOSION HAZARD - BATTERIES MUST BE CHANGED OR REMOVED IN AN
AREA KNOWN TO BE NON-HAZARDOUS.

Service
If the TrakLite should fail to operate, first make sure the batteries are good
and are installed properly (Figure 2). If after verifying battery performance
and installation, the unit is not performing properly, please contact Bullard
Customer Service at 877-BULLARD (285-5273). Outside the US and Canada,
call 1-859-234- 6611. Describe the problem to the Bullard representative as
completely as possible. For your convenience, your representative will try to
help you diagnose or correct the problem over the phone. Before returning
the product, you should verify with your representative that the product
should be returned to Bullard. Bullard Customer Service will provide you with
written permission and a return authorization number.
Prior to shipment for service, decontaminate and clean your helmet and TrakLite
to remove any hazardous or contaminated materials that may have settled on
the product during use. Laws and/or shipping regulations prohibit the shipment
of hazardous or contaminated materials. Products suspected of contamination
will be professionally decontaminated at the customer’s expense.
Warranty
Bullard warrants to the original purchaser that the TrakLite is free of defects
in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of
12 months from date of manufacture. Bullard’s obligation under this warranty
is limited to repairing or replacing, at Bullard’s option, articles that are
returned within the warranty period and that, after examination, are shown to
Bullard’s satisfaction to be defective, subject to the following limitations:
a. Article must be returned to Bullard with shipping charges prepaid
b. Article must not be altered from its original configuration
c. A Return Authorization (R.A.) must be obtained from Bullard Customer
Service prior to shipment to Bullard. The R.A. should be prominently
displayed on the outside of the shipping carton.
In no event shall Bullard be responsible for damages, loss of use, or other
indirect, incidental, consequential or special costs, expenses, or damages
incurred by the purchaser, notwithstanding that Bullard has been advised of
the possibility of such damages.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE
LIMITED IN DURATION TO 12 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE OF
THIS PRODUCT.

Utilisation et fonctionnement
Le système TrakLite de Bullard est le premier système d’éclairage intégré au
casque offert pour les casques de sapeur-pompier de style américain. Le système
TrakLite illumine les zones sombres à faible visibilité au moyen de huit lumières DEL
montées à l’avant du casque et comprend un voyant DEL bleu
monté à l’arrière du casque pour permettre à l’équipe de repérer ses membres et
pour rendre compte. L’intégration du système TrakLite dans les casques de sapeur-
pompier de Bullard offre un fonctionnement et un entretien simples. Le système
TrakLite est compatible avec les casques de sapeur-pompier structurel UST6, FX,
PX et LT Series de Bullard.
Utilisation et fonctionnement
Allumage du système TrakLite
CET ÉQUIPEMENT EST CONÇU POUR ÊTRE UTILISÉ UNIQUEMENT DANS LES
ZONES DE CLASSE I, DE DIVISION 2, DE GROUPES A, B, C, D OU DANS DES
ENDROITS NON DANGEREUX.
L’interrupteur d’alimentation surdimensionné sur le TrakLite est conçu pour offrir
une utilisation facile avec une main gantée d’un gros gant (Figure 1). L’interrupteur
rotatif fonctionne simplement en un quart de tour et s’arrête aux positions ON
(MARCHE) et OFF (ARRÊT), ce qui permet une utilisation facile tout en portant le
casque. Pour allumer le système TrakLite, faites tourner l’interrupteur en sens
horaire jusqu’à ce que l’indicateur pointe la position ON. Pour l’éteindre, faites
tourner l’interrupteur en sens antihoraire jusqu’à ce que l’indicateur pointe la
position OFF. Une fois le système allumé, les lumières avant et arrière s’allument et
demeureront allumées jusqu’à l’arrêt du système.
Insertion et remplacement des piles
Le système TrakLite de Bullard fonctionne à l’aide de quatre (4) piles AAA
remplaçables alcalines (incluses). Le compartiment des piles est situé sous le bord
arrière du casque. Avant d’ouvrir le couvercle du compartiment des piles, essuyer
le casque et le compartiment des piles pour vous assurer qu’aucun débris ne tombe
dans le compartiment des piles.
Pour insérer ou remplacer les piles, utilisez un tournevis cruciforme pour retirer les
deux vis fixant le couvercle du compartiment des piles à celui-ci (Figure 2) et retirez
le couvercle du compartiment des piles. Insérez les piles en respectant la polarité
(indicateurs + et -) indiquée dans le compartiment des piles. Lorsque vous avez
terminé, replacez le couvercle du compartiment des piles et serrez les vis.
Care Instructions
Après chaque utilisation ou au besoin, nettoyez le boîtier d’éclairage, les fenêtres
en verre et le compartiment des piles avec un savon et un détergent doux afin de
garantir que le compartiment des piles demeure sec et propre.

Insérez les piles uniquement comme indiqué dans ce manuel et en conformité
avec les indications de polarité dans le compartiment des piles (Figure 2). Le
non-respect de cet avertissement peut entraîner des dommages aux piles,
endommager le produit et/ou causer des blessures graves.
WARNING
Ne l’ouvrez pas dans une zone ou un endroit potentiellement explosif.
N’utilisez pas de solvants ou de diluants pour nettoyer le système TrakLite,
car ils pourraient abîmer de façon permanente la surface ou dégrader
les propriétés protectrices du boîtier. Nettoyez-le uniquement avec un
chiffon humide dans une zone non dangereuse. Ne plongez pas le casque
ou une partie du système TrakLite dans l’eau ou dans d’autres liquides, et
n’exposez pas le système TrakLite à l’eau sous pression élevée.

Réparation
Si le système TrakLite ne fonctionne pas, vérifiez d’abord que les piles sont bonnes
et correctement insérées (Figure 2). Si l’appareil ne fonctionne toujours pas
correctement après avoir vérifié l’état et l’insertion des piles, veuillez communiquer
avec le Service à la clientèle de Bullard au 877-BULLARD (285-5273). En dehors
des É.-U. et du Canada, appelez le 1-859-234-6611. Décrivez le problème au
représentant de Bullard de la manière la plus précise et complète que possible.
Pour votre commodité, votre représentant essaiera de vous aider à diagnostiquer
ou à corriger le problème au téléphone. Avant de retourner le produit, vous devriez
vérifier auprès de votre représentant si le produit doit être retourné à Bullard. Le
Service à la clientèle de Bullard vous enverra une autorisation écrite et un numéro
d’autorisation de retour.
Avant d’expédier votre produit en réparation, décontaminez et nettoyez votre
casque ainsi que votre système TrakLite pour enlever toute matière dangereuse
ou contaminée qui aurait pu se déposer sur le produit lors de son utilisation. Les
lois et/ou les réglementations en matière de transports interdisent l’expédition de
matières dangereuses ou contaminées. Les produits soupçonnés d’être contaminés
seront professionnellement décontaminés aux frais du client.
Garantie
Bullard garantit à l’acheteur original que le système TrakLite est exempt de défauts
de matériaux et de fabrication en vertu d’une utilisation normale et d’un entretien
routinier pour une période de
12 mois à compter de la date de fabrication. L’obligation de Bullard en vertu de
cette garantie est limitée à la réparation ou au remplacement, au choix de Bullard,
des articles qui sont retournés dans la période de garantie et qu’ils sont déclarés
défectueux à la suite d’un examen à la satisfaction de Bullard, sous réserve des
limitations suivantes :
a. L’article doit être retourné à Bullard avec les frais d’expédition prépayés
b. La configuration d’origine de l’article ne doit pas avoir été modifiée
c. Une autorisation de retour (AdR) doit être obtenue du Service à la clientèle de
Bullard avant d’expédier le produit à Bullard. L’AdR doit être affichée et bien en
vue sur l’extérieur du carton d’emballage.
En aucun cas, Bullard ne sera tenu responsable des dommages, de la perte
d’usage, ou d’autres coûts, dépenses ou dommages accessoires, indirects ou
spéciaux encourus par l’acheteur, nonobstant le fait que Bullard ait été informé de
la possibilité de tels dommages.
