Please read and observe the following safety points at all times.
WARNING
Ensure that your amplifier and receiver is switched off before connecting the speakers.
Make sure that you have connected the plus (+) and minus (–) terminals of each speaker to the
corresponding plus (+) and minus (–) terminals on the amplifier or receiver.
Before connecting the subwoofer to a power outlet, make sure that the operating voltage of your local
power supply is identical to that specified for the subwoofer (

20v U.S. and CAN).
Ensure the subwoofer is off before connecting the input signal cable on its internal amplifier.
Make sure that all screws on the binding posts are snug, especially if you are using bare speaker wires.
Contact between bare speaker wires may cause short-circuit and can potentially damage your equipment.
Continuously driving a low power amplifier at high power levels can cause distortion of the signal,
amplifier clipping and may cause severe damage to your speakers. High power amplifiers will deliver
better performance.
Do not drive speaker units with a continuous wattage exceeding the maximum power indicated in this
instruction manual for each speaker model.
For the best performance possible use the high quality speaker and interconnect cables.
Do not place loudspeakers in dusty or humid environments.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

2. Arrange base components in order as illustrated above and line up the screw holes.
3. Insert screws into holes and hand tighten.
4. Use a screwdriver to snug down screws until they are flush with the base.

Monster StreamLine speakers let you change their color by switching side panels. The side panels can be easily
removed and replaced as shown in the illustration below. The side panels sets are available separately in 6 different
colors (Black, Red, Yellow, Dark Cherry, Silver, and Maple) with a high gloss finish.

SPEAKER CONNECTION
Ensure that the positive terminal on the speaker (marked + and colored red) is connected to the positive output
terminal of the amplifier. Similarly, the negative speaker terminal (marked - and colored black) should be connected
to the negative amplifier terminal. Incorrect connection can result in poor sound imaging and reduced bass output.
Make sure that you choose the correct output speaker terminals on your receiver to connect your speakers.
For the front left and right speakers:
Use the front right and left speaker output terminals on your
receiver to connect two speakers.
For the center speaker:
Use the “center” speaker output terminals on your receiver to connect your speaker.
For surround speakers:
Use the two “surround” speaker output terminals on your receiver to connect
two speakers.

Most AV receivers also include Crossover Frequency Controls to set at different low frequencies the roll off point
of the signal led to the subwoofer.
Set the Operation Mode switch on your subwoofer to the THX position if you have a THX amplifier or to the
VAR position if you do not. The VAR position offers independent control of the subwoofer’s volume through
the knob on the rear of the subwoofer.
Set the Phase switch to Normal position.
Go to the Surround Setup on your AV receiver “Menu” to calibrate the channel level, delay and size.
NOTE:
In many systems, delay calibration is measured in meters, not feet from the hearing position.
For further details consult your amplifier’s manual.
Adjust the crossover frequency between

20Hz and
1
50Hz on the Crossover Frequency Control of your AV
receiver. Setting the crossover frequency at
1
20Hz ensures better subwoofer performance and gives you
more flexible placement options. Setting the crossover frequency at
1
50Hz ensures higher output power,
but the subwoofer must be placed closer to the speakers.
The adjustment of crossover frequency takes place through a technique called bi-amplification in which
the lower frequencies are being amplified exclusively by the subwoofer’s built-in amplifier. This improves
the frequency response of a home theater audio system, lowers the signal distortion, and increases
the dynamic range.
StreamLine THX Subwoofer Technical Specifications
To properly meet the requirements of a THX Select certified subwoofer system, two Streamline subwoofers must
be used in your home theater setup at the same time. In order to properly setup the two subwoofers, they must be
hooked up in series, or “daisy chained”.
Turn your home theater system OFF.
Set the operation Mode switch on both subwoofers to THX mode.
Connect the primary subwoofer directly to your THX amplifier/receiver.
Connect cable for the secondary subwoofer to the signal OUT on the back of the primary sub.
Now connect the cable to the secondary sub signal IN.
Some adjustment in subwoofer placement may be necessary. Try and test various subwoofer locations
for optimum audio performance.

The sound field generated by a multichannel home theater audio system surrounds the audience, creating a three
dimension audio image. StreamLine speakers will provide hi-end performance multichannel sound, but in order
to get the maximum accuracy and fidelity you should follow a careful set-up procedure.
Ideally, the five speakers should be equidistant from the listener and generate identical sound levels
when fed an identical signal.
In real life, speaker placement may not be equidistant; so time delays must be employed to ensure
that sound from all speakers arrives at the listener’s ears at the same time.

Placement of StreamLine Tower for Front Right and Left Channels
1. Place your StreamLine front, left, and right speakers equidistant from the TV or Projector screen.
2. Measure the distance between your Left and Right speakers (LR).
3. Measure the distance between your listening position and the middle point between your Left
and Right speakers.
4. The difference in length of the above distances should be no more than
1
5%.
5. Angle your speakers inwards and towards the listening position. Find the optimum angle that produces
the best sound.
6. If possible adjust your speakers so that the tweeters are at about the same height as your ears
when sitting at the listening position.
7. To reinforce lower frequencies, position the speakers closer to the walls of the room. To reduce lower
frequencies, move them towards the center of the room.
8. Do not spread your speakers too far apart, or there will be a “dead spot” in the audio.
9. Do not place your speakers too close together or the wide sound stage your StreamLine speakers
are designed to deliver will collapse.
Placement of Center Channel
Video screen: Place your center speaker directly above or below your video screen, wherever is closest
to ear level.
Projection screen: Place your center speaker in front of the center of your screen. If your screen is
acoustically transparent you can place the center channel speaker behind your projection screen.
Placement of Surround Right and Left Channels
Your StreamLine tower speakers can also be used for the surround channels.

(horizontal placement) or as a surround speaker (vertical placement.) Additionally, by removing the side panels,

1. Vérifiez que toutes les pièces nécessaires sont en votre possession.
2. Disposez les éléments du socle dans l’ordre comme illustré ci-dessus et alignez les orifices des vis.

BRANCHEMENT DES ENCEINTES
Veillez à ce que la borne positive de l’enceinte (marquée + et de couleur rouge) soit branchée à la borne de sortie
positive de l’amplificateur. De même, la borne négative de l’enceinte (marquée - et de couleur noire) doit être
branchée à la borne négative de l’amplificateur. Un branchement incorrect peut se traduire par une mauvaise
imagerie acoustique et une sortie réduite des graves.
Assurez-vous de bien choisir les bornes d’enceintes de sortie correctes sur votre récepteur pour brancher
vos enceintes.
Pour les enceintes avant gauche et droite :
Utilisez les bornes de sortie d’enceintes avant droite
et gauche sur votre récepteur pour brancher les deux enceintes.
Pour l’enceinte centrale :
Utilisez les bornes de sortie d’enceinte « centrale » sur votre récepteur pour
brancher votre enceinte.
Pour les enceintes surround :
Utilisez les deux bornes de sortie d’enceintes « surround » sur votre
récepteur pour brancher les deux enceintes.

La plupart des récepteurs AV sont également équipés de commandes de fréquence de croisement qui permettent
de régler, à différentes basses fréquences, le point d’affaiblissement du signal dirigé vers le subwoofer.
Réglez le commutateur Mode de fonctionnement de votre subwoofer en position THX si vous avez
un amplificateur THX ou en position VAR si vous n’en avez pas. La position VAR offre une commande
indépendante du volume du subwoofer via le bouton situé à l’arrière du subwoofer.
Réglez le commutateur Phase en position normale.
Consultez la section Installation Surround du « Menu » de votre récepteur AV pour étalonner le niveau,
la temporisation et la taille du canal.
REMARQUE :
Dans de nombreux systèmes, l’étalonnage de la temporisation est mesuré en mètres, et non
en pieds, par rapport à la position d’écoute. Pour de plus amples informations, consultez le
manuel de votre amplificateur.
