Positiontheappliance andallowittostandfortwotothreehoursbeforeitisturnedonforthefirsttime
toallowthesystemtosettle.Donotpositionnexttoanyheatsourcee.g.cooker,boilerorindirect
sunlightetc.
Allowatleast10cmofspaceatthetopand10cmofspaceonbothsidesoftheapplianceandbetween
thebackoftheapplianceandthewallforadequateaircirculation.Theapplianceisnotdesignedfor
recessedinstallation(“buildingin”).
Installonagoodfirmlevelsurface,andanyunevennessofthefloorshouldbecorrectedpriorto
installation,slightunevennesscanbeovercomebyadjustingthefrontfeet.
NOTE:Iftheapplianceispositionedonacarpet,softfloorcoveringyoushouldreadjustthefrontfeet
oncetheappliancehashadtimetosettle.
OPERATION
Thisapplianceisdesignedtooperateinambienttemperaturebetween16and38.Ifthese
temperaturesareexceeded,i.e.colderorwarmer,theappliancewillnotoperatecorrectly.Ifthe
ambienttemperaturesareexceededforlongperiods,thetemperatureinthefreezersectionwillrise
above‐18andfoodspoilagemayoccur.
Removeallpackagingmaterialsfromtheappliance.Washtheinsideofthecabinetwithlukewarm
waterandbicarbonateofsoda(5mlto0.5litreofwater).Drytheappliancethoroughly.
Whenyouusethefreezercompartmentforthefirsttimeorafterdefrosting,setthethermostatcontrol
tothemaximumpositionforatleast2hoursbeforeintroducingfoodtobestored,andthenreadjustto
thenormalposition.
Ifthereisapowerfailure,donotopenthedoor.Frozenfoodshouldnotbeaffectedifthefailurelasts
forlessthan
12hours.Ifthefailureislonger,thenthefoodshouldbecheckedandeithereaten
immediatelyorcookedandthenrefrozen.
Settingthethermostatknob
Theapplianceiscontrolledwithathermostatknoblocatedinsidethefridge,towardstheupper
righthandcorner.TurntheknobfromtheOFFpositiontowardsthehighernumbersforcolder
temperatures.Theknobcanbeadjustedfromsetting1to7.
Higherset tingsontheknob(highernumbers)meanlowertemperatures(colder)inallcompartmentsof
theappliance.
Changesoftheambienttemperatureaff ecttemperatureintheinterioroftheappliancesochoosea
correctsettingofthetemperaturecontrolknob,dependingonyourambientconditions.
IntheOFFpositiontheappliancedoesnotoperate(thecoolingsystemisswitchedoff),butpower
supplyisnotinterrupted.
Setthethermostatknobtoamiddlepositiontoachieve‐18inthefreezercompartment.
PleaseNote:Iftheapplianceisswitchedoffyoumustwaitatleast5minutesbeforerestartingthe

applianceorreinsertingtheplugintothewalloutlet.Thisistoallowtheprotectiondeviceinthe
compressortoreset.
Ifthecompressorfailstostartcorrectlyremovetheplugandwaitfor5minutesbeforeyoutryagain

Freezingfresh
food
Ensurethatyourfreezingoperationsarecarriedoutunderthemosthygienicconditionsasfreezing
alonedoesnotimprovethefood.
Neverputhotorevenwarmfoodstuffsintothefreezercompartment.
Priortofreezingthefood,foodshouldalwaysbecoveredtightlywithfoil,plasticfilm,placedinplastic
bagsorstoredinairtightcontainers.Thiswillpreventfoodfromdehydratingandtopreventanystrong
odoursofsomefoodstransferringtomilderones.
Storingfoodintherefrigeratorcompartment
Donotallowrawmeattocomeintocontactwithcookedfoods.Forsafety,onlystoreraw
meat
fortwoorthreedays.Fruitandvegetablesshouldbethoroughlycleanedandplaced
inthecrisper.
Milkandotherliquidsshouldbesealedwithlidsandplacedinthebottleshelfinthedoor.
NOTE:Theambienttemperatureofthefreshlystoredfoodandhowoftenthedooris
openedaffectthe
temperatureintherefrigeratorcompartment.Ifrequired,changethethermostattemperature
settings.
Storingfrozenfood
Allfrozenfoodyoupurchaseshouldbeplacedinthefreezercompartmentassoonaspossible toavoid
themfromdefrostingandspoiling.
Allstoragerecommendationsprintedonthepackagingoffrozenfoodbythemanufacturershould
alwaysbefollowed.
Whenusingthefreezercompartmentforthefirsttimeorafterdefrosting,setthethermostatknobto
themaximumpositionforatleast2hoursbeforeintroducingfoodtobestored,andthenreadjustitto
thenormalposition.

Makingicecubes
1. Filltheicetray(notsupplied)with¾fullofcleanwater.
2. Placethetrayinthefreezercompartment.
3. Closethedoor.
Toremovetheicecubesfromthetray,putthetrayunderrunningwaterforawhileandthentwistthe
trayslightlytoloosentheicecubes.
Reversingthedoor
Refrigeratorcompartmentdefrosting
Therefrigeratorcompartmentdefrostingprocessiscarriedoutautomaticallyeverytimethecompressor
stops.
Thedefrostwaterisautomaticallyroutedtothedrainportandintoatrayplacedonthetopof
the
compressortotherearoftheappliancefromwhichitevaporates.
Makesurethedrainportonthe refrigeratorcompartmentattherearoftheapplianceiskeptclear.

Freezercompartmentdefrosting
Frostwillaccumulateinsidethefreezercompartmentdependinguponthelengthoftimeduringwhich
thedoorisleftopenortheamountofmoistureintroduced.
Itisessentialtoensurethatnofrostoriceisallowedtoformatplaceswhereitwillaffecttheclose
fittingofthedoorseal.
Thismightallowairtopenetratethecabinet,thusencouragingcontinuousrunningofthecompressor.
Thinfrostformationisquitesoftandcanberemovedwithabrushorplasticscraper.Donotusemetalor
sharpscrapers,mechanicaldevicesorothermeanstoacceleratethedefrostingprocess.Removeall
dislodgedfrostfromthecabinetfloor.
Fortheremovalofthinfrostitisnotnecessarytoswitchofftheappliance.
Fortheremovalofheavyicedepositsdisconnecttheappliancefromthemainssupplyandemptythe
contentsintocardboardboxesandwrapinthickblanketsorlayersofpapertokeepthemcold.
Defrostingwillbemosteff ectiveifcarriedoutwhenthefreezercompartmentisempty,anditshouldbe
carriedoutasquicklyaspossible.
Anincreaseintemperatureoffrozenfoodpackagesduringdefrostingwillshortenthestoragelife.
Providedthatthecontentsarewellwrappedandplacedinacoolarea,theyshouldkeepforseveral
hours.
Examinethecontentswhenreplacingtheminthefreezerandifsomeofthepackageshavethawedout.
Afterdefrostingisfinishedcleantheinsidewithasolutionofwarmwaterwitha
littlebicarbonateof
sodaandthendrythoroughly.Washallremovablepartsinthesamewayandreassemble.
Reconnecttheappliancetothemainssupplyandleavefor2to3hoursonsettingnumber5before
introducingthefoodbackintothefreezercompartmentandsettingthethermostatto
yournormal
setting.
Noisefromyourappliance
Youmaynoticesomeratherunusualnoises.Thenoisesarecausedbycirculationofrefrigerantinthe
coolingsystem.IthasbecomemorepronouncedsincetheintroductionofCFCfreegases.Thisisnota
faultandwillnotaffecttheperformanceofyourfridge.
Prolongedoffperiods
Iftheapplianceisnotinuseforalongperiodoftime,proceedasfollows:

Check the appliance is level and it is not in contact with another appliance or kitchen furniture.
The appliance does not cool sufficiently.
If the door has been opened too often or it has been left open for a while it will take time for the
appliance to reach its set temperature.
Check the airflow over the rear of the appliance has not been reduced due to insufficient
clearance.
Check if a large quantity of fresh food has been introduced.

INSTALLATION
Mettezl’appareilenpositionpuisattendezdeuxàtroisheuresavantdelemettreenmarchepourla
premièrefois,letempsquelesysmesemetteenplace.L'appareilnedoitpasêtreplacéàproximité
d’unesourcedechaleur(ex:cuisinière,chaudière,lumièredirectedusoleiletc.).
Afindepermettreunebonneventilation,laissezunespaced’aumoins10cmaudessusdel’appareilet
de10cmsurlescôtésetderrière.Cetappareiln’estpasconçupouruneinstallationencastrée.
L’appareildoitêtreinstallésurunesurfaceplane,solideetstable;touteirrégularitéduplancherdoit
êtrecorrigéeavantl’installation;sil’appareilestlégèrementbancal,ajustezlahauteurdespiedsde
devant.
REMARQUE:Sil’appareilestplacésuruntapisouunrevêtementdesolsouple,glezdenouveaules
piedsavantunefoisquel’appareileststabilisé.
UTILISATION
Cetappareilestconçupourfonctionnerdansunetempératureambiantesituéeentre16°Cet
38°C.L'appareilnepeutpasfonctionnercorrectementendehorsdecetteplagede
température.Silatempératureambianteestdépasséependantunelonguedurée,la
températuredanslecongélateurremonteraaudessusde‐18°Cetlesalimentsrisquentde
s'abîmer.
Avantlapremièreutilisation,retireztouslesmatériauxd’emballagedel’appareil.Lavez
l'intérieurdel'appareilavecdel'eautièdeetdubicarbonatedesoude(5mlpour50cld'eau).
Séchezbienl'appareil.
Lorsdelapremièreutilisationcompartimentducongélateuretaprèsle
dégivrage,mett ezle
thermostatsurlecranmaximalaumoins2heuresavantdemettrelesaliments,puisremettezle
enpositionnormale.
Encasdecoupuredecourant,n’ouvrezpaslaporte.Lesalimentssurgelésnedevraientpasêtre
affectéssilacoupureduremoinsde12heures.
Encasdecoupurepluslongue,vérifiezles
alimentset,lecaséchéant,consommezlesimmédiatementoufaiteslescuireavantdeles
recongeler.
Réglageduthermostat
Lefrigérateurestcommandéparunboutondethermostatsituéenhautàdroite.Pourglerle
frigérateurplusfroid,tournezleboutonducranOFF(0)verslesnombresélevés.Lethermostatpeut
êtrerégléde1à7.
Plusleboutonestsurunchiffreélevé,pluslatempératureestbassedanstouslescompartimentsde
l’appareil.
Leschangementsdetempératureambianteaffectentlatempératureàl’intérieurdel’appareil;ilest
doncimportantderéglerl’appareilenfonctiondesconditionsambiantes.
