to be part of your journey with your little one. While traveling with the

i-Venture™ R enhanced child restraint you are using a high quality, fully

certified safety i-Size enhanced child restraint. Please carefully read this

manual and follow each step to ensure a comfortable ride and best pro-

tection for your child.

To use this Joie enhanced child restraint with the i-Size ISOFIX connec-

tions according to the ECE R129/03 Regulation, your child must meet

the following requirements.

Rearward Facing: Child height 40cm-105cm/ Child weight 18.5kg;

Forward Facing: Child height 76cm-105cm/ Child weight 18.5kg;

tion from injury in an accident. However﹐ proper use of

this enhanced child restraint will reduce the risk of

serious injury or death to your child.

! The enhanced child restraint may not fit in all appro-

ved vehicles when used in one of these positions.

! Be sure that the enhanced child restraint is installed in

such a way that no part of it interferes with movable

seats or in the operation of vehicle doors.

! DO NOT use the rearward facing enhanced child

restraint systems in seating positions where there is

an active frontal airbag installed. Death or serious

injury may occur. Please reference vehicle owner’s

manual for more information.

! To use this enhanced child restraint with the ISOFIX

connections according to the Regulation No.129/03﹐

your child must meet the following requirements.

WARNING

! IMPORTANT - DO NOT USE FORWARD FACING

BEFORE THE CHILD’S AGE EXCEEDS 15 months

(Refer to instructions).

! Any support-leg should be in contact with the vehicle

floor and any straps restraining the child should be

adjusted to the child’s body. The straps should not be

twisted.

! When using this enhanced child restraint in baby or

toddler mode﹐ the child harness must be used cor-

rectly﹐ and ensure that any lap strap is worn low

down﹐ so that the pelvis is ﬁrmly engaged.

! DO NOT continue to use this enhanced child restraint

after it has suffered any type of crash﹐ even a minor

one. Replace immediately as there may be invisible﹐

structural damage from the crash.

! DO NOT install this enhanced child restraint without

following the instructions in this manual or you may

put your child at serious risk of injury or death.

! DO NOT make any modification to this enhanced child

restraint or use it along with component parts from

other manufacturers.

! NEVER leave your child unattended with this en-

hanced child restraint.

WARNING

! Always secure child in enhanced child restraint﹐ even

on short trips﹐ as this is when most accidents occur.

! DO NOT leave this enhanced child restraint﹐ or other

items unbelted or unsecured in your vehicle because

an unsecured enhanced child restraint can be thrown

around and may injure occupants in a sharp turn﹐

sudden stop﹐ or collision. Remove it if not in regular

use.

! DO NOT use this enhanced child restraint as a regular

chair as it tends to fall down and could injure child.

! NEVER use a second-hand enhanced child restraint or

an enhanced child restraint whose history you do not

know because it may have structural damage that

endangers your child’s safety.

! Do not place other items on top of the enhanced child

restraint if it is in the car boot to prevent damage.

! Do not allow the enhanced child restraint harness or

buckles to become trapped or caught in the vehicle

seat or door.

! Remove this enhanced child restraint from the vehicle

seat when it is not in use for a long period of time.

WARNING

! DO NOT use the enhanced child restraint system

without the soft goods.

! The enhanced child restraint system soft goods

should not be replaced with any other than the ones

recommended by the manufacturer﹐ because the soft

goods constitutes an integral part of the restraint

performance.

! DO NOT put anything other than the recommended

inner cushions in this enhanced child restraint.

! Any luggage or other objects liable to cause injuries

in the event of a collision shall be properly secured.

! Please keep this enhanced child restraint without a

textile cover away from sunlight﹐ because it may be

too hot for child’s skin. Always touch the enhanced

child restraint before placing child in it.

! DO NOT use this enhanced child restraint if it has

damaged or missing parts.

! DO NOT have your child in large/oversized clothes

when using this enhanced child restraint in baby or

toddler mode﹐ because this may prevent your child

from being properly and securely fastened by the

shoulder harness straps and the crotch strap between

the thighs.

WARNING

! To avoid suffocation﹐ remove plastic bag and

packaging materials before using this product. The

plastic bag and packaging materials should be kept

away from babies and children.

! Consult the retailer for issues concerning mainte-

nance﹐ repair and part replacement.

! Do not place any objects in the load leg area in front

of your base.

! Frequently check the ISOFIX guides for dirt and clean

them if necessary. Reliability can be effected by

ingress of dirt﹐ dust﹐ food particles etc.

! DO NOT use any load bearing contact points other

than those described in the instructions and marked

on the child restraint.

! Correct Installation is only permitted by use of the

ISOFIX connectors.

! Must use the rebound bar in rearward facing mode﹐

and remove the rebound bar in forward facing mode.

! DO NOT install this enhanced child restraint under the

following conditions:

1. Vehicle seats facing sideways or rearward with

respect to the running direction of the vehicle.

2. Vehicle seats movable during installation.

Emergency

In case of emergency or accidents, it is most important to have your

child taken care of with first aid and medical treatment immediately.

" i-Size" (Integral Universal ISOFIX Enhanced Child Restraint Systems)

is a category of Enhanced Child Restraint System primarily designed for

use in all i-Size seating position of a vehicle.

1. This is an "i-Size" Enhanced Child Restraint System. It is approved

according to Regulation No.129, for use in, i-Size compatible

vehicle seating positions as indicated by vehicle manufacturers in

the the vehicle users’ manual.

2. If in doubt, consult either the Enhanced Child Restraint System

manufacturer or the retailer.

Installation of i-size ISOFIX Base System

! Install the rebound bar to the base.

Push the rebound bar down into

the base until you hear a click

sound. 3-1

After placing i-Base Advance on the

vehicle seat, adjust the load leg

length to ensure the load leg indicator

shows green and the base is in

contact with the vehicle seat. 4

! The load leg has multiple positions.

When the load leg indicator shows

red this means the load leg is in the

wrong position.

! Make sure the load leg is in full

contact with the vehicle floor pan.

! Squeeze the load leg releasing

button, then shorten the load leg

upwards. 5

! Always make sure the support load

leg has direct contact with the floor

and is in locked position even

when the child is not in it.

! Insert ISOFIX guides to assist with

! There are 9 adjustable positions for

ISOFIX. Press the ISOFIX adjuster

button to extend the ISOFIX. 7-1 &

! Make sure that both ISOFIX

connectors are securely attached to

their ISOFIX anchor points. The

colors of the indicators on both

ISOFIX connectors should be

vehicle, press and release the

connectors from the vehicle’s

! Please install i-Venture R and the base on the rear vehicle seat, then

place the child in i-Venture R seat.

! Ensure the rebound bar is installed onto the base.

! The easiest to install i-Venture R seat to the base is when the base is

in the 7th recline position.

Rear Facing Mode

! Pull up on the i-Venture R seat to

make sure it is securely latched

onto the base.

! Make sure that there is no gap

between the base and vehicle seat.

Ensure the enhanced child restraint

latched indicator on the base show

green so that i-Venture R seat is

securely installed onto the base; if it

shows red that means the i-Venture R

3. Fix the buckles on the both sides of

the seat located on the both sides

of seat as shown to make placing

the child in rear facing mode more

convenient. 16

We recommend using the full infant insert while the baby is

under 60 cm or until they outgrow the insert. The infant insert

increases side impact protection.

Securing your Child

1. Press the webbing adjustment

button, while pulling out the

shoulder harnesses to the proper

length. 14

and pass both arms through

the harnesses. 17

! The shoulder harnesses height

must be even or slightly lower than

the child's shoulder. 18

! After the child is seated, re-check

whether the shoulder harnesses

are at the proper height.

5. Engage the buckle. 19

! Always keep child secured in

harness and properly tightened

by removing any slack.

! To remove the i-Venture R seat

off the base, press and hold the

enhanced child restraint seat

release button on the base then

lift the seat off from the base.

Please ensure the child is not in

the seat first. 21

6. Pull down the adjustment webbing

and adjust it to the proper length

to make sure your child is snugly

secured. 20

! Please install the i-Venture R and base on the vehicle seat, and then

put the child in the i-Venture R seat.

! Ensure the rebound bar is removed. 22

! The easiest to install i-Venture R seat to the base is when the base is

in the 7th recline position.

Securing your Child

1. Please remove the infant insert when the child is in the forward

facing mode.

2. Please install the i-Venture R and base (without the rebound bar

attached) on the vehicle seat, and then put the child in the

i-Venture R seat.

3. After the child is placed into the i-Venture R, check whether the

shoulder harnesses are at proper height.

1. Press the webbing adjustment

button, while pulling out the

ensure the child is not in the seat

Use Side Impact Shield

! This enhanced child restraint is

delivered with detachable side impact

protection. This side impact

protection must be used on the door

side of the vehicle for best protection.

Press the red button to disengage the buckle as 35 .

To re-attach the soft goods please repeat the above steps in the

reverse order.

1. Please adjust the head support

and check if the shoulder

harnesses are at the correct height

according to 18 27 .

2. Squeeze the head support

adjustment lever 34 -1, meanwhile

pull up or push down the head

support until it snaps into one of

the 8 positions. The head support

positions are shown as 34 .

Detach Soft Goods

! After removing the wedge from the insert, please store it some-

where that the child cannot access it.

! Please wash the seat cover and inner padding with cold water

under 30°C.

! Do not iron the soft goods.

! Do not bleach or dry clean the soft goods.

! Do not use undiluted detergents, gasoline or other organic solvent

to wash the i-Venture R seat or i-base Advance. It may cause

damage to i-Venture R enhanced child restraint.

! Do not wring out the seat cover and inner padding to dry. It may

leave the seat cover and inner padding with wrinkles.

! Please hang dry the seat cover and inner padding in the shade.

! Please remove the i-Venture R seat or i-base Advance from the

vehicle seat if not in use for a long period of time. Put the i-Venture

R enhanced child restraint in a cool, dry place where your child

cannot access it.

structurels invisibles pourraient avoir été causés par

! N'installez PAS ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré sans respecter les instructions de ce manuel﹐ ou

vous pourriez exposer votre enfant à un risque élevé de

blessures ou de mort.

! N'apportez AUCUNE modification à ce dispositif de

retenue pour enfants amélioré et ne l'utilisez pas avec des

pièces d'autres fabricants.

! Ne laissez JAMAIS votre enfant sans surveillance avec ce

! Attachez toujours l'enfant dans le dispositif de retenue

pour enfants amélioré﹐ même pour de courts trajets﹐ car

c'est dans ces circonstances que la majorité des

accidents surviennent.

! NE laissez PAS ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré ou d'autres objets détachés ou non fixés dans

votre véhicule﹐ car un dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré non fixé peut être projeté et blesser les

passagers lors de virages serrés﹐ d'arrêts soudains ou de

collisions. Il faut l’enlever en cas de non utilisation

régulière.

! N'utilisez PAS ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré comme chaise ordinaire﹐ car il pourrait tomber et

blesser l'enfant.

! N'utilisez JAMAIS un dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré d'occasion ou un dispositif de retenue pour

enfants amélioré dont vous ne connaissez pas l'historique﹐

car il pourrait présenter des dommages structurels

mettant en danger la sécurité de votre enfant.

! Ne placez pas d'autres objets sur le dispositif de retenue

pour enfants amélioré lorsqu'il est dans le coffre du

véhicule pour éviter des dommages.

! Ne laissez pas le harnais ou les boucles du dispositif de

retenue pour enfants amélioré se coincer ou se bloquer

dans un siège ou une porte du véhicule.

! Retirez ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants amélioré du

siège du véhicule si vous n'allez pas l'utiliser pendant une

durée prolongée.

AVERTISSEMENT

! N'utilisez PAS le système de retenue pour enfants

! Les pièces souples du dispositif de retenue pour

! Veuillez conserver ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré sans housse en textile à l'écart de la lumière

du soleil﹐ car il pourrait devenir trop chaud pour la peau

de l'enfant. Touchez toujours le dispositif de retenue

pour enfants amélioré avant de placer l'enfant dedans.

! N'utilisez PAS ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré si des pièces sont endommagées ou

manquantes.

! Ne mettez PAS de vêtements amples/trop grands à

votre enfant lors de l'utilisation de ce dispositif de

retenue pour enfants amélioré en mode bébé ou

bambin﹐ car cela pourrait empêcher votre enfant d'être

correctement attaché par les sangles du harnais

d’épaules et la sangle d’entrejambes entre les cuisses.

! Pour éviter les risques de suffocation﹐ enlevez le sac en

plastique et les éléments d'emballage avant d'utiliser ce

produit. Le sac en plastique et les matériaux

d'emballage doivent être conservés hors de portée des

bébés et des enfants.

! Consultez le revendeur pour tout problème concernant

la maintenance﹐ les réparations et le remplacement des

pièces.

! Ne placez aucun objet dans la zone de piètement de

charge en face de la base.

! Vérifiez régulièrement la présence de saleté sur les

guides ISOFIX et nettoyez-les si nécessaire. La fiabilité

peut être affectée par l'infiltration de poussière﹐ saletés﹐

particules de nourriture﹐ etc.

! N'utilisez PAS de points de contact porteurs autres que

ceux décrits dans les instructions et indiqués sur le

dispositif de retenue pour enfants.

! Une bonne installation n'est permise qu'avec des

connecteurs ISOFIX.

! Il faut utiliser la barre anti-rebond en mode dirigé vers

l’arrière et la retirer en mode dirigé vers l’avant.

! N'installez PAS ce dispositif de retenue pour enfants

amélioré dans les conditions suivantes :

1. Sièges de véhicule orientés sur le côté ou dos à la

route par rapport au sens de déplacement du véhicule.

2. Les sièges de véhicule amovibles lors de

l'installation.

Urgence

En cas d'urgence ou d'accident, il est très important que votre enfant

soit immédiatement pris en charge par les premiers secours et des

soins médicaux.

Informations sur le produit

« i-Size » (Systèmes de retenue pour enfants améliorés ISOFIX

universels intégrés) est une catégorie de systèmes de retenue pour

enfants améliorés principalement conçus pour être utilisés dans toutes

les positions d'assise i-Size d'un véhicule.

1. Il s'agit d'un système de retenue pour enfants amélioré "i-Size". Il

est approuvé conformément à la réglementation n°129 pour une

utilisation dans des positions de sièges de véhicules compatibles

i-Size comme indiqué par le constructeur dans le manuel de

l'utilisateur du véhicule.

2. En cas de doute, consultez le fabricant du système de retenue pour

enfants amélioré ou le revendeur.

Installation du système de base ISOFIX i-Size

! Installez la barre de rebond sur la

base. Enfoncez la barre de rebond

dans la base jusqu’à ce que vous

entendiez un déclic. 3-1

Après avoir place l’i-Base Advance

sur le siège du véhicule, ajustez la

longueur du piètement de charge de

sorte que l’indicateur du piètement de

charge soit vert et que la base soit en

contact avec le siège du véhicule. 4

! Le piètement de charge propose

plusieurs positions. Lorsque

l'indicateur de piètement de charge

est rouge, cela signifie que le

piètement de charge est dans une

mauvaise position.

! Assurez-vous que le piètement de

charge est complètement en

contact avec le plancher du

véhicule.

! Appuyez sur le bouton de

déverrouillage du piètement de

charge, puis réduisez sa longueur

vers le haut. 5

! Insérez les guides ISOFIX pour

faciliter l'installation. 6-1

! ISOFIX propose 9 positions

réglables. Appuyez sur le bouton

de réglage ISOFIX pour étendre

l'ISOFIX. 7-1 et 7-2

! Assurez-vous que les deux

connecteurs ISOFIX sont bien

attachés à leurs points d'ancrage

ISOFIX. Les indicateurs des deux

connecteurs ISOFIX doivent être

complètement verts. 8-1

! Assurez-vous toujours que le

piètement de charge est bien en

contact avec le plancher du

véhicule et qu'il est verrouillée, qu'il

y ait un enfant dans le dispositif de

retenue pour enfants amélioré ou

non.
