2. Silk’n Glide™ Intended Use
3. Contraindications
2.1 With Glide™ Safety Comes First
HPL™ technology in Glide™ - Superior safety with lower energy level
Home Pulsed Light™ technology is able to achieve long-term hair removal results at a fraction of the
energy level used in other light-based hair removal equipment. The low energy used in Glide™ reduces
its potential to cause harm or complications, and contributes to your overall safety.
Glide™ protects your eyes
The Glide™ Hair Removal Device has a built-in safety feature for eye protection. It has been designed
so that a light pulse cannot be emitted when the treatment surface is facing open air. The Pulse Trigger is
enabled only when the treatment surface is in full contact with the skin.
Glide™ protects your skin
Glide™ comes with a Skin Color Sensor enabling use only on lighter skin complexions to ensure skin safety.
Furthermore, the 0.9X3cm² Optical Lens through which pulses of light are delivered is recessed inside the
devices treatment surface. This enables Glide™ to protect your skin by avoiding direct contact between the
optical lens and the skin.
Glide™ is not designed for everyone. Please read and consider the information in the following section before use.
For further information and personalized advice, you may also visit www.silkn.com or your local Glide™ domain.
If you are unsure if Glide™ is safe for you to use, please ask your doctor or dermatologist!
Important Safety Information – Read Before Use!
DO NOT USE Glide™ on a naturally dark skin complexion!
is also intended for permanent reduction in hair regrowth, defined as the long-term, stable reduction in the
number of hairs regrowing when measured at 6, 9, and 12 months after the completion of a treatment regime.
Silk’n Glide™ is intended for removal of unwanted hair. Silk’n Glide™ is also intended to eect long term, or
permanent hair reduction. Permanent hair reduction is defined as a long-term stable reduction in the number of
hairs re-growing after a treatment regime.

English
A unique Skin Color Sensor is embedded in Glide™ to measure the treated skin complexion at the
beginning of each session and occasionally during the session. This Skin Color Sensor ensures that a pulse
will be emitted only on suitable skin tones.
Glide™ removes unwanted hair by selectively addressing hair pigment. Varied quantities of pigment
also exist in the surrounding tissue of skin. The quantity of pigment in a particular person’s skin, which is
manifested by their skin complexion, determines the degree of risk they are exposed to using Glide™.
Treating dark skin with Glide™ can result in adverse eects such as burns, blisters, and skin color changes
(hyper- or hypo-pigmentation)
Never use Silk’n Glide™ around or near the eyes – Glide™ is not recommended
for facial treatment
Tanned skin, particularly following sun exposure, contains large quantities of the pigment Melanin. This
applies to all skin types and complexions, including those which don’t seem to tan quickly. The presence of
large quantities of Melanin exposes the skin to higher risk when using Glide™.
Using Glide™ on skin that has been recently exposed to sunlight can result in adverse eects such as burns,
blisters, and skin color changes (hyper- or hypo-pigmentation).
The Glide™ device is not eective on naturally white, grey, blond and red body hair. If your body hair is of
these colors, Glide™ will not work on you.
Hair removal by lasers or intense pulse light sources can cause increased hair growth in some individuals.
Based upon currently available data, the highest risk groups for this response are females of Mediterranean,
Middle Eastern and South Asian heritage treated on the face and neck.
DO NOT USE Glide™ on tanned skin or after recent sun exposure! Such use
can cause burns or skin injury.
Avoid exposure to the sun for 4 weeks before your Glide™ treatment!
DO NOT USE Glide™ on tanned skin or after recent sun exposure!
DO NOT USE Glide™ on naturally dark skin!
Not Safe! Safe to use

4. When to avoid using Glide™?
Certain conditions may prevent the use of Glide™ temporarily. DO NOT USE Glide™ if any of the follow-
ing currently apply to you:
If you are pregnant or nursing (lactating).
If you were exposed to strong sunlight or an artificial tanning machine during the past 4 weeks.
If you have a tattoo or permanent makeup on the area to be treated.
If you have dark brown or black spots, such as large freckles, birth marks, moles or warts on the area to
be treated.
If you have eczema, psoriasis, lesions, open wounds or active infections, such as cold sores in the area to
be treated. Wait for the aected area to heal before using Glide™.

5. Precautions – How to use Glide™ Safely
Choose your energy levels CAREFULLY!
Energy level refers to the intensity of the light pulse that is projected on your skin during use, from the
lowest level to the highest level. Indicator lights on the control pad illustrate the energy level at which the
machine is set. As the energy level increases, so do the results of Glide as well as the risk of side eects
(see section 7-“Risks of Using Glide”).
Always begin your first use of Glide™ at the lowest energy setting!
Only if you experience little or no discomfort during and after use of Glide™ at the lowest energy
setting, raise the energy level by one indicator light the next time you use Glide™, and so on for each
subsequent hair removal session.
For detailed instructions on energy level setting, see “Energy Level” box in section 9.2 - “Treating with
Glide™ for the first time”.
Avoid adverse eects!
Do not treat the same area of skin more than once per hair removal session!
Try to avoid overlapping pulses!
If your skin blisters or burns, STOP USE IMMEDIATELY!
Avoid complications after use of Glide™!
Do not expose treated areas of skin to the sun!
Sun exposure includes constant unprotected exposure to direct sunlight for over 15 minutes, or constant
unprotected exposure to diuse sunlight for over 1 hour.
To protect recently treated skin when exposed to sunlight, be sure to thoroughly apply sunscreen SPF 30
or higher, for 2 weeks after each hair removal session.
Always shave the area to be treated and make sure that the skin is clean and dry before using Glide™.
Cover birthmarks and tattoos before Glide™ application.
Cover dark brown or black spots, such as large freckles, birth marks, moles or warts before Glide™
application.
Never look directly at the light coming from the Glide™ treatment surface.
Do not use Glide™ on nipples and genitals (male or female).
Do not use Glide™ on any body site where you might later want hair.
Do not use Glide™ for any purpose other than hair removal.
Never point the Glide™ treatment surface in an attempt to emit a light pulse into open space. Always
make sure that the surface is pointed at, and in full contact with the skin during application.
7
English
Remove the Glide™ treatment surface from the skin if either the skin or the surface is too hot.
Never use flammable liquids such as alcohol (including perfumes, sanitizers, or other applications contain-
ing alcohol) or acetone to clean the skin before using Glide™.
Use of Glide™ may cause temporary pigmentation changes (See section 7 -“Risks of Using Glide”).
Keep this device out of the reach of children. Do not use Glide™ on children or allow children to use it.

Minor Skin Discomfort
Although home pulsed light hair removal is generally very well-tolerated, most users do feel some mild
discomfort during use, usually described as being a mild stinging sensation on the treated skin areas. The
stinging sensation usually lasts during the application itself or for a few minutes thereafter. Anything beyond this
minor discomfort is abnormal and means that either you should not continue to use Glide™ because you are
unable to tolerate the hair removal application, or that the energy level setting is too high.
Skin Redness
Your skin may become red right after using Glide™ or within 24 hours of using Glide™. Redness
generally clears up within 24 hours. See your doctor if redness does not go away within 2 to 3 days.
Increased Sensitivity of the Skin
The skin of the treated area is more sensitive so you may encounter dryness or flaking of the skin.
Skin Wounds and Burns
Very rarely, burns or wounds to the skin can occur following the application. The burn or wound can
require a few weeks to heal and, extremely rarely, may leave a noticeable scar.
Scarring
Although very rare, scarring may occur. Usually when scarring occurs, it is in the form of a flat and white
lesion on the skin (hypotrophic). However, it can be large and red (hypertrophic) or large and extend
beyond the margins of the injury itself (keloid). Subsequent aesthetic treatments may be required to
improve the appearance of the scar.
Pigment Changes
Glide™ targets the hair shaft, in particular the pigmented cells in the hair follicle and the hair follicle itself.
Nevertheless, there is risk of temporary hyperpigmentation (increased pigment or brown discoloration)
or hypopigmentation (whitening) to the surrounding skin. This risk of changes in skin pigmentation is
higher for people with darker skin tones.
10
English
A typical full hair growth cycle may take 18-24 months. During this time multiple Glide™ sessions may be
required in order to achieve permanent hair removal.
The eciency of hair removal varies from person to person according to body area, hair color, and how
Silk’n Glide™ is used.
Typical Silk’n Glide™ hair removal plan during a full hair growth cycle:
Treatments 1-4 – plan two weeks apart
Treatments 5-7 – plan four weeks apart
Treatments 8 + – treat as needed, until desired results are achieved.

Usually discoloration or changes to skin pigment are temporary and hyperpigmentation or
hypopigmentation rarely occur.
Excessive Redness and Swelling
In rare cases, treated skin may become very red and swollen. This is more common in sensitive areas of
the body. The redness and swelling should subside within 2 to 7 days and should be treated with frequent
applications of ice. Gentle cleansing is OK, but one should avoid exposure to sun.
Infection
Infection of the skin is exceedingly rare but is still a possible risk following a skin burn or wound caused
by Glide™.
Bruising
Very rarely, use of Glide™ may cause blue-purple bruising that can last 5 to 10 days. As the bruising
fades, there may be a rust-brown discoloration of the skin (hyperpigmentation).
Expected Treatment Outcome for Hair Removal
11
English
1. Individual response depends on hair type as well as biological factors that may aect hair growth patterns. Some users may respond quicker or slower
than the average number of treatments.
2. One cannot expect permanent epilation in a single or even double treatment sessions. The duration of the resting period for hair follicles also
depends on the body area.
9. How To Use Glide™
9.1. Glide™ Setup
1. Remove the Glide™ hair removal device, and other components from box.
2. Plug the power cord into the Glide™ Device socket.
3. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.
4. All six LED lights will blink on and o, one after the other, in a circle.
Your Glide™ is now ready to start.
9.2. Treating with Glide™ for the first time
1. The skin should be shaved, clean, dry and free of any powders, antiperspirants or deodorants.
2. Press the central button briefly. The Energy level 1 led will turn on.
About 1 second later, the Ready Indicator Light will turn on. The device is now set to deliver the lowest energy
level pulses. The device is ready for you to trigger the first pulse.
3. If you wish to change the energy level, press the CENTRAL BUTTON quickly and repeatedly to increase the
energy level from 1 to 5 and from 5 directly back to 1, cyclically, until the desired energy level is set. The Energy
Level indicator Lights will indicate the energy level setting. (See “Energy Level” frame).
Energy Level
Energy level determines the intensity of the Glide™ light pulse delivered to your skin, from the lowest
level (1) to the highest level (5). Corresponding indicator lights on the control panel represent the
increases in energy. As energy level increases, so do hair removal results as well as the risk of possible
side eects and complications.
Always start your first Glide™ hair removal session at the lowest energy setting.
If you experience little or no discomfort during and after the hair removal session using the lowest energy
level, raise the energy level by one indicator light at the next session, and so on for each subsequent session.
Do not raise the energy level if you experience abnormal discomfort during or after
treating with Glide™ (See section 7 - “Risks of Using Glide”).
Do not raise the energy level during a hair removal session even if you experience no
discomfort. Discomfort may also appear sometime after the session.
12
English
Whenever Glide™ is turned on; its energy level will automatically be reset to the lowest energy level. Only
one Energy Level indicator Light will be on.
To set the energy level, press the central Button repeatedly to increase the energy level. After reaching level
5, an additional press will bring the level back down to Level 1, and so on, cyclically. The number of Energy
Level indicator Lights will coincide with the change in energy level.
4. Apply the TREATMENT SURFACE to the skin, making sure the skin is spread evenly and smoothly and
the TREATMENT SURFACE is in full contact with the skin. Make sure the Ready Indicator Light starts
blinking slowly.
5. Press the Pulse Trigger. The device will first determine the color of your skin.
If the color of the skin is light enough for safe application, the device will flash a pulse of light onto your
skin. You will see a bright flash of light and simultaneously hear a subtle pop sound, which is a normal noise
for the device. You may feel a mild sensation of warmth and tingling.
Glide™ will immediately recharge for the next pulse. After a few seconds (depending on the set energy
level) the Ready Indicator Light will turn on again and start blinking.
If you see no light pulse, and the Ready Indicator Light blinks rapidly, this is now the SKIN COLOR
WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT alerting that your skin tone is too dark for safe application. Try using the
device on a dierent body part or contact Silk’n support.
6. Move the TREATMENT SURFACE to another area of skin.
Administer one pulse at a time at your chosen energy level. Use the pressure marks the device just made in
your skin to guide you for proper positioning of the next pulse, avoiding both gaps and overlaps between pulses.
Glide can be applied in two ways: “Pulsing” and “Gliding.
7. Repeat the process starting again with Step 5.
PULSING
When Pulsing, administer one pulse at a time at your chosen energy level. Use
the pressure marks the device just made in your skin to guide you for proper
positioning of the next pulse, avoiding both gaps and overlaps between pulses.
Covering skin areas
Glide™ treatment should be administered in rows, starting at one end of each
row and progressing sequentially towards the other end. This technique allows
better control of skin coverage, and helps you avoid treating the same area
more than once or overlapping skin areas. Ideal body areas for Glide™ use
include the underarms, bikini line, arms and legs.
13
English
If your skin blisters or burns, STOP USE IMMEDIATELY!
9.3. What to Expect when treating with Glide™?
For many people, using Glide™ may be their first experience with a light-based device designed for home
use. Glide™ is simple to use, and hair removal sessions go by quickly. During a Glide™ session it is normal
to experience and feel:
A Flash of Light – The bright light of Glide™ will not harm the eyes when applied to non-facial sites, and
special eye-protection is not needed when using Glide™.
A Fan Noise – The cooling fan in Glide™ sounds similar to a hairdryer. This is normal.
A Pop Sound with Each Pulse – When a pulse of HPL™ light is activated, it is normal to hear a subtle pop
sound simultaneously with the flash of light.
Moderate Pressure of the Treatment area – This is necessary and helpful for placement of adjacent pulses
of light, and is part of the unique safety features of Glide™.
A Sensation of Warmth and Tingling – During each pulse of light, it is normal to feel a mild sensation of
warmth and tingling from the light energy. Remember it is important to always use low energy settings
for initial hair removal sessions. You may feel some warmth for up to an hour after your Glide™ session.
Some Mild Red or Pink Color – During and just after your Glide™ session it is not uncommon to see some
very mild, pink-like color of the skin. This is usually most noticeable around the hairs themselves. However
if you see full redness of the skin, blistering or burns, stop use of Glide™ immediately.
GLIDING
Alternatively, if you choose the Gliding method, hold the PULSE TRIGGER down continuously, and
slide the device smoothly along the treated area. Please note that this method is best applied when
working with low energy pulses. This way, the device takes only 1-1.5 seconds to recharge between
pulses and provides a nonstop sequence of flashes.
In both methods of treatment you are cautioned not to treat the same area of skin more than once
per hair removal session! Treating the same area of skin more than once per session increases the
likelihood of adverse eects.
Gliding should be applied while holding the PULSE TRIGGER down continuously, and using a light
sliding motion, smoothly moving the device along the treated area. The treatment is then
administered quickly and more eciently. Even though Gliding is usually done using low energy
pulses for fast recharge, it is still essential to control skin coverage and avoid double treatments.
When applied to the skin, the Glide™ TREATMENT SURFACE is designed to create temporary
pressure marks on the treated area. These visible marks can be used for proper positioning of the
device for treatment sessions.
14
English
Skin care following hair removal session
Do not expose the treated areas of skin to the sun. Be sure to carefully protect the
treated skin with sunscreen, throughout the hair removal period and for at least 2 weeks
following the last Glide™ session.
Side eects and complications
Some patients may experience pigmentation changes resulting from treating with Glide™. These eects, if
they occur, are generally mild and transient.
9.4. After treating with Glide™
When a Glide™ session has been completed, turn Glide™ with an extended press of the CENTRAL
BUTTON. Be sure to remember the last energy level setting you used, as it will not be restored when
turning Glide™ on again.
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
After each hair removal session, it is recommended that you clean your Glide™ device, especially the Treatment
surface (See section 10.1: “Cleaning Glide™”).
After cleaning, it is recommended you store your Glide™ device in its original box, and keep it away from water
If you experience any complication (See section 7 – “Risks of using Glide™”)
please contact your physician immediately.
10. Glide™ Maintenance
10.1. Cleaning Glide™
After each hair removal session, it is recommended that you clean your Glide™ device, and especially the
treatment surface.
Unplug Glide™ before cleaning.
Use a dry, clean cloth and a specially formulated cleaner for electronic equipment to gently wipe the Glide™
outer shell, and especially the treatment surface.
Never immerse Glide™ or any of its parts in water!
This device is to be orderly disposed of when reaching End of Life stage. In this way the devices valuable
materials are recycled and the environmental burden avoided.
Deliver your old equipment to the nearest electronic waste collection point for safe and ecient disposal.

11. Troubleshooting
11.1. “My Glide™ does not start.
Make sure the power cord is properly connected to the Glide™ device.
Make sure the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet on the wall.
11.2. A light pulse is not emitted when I press the PULSE TRIGGER”
Make sure the Ready Indicator is blinking.
Make sure you have good contact with the skin and that the treatment surface is evenly and firmly pressed to
the skin. For your safety, the Pulse trigger will activate a pulse only if the treatment surface is firmly pressed
against the skin.
Check the Indicator Light. If it blinks slowly, the Skin Color sensor has stopped the light pulse; the skin color
window was not properly covered by the skin or your skin may be too dark for you to use Glide™. Try to
apply Glide™ again on a dierent part of your body.
If the Ready light is o, together with any number of blinking Energy Level light indicators, you have a system
error. If this problem persists, contact your local Glide™ Customer Service Center.
If these problems persist, contact your local Glide™ Customer Service Center.
Check if the System Warning Indicator Light is on, and all other lights are blinking. If so, unplug the device
from its power source. The device has reached its End of Life stage. Please refer to section 10 – “Glide™
Maintenance” for further instructions on how to safely dispose of the device.
Do not attempt to open or repair your Glide™ device. Only authorized Glide™ repair
centers are permitted to perform repairs.
Opening Glide™ may expose you to dangerous electrical components and to pulsed light energy, either of
which may cause bodily damage and/or eye injury.
Trying to open Glide™ may also damage the device and will void your warranty.
Please contact Glide™ Customer Service if you have a broken or damaged device in need of repair.

2. Utilisation prévue de votre appareil Silk’n Glide™
3. Contre-indications
