➤ Schließen Sie das Frischwassersystem (Abb. 5 14, Seite 5) an ein
Sicherheitsventil oder den Kaltwassereinlass (Abb. 5 8, Seite 5, blauer
Gummiring) an.
➤ Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Ventil korrekt montiert ist:
Der Pfeil weist zum blauen Gummiring.

Hinweis
Das Ventil hat vier Funktionen:
– Anschluss für Kaltwassereinlass
– Rücklaufventil, um zu verhindern, dass Warmwasser in den
Frischwassertank eindringt
– Sicherheitsventil gegen Überdruck im Warmwasserbereiter
– Entleerungsventil
Wir empfehlen die Installation eines Kugelventils, damit der Warmwasser-
bereiter bei Wartungsarbeiten gegen das übrige System abgesperrt werden
kann.
➤ Installieren Sie das Kugelventil (Abb. 5 12, Seite 5) zwischen Frisch-
wassersystem und Sicherheitsventil am Warmwasserbereiter.
➤ Schließen Sie den Warmwasseranschluss des Warmwasserbereiters
(Abb. 5 4, Seite 5, roter Gummiring) an den Mischer (Abb. 5 2,
Seite 5) an.
Verwenden Sie eine Verbindung (Rohr oder Schlauch), die für den
resultierenden Druck (max. 7 kg/cm²) und die resultierende Temperatur
(max. 120 °C) geeignet ist.

Achtung!
Nach Montage des Warmwasserbereiters und vor dem Elektroan-
schluss öffnen Sie die Warmwasserhähne (Abb. 5 1, Seite 5) und
starten Sie die Pumpe (Abb. 5 13, Seite 5) des Wassersystems.
Lassen Sie einige Minuten lang das Wasser laufen, damit sämtli-
che Luft aus dem System entfernt wird, so dass die Heizpatrone
des Warmwasserbereiters völlig von Wasser umschlossen ist.
Sonst besteht die Gefahr, dass die Heizpatrone beim Anlegen der
Spannung durchbrennt.
➤ Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Anschlüsse dicht sind.

Achtung!
Vor Entfernen der Kunststoffabdeckung stets Netzstecker ziehen!
Für Reparaturen wenden Sie sich an einen Servicetechniker.
➤ Kontrollieren Sie regelmäßig die Elektroanschlüsse.
➤ Kontrollieren Sie regelmäßig die Dichtigkeit aller Wasseranschlüsse.
➤ Tauschen Sie bei Anzeichen von Korrosion alle Schrauben, Bolzen und
Halterungen sofort aus.
12 Fehler suchen
Der Motor erwärmt das Wasser nicht.
➤ Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich keine Luft in der Motorschleife des
Warmwasserbereiters befindet.
Falls sich dort Luft befindet, öffnen Sie den Luftnippel (falls montiert)
oder die Anschlüsse am Warmwasserbereiter (roter Gummiring) und
lassen Sie die Luft ab.
➤ Kontrollieren Sie, ob die Temperatur des Motor-Kühlwassers 50 °C über-
steigt.
➤ Kontrollieren Sie, ob das Wasser zirkuliert.
➤ Kontrollieren Sie, ob die Anschlüsse an den Hähnen dicht sind.

13 Gewährleistung
Es gelten unsere allgemeinen Gewährleistungsbedingungen. Sollte das
Produkt defekt sein, schicken Sie es bitte an die WAECO-Niederlassung in
Ihrem Land (Adressen siehe Rückseite der Anleitung) oder an Ihren Fach-
händler. Zur Reparatur- bzw. Gewährleistungsbearbeitung müssen Sie fol-
gende Unterlagen mitschicken:
z eine Kopie der Rechnung mit Kaufdatum,
z einen Reklamationsgrund oder eine Fehlerbeschreibung.
14 Entsorgung
➤ Geben Sie das Verpackungsmaterial möglichst in den entsprechenden
Recycling-Müll.
Wenn Sie das Gerät endgültig außer Betrieb nehmen, informieren
Sie sich bitte beim nächsten Recyclingcenter oder bei Ihrem Fach-
händler über die zutreffenden Entsorgungsvorschriften.

4 Accessories
Special stainless brackets are available as accessories:
z Water heaters up to 297 mm in height: MWH-022 (item no. 15.125)
z Water heaters up to 358 mm in height: MWH-020/30/40/60 (item
no. 15.126)
5 Intended use
The water heater is for heating fresh water in enclosed, frost-free rooms, for
example on boats or in caravans.
6 Technical description
Mobitherm water heaters are made of materials designed to withstand the
harsh conditions at sea. As well as on boats, they are suitable for all mobile
applications, such as for fitting in caravans.
The water heater heats fresh water from a tank and supplies it to a tap or a
shower. It has two heating circuits for this: the water can be electrically
heated, or alternatively, the waste heat of the engine cooling system can be
used. Because of its greater efficiency, always use the electric connection if
there is an electric power source available.
The water heater is available with tanks in four different sizes: 20, 22, 30, 40
and 60 litres.

8.1 Connecting to fresh water

Caution
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when connecting the
water heater to an engine cooling system. After connecting the wa-
ter heater, make sure the the temperature of the engine cooling wa-
ter does not rise excessively.
The basic circuit diagram can be found in fig. 5, page 5.

Note
We recommend fitting the drain cock at the lowest point in the water
system, so that it can be easily drained for cleaning, servicing and
if there is a danger of freezing.

Use thread seal tape or adhesive for all connections.

➤ Connect the fresh water system (fig. 5 14, page 5) to a safety valve or
the cold water intake (fig. 5 8, page 5, blue rubber ring).
➤ Make sure the valve is correctly fitted: the arrow must point towards the
blue rubber ring.

Note
The valve has four functions:
– Cold water intake connection
– Check valve to prevent hot water entering the fresh water
– Safety valve to prevent excess pressure in the water heater
– Drain valve
We recommend installing a ball valve, so that the water heater can be cut off
from the rest of the system during maintenance.
➤ Install the ball valve (fig. 5 12, page 5) between the fresh water system
and the safety valve on the water heater.
➤ Connect the hot water connection of the water heater (fig. 5 4, page 5,
red rubber ring) to the mixer (fig. 5 2, page 5).
Use a connection (a pipe or hose) which is suitable for the resulting
pressure (max. 7 kg/cm²) and temperature (max. 120 °C).

Caution
After mounting the water heater and before making the electrical
connections, open the hot water taps (fig. 5 1, page 5) and start
the pump (fig. 5 13, page 5) of the water system.
Let the water run for a few minutes to allow all air to escape from
the system, so that the heating cartridge of the water heater is com-
pletely surrounded by water. Otherwise there is a risk of the heating
cartridge blowing when the power is switched on.
➤ Make sure all connections are tight.
➤ Attach a hose (fig. 5 9, page 5) to the safety valve and make sure that
excess water drains off to the keelson or somewhere else where water
and steam cannot cause injury or damage.
Pay particular care to the electrical equipment.
➤ Again make sure that the cold water and hot water connections are fitted
correctly, and not to the heat exchanger, which is marked with an engine
symbol.

Caution
Always drain the water heater if there is a risk of freezing.
The water heater will be permanently damaged if water freezes in
it.
➤ Make sure the power is off, so that the heating cartridge cannot be
activated when the water heater is empty.
➤ Connect the water supply to the water heater.
➤ Open the pressure/drain valve by lifting the valve lever.
The water must drain directly into the keelson or another suitable place.
➤ Release the pressure control valve (if fitted) or open the hot water
connection (fig. 5 8, page 5, red rubber ring).
➤ Drain the water heater completely.
11 Servicing the water heater

Caution
Always take out the power plug before taking off the plastic cover.
Call in a service engineer for repairs.
➤ Regularly check the electrical connections.
➤ Regularly check that all water connections are tight.
➤ Replace any corroded screws, bolts and brackets immediately.

The safety valve leaks water.

Note
If the leaking water is no more than 0.2 – 0.3 litres per heating cycle
and only happens when the water heater is in operation, then no
action is necessary.
➤ Make sure the valve and connection are tight.
➤ If there is constant leakage, check there are no objects or particles stuck
in the valve.
Otherwise, replace the valve.
The automatic fuse blows during operation.
➤ Check the electric cables and the thermostat connection.
➤ Make sure the heating cartridge is earthed.

Caution
Always call a specialist to inspect faults in the electrical system and
to replace the thermostat and heating cartridge.

return it to the WAECO branch in your country (see the back of the instruction
manual for the addresses) or to your dealer. For repair and guarantee
processing, please include the following documents when you send in the
appliance:

➤ If possible, always take the packaging material for recycling.
If you wish to finally dispose of the appliance, ask your local
recycling centre or specialist dealer for details about how to do this
in keeping with the applicable regulations.

– des erreurs de montage ;
– des influences mécaniques et des surtensions ayant
endommagé le matériel ;
– des modifications apportées à l'appareil sans autorisation
explicite de la part de WAECO International ;
– une utilisation différente de celle décrite dans la notice.

z Utilisez l'appareil conformément à l'usage pour lequel il a été
conçu.
z Seul un personnel qualifié et parfaitement informé des dangers
et règlements spécifiques à ces manipulations est habilité à
effectuer les réparations et l'entretien.
z Les appareils électriques ne sont pas des jouets pour
enfants !
Les enfants ne sont pas en mesure d'évaluer les dangers
potentiels émanant des appareils électriques. Ne laissez pas
les enfants utiliser des appareils électriques sans surveillance.
z Vidangez systèmatiquement l'appareil si un risque de gel se
présente.
Les dommages seront irréversibles si de l'eau gèle à l'intérieur.
z Tous nos chauffe-eaux sont isolés avec de la mousse de
polyuréthane autoextinguible. Etant donné que ce matériau
dégage à une température de 500 °C de faibles quantités de
gaz toxiques, tous les travaux consistant à souder, couper,
percer, etc. devront être effectués dans des pièces bien aérées.

z Débranchez toujours la prise secteur du chauffe-eau avant de
retirer le couvercle plastique de ce dernier.
z Respectez sans exception les normes et réglementations en
vigueur pour tout ce qui concerne l'électricité et les
raccordements.

z Seul un spécialiste agréé est habilité à procéder à des
installations électriques relatives au courant domestique. En
cas de panne du thermostat ou de la cartouche chauffante, le
plus simple consiste à démonter le chauffe-eau pour l'envoyer
à un service de réparation.

6 Description technique
Les chauffe-eaux Mobithern ont été construits avec des matériaux conçus
pour les conditions difficiles de la mer. Ils sont donc appropriés aux bateaux
mais aussi à toutes les applications mobiles comme les camping-cars.
Le chauffe-eau réchauffe l'eau provenant d'un réservoir d'eau douce et
l'amène à un robinet ou une douche. Il dispose pour cela de deux circuits de
chauffage, un électrique et un « alternatif » : la source de chaleur que
représente l'échappement du système de refroidissement du moteur. En
raison de son rendement supérieur, nous recommandons la solution
électrique si une source de tension est disponible.
Le chauffe-eau est disponible en cinq tailles de ballon : 20, 22, 30, 40 et 60
litres.
