ADAPTER PLUGS
In some countries you may encounter a
recessed outlet or other types of wall outlets
that the pins on the Travel Smart
®
by Conair
converter do not fit. The set of four adapter
plugs included with this converter will adapt
to most electrical outlets worldwide. If
only using the adapter plugs, be sure your
appliance’s dual voltage selector switch, when
provided, is in the correct voltage position
before operating.

MID WATT SETTING
For hair straighteners and stylers, from 26 to
450 watts.
HI WATT SETTING
For clothes irons, steamers, some hair dryers,
etc., from 451 to 1875 watts. The high
setting is designed to be used only for short
periods of time (approximately 30 minutes).
A. SELECT PROPER WATT SETTING
Check appliance’s rating plate for wattage.
If wattage is not indicated, simply multiply
voltage by amps, e.g., 120V x 3 amps =
360 watts. Then set selector switch to the
appropriate setting.

Before using the adapter/converter,
check the product you intend to use for the
manufacturer’s voltage and/or wattage rating,
which should be located on the product.
CAUTION: Adapter plugs alone do
not convert voltage. To avoid damaging
your appliance, do not use without a
voltage converter.
Do not leave converter in the wall outlet
when not in use. Please do not continue to
use the adapter/converter combo if it is not
working properly, if it has been damaged, or
dropped in water.
Some appliances may operate a little more
slowly when used in foreign countries
operating on 50 cycles (U.S. operates on
60 cycles).
At times there may be a very low humming
sound in the converter, appliance, or both.
This is normal.
Due to unstable voltage in most foreign
countries, if your appliance has a built-in
thermostat, it may shut off your appliance
prematurely. This does not mean your
appliance or converter (or both) are not
working properly. After your appliance cools
down it should resume operating properly.

FOR USE
WORLD’S FIRST – NEW TECHNOLOGY
The first converter that works with high-end
styling tools. Conventional converters were
originally designed for use with electrical
appliances such as hair dryers. Many
high-performance styling tools, including
hair straighteners, were not compatible
because they operate with more advanced
electronics. This unit is designed to work
with high-end styling appliances (e.g.,
straighteners, curling irons and hair dryers)
as well as regular styling appliances.
Appliances that operate on 110/120V will
not work in most parts of the world where
the voltage is 220/240V. Your Travel Smart
®
by Conair converter makes it possible to use
your portable appliances almost anywhere
in the world. You simply set the LOW/
MID/HI switch, plug the converter into the
wall outlet, plug your appliance into the
converter, and turn on your appliance.
All appliances have a wattage rating
marked on them – it should be checked
before using.
LOW WATT SETTING
For use with battery chargers, electric
shavers, radios, curling irons, etc., that are
less than 25 watts. The low setting can be
used for long periods of time on products
with electronic circuitry that is rated 0 to 25
watts, e.g., battery chargers, radios, etc.
LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY
(U.S. AND CANADA ONLY)
Conair will repair or replace (at our option)
your unit free of charge for 12 months from
the date of purchase if the appliance is
defective in workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return
the defective product to the service center
listed on back, together with your purchase
receipt and $5.00 for postage and handling.
California residents need only provide proof
of purchase and should call 1-800-3-CONAIR
for shipping instructions. In the absence of a
purchase receipt, the warranty period shall be
12 months from the date of manufacture.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS,
OR LIABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED
IN DURATION TO THE 12-MONTH DURATION
OF THIS WRITTEN, LIMITED WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow limitations on how
long an implied warranty lasts, so the above
limitations may not apply to you.

laquelle les fiches ne s'insèrent pas, il vous
faudra utiliser un adaptateur de voyage
approprié. Les quatre adaptateurs de voyage
fournis avec votre convertisseur de tension
vous permettront d'utiliser ce-dernier dans
la plupart des pays. Remarque au sujet
des appareils bitension(avec lesquels vous
n'aurez besoin que des adaptateurs de
voyage): veiller à ce que le sélecteur de
tension soit sur la bonne position avant
de brancher l'appareil dans une prise de
courant.
APPAREILS À BASSE PUISSANCE
Régler l’interrupteur de puissance sur
“LOW” pour utilisation avec des appareils
de 25 watts ou moins, comme les chargeurs
de pile, les rasoirs électriques, les radios,
certains fers à friser, etc. Le réglage “LOW”
peut être utilisé pendant de longues

AVERTISSEMENT

Vérifier la puissance de l'appareil, indiquée
sur celui-ci, avant d’utiliser le convertisseur
de tension ou les adaptateurs de voyage.
ATTENTION: les adaptateurs de voyage
ne convertissent pas la puissance. Afin
éviter d'endommager votre appareil, ne
pas utiliser les adaptateurs de voyage
sans convertisseur de tension, à moins
que votre appareil ne soit bitension.
Débrancher le convertisseur lorsque
vous ne l’utilisez pas. Ne pas utiliser
le convertisseur s’il ne fonctionne pas
correctement, s’il est abîmé ou s’il est tombé
dans l’eau.
Le courant aux États-Unis est de 60 cycles/
seconde (60Hz). Dans de nombreuses
autres régions du monde, il est de 50 cycles/
seconde (50Hz). Il se peut donc que vos
appareils de 110/120 V fonctionnent plus
lentement à l’étranger.
Il se peut que le convertisseur et/
ou l’appareil émettent un léger
bourdonnement; cela est normal.
Si votre appareil est équipé d’un thermostat,
une fluctuation électrique notable peut
l’éteindre subitement. Cela ne traduit pas
un mauvais fonctionnement de l'appareil
ou du convertisseur. Si cela se produisait,
débrancher l’appareil et le laisser refroidir
pendant quelques minutes.

convertisseurs de puissance conventionnels
sont conçus pour s’utiliser avec des appareils
tels que les sèche-cheveux. Ils ne sont pas
compatibles avec les appareils de coiffure
haut de gamme comme les fers à lisser, qui
utilisent des composants électroniques plus
avancés. Ce convertisseur de puissance est
conçu pour fonctionner aussi bien avec les
appareils de coiffure haut de gamme (fers
à lisser, fers à friser et séchoirs) qu’avec les
appareils ordinaires.
La plupart des appareils vendus aux États-
Unis et au Canada fonctionnent sur une
puissance de 110/120 V. Ils ne fonctionneront
pas dans les pays où le courant est de

d’utiliser les appareils de 110/120 V partout
dans le monde. Il suffit simplement de
régler l’interrupteur de puissance sur LOW,
MID ou HI, selon la puissance nominale

dans une prise de courant et de connecter
l’appareil au convertisseur.
La puissance nominale de chaque appareil
est généralement indiquée sur sa fiche
signalétique.
