Listening Caution Precautions
Do not play your headphones or earphones at a high
volume. Hearing experts advise against continuous
extended play.
If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce vol-
ume or discontinue use.
You should use extreme caution or temporarily dis-
continue use in potentially hazardous situations.
Even if your headphones or earphones is an open-air
type designed to let you hear outside sounds, don’t
turn up the volume so high that you can’t hear
what’s around you.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing
“comfort level” adapts to higher volumes of sound.
So what sounds “normal” can actually be loud and
harmful to your hearing.
Guard against this by setting your equipment at a
safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
To establish a safe level:
Start your volume control at a low setting.
Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it
comfortably and clearly, and without distortion.
Once you have established a comfortable sound
level:
Set the dial and leave it there.
When Parked
Parking in direct sunlight can produce very high
temperatures inside your car. Give the interior a
chance to cool down before switching the unit on.
Do not watch the monitor with the engine off. It
will consume battery power and may prevent the
engine from starting.
Use the Proper Power Supply
This product is designed to operate with a 12 V,
negative ground battery system (the normal sys-
tem in a North American car).
Use Authorized Servicenters
Do not attempt to disassemble or adjust this pre-
cision product. Please refer to the Servicenter list
included with this product for service assistance.
When Operating
Be sure not to let the unit fall or be strongly
impacted since this may cause a malfunction or
fire.
Caution children to avoid hanging the monitor.
The driver should not attempt to operate the dis-
play unit.
To operate this unit, do not take hold of display
unit by any of its corners.
Take care not to bump your head against this unit
when opening or closing the display unit or when
getting up in the back seat.
When not using the unit
Be sure to switch the unit to off when closing the
display.
Lock the monitor in the fully closed position.
Vibration of the car or some other factor may
cause this unit to malfunction unless the display
unit is locked.
If the display unit cannot be locked, be absolutely
sure to consult your dealer and remedy the situa-
tion.

off.

is not intended for non-technical individuals.
Be sure to install the monitor in a position that
does not obstruct the driver’s vision.
If the monitor has been installed for the rear
seat passengers, they must be careful to prevent
injury by hitting their heads on the monitor in
case of an accident.
Do not install the unit in an area where it would
obstruct the operation of an air bag.
Ask a trained technician to install the unit.

Cautions for the Liquid Crystal
Panel
Do not leave the liquid crystal panel surface facing
upwards.
Storage temperature range: j4 xF to 176 xF
(j20 xC to 80 xC)
When the liquid crystal panel reaches high tem-
peratures or low temperatures, chemical changes
occur within the liquid crystal panel which may
cause malfunctions.
Do not strongly impact the liquid crystal panel.
When the temperature is very cold or very hot, the
image may not appear clearly or may move slow-
ly. Also, movement of the image may seem to be
out of synchronization or the image quality may
decline in such environments. Note that this is not
a malfunction or problem.
Usage temperature range: 32 xF to 104 xF
(0 xC to 40 xC)
There may be red spots, blue spots and green
spots on the panel surface. This is a characteristic
of liquid crystal panels and is not a problem. The
liquid crystal panel is built with very high precision
technology and has at least 99.99 % effective
image pixels. Be aware that on 0.01 % of the panel
there may be missing pixels or constantly light
pixels.
