Gas Conversion Instruction
In Massachuses: All gas products must be installed using a “Massachuses” licensed plumber
or gas er. A “T” handle type manual gas valve must be installed in the gas supply line to this
appliance. This applies to permanently installed natural gas and propane installaons. This
does not apply to propane portable installaons using a 20 pound tank.

GAS CONVERSION KIT FROM NG TO LP (PROPANE), P/N CKLP-TEBQ54
FOR MODELS: TWIN EAGLES GRILLS, TEBQ54
1. All gas connecons/conversions should be made by a qualied technician and in
accordance with local codes and ordinances.
2. Before conducng a conversion to a gas appliance, verify that the main gas is shut
o and disconnected from the appliance.
3. Ensure that you have the LP Gas Conversion Kit , as follows:
A. P/N 15110-53, Orice #53, LP, Grill Burner (4 pcs.)
B. P/N 15108-57, Orice #57, Ros (2 pc.)
C. P/N 15302, LP Regulator with 24” Hose (1 pc.)
D. P/N 12602, Coupling, 3/8 M are X ½ FIP (1 pc.)
E. P/N 18351, Label, Conversion Gas (1 pc.)
4. Replace burner valve orices.
A. Grill Burner:
a. Remove cooking grates
b. Remove briquee trays
c. Remove grill burners
d. Remove grill burner orices, #41 drill size
e. Replace grill burner orices with #53 drill size
f. Adjust the burner shuer for the appropriate gas type. (An “L” and an “N” are
stamped on the air shuer to indicate the appropriate gas type.)
g. Install back the burners, briquee trays & cooking grates. WARNING! IT IS
CRITICAL THAT THE GAS BURNERS ARE PROPERLY INSTALLED WITH THEIR
ORIFICES INSIDE THE BURNERS AIR SHUTTERS. If not properly installed,
gas may leak outside of the burner that could lead to re, potenal
damage to your grill and bodily injury.
B. Infrared Rosserie Burner
a. Remove rear hood cover to expose infrared burner gas orice
b. Remove ros burner orice #50.
c. Replace ros burner orice with #57.
d. Replace rear hood cover.
5. Replace the NG regulator with the factory supplied LP regulator.
A. Disconnect regulator from grill
B. Install the brass coupling ½ female pipe x 3/8 male are
C. Install the factory-supplied regulator and hose assembly. Connect the 3/8”
are end of the hose to the grill coupling using a ¾” open wrench. Do not
apply pipe sealant to the 3/8” are connecon. Connect the regulator to the
LP cylinder hand ghten it, do not use a wrench.
D. Check for gas leaks using soapy water soluon.
6. NEVER USE THE GRILL WITHOUT FIRST LEAK TESTING THE GAS CONNECTION.
A. Prepare a leak tesng soluon of sudsy water by mixing in a spray bole with
half liquid soap and half water.
B. Conrm that all control knobs are in the “OFF” posion.
C. Turn the main gas valve supply “ON”.
D. Apply leak tesng soluon by spraying on the pipe joints, ngs, and hose.
E. A gas leak is detected if;
a. there is a faint gas smell and/or
b. growing bubbles appear on any of the connecon points and/or hose. DO
NOT aempt to ignite the grill and IMMEDIATELY turn o the gas supply
valve.
F. When there is a gas leak, call a qualied service technician. DO NOT use the
grill unl the leak is corrected.
7. Calibrate burner low ame seng
A. The grill must be hooked up to the gas supply in order to calibrate burner.
B. Turn on burner and set to low. At low seng, all ports of the burner must
remain lit. If the ames are too high or too low, calibrate burner valve.
C. To calibrate burner valve, pull o valve knob. Insert a skinny at screwdriver
into the valve stem
D. Turn the adjusng screw inside the stem clockwise to decrease ame or
counter clockwise to increase ame.
E. Perform leak test on the valve stem using the soapy water soluon.
8. The conversion is complete. Fill up the Conversion Label. Next, paste it next to
the original Serial Plate.
9. The unit is ready for installaon. Please refer back to the Users Manual to insure
safety, proper care and operaon.
