Brief Description
The sE2300 is the latest multi-pattern version of the fan-favorite 2200 condenser that put sE
Electronics on the map many years ago with its smooth, polished sound for vocals, voiceovers,
and numerous instrumental applications. Like its well-known predecessors, the sE2300 is a high-
quality condenser microphone intended for a wide range of studio applications, from vocals and
spoken word to acoustic instruments to drums and beyond. Thanks to its hand-crafted large-
diaphragm true condenser capsule, shielded custom transformer and class-A circuitry (no ICs
here!) it delivers pristine, flattering sound quality, exceptionally low noise, and an even, well-
balanced frequency response.
The electronics and the switchable attenuation pads ensure a high dynamic range, with high
sound pressure level (SPL) handling capability and extremely low-noise components. The
switchable low-cut filters eliminate rumble or footfall noise, and can also compensate for an
excess of bass frequencies caused by the proximity effect. This enables the sE2300 to close-mic
many instruments including electric guitar speaker cabinets, brass instruments and drums. The
three switchable polar patterns also allow for the tailoring of the balance between direct and
ambient sound, providing many options for various recording techniques.
Reliable operation even in demanding applications in difficult environments is ensured by the
roadworthy all-metal design, robust construction, and high-quality manufacturing standards.

Controls
The sE2300 features a switch for the attenuation pads, a switch for the low-cut filters, and a
switch for the polar pattern selection.
Attenuation Switch
The Attenuation Switch is located on the front-left side of the
microphone. When switched on, the incoming signal is reduced by
either 10 or 20 dB for capturing of loud instruments and/or close-
miking without distortion. Using the switch also helps prevent

overloading the input stage of recording interfaces, mixing desks and microphone preamps.
Low-Cut Switch
The Low-Cut Switch is located on the front-right side of the microphone,
and inserts a low-cut filter at 80Hz (left position) or 160Hz (right
position). The switch’s center position removes the filter for a flat
frequency response. Wind noise, plosives, footfall noise or rumble might
affect the recorded signal, so enabling the low-cut filters reduces such
unwanted noise and prevents distortion. Additionally, the low-cut filters
also minimize the proximity effect when recording sound sources at a
very short distance.
Pattern Switch
The 3-position Pattern Switch is located on the rear side of the
microphone, and allows the sE2300’s polar pattern to be changed from
omnidirectional to cardioid to figure-eight. This allows for great control
over the balance between direct and ambient sound.
Powering
To ensure proper operation, the microphone requires a phantom power source providing 48 Volts
according to IEC 61938.
Risk of damage
Do not connect the microphone to any power supply other than a phantom
power source (input with phantom power or external IEC standard phantom
power supply) with a floating connector, using a balanced cable with studio
grade connectors to IEC 268-12 only. This is the only way to ensure safe
and reliable operation.

Please make sure that the piece of equipment to which your microphone
will be connected fulfils the safety regulations enforced in your country and
is fitted with a ground lead.
Cleaning the microphone
After every use, clean the microphone with a dry, soft cloth tissue and store it in a solid case or a
zipper pouch.

Kurzbeschreibung
Das sE2300 ist die neueste Version des beliebten Studiomikrofons, das sE Electronics dank seiner
herausragenden Klangeigenschaften in kurzer Zeit zu hohem Ansehen verholfen hat. Sein
geschmeidiger aber dennoch präsenter Klang eignet sich ideal für Gesangs- und
Sprachaufnahmen oder die Abnahme von Instrumenten. Für den ausbalancierten, nuancenreichen
Klang ist die goldbedampfte Großmembrankapsel in „echter“ Kondensatortechnik verantwortlich.
Die Kombination aus der handgefertigten Kapsel, der bewährten Elektronik in Class-A Schaltung
und dem speziell für das sE2300 gefertigten Ausgangstransformator sorgen für erstklassige
Klangqualität und das „gewisse Etwas“. Die sorgfältig ausgewählten Bauelemente und das
überarbeitete Elektronikdesign verzichten ganz bewusst auf integrierte Schaltungen (ICs). Die
schaltbaren Vorabschwächungsfilter ermöglichen einen hohen Dynamikumfang und garantieren
die saubere Verarbeitung von sehr hohen Schalldrücken. Das schaltbare Hochpassfilter
unterdrückt niederfrequenten Störschall und kompensiert den Nahbesprechungseffekt. Hohe
Zuverlässigkeit auch im anspruchsvollen Bühneneinsatz wird durch die robuste Konstruktion aus
Metall und die hohen Produktionsstandards gewährleistet.
Lieferumfang
Bitte kontrolliere gleich nach dem Öffnen den Inhalt der Verpackung. Falls sie nicht vollständig ist,

Bedienelemente
Das sE2300 besitzt je einen Schalter zur Auswahl des Vorabschwächungsfilters, des
Hochpassfilters und der Richtcharakteristik.
Vorabschwächungsfilter
Der Schalter für das Vorabschwächungfilter befindet sich auf der linken
Seite des Mikrofons. Ist er aktiviert, schwächt er das Signal um 10 oder
20 dB ab, um die Aufnahme von lauten Instrumenten bzw.
Nahfeldmikrofonierung ohne Verzerrungen zu ermöglichen. Dies
verhindert auch die Übersteuerung von Eingangsstufen von
Audiointerfaces, Mischpulten und Mikrofonvorverstärkern.

Hochpassfilter
Der Schalter für das Hochpassfilter befindet sich auf der rechten Seite des
Mikrofons. Windgeräusche, Popplaute, Trittschall oder Rumpelgeräusche
beeinträchtigen möglicherweise das Aufnahmesignal. Durch Betätigung
des Schalters werden derartige Störsignale und daraus resultierende
Verzerrungen verringert. In der linken Position setzt das Filter bei 80Hz
ein, in der rechten bei 160Hz. Zusätzlich verringert der Hochpassfilter die
bei geringen Mikrofonierungsabständen auftretende Bassanhebung durch
den Nahbesprechungseffekt.
Richtcharakteristik
Der Schalter für die Auswahl der Richtcharakteristik befindet sind ich der
Mitte der Rückseite des Mikrofons. Er ermöglicht eine präzise Auswahl der
Richtcharakteristik (Acht, Niere oder Kugel) und ermöglich dadurch eine
Vielzahl an Anwendungsmöglichkeiten.
Stromversorgung
Für eine einwandfreie Funktion wird eine Phantomspeisung mit 48V gemäß IEC 61938 benötigt.
Beschädigungsgefahr
Schließe das Mikrofon nur an geeignete Quellen (Eingang mit Phantom-
speisung oder externe Speisung mit Phantomspeisung gemäß IEC
Standard) mit erdfreien Anschluss an und verwende ein symmetrisches
Kabel mit Studiosteckverbinden IEC 268-12. Nur so kann eine einwandfreie
Funktion gewährleistet werden.
Sicherheit und Pflege
Beschädigungsgefahr
Bitte stelle sicher, dass die an das Mikrofon angeschlossenen Geräte die
gültigen Sicherheitsbestimmungen erfüllen und mit einer Sicherheits-
erdung verbunden sind.
Reinigung des Mikrofons
Wir empfehlen das Mikrofon nach jedem Gebrauch mit einem trockenen, fusselfreien Tuch zu
reinigen und es in einem soliden Koffer oder einem Mikrofonetui aufzubewahren.

Breve descrizione
sE2300 rappresenta l’ultima versione multipattern del 2200, il microfono che ha dato più di tutti
notorietà al marchio sE, facendolo conoscere al mondo grazie alle sue caratteristiche sonore mai
aggressive, perfette per la ripresa vocale, per il doppiaggio e numerose altri tipi di
applicazioni.Come i suoi predecessori sE2300 è un microfono a condensatore di qualità elevata
destinato ad una vasta gamma di utilizzi in studio, dalla ripresa della voce in parti cantate o nel
parlato, dagli strumenti acustici alla batteria e oltre. Grazie alla capsula true-condenser di grandi
dimensioni, al trasformatore custom schermato e alla circuiteria in Classe-A (niente circuiti
integrati qui!) sE2300 ha una sonorità naturale e dettagliata, una risposta in frequenza uniforme e
ben bilanciata ed un rumore di fondo bassissimo.
L’elettronica costruita con componenti estremamente silenziosi ed il pad di attenuazione,
assicurano un alto range dinamico e la capacità di gestire alte pressioni sonore senza distorsioni. I
filtri passa alto risultano indispensabili per attenuare rumori dovuti a calpestio e rimbombi e per
ridurre l’effetto prossimità. In questo modo sE2300 può essere usato anche per riprendere
sorgenti sonore anche da molto vicino senza perdere in chiarezza e definizione, come amplificatori
per chitarra elettrica e basso o tamburi. I tre diversi diagrammi polari a disposizione permettono di
trovare il bilanciamento ideale tra suono diretto e ambiente in ogni tipo di applicazione e con ogni
tipo di tecnica di ripresa.
Il funzionamento affidabile anche in applicazioni impegnative o in ambienti difficili è garantito dal
design della scocca completamente in metallo, dalla robusta costruzione e dagli elevati standard
di produzione.

Controlli
Su sE2300 sono presenti un selettore per i pad di attenuazione, uno per i filtri passa alto e uno per
la selezione del diagramma polare.

Switch Attenuazione
Lo switch per l'Attenuazione è posizionato nella parte frontale a
sinistra del microfono. Una volta attivato, il segnale in ingresso viene
attenuato di 10 o di 20 dBin modo che si possano riprendere sorgenti
ad elevata pressione sonora o a distanza molto ravvicinata, senza
distorsione. L'utilizzo dello switch inoltre riduce la possibilità di
saturare gli stadi di ingresso delle interfacce audio, dei mixer e dei
preamplificatori microfonici.
Interruttore Filtro Passa Alto
Lo Switch Low-Cut è posizionato nella parte frontale a destra del
microfono ed inserisce un filtro passa alto a 80Hz o 160Hz. Nella
posizione centrale il filtro è inattivo,per una risposta in frequenza lineare. Il
soffio del vento, le vocali consonanti plosive, rumori dovuti al calpestio
possono rovinare il segnale da registrare: attivando il filtro passa alto (low
cut filter) vengono ridotti questo tipo di disturbi ed evitate distorsioni
indesiderate.Inoltre, il filtro low cut è utile anche per minimizzare l'effetto
prossimità quando si posiziona il microfono molto vicino alla sorgente..
Selettore dei diagrammi polari
Il selettore a 3 posizioni è situato nella parte posteriore del microfono e
permette di variare la figura polare da omnidirezionale a cardioide a figura
a 8. In questo modo si riesce sempre ad avere il corretto bilanciamento
tra suono diretto ed ambiente.
Alimentazione
Per funzionare nelle condizioni ideali il microfono necessita di essere alimentato tramite phantom
power con tensione di 48 Volts come da specifiche IEC 61938.
Rischidi infortunio
Non collegate il microfono ad alimentatori diversi da una sorgente di
alimentazione phantom (ingresso con phantom power o alimentatore
esterno standard IEC phantom), utilizzando un cavo bilanciato cablato
secondo IEC 268-12. Questo è l'unico modo per garantire un
funzionamento sicuro e affidabile.
Sicurezza e manutenzione

Brève description
Le sE 2300 est la nouvelle version multipolaire du modèle phare sE 2200 de chez sE Electronics.
Avec sa plage dynamique souple et sa sonorité cristalline, le sE 2300 s’impose sur les séances
d’enregistrements de voix et s’adapte parfaitement pour la prise de son d’instruments multiples.
En poursuivant les traces de son prédécesseur, le sE2300 est un micro à condensateur haut de
gamme destiné aux enregistrements en studio, en passant par la prise de voix à la prise de tous
types d’instruments acoustiques y compris la batterie et bien plus encore. Grâce au processus de
fabrication authentique de la capsule « fait- main », avec son transformateur customisé et son
circuit de classe A (pas de circuit intégré ici !) Il délivre un son d’une qualité inégalée avec une
réponse en fréquence juste et équilibrée, et possède un niveau de bruit extrêmement faible.
Les composants électroniques, d’un rapport signal-bruit extrêmement faible, et le commutateur
d’atténuation, garantissent une plage dynamique des plus larges, et permet un niveau d’utilisation
en dB SPL élevé. Le commutateur du filtre coupe-bas élimine les bruits de fonds et permet
d’atténuer l’accentuation des basses dues à l’effet de proximité. Ainsi le sE2300 peut être utilisée
pour les prises rapprochées de tous instruments y compris, les cabinets pour guitares électriques,
les cuivres, batteries et percussions. Le sélecteur multipolaire permet d’améliorer votre prise de
son en équilibrant le son direct et le son réverbéré, l’un des facteurs clés pour l’obtention d’un
mixage final professionnel, de vos réalisations sonores.
D’une utilisation fiable en toutes circonstances, y compris les plus extrêmes, de par sa fabrication
robuste en métal, et suivant nos contrôles de qualités les plus strictes.

Contrôles
En complément du sélecteur de diagramme polaire, le sE 2300 est doté d’un sélecteur
d’atténuation, et d’un sélecteur de filtre coupe bas. Vous disposez ainsi, de toutes les options
techniques pour la réalisation d’une prise de son à caractère professionnelle.

Commutateur d’atténuation
Le commutateur d’atténuation se trouve sur la face avant à gauche du
microphone. Quand il est actionné, le signal entrant est réduit de 10 ou
20 dB pour capturer le son d’instrument puissant et/ou la prise de son
rapproché sans distorsion. Utiliser ce commutateur aide aussi à prévenir
la surcharge des circuits d’entrée des interfaces audio numérique, table
de mixage, et des préamplificateurs de microphone.
Commutateur filtres coupe bas
Le commutateur des filtres coupe bas se trouve sur la face avant à droite
du microphone, et insert un filtre coupe bas à 80HZ ou bien à 160HZ. En
position centrale, les filtres sont désactivés pour une réponse fréquentielle
plate. Bruit de vent, plosives, bruit de pas, ou « rumble » peuvent affecter le
signal enregistré, l’activation de ce filtre coupe bas réduit de tels bruits
indésirables et évite la distorsion. De plus, le filtre coupe bas minimise
l’effet de proximité quand vous enregistrez une source à une très faible
distance.
Sélecteur multipolaire
Le sélecteur de diagramme polaire situé à l’arrière du microphone, module
la directivité souhaité de la capsule du microphone pour s’adapter
parfaitement a la situation de votre prise de son. La sélection se fait entre
omnidirectionnelle, cardioïde et figure en 8.
Alimentation
Afin d'assurer un bon fonctionnement, le microphone nécessite une source d'alimentation
fantôme fournissant 48 Volts conformément à la norme IEC 61938.
Risque de dommages
Ne pas connecter le microphone à une alimentation autre qu'une source
d'alimentation fantôme (entrée avec alimentation fantôme ou alimentation
fantôme externe au standard IEC) avec une masse flottante, en utilisant un
câble symétrique avec des connecteurs de qualité studio conforme à la
norme IEC 268-12 seulement. Ceci est la seule façon d'assurer un
fonctionnement sûr et fiable.
Sécurité et maintenance
Risque de dommages
Assurez-vous que le matériel auquel votre microphone sera connecté
satisfait aux règles de sécurité en vigueur dans votre pays et est équipé
d'une prise de terre.
Nettoyage du microphone
Après chaque utilisation, nettoyez le microphone avec un chiffon doux et sec et le stocker dans un
boite solide ou une poche à fermeture éclair.
