EMAX designs and manufactures products for safe

Get to know your compressor
Please refer to  g 1, 2 and 3.
1. TANK DRAIN VALVE
(located on bottom of tank) - The tank drain
valve can be opened to allow moisture and
compressed air to be released from the air tank.
The tank drain valve should
always be opened slowly to
avoid damage to equipment and possible injury.
2. AIR TANK -
ten gallon (37.9 liters) tank
3. RUBBER FOOT
Reduces compressor vibration and movment.
4. SAFETY VALVE -
The safety valve automatically relieves pressure
from the air tank in the event of excessive
pressure build up. Safety Valve is preset at
factory. Do not attempt to make any adjustments
to the safety valve. Periodically pull the ring on
the safety valve end to check that it is working
properly.
5. RESERVOIR AIR PRESSURE GAUGE -
Indicates pressure of compressed air built up in
the tank.
6. PRESSURE SWITCH -
Controlled by the red-tipped power switch lever
which turns the air compressor on and o . When
switch lever is pulled up, compressor is turned
o . When lever is moved down to the "Auto"
position, the pressure switch is engaged and will
start the compressor pump automatically when
tank pressure is below the factory-set minimum.
The pressure switch continues to monitor the
pressure and turns the pump o when the
pressure reaches the factory-set maximum.
Always make sure that the
compressor power switch is in the
OFF position before performing any maintenance
or plugging the compressor into a power supply.

7. AIR FILTER -
Ensures the air being pressurized is free of
contaminants and reduces the amount of noise
the pump generates.
8. OUTPUT AIR PRESSURE GAUGE -
Shows the pressure of the air as it leaves the
compressor.
9. HANDLE -
The handle allows for easy transport of your air
compressor.
10. AIR REGULATOR -
The air regulator controls the output air
pressure. Turn regulator clockwise to increase
air pressure, counter-clockwise to decrease air
pressure.
11. AIR COUPLER -
Convenient brass quick-disconnect air coupler
allows for fast easy connection to an air hose.
12. WHEELS -
for easy transport of your air compressor.

Air Compressor
Basic Guidelines
1. Allow only trained, authorized persons who
have read and understood these operating
instructions to use this compressor. Failure
to follow the instructions, procedures and
safety precautions in this manual can result in
accidents and injuries.
2. NEVER start or operate the compressor
under unsafe conditions. Tag the compressor,
disconnect and lock out all power to it to
prevent accidental start-up until the condition
is corrected.
3. Install, use and operate the compressor only
in full compliance with all pertinent OSHA
regulations and all applicable Federal, State &
Local Codes, standards and regulations.
4. NEVER modify the compressor and/or
controls in any way.
5. Keep a rst aid kit in a convenient place. Seek
medical assistance promptly in case of injury.
Avoid infection by caring for any small cuts
and burns promptly.
Breathable Air
1. NEVER use air from this compressor for
breathable air except in full compliance with
OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910 and any other
Federal, State or Local codes or regulations.
Death or serious injury can result
from inhaling compressed air
without using proper safety
equipment. See OSHA standards
on safety equipment.
2. DO NOT use air line anti-icer systems
in air lines supplying respirators or other
equipment used to produce breathable air.
DO NOT discharge air from these systems in
unventilated or other conned areas.
Pressurized Components
1. This equipment is supplied with a ASME
designed pressure vessel protected by an
ASME rated relief valve. Pull the ring before
each use to make sure the valve is functional.
DO NOT attempt to open valve while the
machine is under pressure.
2. Improper maintenance could lead to the air
tank bursting or exploding.
3. Drain air tank after each use or
daily to prevent moisture buildup in the
air tank. Rust can weaken the air tank
and cause leaks or bursting. If rust is
detected, replace tank immediately.
4. Do not attempt repairs to the air tank by
welding, drilling or other modications. Such
modications may weaken the air tank and
cause a hazardous condition.
5. If the air tank develops a leak, replace it
immediately. Never repair, weld or make
modications to the air tank or its attachments.
6. Do not make adjustments to the factory-set
pressures.
7. Never exceed attachments' manufacturer's
maximum-allowable pressure rating.
8. Do not use plastic pipe or lead tin solder
joints for a discharge line as the may not
withstand the high heat developed during air
compression.
Personal Protective Equipment
Be sure all operators and others around the
compressor and its controls comply with all
applicable OSHA, Federal, State and local
regulations, codes and standards relating to
personal protective equipment. This includes
respiratory protective equipment, protection for
the extremities, protective clothing, protective
shields and barriers, electrical protective
equipment, and personal hearing protective
equipment.
1. Eye protection should be worn at all times
when operating this tool. Use ANSI approved
safety glasses. Everyday eyeglasses are NOT
safety glasses. Dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection should
be used in appropriate conditions.
2. Wear proper apparel.
Loose clothing, gloves, neckties, rings,
bracelets, or other jewelry may present a
potential hazard when operating this tool.
Please keep all apparel clear of the tool.
Inspection
Inspect compressor prior to any use. Check for
external damage that might have occurred during
transit. Be careful of moving parts. Report any
damage to delivery carrier immediately.
Do not operate unit if damaged
during shipping, handling or use.
Damage may result in bursting and cause injury
or property damage.
Installation
Area
1. Install compressor in a clean, dry and well-lit
area. Be sure installation area can maintain a
temperature range between 35° - 110° F (2° -
43° C).
If ambient temperature drops
below 32˚F (0° C), be sure to
protect safety/relief valves and drain valves from
freezing. NEVER operate compressor with
temperatures below 15˚F (-9.5° C) or above 125˚F
(52° C).
2. Allow sucient space around compressor for
maintenance access and adequate airow.
Mount unit leaving a minimum of 15 inches (38
cm) of clearance.

3. Use shims to level compressor if installation
area is not at. This will avoid excessive
vibration and premature pump wear.
DO NOT install compressor in
boiler room, paint spray room, or
area where sandblasting occurs. Make sure inlet
air is away from exhaust fumes or other toxic,
noxious or corrosive fumes or substances.
4. If acid is used in operating environment or air
is dust laden, pipe intake to outside, fresh air.
Increase pipe size by one size for every 20
feet of run. Be sure to install protective hood
around intake lter.
5. Insulate cold water or other low temperature
pipes that pass overhead to avoid
condensation dripping on compressor which
could cause rust and/or motor shorting.
Electrical Safety
Be sure only trained and
authorized personnel maintain
this compressor in accordance
with all applicable federal, state
and local codes, standards and
regulations. Follow all NEC
(National Electric Code) standards especially
those concerning equipment grounding
conductors.
1. Follow all NEC and local codes for electrical
wiring. Allow only authorized Polar Air service
person or certied electrician to install
electrical components.
2. Put unit on dedicated circuit and make sure
no other electrical equipment is wired into it.
Failure to wire unit on independent circuit can
cause circuit overload and/or imbalance in
motor phasing. Install proper No Fuse Breaker
(NFB) according to kW output of compressor.
3. Ensure incoming service has adequate
ampere rating.
4. Ensure supply line has the same electrical
characteristics (voltage, cycles and phase) as
the electric motor.
5. Refer to amp load information on the
specications label and use correctly sized
wiring. Be sure to consider distance between
power supply and machine.
6. Install surge protection device between power
supply and compressor motor.
7. Make sure to install properly sized breakers
and fuses.
8. The unit must be properly grounded. DO NOT
connect ground wire to air or cooling lines.
9. If the tool is equipped with three-pin plug, it
should be plugged into a three-pin electrical
socket. Never remove the ground pin.
10. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of
electric shock if your body is grounded.
11. To reduce the risk of electrical shock or injury,
do not expose tool to moisture.
Don’t use this tool in damp or wet locations.
Keep out of rain.
12. Do not abuse cord.
Never use the cord to carry tools or pull the
plug from an outlet. Keep cord away from
heat, sharp edges or moving parts. Check
for damage and replace damaged cords
immediately before connecting to power
supply. Damaged cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
13. Always disconnect the tool from power source
before making any adjustments, storing,
servicing, or changing accessories. Such
preventative safety measures reduce the risk
of starting the tool accidentally.
14. Keep away from ammables.
Do not attempt to operate this tool near
ammable materials or combustibles. Failure
to comply may cause serious injury or death.
15. Risk of Fire or Explosion.
Do not spray ammable liquid in a conned
area. Spray area must be well ventilated.
Do not smoke while spraying or spray where
spark or ame is present. Keep compressors
as far from spraying area as possible.
Operation
Safety Rules
1. Make sure all operators receive product
training, read and understand all instructions.
Keep all ammable, combustible,
poisonous and noxious materials
away from operating area. Make
sure there are no oily rags, trash,
leaves, litter or other
combustible materials in
operating area. Keep suitable, fully charged re
extinguishers nearby when servicing and
operating the compressor.
2. NEVER allow modications to compressor
structure or controls.
3. Keep all ignition sources away from exposed
electrical parts.
4. Keep all persons clear of compressor during
start-up and operation.
5. NEVER operate the compressor with the fan,
coupling or other guards removed.
6. DO NOT engage in horseplay with air hoses
as death or serious injury may result.
7. Make sure to provide adequate ventilation
while operating the compressor. If combustible
substances are spilled, clean up immediately.

8. When checking or when relling air line anti-
icer systems with antifreeze compound, shut
o compressor and allow it to cool. Keep
sparks, ames and other ignition sources
away and DO NOT permit smoking in the
vicinity.
9. Stop compressor and disconnect power if a
hazardous condition arises.
10. Wear snug tting clothing and conne long
hair when around compressor. Keep all body
parts and clothing away from couplings,
ywheel and other moving parts of the
equipment.
Keep all persons away from the
discharge opening of hoses or
tools or other points of
compressed air discharge. If the
machine is installed in an
enclosed area, be sure to vent
the relief valve outside of the structure or to an
unoccupied area.
Always make sure main power is
o before touching moving parts
of compressor.
11. Never exceed the pressure rating of any
component in system.
12. Protect material and air lines from damage or
puncture. Keep hose and power cable away
from sharp objects, moisture, chemicals, oil,
etc.
13. Check condition of hoses before each use.
Do not use a damaged hose. If hose is
damaged, replace immediately.
14. Read, understand and comply with all warning
labels on unit.
15. Drain tank of moisture after each use.
If compressor is not to be used for extended
periods of time, leave tank drain valve open to
allow moisture to completely drain from tank.
16. Do not tamper with Safety Valve. The
Safety Valve is factory set for your model air
compressor. Any user adjustments to Safety
Valve will automatically void warranty.
17. Air compressors get hot while in operation.
NEVER touch the motor, the
discharge tubing or compressor
pump while in operation.
18. The compressor turns itself on and o
automatically while the pressure switch is
turned on.
19. The air pressure switch is set at the factory
for optimum performance of your equipment.
Never attempt to bypass or remove this switch
as serious damage to equipment or personal
injury could result from excessive air pressure.
20. Compressed air from the unit may contain
carbon monoxide. Air produced is not suitable
for breathing purposes.
21. Always use a respirator when spraying paint
or chemicals.
Air Tool Cautions
1. DO NOT use air tools that are rated below the
maximum rating of the compressor. Select
air tools, air hoses, pipes, valves, lters and
other ttings accordingly. DO NOT exceed
manufacturer’s rated safe operating pressures
for these items.
2. Make sure all hose connections are
adequately secured to prevent tools or hose
ends from being accidentally disconnected.
3. Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before
turning the tool on. A wrench or key that is
left attached to a moving part of the tool may
result in personal injury.
4. Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark work areas invite accidents.
5. Keep children away.
All children should be kept away from the work
area. Never let a child handle a tool without
strict adult supervision.
6. Store idle tools out of the reach of children and
untrained persons.
Tools may be dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
7. Do not operate any tool if under the inuence
of alcohol or drugs.
Read warning labels on prescriptions to
determine if your judgment or reexes are
impaired while taking drugs. If there is any
doubt, do not attempt to operate.
8. Do not force tool.
Use the correct tool for your application. The
correct tool will do the job better and safer at
the rate for which it was designed.
9. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn
it on and o.
Any tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
10. Check for damage.
Check your tool regularly. If part of the tool
is damaged it should be carefully inspected
to make sure that it can perform its’ intended
function correctly. If in doubt, the part should
be repaired. Refer all servicing to a qualied
technician. Consult your dealer for advice.
11. Maintain tools with care.
Keep tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained tools, with sharp cutting edges, are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.

Power Source Connection
Power Requirements
This tool is designed to operate on a properly
grounded 120 volt, 60 Hz, single phase alternating
current (AC) power source fused with a 15 amp time
delayed circuit breaker. It is recommended that a
qualied electrician verify the ACTUAL VOLTAGE at
the receptacle into which the tool will be plugged and
conrm that the receptacle is properly grounded. The
use of the proper circuit size can eliminate nuisance
circuit breaker tripping when using your tool.
Improper performance, and/or, damage to the tool
will result if operated on inadequate, or excessive
power.
DO NOT OPERATE THIS TOOL if
the ACTUAL power source
voltage is less than 105 volts AC or greater than
132 volts AC.
Grounding Instructions
In the event of an electrical malfunction or short
circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock.
The motor of this machine is wired for 120 V single
phase operation and is equipped with a 3-conductor
cord and a 3-prong grounding plug to t a grounded
type receptacle (B, g 4). Do not remove the 3rd
prong (grounding pin) to make it t into an old 2-hole
wall socket or extension cord. If an adaptor plug is
used (C, g 4) it must be attached to the metal screw
of the receptacle.
The use of an adaptor plug is illegal
in some areas, including Canada.
Check your local codes. If you have any doubts
or if the supplied plug does not correspond to
your electrical outlet, consult a qualied
electrician before proceeding.
Connect to power source
Consult a qualied electrician for proper installation
of receptacle at the source of power. This tool must
be grounded while in use to protect the operator from
electrical shock. If you are not sure if your outlet is
properly grounded, have it checked by a qualied

electrician. Make sure the tool is turned OFF when
connecting the power cord to a properly grounded
120 Volts, 60 Hz, single phase, 15 amp power
source.
Getting Started
Unpack your compressor.
Before operating your tool, check the contents of the
box to make sure you have everything you will need.
Items included in the box:

Save packaging in case you need to
return the compressor for servicing or
repair.
Assembly
Before performing any assembly or
maintenance, make sure compressor
is turned o and unplugged from the power
supply.
Place compressor on level ground. It is designed to
function properly at an incline of no greater than 15
degrees.
Installing the air filter
The air lters should be installed into the tops of the
pump cylinder heads (as shown in g 1, above).
1. Thread the air lter into motor head port located
under the plastic shroud.
2. Carefully screw each air lter into the cylinder
head by turning the air lter clockwise, hand tight.
DO NOT over-tighten the air lter.
3. Be sure the short length of exible hose is
inserted into the hole in the air lter housing. This
increases the noise-reduction capabilities of your
compressor.
Operation
Before operating your air compressor:
Inspect for damage before using the air
compressor, make sure the air tank is not
damaged, inspect all parts for damage, and
check that all pipes and hoses are rmly
connected.
Do not use the air compressor if any damage is
found. If damaged, have an authorized service
center inspect and test the air compressor to
ensure that is working properly.

Pull the ring on the safety valve before each use
to make sure the valve is functional.
Depending on the CFM draw of the tools being
operated, your new air compressor can be used
for operating paint sprayers, air tools, grease
guns, airbrushes, caulking guns, abrasive
blasters, tire & plastic toy in ation, spraying
weed killer and insecticides, etc. Proper
adjustment of the air pressure regulator is
necessary for all of these operations. Refer to
the air pressure speci cations provided with the
tool you are using.
General Overview
Installation and Location
Locate the compressor in a clean, dry and well
ventilated area. The compressor should be located
12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm) from walls or any
other obstruction which would interfere with air ow.
Compressor should be located in a temperature-
controlled area between 32° and 95° fahrenheit
(0 ° and 35 °C). Place the compressor on a  rm,
level surface. The compressor is designed with heat
dissipation  ns which allow for proper cooling. Keep
the  ns (and all other parts which collect dust or dirt)
clean. A clean compressor runs cooler and provides
longer service. Do not place rags, containers or other
material on top of the compressor.
Connecting to Power Source
This air compressor is designed to operate on a
properly grounded 120 volt, 60 Hz, single phase,
alternating current (AC) power source with a fused
20 amp time-delayed fuse or circuit breaker. It is
recommended that a quali ed electrician verify the
ACTUAL VOLTAGE at the receptacle into which the
unit will be plugged and con rm that the receptacle is
properly fused and grounded. The use of the proper
circuit size can eliminate nuisance circuit breaker
tripping while operating your air compressor.
Extension Cords
For optimum air compressor performance an
extension cord should not be used unless
absolutely necessary.
If you must choose between an electrical
extension cord and a longer air hose, choose
the latter. It is far better for the life of the
compressor. If necessary, care must be taken in
selecting an extension cord appropriate for use
with your speci c air compressor.
Use a heavy-gauge extension, since very thin
or very long cord may cause voltage drop
and result in loss of power in the compressor
and overheating. Select a properly grounded
extension cord which will mate directly with
the power source receptacle and the air
compressor power cord without the use of
adapters. Make certain that the extension
cord is properly wired and in good electrical
condition.
Maximum length of extension cord should be
50 feet (15 meters). Minimum wire size of
extension cord should be 12 gauge.
Attaching an air hose
Your air compressor is supplied with a 1/4" push-
connect air coupler ( g 6). With a factory installed
air coupler, your compressor is ready to accept air
hoses equipped with 1/4" male air connectors ( g 4).
Use only air hoses rated for use with
125 psi air pressure or higher.
To install any air hose equipped with a 1/4" male
connector ( g 5):
1. Simply push the "connector" or "plug" into the
tting ( g 6) and it automatically engages.
2. Verify that air hose is securely connected to air
coupler by pulling on the air hose.
Drain Valve
1. Make sure the tank drainage valve is closed
( g 7.0) and not in the open position ( g 7.1).
Pressure Switch
2. Check that the pressure switch is pointed to
the OFF position ( g 8.0).
3. Ensure that the power supply you are going to
use is operating normally.

4. Insert the power supply cord into the power
supply socket.
5. Turn the pressure switch on, moving the lever
to the AUTO position ( g 8.1).
6. On the reservoir pressure gauge, you can
watch pressure build in the tank until the pump
stops at the factory-set pressure, about 115 to
125 psi.
7. This  rst time running your compressor and
periodically thereafter, check for air leaks. If
the gauge indicates pressure is going down in
the tank or you hear leakage, you could apply
soapy water to all joints in the air transport
piping. Tighten these joints if bubbles form.
Adjusting the air pressure
Your air compressor is supplied with an air pressure
regulator. This regulator adjusts the air pressure
supplied to the hose.
To increase air pressure, turn air regulator
knob ( g 9.10) clockwise.
To decrease air pressure, turn air regulator
knob counterclockwise.
Use the outlet pressure gauge ( g 9.8) to see
the resulting pressure.
Shutting off your compressor
1. Move the pressure switch clockwise to the OFF
position ( g 8.0).
2. Unplug the compressor from the electical power.
3. If not draining the tank, reduce tank pressure
through the air hose.

4. Drain the tank by slowly opening the drain valve
( g 7.1). Place a catch basin under the valve to
protect the surface from water damage.
Cold Weather Starting
Temperatures below freezing (32 °F / 0 °C) cause
the metal parts of your air compressor to contract
and that makes starting more di cult. To assist the
air compressor in starting in cold weather, follow
these tips:
1. Try to keep the air compressor stored in
temperatures above 32 °F (0 °C).
2. Open the air tank drain valve and release all air
pressure from the air tank before attempting to
start in cold weather. (After air is released from air
tank, close drain valve.)
3. Pull the ring on the safety valve before each use
to make sure the valve is functional.
4. Plug the air compressor directly into a 120
volt electrical outlet. Do not use an extension
cord when starting your air compressor in cold
weather.
Maintenance
Daily
Before each use,
1. check for any unusual noise or vibration.
2. be sure all nuts and bolts are tight.
After each use, drain condensation from the air
tank.
Monthly
Inspect air system for leaks by applying soapy
water to all joints. Tighten these joints if leaks
are discovered.
Storage
When storing your compressor:
1. Be sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Unplug it from power source.
3. Rotate the regulator to set the outlet pressure to
zero.
4. Release air pressure from all hoses and air
tank(s).
5. Drain all moisture from air tank(s).
6. Fully close drain valve(s).
7. Protect electrical cord and air hoses from damage
(such as being stepped on or driven over). Wrap
all cords and hoses loosely around the (cooled)
air compressor.
8. Place air compressor in a cool, dry, safe, and
indoor location.

Troubleshooting
Always inspect the compressor before use, and make sure it is in good working condition. Make sure all air
vents are clear. Check the power cable to make sure it is intact and free from cracks, bare wires etc. Avoid
using solvents when cleaning plastic parts, most plastics are susceptible to damage from the various types of
commercial solvents.

Veuillez vous reporter à la  gure 1.
1. SOUPAPE DE DRAINAGE
(située au bas du réservoir) - La soupape de
vidange du réservoir peut être ouverte pour
permettre l'évacuation des résidus d’eau,
d'humidité et d'air comprimé dans le réservoir
d'air.
La soupape de vidange du
réservoir doit toujours être
ouverte lentement pour éviter d'endommager
l'équipement et des blessures éventuelles.
2. RÉSERVOIR -
réservoir de deux gallons (7.6 litres)
3. PATTES DE CAOUTCHOUC-
réduit les vibrations et les mouvements du
compresseur.
4. SOUPAPE DE SÉCURITÉ -
La soupape de sécurité dégage
ATTENTION
automatiquement la pression du réservoir d'air
en cas de compression excessive. La soupape
de sécurité est préréglée en usine. N'essayez
pas d'e ectuer des réglages sur la soupape
de sécurité. Retirez périodiquement la bague
de l'extrémité de la soupape de sécurité pour
véri er qu'elle fonctionne correctement.
5. JAUGE DE PRESSION D'AIR DU RÉSERVOIR -
Indique la pression de l'air comprimé accumulé
dans le réservoir.
6. INTERRUPTEUR DE PRESSION -
Contrôlé par le levier de l'interrupteur
d'alimentation à pointe rouge qui allume et
éteint le compresseur d'air. Lorsque le petit bras
du levier est enfoncé, le compresseur est éteint.
Lorsque le levier est déplacé vers la position
"Auto", le pressostat est enclenché et démarre
automatiquement la pompe du compresseur
lorsque la pression du réservoir est inférieure
au réglage minimum d’usine. Le pressostat
continue de surveiller la pression et éteint la

pompe lorsque la pression atteint le maximum
du réglage d'usine.
Assurez-vous toujours que l'interrupteur
d'alimentation du compresseur est en
position OFF avant d'e ectuer toute maintenance
ou de brancher le compresseur dans une
alimentation électrique.
7. FILTRE À AIR –
Assurez-vous que l'air pressurisé est exempt de
contaminants et réduit la quantité de bruit
généré par la pompe.
8. JAUGE DE PRESSION D'AIR DE SORTIE -
Indique la pression de l'air lorsqu’elle quitte le
compresseur.
9. POIGNÉE -
Une poignée pratique et souple en caoutchouc
permet un transport facile de votre compresseur
d'air.

Le régulateur d'air contrôle la pression d'air
de sortie. Tournez le régulateur dans le sens
des aiguilles d'une montre pour augmenter la
pression d'air, dans le sens inverse des aiguilles
d'une montre pour diminuer la pression d'air

Composants sous pression
1. Cet équipement est fourni avec un récipient
sous pression conçue ASME protégé par une
soupape de décharge nominale ASME. Tirez
l'anneau avant chaque utilisation pour vous
assurer que la soupape est fonctionnelle.
N'essayez PAS d'ouvrir la soupape lorsque la
machine est sous pression.
2. Une mauvaise maintenance pourrait entraîner
l'éclatement ou l'explosion du réservoir
d'air.
3. Vidanger le réservoir d'air après
chaque utilisation ou quotidiennement
pour éviter l'accumulation d'humidité
dans le réservoir d'air. La rouille peut aaiblir
le réservoir d'air et provoquer des fuites
ou des éclats. Si la rouille est détectée,
remplacez le réservoir immédiatement.
4. N'essayez pas de réparer le réservoir d'air
par soudure, forage ou autres modications.
De telles modications peuvent aaiblir
le réservoir d'air et causer des conditions
dangereuses.
5. Si le réservoir d'air développe une fuite,
remplacez-le immédiatement. Ne jamais
réparer, souder ou apporter des modications
au réservoir d'air ou à ses pièces jointes.
6. Ne modiez pas les pressions réglées en
usine.
7. Ne dépassez jamais la pression maximale
admissible du fabricant.
8. N'utilisez pas de tuyaux en plastique ou de
soudure en plomb pour une ligne d’air, car il
risque de ne pas résister à la chaleur élevée
développée lors de la compression de l'air.
Équipement de protection individuelle
Assurez-vous que tous les opérateurs et
autres personnes autour du compresseur et de
ses commandes sont conformes à toutes les
réglementations, codes et normes OSHA, fédéraux,
provinciaux et locaux applicables aux équipements
de protection individuelle. Cela comprend un
équipement de protection respiratoire, une protection
pour les extrémités, des vêtements de protection,
des boucliers de protection et des barrières,
un équipement de protection électrique et un
équipement de protection auditive personnel.
1. Une protection des yeux doit être portée en
tout temps lors de l'utilisation de cet outil.
Utilisez des lunettes de sécurité homologuées
ANSI. Les lunettes de tous les jours ne sont

2. Portez un vêtement approprié. Des vêtements,
des gants, des cravates, des anneaux,
des bracelets ou d'autres bijoux en vrac
peuvent présenter un risque potentiel lors
de l'utilisation de cet outil. Gardez tous les
vêtements indépendants de l'outil.
Inspection
Inspectez le compresseur avant toute utilisation.
Vériez les dommages externes qui pourraient
avoir eu lieu pendant le transport. Faites attention
aux pièces mobiles. Signaler immédiatement tout
dommage au transporteur.
Ne faites pas fonctionner
l'appareil s'il est endommagé
lors de l'expédition, de la manipulation ou de
l'utilisation. Les dommages peuvent entraîner un
éclatement et causer des blessures ou des
dommages matériels.
Installation
Zone
1. Installez le compresseur dans un endroit
propre, sec et bien éclairé. Assurez-vous que
la zone d'installation peut maintenir une plage
de température entre 35° et 110° F (2° - 43°C).
Si la température
ambiante descend en
dessous de 32 ° F (0°C), veillez à protéger les
soupapes de sécurité / détendeur et les
soupapes de vidange du gel. NE JAMAIS utiliser
le compresseur avec des températures
inférieures à 15° F (-9.5° C) ou supérieures à 125°
F (52° C).
2. Permettre un espace susant autour
du compresseur pour un accès à la
maintenance et un débit d'air adéquat.
Pour les unités installées en permanence,
laissez un minimum de 15 pouces (38 cm) de
dégagement.
3. Utilisez des cales pour niveler le compresseur
si la zone d'installation n'est pas à niveau.
Cela évitera les vibrations excessives et
l'usure prématurée de la pompe.
NE PAS installer de compresseur
dans la salle de chaudière, la salle
de peinture ou la zone où le sablage se produit.
Assurez-vous que l'air d'entrée est éloigné des
fumées d'échappement ou d'autres fumées ou
substances toxiques, nocives ou corrosives.
4. Si de l'acide est utilisé dans l'environnement
d'exploitation ou que l'air est chargé de
poussière, prenez l'apport d’air de l'extérieur
ou il y a de l'air frais. Augmenter la taille des
tuyaux d’un grade pour chaque 20 pied de
course. Assurez-vous d'installer un capot de
protection autour du ltre d'admission.
5. Isoler les tuyaux d'eau froide ou tous autres
tuyaux à basse température qui passent au
dessus pour éviter que la condensation ne
dégoutte sur le compresseur, ce qui pourrait

moteur.
Sécurité électrique
Assurez-vous que seul le
personnel formé et autorisé
maintient ce compresseur
conformément à tous les codes,
normes et règlements fédéraux,
provinciaux et locaux applicables.
Suivez toutes les normes NEC (National Electric
Code), en particulier celles relatives aux
conducteurs de mise à la terre de l'équipement.
1. Suivez tous les codes NEC et locaux pour le
câblage électrique. Autoriser uniquement le
technicien agréé Polar Air ou un électricien
certié à installer des composants électriques.
2. Placez l'appareil sur un circuit dédié et
assurez-vous qu'aucun autre équipement
électrique ne soit connecté à celui-ci. Le
défaut de câblage sur un circuit indépendant
peut provoquer une surcharge et/ou un
déséquilibre du circuit dans le démarrage
du moteur. Installez sur un disjoncteur sans
fusible (NFB) en fonction du kW de sortie du
compresseur.
3. Assurez-vous que le service entrant possède
un ampérage adéquat.
4. Assurez-vous que la ligne d'alimentation
présente les mêmes caractéristiques
électriques (tension, cycles et phase) que le
moteur électrique.
5. Reportez-vous aux informations de charge de
l'amplicateur sur l'étiquette des spécications
et utilisez un câblage de taille correcte.
Veillez à tenir compte de la distance entre
l'alimentation électrique et le compresseur.
6. Installez un dispositif de protection contre les
surtensions entre l'alimentation et le moteur du
compresseur.
7. Assurez-vous d'installer des disjoncteurs et
des fusibles de taille appropriée.
8. L'appareil doit être correctement mis à la terre.
NE PAS connecter le l de terre à l'air ou aux
lignes de refroidissement.
9. Si l'outil est équipé d'une che à trois broches,
il doit être branché sur une prise électrique à
trois broches. Ne retirez jamais la broche de
mise en terre.
10. Évitez le contact du corps avec des surfaces
de mises à la terre telles que les tuyaux, les
radiateurs, les gammes et les réfrigérateurs. Il
y a un risque accru de choc électrique si votre
corps est la mise à la terre.
11. Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique
ou de blessures, ne pas exposer l'outil à
l'humidité. N'utilisez pas cet outil dans des
endroits humides ou détrempés. Tenir hors de
la pluie.
