Getting started
The RM-PCM1 is a remote commander
designed specially for recording operations of
the Sony PCM-D50 linear PCM recorder. By
connecting the RM-PCM1 to the PCM-D50, you
can control recording operations manually.
Before you begin, read the operating instructions
of the recorder.
Identifying the parts and
controls ()
OPR (operation) indicator
Lights in red during recording. Flashes in
red during recording pause or standby.
When dividing a track, flashes rapidly.
STOP button
Press to stop recording.
PAUSE button
Starts recording while the OPR indicator
flashes in red in recording standby or pause
mode. Pauses recording while the OPR
indicator is lit in red in recording mode.
REC (recording) button
Sets the PCM-D50 in recording standby
mode. The OPR indicator flashes in red.
DIVIDE button
Divides a track and starts recording as a
new track.
REMOTE plug
Connect this plug to the REMOTE jack of
the PCM-D50.

Préparation
La RM-PCM1 est une télécommande conçue

Connecting the remote
commander ()
Insert the REMOTE plug of the remote
commander into the REMOTE jack of the
PCM-D50.
Recording a track with the
remote commander ()
Press the buttons on the remote commander to
record a track on the PCM-D50.
1 Press the REC button.
The recorder stands by for recording, and
the OPR indicator flashes in red.
2 Turn the REC LEVEL dial of the PCM-D50
to adjust the recording level.
For details, see the operating instructions of
the PCM-D50.
3 Press the PAUSE button to start
recording.
The standby for recording mode is released,
and the OPR indicator lights in red.
To pause recording
Press the PAUSE button. The OPR indicator
flashes in red. Press the button again to release
the pause.
Note
The PCM-D50 does not start recording automatically.
Be sure to release the pause when you resume
recording.
To stop recording
Press the STOP button.
Dividing a track during recording
During recording, press the DIVIDE button at
the point where you want to divide a track. The
OPR indicator flashes rapidly. For details, see the
operating instructions of the PCM-D50.
Notes on use
Do not subject the unit to strong shock or vibration.
Doing so may cause a malfunction of the unit.
Do not place the unit in the following locations:
Anywhere extremely hot. Never expose it to
temperatures above 60˚C.
Under direct sunlight or close to heaters
In a sun-heated car with the windows closed
(especially in summer)
In a humid place, such as the bathroom
Near strong magnetic sources such as speakers or
a TV set
Anywhere dusty
To avoid damage to the case, do not put the
commander into your back pocket and sit on in on a
chair. Or, do not wind the cord around the case, put
it into a bag, and apply strong force on the bag.
When the exterior is dirty, clean the surface gently
with a soft cloth slightly moistened in water, and
then wipe it again with a dry cloth. Do not use
alcohol, benzene, or thinner, etc., to avoid damaging
the finish.

Vorbereitungen
Beim Produkt RM-PCM1 handelt es sich um

Operazioni preliminari

Per evitare danni al corpo del telecomando, non
infilarlo in una tasca posteriore e sedersi su una

intorno al telecomando, inserirlo in una borsa
ed esercitare una forte pressione sulla borsa.
Quando la superficie esterna è sporca, pulirla
delicatamente con un panno morbido
leggermente inumidito con acqua, quindi

Remarques sur l'utilisation
N'exposez pas l'appareil à des vibrations ou
chocs importants. Vous risqueriez de
provoquer un dysfonctionnement de
l'appareil.
Ne placez pas l'appareil dans les endroits
suivants :
Les lieux extrêmement chauds. N'exposez
jamais l'appareil à des températures
supérieures à 60˚C.
Sous les rayons directs du soleil ou près de
radiateurs.
Dans un véhicule chauffé par le soleil et
dont les vitres sont fermées (en particulier
en été).
Dans un lieu humide, comme une salle de
bain.
Près d'un lieu à fort champ magnétique tel
que des haut-parleurs ou un poste de
télévision.
Les endroits poussiéreux.
Pour éviter d'endommager le boîtier, ne vous
asseyez pas sur une chaise après avoir placé la
télécommande dans la poche arrière de votre
pantalon. De plus, n'enroulez pas le cordon
autour du boîtier, ne le placez pas dans un sac
auquel vous appliquez une force importante.
Si l'extérieur est sale, nettoyez doucement la
surface à l'aide d'un chiffon doux légèrement
imbibé d'eau, puis essuyez-la à nouveau avec
un chiffon sec. N'utilisez pas d'alcool, de
benzène, de diluant, etc., pour éviter
d'endommager la finition.

3 Drücken Sie die Taste PAUSE, um mit
der Aufnahme zu beginnen.
Der Standbymodus für die Aufnahme wird
aufgehoben, und die OPR-Anzeige leuchtet rot.
Anhalten der Aufnahme
Drücken Sie die Taste PAUSE. Die OPR-
Anzeige blinkt rot. Drücken Sie die Taste erneut,
um die Pause aufzuheben.
Hinweis
Der PCM-D50 startet die Aufnahme nicht
automatisch. Die Pause muss zum Fortsetzen der
Aufnahme von Ihnen aufgehoben werden.
Beenden der Aufnahme
Drücken Sie die Taste STOP.
Teilen eines Tracks während der Aufnahme
Drücken Sie während der Aufnahme die Taste
DIVIDE an der Stelle, an der Sie einen Track
teilen möchten. Die OPR-Anzeige blinkt in
kurzen Abständen. In der Bedienungsanleitung
des PCM-D50 finden Sie ausführliche
Informationen hierzu.
Verwendungshinweise
Setzen Sie das Gerät keinesfalls Schlägen oder
Vibrationen aus. Andernfalls können
Fehlfunktionen beim Gerät auftreten.
Legen Sie das Gerät nicht an folgende Orte:
An sehr heiße Orte. Setzen Sie das Gerät
niemals Temperaturen über 60˚C aus.
In direktes Sonnenlicht oder in die Nähe von
Heizungen
In ein von der Sonne aufgeheiztes Auto mit
geschlossenen Fenstern (dies gilt vor allem
im Sommer)
An feuchte Orte wie beispielsweise
Badezimmer
In die Nähe starker Magnetfelder, wie sie von
Lautsprechern oder Fernsehgeräten ausgehen
An staubige Orte
Setzen Sie sich nicht, solange sich die
Fernbedienung in Ihrer Gesäßtasche befindet,
da andernfalls das Gehäuse beschädigt werden
kann. Außerdem dürfen Sie das Kabel nicht um
das Gehäuse wickeln, dieses in eine Tasche
stecken und starken Druck auf die Tasche
ausüben.
Reinigen Sie eine verschmutzte Außenfläche
vorsichtig mit einem weichen Tuch, das mit
Wasser angefeuchtet wurde, und reiben Sie die
Fläche anschließend mit einem trockenen Tuch
ab. Verwenden Sie keinesfalls Alkohol, Benzin
oder Verdünnungsmittel usw., da dies die
Oberfläche beschädigen kann.
