This thermostat is designed to control an electric heating system such as a baseboard
heater, a radiant ceiling, a convector or a fan-forced heater.
The thermostat CANNOT be used with:
• a resistive load under 0.83 A
• a resistive load over 14.6 A
• a system driven by a contactor or a relay (inductive load)
• a central heating system.
WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard.
This thermostat is a line voltage control (120240 Volts). Do not install it if you
are not completely familiar with house wiring. If handled improperly, there is risk
of electric shock hazard, which may cause serious injury or death.

Installation
TURN OFF POWER TO THE HEATING SYSTEM AT THE MAIN
POWER PANEL TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK.
• All cables and connections must comply with local electrical codes.
• This thermostat has tinned copper wires for line and load connections.
• Special CO/ALR solderless connectors must be used if these wires will be
connected to aluminium conductors.
• Install the thermostat onto an electrical box.
• Install the thermostat about 5 ft. (1.5 m) high, on an inside wall facing the
heater.
• Avoid locations where there are air drafts (such as the top of a staircase or
an air outlet), dead air spots (such as behind a door), or direct sunlight.
• Do not install the thermostat on a wall that conceals chimney or stove
pipes.
• The thermostat wires are not polarized; either wire can be connected to the
load or to the power supply.
CAUTION: ELECTRONIC WASTE NOTICE
The product should not be disposed of with other household waste.
Check for the nearest authorized collection centers or authorized
recyclers. The correct disposal of end-of-life equipment will help
prevent negative consequences for the environment and human
health.

Wiring
Connect the thermostat wires to the power and to the load using solderless
connectors for copper wires.

Thermostat mounting
1. Push the excess wires back inside the electrical
box.
2. Secure the thermostat to the electrical box using
the provided screws.
3. Insert the screws through either the right or left
pair of mounting holes on the thermostat.
NOTE: If there is a protective film or sticker on the
thermostat’s screen, peel it off.
4. Apply power to the heating system. Verify the
installation by checking that the heater can be
turned on by raising the setpoint using the Up button
and off by lowering the setpoint using the Down button.
WARNING
Keep the thermostat’s air vents clean and free
from obstructions.

Automatic mode
In Automatic mode, the thermostat adjusts its temperature setpoint
according to the period of the day. To place the thermostat in this
mode, press the Mode button until Auto appears on the screen. The
current period name also appears (unless the thermostat has not
been programmed with a schedule).
You can program up to 4 periods (Wake, Leave, Return or Sleep) in
a day. You can set 2 different programs: one for the weekdays (Monday to
Friday) and another one for the weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
The thermostat uses the following default schedule:

Temporary Override
You can temporarily modify the setpoint temperature while the thermostat is
in Automatic mode using the Up or Down button. The new setpoint will be used
until the beginning of the next period. During the override, Auto flashes on the
screen. You can cancel the override by pressing the button.

Manual (Man) mode
To place the thermostat in Manual mode, press the Mode button
until Man appears on the screen. In this mode, any modification
to the temperature setpoint must be done manually. To set the
temperature, press the Up or Down button. The default setting is 70°F
(21.0°C).
Away mode
To place the thermostat in Away mode, press the Mode button until
Away appears on the screen. This mode is a quick way to lower the
temperature to a predetermined setting before you go away for
an extended length of time. The temperature is 59 °F (15.0 °C) by
default and can be modified using the setup menu (see page 7).
Standby mode
To disable heating, press the Mode button until Standby appears on the
screen. In this mode, the setpoint temperature cannot be displayed
or modified. For frost protection, heating will turn on only to prevent
the room temperature from dropping below 41 °F (5 °C).
2. Press the Hour and Min buttons to set the
start time of the displayed period.
NOTE: To cancel the period, press the Mode
button. Instead of displaying the start time of the
period, the thermostat will display --:--. During
operation, the thermostat will skip over that
period.
3. Press the Up or Down button to set the
temperature.
4. To set another period, press the Pgm
button and repeat steps 2 and 3.
5. Press the button to return to normal
display.
To modify the schedule:
1. Press the Pgm button. Each time you press the Pgm button, the thermostat
displays one of the periods of the schedule in the following order:

Place at Yes if you have a fan-forced heater (to prevent premature burnout of
the motor). Leave at No for better temperature regulation if you do not have a
fan-forced heater.

2 Away temperature
Set the temperature you wish to use when the thermostat is in Away mode
(see page 6).
3 Daylight Saving Time
When the Daylight Saving Time function is enabled (On), the thermostat au-
tomatically switches to Daylight Saving Time on the second Sunday of March
and to normal time on the first Sunday of November.
4 Year, Month, Day
These parameters are available only if the Daylight Saving Time function is
enabled (On).
5 Early Start
Early Start is used in Automatic mode only. When Early Start is enabled (On),
the thermostat determines when to start heating so the desired temperature
is attained at the beginning of Wake and Return periods. When Early Start is
disabled (Off), heating starts only at the beginning of Wake and Return peri-
ods; thus there is a delay before you reach the desired temperature.
6 Keypad lock
The settings are locked. The temperature adjustment buttons only allow you
to view the temperature setpoint.
Troubleshooting
Your thermostat requires little or no attention. Most problems can generally
be traced to the following:
Problem Solution(s)
Thermostat is hot. This condition is normal. Ensure that the heater capacity does not
exceed the thermostat’s maximum load.
Wrong temperature is
displayed.
Correct it if any of the following situations exists:
• The thermostat is exposed to an air draft.
• The thermostat is located near or above a heat source such as a
light dimmer
Wrong time is displayed. The thermostat was without power for more than 5 hours.
Temperature does not
change according to the
programmed schedule.
Check that the thermostat is in Automatic mode.
Check the schedule and clock settings. If the thermostat is
configured in 12-hour format, ensure that PM appears on the screen
when afternoon times are displayed.
LP appears on the
screen or the screen is
blank despite there is no
power outage.
The thermal circuit breaker in the heater is opened.
This can happen if the heater is obstructed by furniture or curtain
and has overheated, or if the thermal circuit breaker is defective or
too sensitive.
The settings cannot be
changed.
The settings are locked (see page 7).

LO is displayed The measured temperature is below the display range. Heating is
activated.
HI is displayed The measured temperature is above the display range.
E1, E2 is displayed The thermostat performance is reduced due to a sensor error. Please
contact technical support for more information.
Resetting the thermostat (default settings)
NOTE: All parameters, except the clock (time and day), return to their default
settings when the thermostat is reset.
1. Press the Mode button until Standby appears on the screen.
2. Press the button for 6 seconds.
3. The thermostat will display rSt (reset) for 2 seconds to indicate it is reset
and will then return to normal display.
Power outage
During a power outage, LP (low power) appears for the first minute. Then the
screen becomes blank. The settings are stored in memory. After the initial
installation, product must be connected to power for a minimum of two hours
to enable the power outage feature. However, if the power failure exceeds 4
hours, the thermostat’s clock must be readjusted and, if you are using the
automatic Daylight Saving Time changeover function, it must be re-enabled.
When power returns, the thermostat will return to the mode of operation
active prior to the power failure.

Installation
COUPEZ L’ALIMENTATION DU SYSTÈME DE CHAUFFAGE AU

• Tous les câbles et raccords doivent être conformes aux codes électriques
locaux.
• Ce thermostat est équipé de fils de cuivre étamé pour les raccordements

Câblage
Raccordez les fils du thermostat à l’alimentation électrique et à la charge à
l’aide de connecteurs sans soudure pour fils de cuivre.

Pose du thermostat
1. Poussez les fils excédentaires à l’intérieur de la boîte
électrique.
2. Fixez le thermostat à la boîte électrique à l’aide des
vis fournies.
3. Insérez les vis dans la paire droite ou gauche de
trous de montage sur le thermostat.
REMARQUE : S’il y a un film protecteur ou un
autocollant sur l’écran du thermostat, retirez-le.
4. Mettez le système de chauffage sous tension.
Vérifiez l’installation en vérifiant que le dispositif
de chauffage peut être allumé en augmentant le
point de consigne à l’aide du bouton Up (Augmenter) et
désactivé en abaissant le point de consigne à l’aide du
bouton Down (Baisser).

Mode automatique
En mode automatique, le thermostat règle le point de consigne de
la température en fonction de la période de la journée. Pour placer
le thermostat dans ce mode, appuyez sur le bouton Mode jusqu’à ce
que Auto apparaisse à l’écran. Le nom de la période actuelle apparaît
également (sauf si le thermostat n’a pas été programmé avec un horaire).
Vous pouvez programmer jusqu’à 4 périodes (Wake (Réveil), Leave
(Absent), Return (Retour) ou Sleep (Nuit)) par jour. Vous pouvez régler 2
programmes différents : un pour les jours de la semaine (du lundi au vendredi) et
un autre pour la fin de semaine (samedi et dimanche).
Le thermostat utilise l’horaire par défaut suivant :

Dérogation temporaire
Vous pouvez modifier temporairement la température du point de consigne
lorsque le thermostat est en mode automatique à l’aide du bouton Up
(Augmenter) ou Down (Baisser). Le nouveau point de consigne sera utilisé
jusqu’au début de la période suivante. Pendant la dérogation, Auto clignote à
l’écran. Vous pouvez annuler la dérogation en appuyant sur le bouton .

Mode manuel (Man)
Pour mettre le thermostat en mode manuel, appuyez sur le bouton
Mode jusqu’à ce que Man apparaisse à l’écran. Dans ce mode, toute
modification du point de consigne de température doit être effectuée
manuellement. Pour régler la température, appuyez sur le bouton Up
(Augmenter) ou Down (Baisser). Le réglage par défaut est 70 °F (21,0
°C).
Mode Absent
Pour mettre le thermostat en mode Absent, appuyez sur le bouton
Mode jusqu’à ce que Away (Absent) apparaisse à l’écran. Ce mode est
un moyen rapide d’abaisser la température à un réglage prédéterminé
avant de partir pendant une durée prolongée. La température est de
59 °F (15,0 °C) par défaut et peut être modifiée à l’aide du menu de
configuration (voir page 17).
Mode Veille
Pour désactiver le chauffage, appuyez sur le bouton Mode jusqu’à ce
que Standby (Veille) apparaisse à l’écran. Dans ce mode, la température
de point de consigne ne peut pas être affichée ou modifiée. Pour la
protection contre le gel, le chauffage ne s’allumera que pour éviter que la
température de la pièce ne descende en dessous de 41 °F (5 °C).
2. Appuyez sur les boutons Heure et Min
pour régler l’heure de début de la période
affichée.
REMARQUE : Pour annuler la période, appuyez sur
le bouton Mode. Au lieu d’afficher l’heure de début
de la période, le thermostat affichera --:--. Pendant le
fonctionnement, le thermostat sautera cette période.
3. Appuyez sur le bouton Up (Augmenter) ou
Down (Baisser) pour régler la température.
4. Pour régler une autre période, appuyez sur le
bouton Pgm et répétez les étapes 2 et 3.
Pour modifier l’horaire :
1. Appuyez sur le bouton Pgm. Chaque fois que vous appuyez sur le bouton
Pgm, le thermostat affiche l’une des périodes de l’horaire dans l’ordre
suivant :

1 Ventilateur
Placez-le à Yes (Oui) si vous avez un dispositif de chauffage à air pulsé (pour
empêcher que le moteur s’use prématurément). Laissez-le sur No (Non) pour
avoir une meilleure régulation de la température si vous ne disposez pas d’un
dispositif de chauffage à air pulsé.

2 Température d’absence
Réglez la température que vous voulez utiliser lorsque le thermostat est en mode
Absent (voir la page 16).
3 Heure avancée
Lorsque la fonction d’Heure avancée est activée, le thermostat passe
automatiquement à l’heure avancée le deuxième dimanche de mars et à l’heure
normale le premier dimanche de novembre.
4 Année, mois, jour
Ces paramètres ne sont disponibles que si la fonction d’heure avancée est activée.
5 Démarrage anticipé
Le démarrage anticipé est utilisé uniquement en mode automatique. Lorsque
le démarrage anticipé est activé, le thermostat détermine quand démarrer le
chauffage afin que la température voulue soit atteinte au début des périodes de
réveil et de retour. Lorsque Démarrage anticipé est désactivé, le chauffage démarre
uniquement au début des périodes de réveil et de retour; il y a donc un délai avant
d’atteindre la température désirée.
6 Verrouillage du clavier
Les paramètres sont verrouillés. Les boutons de réglage de la température vous
permettent uniquement de visualiser le point de consigne de température.
Dépannage
Votre thermostat nécessite peu ou pas d’attention. La plupart des problèmes
peuvent généralement être attribués aux éléments suivants :
Problème Solution(s)
Le thermostat est
chaud.
Cette condition est normale. Assurez-vous que la capacité du
chauffage ne dépasse pas la charge maximale du thermostat.
Une mauvaise
température est
affichée.
Corrigez-la si l’une des situations suivantes existe :
• Le thermostat est exposé à un courant d’air.
• Le thermostat est situé à proximité ou au-dessus d’une source de
chaleur telle qu’un gradateur de lumière
Une mauvaise heure est
affichée.
Le thermostat est resté sans alimentation électrique pendant plus de
5 heures.
La température ne
change pas selon
l’horaire programmé.
Vérifiez que le thermostat est en mode automatique. Vérifiez les
paramètres d’horaire et d’horloge. Si le thermostat est configuré au
format 12 heures, assurez-vous que PM apparaît à l’écran lorsque
des heures de l’après-midi sont affichées.
LP apparaît à l’écran ou
l’écran est vide malgré
l’absence de panne de
courant.
Le disjoncteur thermique du dispositif de chauffage est ouvert.
Cela peut se produire si le dispositif de chauffage est obstrué par des
meubles ou un rideau et a surchauffé, ou si le disjoncteur thermique
est défectueux ou trop sensible.
Les paramètres ne
peuvent pas être
modifiés.

LO s’affiche La température mesurée est inférieure à la plage d’affichage. Le
chauffage est activé.
HI s’affiche La température mesurée est supérieure à la plage d’affichage.
E1, E2 s’affiche Le rendement du thermostat est réduit en raison d’une erreur de
capteur. Veuillez communiquer avec le soutien technique pour en
savoir plus.
Réinitialisation du thermostat (paramètres par
défaut)
REMARQUE : Tous les paramètres, à l’exception de l’horloge (heure et jour),
reviennent à leurs valeurs par défaut lorsque le thermostat est réinitialisé.
1. Appuyez sur le bouton Mode jusqu’à ce que Standby (Veille) apparaisse à
l’écran.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton pendant 6 secondes.
3. Le thermostat affichera rSt (réinitialisé) pendant 2 secondes pour indiquer
qu’il est réinitialisé et reviendra ensuite à l’affichage normal.
Panne de courant
Pendant une panne de courant, le message LP (low power) apparaît
pendant la première minute. L’écran devient alors vide. Les paramètres
sont enregistrés en mémoire. Après l’installation initiale, le produit doit être
raccordé à une alimentation électrique pendant au moins deux heures pour
activer la fonction de sauvegarde en cas de panne de courant. Toutefois, si
la panne de courant dépasse quatre heures, l’horloge du thermostat devra
être réajustée. Si vous utilisez la fonction de passage automatique à l’heure
avancée, celle-ci devra être réactivée. Au retour du courant, le thermostat
reviendra au mode de fonctionnement qui était actif avant la panne de
courant.
