Before you Start - Initial Set Up
Install your appliance and ensure either a stainless steel door or furniture door is
fitted in accordance with the instructions contained in the Installation Manual.
Ensure the door is closed before turning the power on. Once the power is on you
will hear a bleeping noise indicating that the appliance is setting itself for use.
Ensure all packaging and literature has been removed from the appliance and that
the bottom plate inside the Main Collection Bin is inserted smooth side facing
inside the bin.
Please Note: As a safety precaution all drawers inside the appliance and the main
door must be fully closed for the appliance to operate. A rapid bleeping alarm will
sound if a drawer or door is open. Close the open drawer or door to stop the
alarm.
POWER CUT
In the event of a power cut the appliance will automatically reset itself by
returning the crushing mechanisms to their neutral position provided that all
drawers and main door are fully closed.
DO NOT OPERATE
Do not operate the appliance without a main door fitted.
DUTY CYCLE
The design of this appliance envisages that its compaction mechanisms will not
need to be subject to continuous operation and the motors used have been
specified accordingly. Each compaction mechanism should not be subject to more
than two minutes continuous use (approximately 6 cycles of either the Can Crush
Drawer or compaction of the Main Collection Bin). In the event of continuous
operation for two minutes, the relevant mechanisms should not be used for 18
minutes before further operation. Failure to comply with this requirement will
cause the relevant motor to exceed its “duty cycle” and will void your warranty.
US/Can
11
WHEN NOT IN USE
When the appliance is not in use, the main door must be kept firmly closed.
CHILD SAFETY LOCK
Never let children play with the appliance. To prevent unsupervised use of this
appliance by children a child lock has been fitted on the inner base the appliance
to the side of the Main Collection Bin. Remove the bin to access the key lock. Turn
the lock anticlockwise to disengage the power as required and clockwise to
reengage. Remove the key for safe keeping.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT push rubbish down into the Main Collection Bin or drawers with your
hands as this may damage the appliance. The appliance will compact your
recycling for you when in operation.
DO NOT compact items that may develop offensive odours such as food and
beverage waste, disposable hygiene items or any items which have a moisture
content. This compactor is for dry recyclable waste only NOT for food or beverage
waste.
US/Can
12
How to use the Main Collection Bin
Suitable for use with the following recycling waste: bulky plastic, card and paper
packaging items
1. Open the appliance door and
make sure your bin is ready for use.
The removable bin base should be
inserted flat side facing upwards
inside the bin so that it rests on the
flanges at the bottom.
We recommend you use a custom fit
Krüshr bag to line the bin so as to ease
emptying the compacted waste and of
course help to keep the bin clean.
Before fitting a bag we suggest you
look to see how the bin sits on the
four rollers on top of its frame.
See separate section for instructions on how to fit a Krüshr bag.
2. Once the bin is ready for use, place your recycling materials into the bin.
ONLY when the bin is at least two thirds full should you press the power switch
(blue button) and shut the door. You will hear a slow bleeping noise which
indicates that compaction is in operation. During this operation the compaction
mechanism moves down inside the main bin exerting significant force. Do not

open the door whilst compaction of the Main Collection Bin is in operation. For
your safety, should you open the door during this operation, this will halt the
procedure and a fast bleeping alarm will sound. Immediately close the door to
stop the alarm and allow the appliance to reset itself.
WARNING - DO NOT exceed the duty cycle of this appliance referred to in Initial
Set Up.
3. HYPERCRUSH MODE. This appliance is fitted with an enhanced
compaction facility called “hypercrush”. This feature is designed to overcome
the memory effect in many recyclable materials which gives them a tendency to
gain their original shape following initial compaction. Using the hypercrush
mode at regular intervals will allow you to make maximum use of the capacity of
the main bin.
4. TO USE THE HYPERCRUSH
MODE press and hold the blue button
for three seconds before releasing.
The blue button will start flashing.
Close the main door. The bin contents
will be crushed and the crushing
mechanism will remain in the
downward position. This operation
delays withdrawal of the compaction
plate from the Main Collection Bin
leaving the compacted material at
maximum compaction for one hour.
After this time the appliance
automatically resets itself for further
use
5. To disengage the hypercrush mode at any time simply pull the main door
open by 1cm. It will not open further whilst the compaction plate sits in the Main
US/Can
14
Collection Bin DO NOT TRY TO FORCE THE DOOR OPEN. The alarm will start
bleeping close the door completely to enable the compaction plate to return to
its neutral position. The appliance will take a few moments to reset. Once the
alarm has stopped bleeping you can fully open the main door for further loading.
6. Continue to refill the bin until full. IMPORTANT - DO NOT physically try to
compact the waste inside the bin by pushing it down whilst the bin is open as
this will damage the appliance and could invalidate your warranty.
7. To empty, lift the bin out of the appliance onto the floor and press down
on the sides of the bin. This will help loosen the contents at the bottom of the
bin for emptying. If a Krüshr bag has been used to line the bin, simply lift the bag
out of the bin.
Please note: This appliance is designed for dry waste only. To avoid unpleasant
smells and odours do not use for food or beverage waste, disposable hygiene
items or other items which have moisture content.
US/Can
15
How to use the Can Crush Drawer
Suitable for use with food and drink
cans or tins. Ensure cans and tins
are empty and have lids or pull
rings removed before loading. It is
best practice to rinse these items
before loading to prevent stickiness
or odour within the appliance
WARNING
DO NOT crush aerosol cans or similar pressurised containers in this appliance.
The Can Crush Drawer is for the compaction of cans and tins only. Certain metal
items such as foil and foil trays must not be compacted in the Can Crush Drawer
but placed directly and without any compaction into the Can Collection Drawer.
To avoid damage to the crushing mechanism only one item should be crushed
per cycle. Do not overload.
1. Pull open the drawer and place the metal can or tin inside the drawer on
its side with the open end towards you.
2. Close the drawer fully. You will hear the can or tin being crushed before it
drops into the Can Collection Drawer located beneath. NOTE: the Can Collection
Drawer must be fully closed in order for the Can Crush Drawer to function.
Please note: Opening the Can Crush Drawer during compaction will halt the
operation and the appliance will start bleeping. Closing the Can Crush Drawer
will stop the bleeping and reset the appliance. To restart compaction of the can
or tin reopen and close the Can Crush Drawer.
US/Can
16
How to Empty the Can Collection Drawer
The Can Collection Drawer sits beneath the Can Crush Drawer and will hold
between 50 and 60 crushed cans or tins depending on their size.
To empty the Can Collection Drawer open it fully before lifting it up and out of
the appliance. Empty the drawer’s contents before inserting it back into position
by gently guiding the drawer rollers back into the runners and close fully. NOTE
the Can Collection Drawer must be fully closed in order for the Can Crush Drawer
to function.
Additional Storage Drawers
Two additional drawers facilitate the storage of non-crush items such as glass.
Each drawer is easy to remove by pulling the drawer out to its full length and
gently lifting up and away from the appliance. Two carrying handles located on
either side of the drawer make it easy to carry when full. Once emptied, replace
the drawer by guiding the rollers on each side gently back into the runners and
push back into position.

How to fit a Krushr Bag
Careful compliance with these instructions is necessary to avoid the bag
snagging on and becoming trapped in the crushing mechanism. Many of our
customers find it convenient to spend a few moments to insert a bin liner into
the Main Collection Bin. This helps with removal of the waste when the bin is full
and also keeps the bin clean. Our bags are strong enough to withstand tearing
during compaction of the waste and are custom made for each model ensuring a
snug fit inside the bin. Use of a non-Krüshr bag is not recommended. The forces
of compaction may tear a weaker bag. Furthermore, an oversized or undersized
bag will make it more likely that the bag will become trapped in the crushing
mechanism potentially requiring a service engineer visit. Please note that where
a non-Krüshr bag is used which gets trapped inside the compaction mechanism,
any resulting call out or damage to your appliance is not covered under your
warranty.
1. Remove the bin from the supporting cage noting how the top rim of the
bin rests on the rollers at the top of the cage.
2. Unfold a bag noting how the bag is shaped to fit the bin.
3. Lower the bag into the bin folding between
6” 8” over the top of the bin. This will ensure that
the bag does not fall into the bin during operation
and leave enough excess at the top to secure fitment
around the rim of the bin. It is important that the bag
inside the bin is not too tight so as to allow for
compaction of the waste without tearing the bag.
US/Can
18
4. Once the bag is inserted, lower the bin back into
its supporting frame pushing the overhanging 6” 8”
of bag down between the outer edge of the bin and
the supporting cage. It is important that the bag is
pinched between the lower side of the rim of the bin
and the rollers on which it rests.
PLEASE NOTE that ONLY once the bin is at least two thirds full should you press
the blue button to compact the waste. Failure to adhere to this requirement
makes it more likely that the bag becomes trapped in the mechanism.
